Hey all, thank you for taking the time to read what may be a little bit of a brain dump, but I'm keen to ascertain if there's sufficient interest in the idea that is knocking around in my head before I go ahead and start fleshing out a plot in more detail.

So, I'm not really one for the TV related or Anime/Manga related themes that seem to be popular, largely because I don't have much background to work with and haven't yet taken the time to start watching any of the series involved to immerse myself into their worlds.  Similarly with a mediocre laptop and little interest in console gaming, the Computer game themed role plays are out of my experience for hardware and cost reasons.

But one thing I do, for my sins, have experience of, is role playing within the dark fantasy confines of settings such as Warhammer.  However, since a role play generally isn't aimed at the mass warfare and giant armies end of the spectrum, it's important to take settings like Warhammer and find a more personal, smaller scale aspect.  So my idea is really focused around the adventures and exploits of a group of travelers that may, for various reasons, be sharing a journey together.

Think of a merchant caravan passing through a dangerous mountain pass, or settlers and refugees trekking through the forests, travelling many miles and many days in mixed company, or an Imperial nobleman who has an escort of soldiers and assorted retinue.  Such a journey would provide, I hope, an interesting setting for various interested parties to join the travelling group and to explore various interactions and relationships along the way.  Hopefully some adventure elements along the journey could spur those relationships, drawing some people together, or driving a wedge between others.  How would they respond to a brigand attack, or a wandering Orc war band that lurks in the forests, or a marauding troop of Chaos warriors stalking them through the mountains?

I would enjoy the depth and diversion that such a setting could provide, but hopefully still find a role play that allows the exploration of adult dynamics and relationships along the way.  Whether it's a young couple drawn together in fear sharing a night of passion, or an grizzled old soldier falling for the merchant's daughter, who knows, they should all be able to be played out along the way too.  After all, in these fantasy worlds where so much focus is given to the fantastic, it's still worth remembering these are people, driven by all the desires and passions of anyone in any other world.

Of course, in non-adult role play forums, exploring these kinds of things tends to lead to accusations of "too much drama" and so forth, but hopefully here at E, I've found a place where the right balance can be found.

The only question that remains for me is, does anyone else have an interest in exploring this kind of setting also?

I really enjoy the Warhammer worlds, both fantasy and 40K. Funny enough, my only RL RP group right now we are in the middle of a Warhammer RPG campaign. So yes, I definitely would be interested. :)
