Not sure if there is a way to do this, but anyway you can have the bookmarks set so you go directly to the last post instead of having to hit page and then down each time?

There is an icon for that at the very end of the row for each thread.  I think you have to have it set to show that using the moderation settings in your profile.

Go to Look & Layout in Modify Profile and go to the bottom of the page.  Show quick moderation as icons is what you need to select

Also, if you click on the actual word 'New', it takes you to the first unread post.

Or if you like to see the last post first in threads in general (as I do), you can go to the Look and Layout section of your forum profile, and check the box that says "show last posts first" and save the setting.
