Personality:  Jade is an introvert, more by necessity than nature. Her natural personality is friendly and outgoing, but she is an empath, able to pick up on emotions of anyone and everyone near her.  This is something she's only recently learned to control and focus.  Feeling other people's emotions constantly is extremely draining for her, she is hoping Xavier's School will help bring her out of her self-made shell and help get over her agoraphobia.

Background: Happy, stable, and normal would be the best words to describe Jade McGuire's early childhood.  Born in Dublin, her family came to the US when she was four years old, after her grandmother died, and settled in Connecticut.  As an only child she was the apple of her parents' eyes and seldom lacked for attention, though they did not spoil her.  In school she was usually ahead of her class, picking up reading and reading comprehension very quickly and at an early age.  Being such a bright and perky child, no one would have ever suspected anything was out of the ordinary, including Jade herself.

Around the age of eleven Jade first began feeling different, angry for no reason at times, or crying in the middle of a funny movie.  At first her parents just wrote it off as growing pains but it started to become more and more obvious that that was not the case.  At school Jade found it nearly impossible to concentrate anymore, so turbulent were the emotions within, and she frequently found herself in the nurse's office with severe headaches. Her parents took her to numerous neurologists and psychologists, hoping for an answer they never would get.  The more her empathy manifested the more Jade would isolate herself, even from her own family. She began to notice the correlation between the emotions she felt and the people she was near, it was only then that the realization of what she was started to sink in.

Her odd behavior and isolation landed her with the nickname "Head Case" all through middle school, though she much preferred being thought of as a freak so people left her alone.  Reading was her escape and where she found peace.  Jade would read nearly any book she could get her hands on, particularly those on the subject of psychology.  Somehow understanding why people had certain emotions made it a bit easier for her to bare.  She was never in class, yet her grades always stayed high, confounding teachers completely, and concerning the school's principle more than just a little bit.

Knowing she would learn better on her own, Jade begged, pleaded, and finally convinced her parents to allow her to just study at home, though home was only a refuge for a short amount of time.  While on the outside her parents seemed happy and loving, a storm brewed beneath the surface, and their daughter felt every raindrop and crack of lightening.  Her mother's jealousy and anger towards her father was overwhelming, and her father's discontent and wandering eye was more than Jade could bare.  She pulled away from the only two people she really had contact with in the world, and hid in her room, burying herself in books, to lessen the intensity of emotion. 

In her research she started learning of mutants, and ideas for controlling her powers, though she still dare not go out in public as her sensitivity continued to grow.  Through whispers and rumors Jade's father heard of a school for children like his daughter, a place where she might feel normal and be able to socialize once more.  There was also the unspoken, and added bonus, that he and Kathleen would be able to get a divorce without having to worry about traumatizing Jade any further.  With the decision reluctantly made, they brought Jade to the school where she would continue her education.

Major - Empathy: Jade is able to sense the emotions of others.  She is learning to control it, though at times it can be severe enough to overtake her own emotions.
      ~ Limitation: Being in large crowds can be quite exhausting for her and cause her power to control her rather than the other way around.  More than 20 people in a small area can render her power more of a curse than a blessing.  Only usable on organics.

Minor/Developing - Emotion Control: This is a newly developing talent.  Jade can control and manipulate the emotions of her target which can affect their actions.
                 ~Limitation: As a newly developing power her control and skill is not very high.  She can only target one person at a time and the manipulation has never so far lasted longer than 10 minutes.  Only usable on organics.

Minor - Mind Blast: Her only real defense, she is able to use the power of her mind to create a blast for either protection or attack.
      ~ Limitation:  Range of 20 feet, very physically draining.  Firing more than 5 mind blasts in an hour can cause a near comatose affect for an entire day.


Hobbies and Interests:  Jaded is a bookworm, and finds reading and retreating into a good story helps calm and clear her mind.  Crocheting also helps her focus and concentrate, enabling her to not pick up on too many emotions at a time, when she feels uneasy she often reaches for a g-hook.

Information:

Personality:  Usually stoic and quiet, Thomas doesn't dare show any strong emotions for fear of what dwells within his very soul.  Having woken up two months ago, after some kind of accident he can't recall at all save for bits and pieces, among the rest of his life for that matter, Thomas felt something was wrong with him.  He has incredible willpower, and maybe that's why he is able to control the beast within him, but even so, he fears it since he can't control it perfectly and when he loses control, it's not good for anyone within a block radius.  It's when he loses control is when his 'alter ego' comes out and tears up everything until exhaustion takes him down.  He has a good heart, and when he's having a good day of keeping the beast at bay, he's quite open and happy to be alive since when he first woke up, it felt like something had tried to tear out his heart...or eat it from the inside.  He had never decided which.

He woke up in a ruined laboratory, in incredible pain and the smell of fresh corpses filling his nose.  His chest was ablaze and seeing fresh incisions, 'Thomas' found that the bed he was on had all but been destroyed, as had the metal cuffs that had apparently been restraining him until recently.  He knew, instinctively knew he had done this, had destroyed this underground lab though how he had no idea.  He couldn't remember anything, not even his name or where he had been born.  Waking up to torn and broken bodies would make anyone freak, and he was no different as he got up and ran for the only door that was open and immediately puked, which only made the pain in his chest intensify considerably, nearly making him black out right then and there.  Fighting off the pain and unconsciousness, Thomas Jameson, having taken a lab coat that didn't have hideous claw marks ripped through the material and a ID badge with the same name on it, along with a pair of similar white pants to cover his body, made his way out of the destroyed facility and into fresh sunlight.

That had been two months ago, and Thomas never figured out what had happened in that lab, other than the bad feeling he had been responsible.  He knew there was something wrong with him because ever since he had gotten out of that place, he's felt a dark presence inside his very soul.  Something wanting to get out and destroy everything in its path.  Blacking out from time to time and waking up miles from any town with smoke rising behind him as well as intense fires and untold devastation gave him pretty clear clues as well.  It had always been before any intense emotions took hold of him.  The first time had been when a gang of bikers had tried to take the few things he had in his possession.  Another had been during a bank robbery he had happened to be caught in the middle of, having started a relationship with one of the female employees.  The last, and probably the worst of them so far was, though he hadn't blacked out, he felt his body start to change and saw the beast for what it was, the demon that had taken residence within him.  Realizing what he was now, a monster, Thomas did the only thing he could do, and that was to seek help.

Traveling across country after finding the address for Xavier's School for Gifted Young Adults, Thomas hopes fervently that they might be able to help him.  If not, at least put him out of his misery before he loses control again.  In any event, Thomas, real name Yuri, is a good soul despite the darkness he perceives to be a demonic entity from another world much like the rumored Nightcrawler's father, Azezel.  How he knows anything about the warlord is another mystery, but he tends to get insights from the other side after his transformations.  In reality, the experiment infused him with energy much like the gamma radiation that created the Incredible Hulk, only this was akin to the same energy that makes up a black hole.  This 'dark energy' did the same thing as gamma radiation, mutating Yuri's body in such a way to give him a 'split personality' that only comes out when he's pissed.

What happened....

Yuri had been an unwilling participant in an experiment to punch a hole into another world, much like Nightcrawler could do so so effortlessly.  There was an organization that wanted to strip the resources of other realities and use them for their own ends, and Yuri was to go through the breach, whether or not he liked it was not up for debate since he had been an unwilling guest up until then.  His father had been one of the scientists, a human, and his mother who he had never met since she had divorced the man for his madness after it became apparent three years into their marriage, also human, yet Yuri had a little control over dimension hopping before the events of that fateful day changed him forever.  Being wired up and tested upon for most of his young life, after he had finished grade school and graduated at the top of his class, Yuri saw first hand the depths of his father's madness.  He couldn't do anything to stop him, at least not until half a year before the incident that would free him...and destroy his memory as well as the only family he knew.

The attempt was finally made on March 10th of this year, and Yuri wasn't sucked through the breach as they thought he would be.  Instead, he absorbed the energy that had been used to create the hole in past experiments though they hadn't been stable, and nearly died on the table because of it.  Of course, that was also the same day that he would be able to transform into his much more powerful alter ego, Amon, and totally obliterate everything around him, though it would take a couple months for it to come full circle.  The dark energy as it would be nicknamed by one survivor, took time in doing its insidious work and it also had to heal the damage it had done to Yuri's body before completing the mutation.  When that happened, there was nothing that could stop him in the lab....

Powers:  Major Power;  Thomas or Yuri, whichever you prefer, can transform into a demonic visage that is far stronger and able to fly at speeds matching a car going eighty miles an hour.  (A cop clocked him as the roof of his car was torn off on his way by.)  It's activated when Yuri feels any emotion in extremes, like anger, hatred, and so on.  Amon, as the demon prefers to be called, is a maelstrom of destructive power that is only extinguished when his human half tires out, which thankfully happens quickly.  He's not invincible by any means, but his body is incredibly tough and can take a considerable beating before folding under the pain.

Minor Powers;  Incredibly tough skin, superhuman strength and speed, the latter in flight though.  Sharpened senses are also open to Yuri's demonic half, but some of that has rubbed off on Yuri as well, though to a lesser degree.

Power Limitations:  Because he has so little control over his other half, Yuri fears losing control for when he does, no one is safe usually.  Not only that, but when he reverts back to his human side, he's usually drained and unable to fight afterward from a combination of exhaustion and pain from transforming between the two.



Hobbies and Interests:  Fishing, reading, listening to music, acting, surfing the web, (mostly to find out where he came from and who he was, so far no luck though.)  He remembers briefly his time in his father's lab and thus knows he didn't have a normal childhood.  He hopes to make up for that in the days to come by doing everything he finds enjoyable at least once.

GreenEyes - The idea is really cool, but in order for this application to go through, the GM's need specifics on what she can and cannot do. Right now you have two powers listed as her major, and one as her minor. The limitations are in no way going to work as you have them listed. We don't need a pissed off student dropping a fully grown redwood in the middle of class, causing earthquakes, or raising the great wall of china when she thinks she's threatened. Also, please modify the bio in respect to when her powers developed, as all mutations are triggered by puberty (Meaning they would form at around age 10, but no earlier.)

An example of what we're looking for (You may use this if you like):
Major: Floral Encouragement - Rayne is so in tune with the growth of plantlife around her, that she is able to speed the growth of the flora around her with concentrated thought.
Minor: Earth Control - Able to shift the earth around her into various shapes
Minor: Water Control - Able to move water from nearby sources

Major Limit - At this point, Rayne is only able to affect flora within 25 feet while maintaining active concentration. She is only able to affect things that are of her height or less, nothing may be accelerated past that, or she loses control, and the tree/bush/plant dies off from the strain.
Minor (Earth): Rayne is only able to shift as much earth as she can physically lift in weight at this point. 25 foot Range on where she pulls the earth from or forms it.
Minor (Water): She may draw water from sources up to 15 feet away, and shape it into anything she wants. If the water leaves more than 15 feet from her body, she looses control, the water looses form, and collapses back to the ground. She may only control up to three masses of water at once, their combined weight no more than her own total weight.

Shihong - Ive no issues from the sheet as long as it's just mouths and stuff basically shaping into existance on her body. Creepy as fuck to think about her getting into someone sexually, but the sheet has my approval.

LunarSage - I have no issues with that set in the slightest. Prep the sheet and we'll have a look at him.

Cassiopeia - As long as you understand that the manipulation/control of other players characters must be okay'd via PM before you attempt it, the sheet has my approval. I absolutely understand ^_^  The emotion control is something I'm hoping to develop further but by no means do I want it to be used as a god-modding device.  I'll definitely take advantage of having a fellow empath around, I think it will be very helpful.  Thank you so much, I can't wait to start!

Yup Adonis, that's basically the gist of her abilities.  At its absolute extreme her head will go all Duchess/Queen of Hearts, but I definitely don't see that happening in the course of the story unless things get really bad.

And trust me, this is actually slightly less creepy than another character in the Marvel/DC universe who also has mouths all over her body.  The difference?  Hers talk and have their own individual personalities.  Talk about freaky!

Personality: She's full of dirty jokes, has a great sense of humor, and has been known to enjoy her booze.  She's what one might call 'the wild teacher'.  While she's been rumored to have had liaisons with students in the past nothing has ever been proven.  She's a bit of a free spirit and very open.

Background:

Growing up in Chicago wasn't easy for a mutant teenager who liked to experiment with fast cars and illegal substances… oh… No, it was pretty easy.   She spent more of her time hiding her abilities and pretending to be a bad ass than she did doing anything else.  Often times her powers would manifest at inopportune times, making it seem like she'd wet her pants or spilled something down her shirt.  It was embarrassing, but the worst time was when she turned into water in the public swimming pool, disappearing and then reappearing [human to water and back].  This occurred in front of all of her friends and she lost several as a result.  The once popular student became the outcast and she learned to deal with it via her own means.  Eventually she just decided that she didn't care and started drinking a lot.

The more that she drank, the higher a tolerance to it she got, but it became harder and harder to control her abilities when she got blitzed.  She did some embarrassing things and exposed herself as well as her powers to a few too many people when she was drunk. 

Her parents were another story, she was not accepted by them and they did their best to keep up appearances with her.  They gave up when she turned seventeen and hit her wild stages.  She keeps in touch with one girl from high school, via Facebook and the phone.  Amelie was the only one of her friends who didn't turn her back.  Amelie also has a mutant brother.

Powers:
Major: Can turn into water and seep through cracks in buildings and into other parts. Can merge with other fluids and travel through pipes and drains. It is useful for spying and escaping. She can appear in human shape and water form at the same time, can speak in water form.  In water form, she takes on the temperature of her environment.

Minor:  In water form, she can shoot the liquid at someone. 

Minor: In water form, she can rearrange her physical mass and stretch her shape.  Absorbing extra water can make her larger. 

Power Limitations:

Major:  Takes on the scent of whatever type of fluid she merges with.  When moving through drains, she will return to human form covered in ick.  Merging with putrid water for too long at a time can make her sick and require antibiotics and even time in the hospital ward.  In water form if she gets too hot, she can start to evaporate. If she gets too cold, she can get ill as well.  If she starts getting icy, she can get very sick. 

Clothing does not transfer with her.  She doesn't mind though. ;)

Minor: Hot days and lots of sunshine make her dehydrated.  If she uses this ability a lot, she gets weak and tired and has to chug water to replenish herself. 

Minor: Absorbing extra water can make her larger but it is not a long lasting ability.  It is tiring and can be painful.  The easiest way to describe it is the sensation of eating too much at dinner.

Information:

Personality: Charming, flirtatious, and all together deviant. A wild spirit through and through. He only gives what is given to him. But once his friendship is earned, you've got a friend for life.

Background:

The young man known as Chance Winters was left in the atrium of The Children's Hospital in New Orleans with only a tear stained letter declaring that the mother was unable to care for the child and that as such she wanted to give him everything she couldn't. The only thing he received from his birth mother was a pendant of Saint Dismas, the Patron Saint of Second Chances. And his name. Chance.

He was immediately given to a foster home to be cared for since he was too young to go to an orphanage. As he grew older, he went from one set of prospective parents to another. None seemed to fit him. One set declared him 'too high spirited and wild'. Finally after he'd been put into a foster home with an abusive dad, at the age of 13, something inside him snapped mentally. Drugging his foster father's food, he chained the man to his bed while his foster mother was at work then set fire to the house, starting with the mattress on which the man was tied down.

Chance stayed in the house until he was certain that the man who had abused him had in fact burned to death. Then as the house collapsed in on itself, his mutant powers activated and a portal opened for him to step through. He found himself in a secluded alleyway near a Thieves Guild safehouse. As the boy passed out, the woman in charge of the safehouse brought him in and tended to him.

Upon awakening, he returned to his foster home to find it in ashes. His foster mother hysterically declaring him a monster and murderer. But the Thieves guild, already guessing at the boys abilities, had one of their many agents declare him to have stayed with them. One thing led to another and he found himself adopted by the family and learning the ways of the thief.

He had quick hands, a quick eye, and a sharp mind.

This allowed him to learn and start climbing the ranks of the Guild fairly quickly. Allowing him to learn the fine art of the Con. Then burglary. As he learned all of this he received instruction in his powers. For five years things went thusly until a job went wrong. He was then pulled before the Head of the Guild, and informed that they were gonna let him go his own way. He had a destiny that couldn't be fulfilled by simply thieving. They were gonna send him somewhere where that destiny could be realized with some time and effort.

Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning. They contacted Remy LeBeau, who informed them of the new school. And he was sent there on the first thing smoking out of New Orleans.

Powers:

Teleportation Fields (Main) – Chance has the ability to manipulate teleportative energies to open portals allowing for instantaneous movement from one point to another. A side effect of this power allows for Chance to use these energies on himself to teleport himself and up to 50 pounds of equipment without the need to open up a portal.

Living Compass (Minor) – Because of the fact that his powers link him to the magnetic field of the world, he can always tell what direction he's going without really thinking about it. This also enables him to orientate himself in a fall, as he can always tell where his body is in relation to the ground at any time.

Geo-synchronistic Memory (Minor) – Chance can remember any place he's been to and been around for more than five minutes. Meaning that once he's visited a destination, he can teleport or open a portal to that destination accurately and precisely.

Power Limitations:
Teleportation Fields (Main) – For whatever reason, because he's inexperienced, young, or lacking appropriate willpower, Chance can only open a portal to a destination within three miles of his starting point. What is worse, he can only take five people besides himself through a portal, as each persons personal energy disrupts the stability of the portal. After five the portal becomes highly unstable and can cause a backlash that will leave him unconscious. His own personal range when just merely teleporting by himself is 6 miles.

He is also limited in the fact that if he has never been to his destination or cannot create an image of his destination from a video feed or pictures, then he cannot go there. If shown a picture of a place within his range does not exist, the portal won't even form.

Also because of the fact that his powers operate using the magnetic fields of the earth as a guide, powerful magnetic sources can disrupt his power, shredding a portal or preventing him from opening one.

His ability to teleport himself is limited to just that, himself. He cannot teleport with anything living on his person larger than a bug. For example, he can teleport from one end of the school to the next carrying fifty pounds of lettuce, but if he picks up a cat, he needs to open a portal because it's alive.

Also, if he ever has his powers turned off, either by means of technology or another mutants powers, he gets violently ill. As his internal sense of equilibrium goes haywire.

Geo-synchronistic Memory (Minor) – He has to be in an area for five minutes of relative calm before he can 'mark' the location in his memory. Ten to fifteen if placed under duress. Also, his memory only marks the spot in his mind, not if something has changed. So if he visits a spot in Central Park, it'll be marked in his memory, but if someone puts up a building on that site, he won't know about it until he goes to open a portal to the destination or teleports there.

Jarod is in very good shape from his football career at his old High School.  His build is less bulky and more lithe, harkening to his experience as a running back.  His hair is very dark brown and short, fashionably cut for his age, his handsome face unblemished, his eyes a deep brown.  His dress will vary from day to day but he is often seen in blue jeans and athletic shoes

Information:

Personality: Before it was revealed that he was a mutant, Jarod was very outgoing and sure of himself.  Now he's starting to question his place in the world and can seem slightly withdrawn at times.  He was popular and strong and would sometimes do a bit of bullying of the weaker students.  Now that he knows what it feels like to be persecuted, his mindset has changed.  The transition from popular jerk to basically nice guy may be temporary or it may be lasting.  It all depends on how others interact with him.  When it comes to friends however, he's pretty loyal and will go out of his way to help them.

Background: Jarod's life was rather typical before it was revealed that he was a mutant.  He was born the only child of a middle class couple, his father a technician at a nuclear power plant for about 15 years of Jarod's life and 10 years before.  His mother was a stay at home mom and doted over her only child.  He was never spoiled but he was always comfortable.  They had a nice house in the subburbs of Seattle and could afford some luxuries.  His childhood was fairly normal and by the time he got to High School he was good looking enough and in good enough shape that he could try out for the football team.  He was placed as the school's running back and by the time he hit his Junior year he was the school's MVP.  They called him "The Blue Mongoose" because of his natural agility and speed.  All the same while, he competed in track as well and won numerous awards and trophies in that sport too. 

Then disaster struck.  He had always had difficulty sleeping, but near the end of his Junior year he found himself unable to sleep at all.  He wasn't outed as a mutant until an accident in the science lab at school caused him to become trapped in the burning building.  Everyone else managed to escape but Jarod was not rescued for about ten minutes by the fire department.  Despite having been found pinned under a burning piece of roof, he had absolutely no burns on his body, though he was pronounced dead on the scene due to smoke inhalation.  Jarod woke up en route to the city morgue, much to the surprise of the ambulance driver.  The look on his face when the white body bag began to writhe would have been priceless except for the fact that it caused him to plow through the railing on the edge of a bridge and into a 50 foot drop to his death.  Jarod was rescued by emergency workers, after which he was sent to a special facility for "testing". 

The government facility confirmed that he was a mutant.  He was allowed to go home with his parents but things seemed different in the way they treated him, like he was some sort of plague victim.  He felt less love from them and more pity.  At school it was even worse.  His former friends turned on him and he found himself a pariah... worse yet, he had to give back all his awards and trophies and the school was in the midst of a scandal.  So, when the visit came and Jarod was offered a place to learn about his abilities and be around people who might understand him, he jumped at the chance and his parents agreed to let him go.  A little leery and more than a bit nervous (though he'd never admit it), Jarod hopped on a plane to New York, hoping to finally find a place where he could fit in again.

Major: Resistance to Fire and Heat: Jarod possesses the mutant ability to withstand the effects of fire and heat, the upper extent of which is unknown.  He has been able to withstand being trapped in a burning building for more than ten miniutes with absolutely no burns.

Minor: Healing Factor: Jarod's natural healing rate is accelerated, allowing him to recover quickly from wounds.  It has even brought him back from clinical death once, though the cause of his "death" was due to suffocation from smoke inhalation. 

Minor: Does not Fatigue: Jarod's body does not tire in any fashion that can be recorded.  He does not require sleep, nor can he choose to sleep.  Because of this, he is able to maintain the intitial "burst" of speed that a normal human runner can begin with indefinitely.



Power Limitations:
Resistance to Fire and Heat: Jarod may be resistant to being burnt, but the effects of smoke on his lungs will still injure him like it would any normal human.

Healing Factor: Grievous physical wounds take longer to heal than minor ones and extreme tissue damage can still kill him as it overwhelms his body's healing capability.

Does not Fatigue: Jarod couldn't sleep even if he wanted to, and due to this he is often quite bored when others are asleep.
