The Walking Dead: UK (interest thread)

So as the name implies this game is set in the world of the Walking Dead but follows a group (or groups, if we get enough characters) from the United Kingdom as they try to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

The game will start approximately six months after the dead began to rise, in the city of London (starting location can be changed but a major city is preferable)
All characters will start of with very little in the way of weaponry and supplies and it should be fun to write how they come together to make up for that despite any initial mistrust.

Anyway I'll put up a character sheet template when we have some interest so I hope to hear from you all soon.

Where were you when it started: As the son of a member of the Royal Air Force, Aaron grew up around military people and military things. Despite it not exactly his sort of thing it did allow him to learn several basic skill sets in survival, first aid and a little combat training. He happened to be at work on his local military base in North Yorkshire at the moment everything fell apart. When the base eventually became over-run he escaped with several military personnel and as they were headed south to find their families, he went too. Needless to say he never found his family but eventually made it to London. He was separated from his group when a large group of Zombies attacked and now wonders the city alone.
Useful skills:
1. Former gamer so knows a lot about this kind of stuff
2. Grew up in a military family so has a basic knowledge of survival skills
3. Very light on his feet

Where were you when it started: Airport; Sadie was on her way home after a break in the UK from college. Her parents are from England and like to send her there for the summers and other breaks to spend time with her family like grandparents and aunts. Sadie has a unique vocal as she has a weird twist of southern slang and British accent that sound almost creole but with deeper British accent. In the United states, she lives in the French quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana; so she can speak French as well as English. Her mother is a chef and her father is a teacher at her college.

Shortcomings:
Not very combat heavy, can use blades very well however
More likely to crack jokes and seduce than kill a man

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Sexuality: Unsure
Where were you when it started: It was Seren's senior year, and coming to a close on a chapter in her life she wanted to escape and forget. At least the running helped, and that's why she joined the track and field team, representing her school as one of their best sprinters. It was on the field that she was mindlessly jogging with headphones blaring music that the attack happened. Unable to hear the siren and warnings from her peers, she was caught off-guard and narrowly escaped by outrunning the dead. She's managed to survive thus far alone, but she needs to find a group if she wants to stay alive - she knows that.

Useful skills:

• Seren is a very athletic young woman that has been part of a track and field team for as long as it was available. This not only makes her a fast runner, but it has provided her amazing cardio and stamina.
• You wouldn't expect it, but Seren has mostly taken care of herself throughout her life. She knows how to scavenge (or steal) in order to survive.

Shortcomings:

• While she understands she needs a group to survive this harrowing experience, Seren has difficulty trusting people and would rather do things self-autonomously instead of relying on another.

Ons (sexual and not): She is not sure what she would enjoy, but...
Offs (sexual and not): Scat, Watersports, Torture, and Pain are definite no-nos.
Additional information: I'm eluding to a few things with this character's background, but I'm not willing to reveal it until it comes out naturally through the story. I hope if she is accepted and this game proceeds as planned, you will ultimately enjoy her company.

Both sound good..... on the one hand a nurse would be really good for the group but on the other hand a drug dealer would make for some good drama especially if one or two of the others were to think maybe this is all being caused by drugs in the first place.

Name: Tommy "Deacon" Wallace
Gender: Male
Age: 48
Sexuality: Straight
Where were you when it started: Tommy was a small-time drug dealer in the East End, even though his criminal record also mentioned armed robbery among other minor offences. A glorified thug with a thing for young girls, he was the kind of guy you would better not piss off. When things went down, he was in Brixton for some delivery with his associate, Bruce Baxter. Never made it back to London, though, as the first weeks turned out to be pure mayhem. He and Bruce headed south, but it didn't take much before they both realized the world as they knew it was gone. Since then, Bruce died and Tommy's been travelling around the outskirts of the city, scavenging and living off whatever he could find.
Useful skills: 1. Definitely not the kind of guy who'd shit his pants.
2. He knows his way around blades and small guns, and really wished he had one.
3. Probably cannot even spell the word 'empathy'. It's something useful when you're out there.
Shortcomings: 1. His lack of empathy also means he cannot easily win other people's trust.
2. His temper: his impulsivity might get him in some trouble.
3. Definitely not the fastest guy around. Plus, he's a smoker.
Ons (sexual and not): Younger partners, rough sex and his cigarettes. He likes hard rock, too.
Offs (sexual and not): When people try to contradict him.
Additional information: Tommy was born in Ireland and has a rather thick accent. He served time (2 years and a half) for armed robbery.

Where were you when it started: Calvin was in his mothers two story apartment while she was at work, rummaging through her things to find etra money to make up for his rent, when the world ended. He had been fired a month before, and was at his wit's end. Being young and impulsive, he decided to stage a home invasion on his very own mother and steal her money to pay rent. This backfired when he found an undead man in her backyard. He ended up running from the house. His first kill was just down the street, where he grabbed a nearby cricket bat and beat an undead's head in to get to his car.
Useful skills: 1. Calvin is good with bats and other melee weapons
2. Small appetite; Calvin doesn't need a whole lot of food to get through the day
3. Non-Violent to humans; Calvin prefers to get along with the people he can team up with, not fight with them
4. Lightweight; due to his short stature and thin frame, Calvin is both fast and easy to carry and lift up to high places
Shortcomimgs: 1. No bulk; Calvin never hit the gym very often, so he doesn't have a surplus of muscle on his frame

Where were you when it started: On board the HMS Queen Elizabeth, the UK’s new aircraft carrier. Ryan was a naval contractor specialising in construction. It was just after the carrier left Portsmouth for the USA to be loaded up with aircraft, that Ryan was on his way back up to head office in London when he found the situation had...changed. He was on the very last train to run from Portsmouth to London and has been cursing his missed chance to get off the mainland ever since.
Useful skills: Knowledge of construction and improvised fabrication. A skilled foreman and critical thinker.

Name: Lizzy Sybelle
Gender: Female

Where were you when it started: Born to a working class family, where little work was done and small time crime was more generally practiced, Lizzy was set for a career of growing up on the streets. She grew up not exactly fighting for survival but more for the personal gain, eventually bending what shady funds from a protection racket she had run into her own private business: A tattoo shop. Lizzy was in the aforementioned shop, inking up some of her return customers, when it happened. Her tattoo shop had always been known as a place of ill repute, frequented by street gang members and motorcycle clubs. At the moment of outbreak a significant number of the latter had been present in her shop. The first few undead to stumble in had been quickly dispatched by the small close combat arms carried by these men.

Quickly Lizzy had shoved as much equipment and things she could carry from her shop into her bag. Joining  up with the motorcycle gang they quickly found the downside to their mode of transportation, the loud engines attracted biters from far and wide, which closed in as soon as they stopped. A second battle ensued between the biters and the motorcycle gang, which left the few who survived without their steel horses and most of their supplies. Thus, in the middle of the night, when it was her turn to stand watch Lizzy gathered up as much supplies as she could and silently slipped away in the night.

Useful skills:

-Excessive violence.
-Okay with bullying and torture to get her way from other groups who prove to be uncooperative.
-Streetsmarts.
-Great with a stiletto blade.
-Great tattoo artist.

Shortcomings:

-Will bully weaker members of a group to get her way.
-Mainly understands violence as a way of establishing hierarchy.
-Is often described as crazy and unstable.

Ok so unfortunately my interest in this game has plummeted, mostly down to the fact that having caught up with fear the walking dead (finally) I've become pretty disapointed with the show.

That being said I still want you guys to enjoy the game so feel free to pick out a new GM and continue on. I hope you all have fun.
