Cookimus Prime

Under the golden trees of Lorien, the Realm of Lanriel stood elegant and proud. The People of the Stars, celestial elves, populated these glittering walls of gold and crystal, radiating a light of their own. By the moon and stars, this realm thrives under the blanket of night, in the light of these celestial bodies. The Kingdom itself sat high on a marvelous plateau above the Lorien trees. Water flowed down the edges of this cliff, feeding the trees a magic that only the celestials could wield.
Lanriel was magic incarnate, a land of mystery. Visitors were often regarded with suspicion if they were allowed in at all. The elves were not eager to share their magic with outsiders as they revered it as part of their sacred culture. Few were so well versed in it as these elves.
Odd, though, was that the only one in Lanriel forbidden from practicing such magic was the princess and heiress to the throne; Leoaureli: a stunning example of Lanrielian beauty. As was common in her family, Aureli boasted long and silky silver hair that glinted in the moonlight. Her eyes matched brilliantly; her pale complexion complimenting the hue. She stood tall and thin, but sturdy with a sword.
Aureli, disallowed from leaving the walls of the castle “for her own safety”, often spent her time watching the soldiers in the courtyard practice, in the library sneaking books from the forbidden section, or in her room drawing or sleeping.
Being stuck in the castle, hardly allowed to step out onto the dirt and grass outside, was enough to drive someone insane. Aureli dreams of escaping the confines of the castle to venture out into the world at her door. Under the watchful eye of her out of place, “brother” figure, it’s hard to do much in privacy let alone escape.
But, when her father falls severely ill and the Prince, Leoaurin, takes the throne in his place, Aureli’s fate falls into the unexpected.
Now that the Prince could not watch Aureli as closely as he would have liked, he hires the best of the best in all the lands to “protect” and watch over her. He becomes Aureli’s first friend and only chance for escape, but will they make it in time?
A twist of villainous proportions, a battle for Lanriel, and the choice to go back or hold onto freedom plagues these characters. What choices will they make and will they be the right ones?
