Hello, and thank you for checking out this group game idea. I'd like to say right off the bat, as you will see if you read on, that this game takes elements from several different movies/shows/games including Hunger Games, Borderlands, and OnRush... there will certainly be more, so just keep that in mind as you read through and notice similarities...

Avalon, the cradle of humanity. The last bastion of survival for mankind. It shines amongst the rotting hell that was the ancient world. But despite the decaying state of the world, Avalon thrives under the watchful eyes of the citizens of the glorious center that is Endcliff City, and on the backs of the hard working people of Paradise falls.
But in spite of the inherent differences that exist in the wonder of Avalon, all citizens can stand in pride of the great Dernier Cri, and the competitors that stand like heroes to the underclass and celebrities to those on top!

World Info
The Time
Very distant future. The planet has been ravaged to the point where 99% of it is unlivable, due to various reasons: nuclear fallout, climate change, acid rain, tectonic shifts causing deadly volcanic/sulfur eruptions, poisonous air/water/soil. The only living things remaining on the surface are an influx of mutated plant life, and sporadic sightings of mutated animals.

The world has been in this state as long as anyone alive can remember, and there are no records that exist to explain how this came to be. The easiest assumption being that the state of the world was caused by war, but there is no remaining evidence of such anywhere that someone could find it.

The Place
Avalon - A highly advanced megacity. Avalon represents the aforementioned 1% of the known world that is still habitable. Avalon is a highly class based society with three overarching tiers: Upper class, lower class, racers.
The upper class- The wealthy who believe they run society and therefore the world. For them, every day is about how to be entertained long enough to endure until their parties at night and going to bed. Then getting up to do it again. Their day to day lives revolve around the races, and who will push the envelope in betting on them.

The lower class- Everyone else in Avalon who isn't a racer. Every day they get up to do their job, to barely make enough to survive the night without succumbing to hunger or the environment. Their day to day lives also revolve around the races, as all members of the lower class work for Providence Corp. Which is the company that runs and operates the races (and everything else in Avalon), thus all members of the lower class work for the races.

Racers- There is no conceivable way for someone in the lower class to work their way up into the upper class. The only opportunity that exists for people to climb out of their position is to scrape together absolutely everything they have,  to purchase a vehicle and compete in the races.
Of course just having wheels and getting out on the course doesn't make you a racer. Only the most focused, most enduring, and most well liked can move out of the slums and onto the Speedway with the real racers.

Racers come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities, from the beautiful, lovable fan favorites, to the bloodthirsty, degenerate, dirty drivers, and everything in between.
They are as diverse as the vehicles they drive on the course.

Avalon is separated into three districts, all humans alive today live somewhere in one of the three districts:

Endcliff City - This is where the upper class live, it makes up the center of Avalon and is surrounded by Paradise Falls. With highly advanced technology, and a far superior quality of life, the residents of Endcliff City exist in the lap of luxury. With little to no material need, and an abundance of liquid assets, the biggest worry they have is how they want to go about wildly betting their money on the races.

Fashion is another way for the upper class to constantly spend their wealth, feeling that the gaudier they appear the higher their status.
The average family in Endcliff City consists of a mother and father, and two children.
The average life expectancy of a citizen of Endcliff is 180-200 years.
Citizens of Endcliff live in high rise, luxury domiciles similar to condos.

Paradise Falls - This is the slums of Avalon, where the lower class live and makes up the outer circumference of Avalon, that surrounds Endcliff City. The technology found here is for the purpose of getting as much work out of the people of Paradise as possible, and as fast as possible, usually not to the benefit of the people doing the work.

The people of Paradise Falls are expected to work nonstop through each shift, except during the races.
The races are the only respite for the citizens of Paradise. During any of the events of the Dernier Cri, all jobs are put on hold so all citizens of Avalon are able to watch.
The average life expectancy of a citizen of Paradise is 85-95 years.
The people of Paradise live in giant apartment complexes that are often unclean, unsafe, drafty and overcrowded.

The Speedway - A section of Avalon that is maintained on the southern border between Endcliff and Paradise. This is where the top 100 racers are invited to live. The food and water provided are much higher quality than that in Paradise. There are night clubs, entertainment, eateries (with food produced by machines), and the racers houses.

The racers houses are the most customizable in Avalon. When racers move onto the Speedway they are given one living unit, which is like a shipping container converted into an apartment. Along with cars and vehicle upgrades, racers can also purchase extra living units that can be attached to the top of each previous living unit giving them as many extra rooms as they can afford, connected by a spiral staircase leading up and down.

Because racers live a fast and hard lifestyle their life expectancy is the lowest of all citizens on Avalon. A racer in their 60’s is considered elderly.
Really this is due to a genetic breakdown effect caused by the regeneration system.

The Race - Known as the Dernier Cri is made up of several events including a demolition run, where racers earn points by causing as much destruction to their fellow competitors as possible. A gate race, where racers drive through glowing goal posts to add time to their run in order to be the last racer left when time runs out. A zone race, where racers have to drive within a roaming glowing circle to earn points. And a grand prix, where racers will drive through all elements of the course and include all events of the Dernier Cri.

The Dernier Cri is run on a course that makes up the 403km circumference of Avalon and is made up of many different terrains from ancient cities to forest covered mountainous areas.
Because of the savage nature of the race, the lust for destruction of the viewers, and the brutality of the course itself, it is virtually impossible to run an entire race without being wrecked and regenerated.

Any race in the Dernier Cri can have as many as 200 drivers competing at one time, resulting in maximum carnage.
Any vehicle on wheels is permitted in the Dernier Cri. Racers are known to drive a variety of vehicles from two wheel dirt bikes, to ten wheel semi trucks and everything in between.
All vehicles are fully customizable from extra plating for defense or stability, to offensive weapons used to wreck competitors.
All ammunition and/or energy used for weapons, tools, or utilities have to be purchased by fans, or backers, only after the race is started. All vehicle upgrades are disabled until the start of the race, and until they are purchased by a backer.
(In the case of ammunition backers can purchase one unit at a time ((units vary by type of ammunition)), energy is purchased in 30 second units)

Providence Corp. - The only business that exists in Avalon, it runs, produces, and provides everything that the citizens of Avalon use. All citizens of Paradise Falls work for Providence. All citizens of Endcliff believe Providence works for them.

Providence also operates the Dernier Cri and the regeneration system used throughout.
Because it is illegal to hold a contest where you know people will die, the scientists at Providence built an advanced information storage system that is capable of safely converting every element that makes up every racer and their vehicles into data. That data can then be fed into the regenerator, so when a racer is killed by driving into a volcano, careening on fire off a raised turnpike, or being crushed under the weight of another driver coming down on top of them from a jump, that racer can be regenerated right back into the action of the race, for a nominal penalty
(Fine Print: all data written and stored by Providence Corp. remains the property of Providence Corp. in any form it may take. Providence Corp. retains ownership of all energy particles used in the process of regeneration.)

This game will be built around the racers, generally those in the top 100, and their interactions off the course, and their competition on the course.

The idea for this game is to remain constantly open. As there are so many competitors in each race, characters can come and go pretty freely without hurting the game.
-Along with racers, I am open to people playing a certain racers pit crew.
-Doubling is permitted if you feel you can handle it.
-As I know it will come up, the upper class of Endcliff City absolutely believe in a separation between themselves and the lower class, this includes the racers. Any citizen of Endcliff who decided to become a racer would have to work extremely hard to hide their identity. If they were found out they would immediately lose their status, home, and money.
(There are rumors of a club that exists where elite members of the upperclass can arrange to spend time with their favorite racers, in secret.)

I am more than happy to answer any questions or clarify anything that needs it. I just ask that you read the world info section before asking any world of the game related questions, just in case your question was answered already.

Forgive the double post but we have our first accepted character, I'll have them post it here.

Once I have three of these I'll make a character thread they can be posted to. So this thread doesn't get too cluttered.

Bibliophilia

Player name: Bibliophilia
Character Name: Mischief
Age: 23
Gender: Genderfluid | Intersex | Accepts all pronouns
Sexuality: Omnisexual

Personality: Mis is the sort to smile as her world comes crashing down around her, and there's video evidence of that fact.  Some have accused her of sociopathy, others of being suicidal, but she always points out that everyone's a sociopath now and she had a better chance of dying before she became a racer.  Her charm is undeniable, even by those who dislike her, and it's hard to argue with her unexpected level of intelligence and cunning.  She has a fondness for the finer things in life, which has led her to take astounding risks on the race track all in the name of entertaining her fans and earning herself the adoration of wealthy backers.  As a result, she has more regenerations than her skill would merit, but a good portion were earned doing stunts that most drivers would never dare attempt.

Charming Daredevil

Bio: Mischief's early life isn't something she talks much about, at least not truthfully.  Every time she's asked, she comes up with a new, intriguing story so compellingly told that it's rare she's called out for her blatant lies.  Even when she is, she has a knack for turning the tables on her detractor and charming them over to her side.

The truth is far less exciting than any of her stories, however, which is why she never bothers to reveal it...or perhaps she simply prefers to keep something of herself out of the spotlight.  She was born, as all racers were - or so anyone knows -, in Paradise Falls.  Her mother was a brilliant woman who worked in the hydroponic gardens that served to keep the mouths of the idle rich well-fed.  She was a botanist and, in her unique child's humble opinion, the best bedtime storyteller in the world.

Mischief's father was a janitor, and a magician when it came to making their meager food rations taste better than they had any right to.  The pair couldn't really afford to have a child, as was the case with most couples in Paradise Falls, but their desire for one had finally outweighed their practicality.  They adored their child, and as she grew older, they soon discovered she was quite gifted in many ways.

Life was hard, but as has been the case since time began, love and determination helped their small family to thrive in even those harsh conditions.  They were generous, even though they had little, and they did what they could to help their neighbors.  Mischief's parents taught her a lot about how to survive without losing her humanity, and she carried those lessons with her even after first her father...then her mother passed away.

Her father grew ill, something that might easily have been cured with the right medications, and because he couldn't afford treatment, nor could he even take a day or two off work to rest, he only grew more and more ill until he simply fell down at work and never got back up.  After his death, Mischief's mother seemed to fade slowly, growing thinner and losing much of her color and verve.  Eventually, when Mischeif was barely fifteen, she found her mother cold one morning when she went to wake her.

Things got even harder for Mischief after that, but she was tough and smart, two traits that were crucial to survival in the Falls.  She took up running for a well-known drug dealer in her neighborhood, after proving she was faster on her feet than anyone in his crew.  Not only fast, she was brilliant at parkour and fearless when it came to taking shortcuts like jumping roof to roof or leaping to ride the bumpers of delivery trucks.  The job gave her enough scratch to keep herself fed and a warm, safe place to bed down.  Plus, no one in the neighborhood would dare mess with Tusk's best runner, so she didn't have to worry about getting rolled or worse.

That was her first taste of what it meant to make herself invaluable to someone with more clout.  It was inevitable, then, that she would find herself drawn to the Dernier Cri when she was old enough to join.  There were a lot of nights she went to bed hungry so she could save her money to buy her first shitty bike.  It was barely running and one of the wheels was flat, but she owned it...the first thing she'd ever owned in her life.

Tusk was her first backer, bankrolling the repairs on that bike and getting her into her first race, where she wore a jacket with the boar's face that he used as his 'brand'.  She didn't win her first time out...no one ever does, but she took enough risks and gave enough of a show to draw a little attention to herself.  From there, it was all about always doing something new, always making sure the elite couldn't ignore her...and eventually she paid back Tusk.

Then she gradually managed to get better and better vehicles, until she was living in The Speedway and rubbing elbows with people who wouldn't have bothered spitting on her five years prior.

Vehicle: Mischief drives a rough-and-tumble all-terrain vehicle with over-sized wheels and an armored body designed to withstand a brutal beating from the other cars.  It's been customized with the ability to right
its self if it ends up on its roof and to protect its driver from the harsh elements found on the track.  However, it is also tricked out with a holographic paint job that Mischief can alter with a console from the cab of the vehicle, lots of LED lights, a mounted smoke and spark machine that she can control while driving and a sunroof she can open.  While she is concerned about survival, she puts more of her upgrades into making her vehicle look good and putting on a show than fretting about her own safety...which is why she's popped up out of the sunroof on more than one occasion to do things like shoot off fireworks or blow kisses to the audience while she drove with her feet.

On/Off - Character: Mischief is a very open, daring person who doesn't have many things she's not willing to try a couple of times, just to be sure she really doesn't like it.  Sexually she's adventurous and non-judgmental, but when it comes to an actual relationship, she holds her lovers at a distance.  She knows her life-span is not great and the last thing she wants is for someone she loves to have to watch her die over and over on the track, even if she comes back.  Because, everyone knows, eventually you don't come back.

Hard Offs: Vore, Gore, Snuff, Bestiality, Scat (If you're unsure, just ask!)

Wicked Emi

Lilith is as crazy as she is beautiful, large and in charge, she will eat you alive!

Player name: Wicked Emi
Character Name: Lilith l Mother of Demons l Rima Scotts
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight with pan sexual tendencies
Personality:
Lilith, first and foremost is a seducer. Her number one personality trait is the fact she loves to flirt, show off the curves she was once mocked for, and tempt anyone and everyone who looks at her. That being said, she has actually had only a handful of partners as once a person gets past her flirtatious nature, the next layer is brutality. Growing up the way she did, and getting into the races the way she did, she has an unquenchable thirst for violence that leave most worried about their safety around her. Willing to do anything to get what she wants, she is both cunning and manipulative. However, there is one person in the world that see's her softer side, the side that answers to her old name Rima, and she keeps them far away from the races. They are her weak spot, but don't think about messing with them, as she has no problem torturing anyone and everyone the person who took them might love and then take it a step further until they get them back in one piece or the last brink of her humanity is taken from her forever.

Viciously Beautiful
Lilith is popular for she is as vicious as she is beautiful and is popular on her pure insanity

Bio:
Lilith, her real name being Rima, started her life in the gutter. Her mother didn't really want her as she was pregnant when she was 15 by a boyfriend who fled. Of course, she only found this out years later and after growing up on the streets and slowly turning into basically an animal. At first, her life was okay. She was taken in by an older woman who took in all the strays, it was only later that Rima realized that one had to pay for everything one way or another once you were a "woman" or a "man". Leaving after 'MUM' sold her virginity and bashing in the guys head, that was when Lilith was born. There was no way for her to leave her poor background behind, so she wanted to try the next best thing. Racing.

No one just started in a car however, especially a 14 year old chubby girl. She was picked on relentlessly as she worked in a pit of a woman driver that had decent ratings. While the woman never got very far, she took Rima under her wing as the chub slowly turned into large pillow breasts, wide hips, and thighs that could smoother any man. It didn't take long for them to discover she was a good driver, but driving only got one so far. At 17, Rima officially became Lilith and was pushed into bare knuckled boxing and fighting and was told she would never race until she lusted for blood, that the thought of dying was not only acceptable but pushed to make it one hell of a show before her last breath, that the sound of pure mayhem was her happy dreams. Eventually, in the ring, Lilith not only learned to stop trying to make others bleed, but actually started to enjoy her.

Lilith's life was hell from the moment she was born and she takes her aggression against the world out whenever she is fighting. This lead to her become slightly psychotic and started to start fights regularly outside of the race. She is one of the few racers that attends the Paradise Fall's underground fighting. Where she can really unleash her personal hell, even seeking out the one who bought her virginity to completely and utterly obliterate him in front of her soon to be unwavering fans. Every once in a while, she will allow a fan to face her. If they can make it to round two without dying, she sleeps with them. Which sounds easy, but she has beaten many of her fans to near death in round one as she doesn't bother to hold punches, teeth, claws, or her extra toy 'Samantha'. A beautiful galaxy butterfly knife that her trainer, the driver she worked the pit for, gave to her when she took over her slot in the top 100.

Vehicle: A jeep ready to tear up the road, the dirt, the mountain, and anything in it's way to victory! With huge tires that could roll over anything, a mini gun in the very front, side blades that come out (a tribute to her trainer), and reinforced steel, Bethany can get through just about anything!
On/Off - Character: Lilith is a violent person and is the same in bed, however, she loves the struggle. She loved where the struggle of domination and loves to either fully submit until their climax to just start over again, or be the winner and fulfill her dark desires of biting, leather, and bondage. She is willing to try just about everything once except for bathroom business.

BlueEyedBard

Player name: BlueEyedBard
Character Name: Sam
Age: around 24 presumably
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi-top
Personality:
Psycho, suicidal, screw loose, gonzo, batshit! Are all words used to describe one of the more wild and reckless drivers in the Dernier Cri. He's called a renegade driver, who most fans love to hate. You get called crazy when you pay for his artillery, because you never know who the mad dog will set his sights on next, and the only thing that matches his insanity is his brutality.
When his car starts spraying fire it's best to steer clear, because he has a lust for wrecking every vehicle in his path, especially if you are high in the rankings. All said and done, with regenerations all counted up, he doesn't usually rank the highest in most races, and he doesn't really care (though he has come out high in the demolition runs in the past). But when it comes to filling that lust for carnage, Psycho Sam is your racer, and he comes with a taste for wrecking pretty cars…

Sam's an adrenaline junkie on and off the course. He doesn't like sitting idle, so if he isn't driving he's usually partying, fighting, or fucking…. He's even been spotted fucking at a party that turned into a brawl! Whatever it takes to keep his blood pumping and that high buzzing in his head. If Sam is being uncharacteristically quiet it's best to avoid him, because chances are he's on the verge of being especially violent. But that's why his fans love him.

Suicidal Psycho

Bio:
Sam was born Samuel Scott Jr, like his brother Samuel Scott Jr. II, both after their father, Samuel Scott. It was their father's choice that both his children be named after him. Their mother had no say in the matter, just like everything else in their lives.
Sam's family was poor, even by Paradise Falls standards. Their family would squat from place to place, as long as they could, then move on. All because Samuel Sr. felt adamant that working a job like everyone else was a dead end path for fools. The only thing in the world that was worth his time and energy was the Dernier Cri.
With the effort he put into getting a car, he could have afforded his family a place to live, and food to eat. But every credit he got went into his car and entry fees. Beyond that their family survived by stealing everything they could from everyone else who was suffering as much as they were.

The car that Samuel made his family suffer for didn't amount to more than a beat up, old, dune buggy with an open cab and just a roll bar in front. It did little to protect from the elements of the course and only a small boost tank. To be frank, with a car like he had, and the extremely limited upgrades he could give it, he was never expected to rise above the rank of fodder…
When it comes to racers, there are those who hold their ranks, those who tip toe the line of being invited to the Speedway, and those who are there to be crushed, smashed, trashed, burned and broken for the sake of upping the score for the real racers. They are called the fodder, and Samuel was always fodder.
But in spite of never making a cent off the races, and constantly putting his family through hardship for his dream. Samuel continued to steal. Continued to race. Continued to lose.

To say that his family resented Samuel for his addiction to the races was an understatement. Hell, to say that Sam hated his father for what he did to them, was an understatement. But when you live in Paradise Falls you have to have a wide threshold for suffering. Of course everyone has a breaking point, and Sam’s was when his mother got sick, and Samuel wasn't willing to so much as steal the most basic medicine to try and ease her pain.
When she died Samuel was competing in the Dernier Cri. When he got back, having lost again, he demanded  that they leave the body and move on before anyone got suspicious and blamed him. There wasn't anything Sam could do for the memory of his mother that day, but he learned he had a breaking point.

The very next Dernier Cri, Sam went out early and stole his father's old buggy, and bought entry with money he had tucked away from his father. With no experience even driving his odds were next to nothing, but he went in with one thing his father had never had. A weapon.
Samuel had never been able to afford one of the conventional vehicle weapons: mini gun, rocket launcher, oil slick… it was all he could do to make his car run fast enough, and Sam didn't have any more than his father. But he did benefit from his mother's ingenuity, so he brought with him a greasy, beat up bottle of pure ethanol, and an old lighter.

Now someone up high must have gotten a good laugh out of the makeshift artillery. Because halfway through the race, after Sam had been regenerated four times without making much headway, he was given access to his dirty bottle and old lighter. Right then he knew what he wanted to do. If this life was going to take everything from him, then he wasn't going to go down quietly or alone. So he worked his way up to the thick of the race, taking extra care not to get wrecked until he got his chance. When he finally made it up to neck and neck with one of the highest rated racers in the league, Golden Jesse James, he turned up the greasy bottle and filled his mouth with the foul, burning, fuel. Then he wrenched his wheel to one side so they were slammed together. After that it was a flick of his lighter, and before Golden Jesse could blink his big blue eyes, a backyard fireball ignited the inside of his car, and a golden crispy Jesse drove blazing inferno off the side of a cliff.
His wild swerving took Sam with him. But the kid felt good enough about the accomplishment.

But apparently someone else noticed the spectacle, because by the time he regenerated another backer had reloaded his old greasy bottle for him. Nobody had ever back his father, and Sam felt as excited as a pig in shit to be kicking the old man down. So he used his limited arsenal to his full advantage. Blowing more fireballs when he had the chance. Sometimes he would just throw the bottle and ignite the outside of a car. His thirst for destruction was so great, at one point he accidentally spilled the bottle in his own cab, but instead of wasting the opportunity to take another racer down, he waited for just the right moment before igniting his own car and driving the fireball of death into the side of a much larger truck.

That first run may not have pushed him up in the standings, but it did catch the attention of some backers who wanted to see what he could do with a real car. So he abandoned the old buggy (without telling his dad where), and got some new wheels and new weapons.
Soon enough his rankings began to swell and he was invited to move to the Speedway.
Sam is burning up the course more than ever, with an array of custom flamethrowers attached to his car, and as much of a lust for mayhem as ever. But now he can do much more damage….

To this day, he remains the only racer to leap out of his own vehicle, and use his body crashing through a windshield, to wreck another racer…

Vehicle:
Sam drives a smaller bodied car with a Charger feel to it. The body and engine are reinforced so as not to burn up too quickly. Large, all terrain wheels were added.
The front bumper is also equipped with a large metal cow plow, for getting underneath other racers from the side or behind and flipping them over.

Sam has equipped large flamethrowers to both sides of his car. There are also igniters on his tail pipes.
He has rigged his car to be able to spill fuel out of both tailpipes. He uses this to leave a trail behind him that he can ignite in the hopes of lighting someone up that was following in his path. The fuel can also come out in a spray to be ignited like another pair of flamethrowers behind him.

On/Off - Character: Sam is pretty wild, and pretty willing to try most things once.
Hard offs: rape, urine, scat, snuff

I'm a tidbit busy, but intrigued... and curious as to what your thoughts are concerning vehicles like monster trucks, jacked-up tricycles, or motorcycles for the racers? c: I'm leaning on the thoughts of a biker, but of course wanted to be certain that was permitted.

Hi Nyx! Glad I was able to spark an interest  ;D

The vehicles that racers can use are limited to any vehicle on wheels.
So there will be as many as 200 vehicles in any race, and all of those vehicles can range from small, two wheel dirt bikes, to huge ten wheel semi trucks, and anything in between.

Bekah Boo

Bekah Boo

Player name: Bekah Boo
Character Name:Emery Dillion
Age:26
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual (though has had a few drunken kisses with some flirty girls)

Cherry Bomb!

Personality: Unlike the other boasting racers Emery herself isn't nearly as flashy off the track, rather she tends to keep herself at a distance only opening up to a select few; and it is never anything personal. She has a certain persona that she gives off for the crowds and obviously to butter up her investors, but otherwise she consumes herself in perfecting the next brimming idea for her bike and not much else. When she does meander her way towards the club it's usually to talk strategy, following the age old theory of 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.'. Every now and again she'll tear herself from being the icy wall flower, if her interest is peeked of course, but if it doesn't involve racing it takes quite a lot to reel her in.
Bio:Emery is a mystery. No one can really remember when she came about but her trademark smoke bombs shows just how much she does want to keep herself hidden away. Perhaps later on she can find someone to help open her up of her past and what has made such a young woman like herself have a 'live to die' mentality as she does. What is for certain though is that she has fought tooth and nail to get to where she is today, as she has done terrible things, things that may creep back upon her if she isn't careful.
Vehicle:
Her Baby

Emery drives an old Harley Davidson with a VW sidecar attachment, it leaves her rather open while driving the motorcycle but the upgrades she's managed to acquire more than makes up for it. She relies more on speed as she uses the sidecar as a means to slow her down and take turns rather than the actual motorcycle itself, allowing her to lighten up the vehicle and use the car as a sort of rudder of sorts. On the handlebar she has different levers to set off her trademark smoke bombs that come spilling out of the sidecar, making her disappear in a cloud of colorful smoke and those behind her that get caught in it. It has a dual motor however which allows Emery to switch between the two, especially when she comes under heavy fire and can use the VW side to drive in slightly safer conditions.
On/Off Emery isn't afraid of anything sexual or otherwise; but despite her tough exterior she does like romantic gestures. Soft and sensual, passionate embraces, hot nibbles. Her only real OFF is anything too hardcore.

Hey everyone! Like I promised I have made a character thread for the accepted characters.

I would like for everyone to post their own character on the thread when they have been approved. Because as the game goes on I expect people will want to modify their vehicles, and add more to their roster when they have the winnings!

So those people who's characters have been accepted, please post them HERE. I will also add this link to the first post.

Those who still are thinking about making a sheet, please do! And don't be shy about any questions or thoughts you may have.

Hey there,
This is an extremely interesting concept. I can imagine a lot of the story and action will take place in the prep and buildup, behind the scenes, and the come down and consequences after a race, but how do you envision play will go once races commence? Would you have all racers start at one point, or maybe have staggered starting positions with smaller groups placed at different points? Are you considering an announcer persona to sort of set the scene and guide player-racers to some extent? That could also be great for recapping -sort of a sports highlights type of show to hype the next race.
I'm looking forward to following this one. I'll be submitting my proposed character shortly.

BlueEyedBard

Don't you call my faculties into question! Why I otta...

Hi there, and thanks for your interest! These are great questions: As far as the action for the races goes the idea is that all the cars have a running start so to speak, so they are generated directly onto the course, then after a starting countdown the racers would commence their destruction, or whatever their goal is for that race...

As for the actual gameplay, it's free to post at your own pace and there is always swarms of "fodder vehicles" around that you can feel free to smash and destroy at will. Players are also encouraged to encounter other players during a race, but you can't wreck another player without their consent. THAT SAID, I intend to highly encourage all the players to talk to each other and plan out spectacular wrecks to get each other into. Part of the fun with this game should be taking the opportunity to write out some real fun carnage, and a thing to keep in mind for this game: nobody gets away without getting wrecked and regenerated. That's all part of the fun.

The winner of each race will be selected randomly by some kind of program. Along with their pot, I've decided the winner also gets the opportunity to pick one of the other player characters that they specifically get to wreck during the race. Note: this will not be used as any kind of mean spirited, ooc bullshit. The winner will still have to communicate with that player beforehand to plan out their wreck.

As for your other question, yes actually I did have something in mind for announcers. My plan was that the announcer could be played by different people each race. For instance if one of the players was busy with life stuff and couldn't post when a race was starting, or say they prefer their character not be in a demolition race so they wanted to sit out that race. Those people would be offered the opportunity to write in the announcer commentary for that race. One of the things i think will be really nice about this game is that there are so many cars in each race, that people can step away from the game if they need to, and even come back, without it disturbing the game itself.

I hope I answered all your questions, and if there are any more I'm happy to discuss them. In the meantime I can't wait to see your character!

I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to some robotic/cybernetic implants here and there. But to be clear, these will not be superhero sorts of implants. There will be no super strong, fast, powerful characters because of a bunch of cyborg parts.
If a person in Paradise Falls were to lose an arm working on an assembly line, Providence corp. would fit them with a completely utilitarian mechanical prosthesis that would be adequate for doing their job.

Ooh nice! Haven't seen any pit crew yet. I plan on making a mechanic myself, probably once the game starts ^•^

Your other thought, high society brat, sounds like they would be from Endcliff City. So while not impossible, she would have to be extremely careful to keep her identity hidden. Because if she were discovered she would immediately lose all of her status and be forced to live in the slums of Paradise Falls, or the Speedway as she would be a good enough driver...

Hello there! And yes, we are always accepting new characters!

The only tough part about a medical professional is that, in spite of all the carnage, every wreck, and the fact that every racer quite literally dies several time each race, because of the regeneration system they are quite literally brought back without a scratch...

Where I can see a doctor or medic coming more into play would be back at the Speedway.
Racers tend to be a rather wild and crazy bunch; getting into fights, doing stupid stunts, overdosing, alcohol poisoning...
Sure as soon as the next race comes around, they will be regenerated onto the track back in their original condition. But they may need some assistance in getting by with that broken arm until then.

Feel free to message me if you want to talk it out a bit more.

I kind of like the idea of there being a kind of clinic on the Speedway, where racers can go for all sorts of medical treatments between races.  I mean, I imagine there are drag races between the Dernier Cri spectaculars, and lots of times racers will 'practice' between races, both of which can result in injuries or which would require a patch-up between races to allow for continued training or just shmoozing for backers.

BlueEyedBard

Also I can see when the mechanics and such who aren't racers get injuries, they would probably need a medical professional.

I'm not sure there's much for a 'navigator' to do, since the races are done in a kind of Colosseum and not on an open course like in Deathrace.

I personally would love one. You mean the co pilot extra person that every death race has.

BlueEyedBard

In my mind each course was pretty well mapped out. In the cases of the gate races and zone races, there are glowing areas guiding the racers through the course.

But if a driver wants a copilot to ride along with them, I don't have a problem with that. I've never been against teams on the track.

Faceclaim: Andrei Arlovski
Player name: Captain Whitebread
Character Name:Butcher
Age: 51
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Quiet, bad tempered and mean, unless approached in exactly the right way.

THE OLD VETERAN WHO IS JUST TOO TOUGH TO DIE QUIETLY

Bio:Nobody calls Butcher anything other that Butcher.  No one really knows if it is his real name, his original occupation or something he picked up along the way.  He's been a fixture in Dernier Cri for decades, slowly getting greyer but always there.  Some say he's old enough to remember The First Race; Butcher himself says nothing on the subject.   He just goes about his business unmolested, unless somebody has a death wish.  He's got a savage temper and on more than one occasion has left a cocky young Racer on the ground in a puddle of his own body fluids using nothing but his two fists.  The number who claim to have witnessed these events could fill a small stadium.

No one knows where he came from or when he joined the race; he's just always been there.  What people do know is that he can fix almost anything (for a price), doesn't trust the Providence Corporation any further than he can throw it and is a fervent supporter of empowering the poor.  It’s made him a few enemies but he’s remarkably difficult to kill.

Vehicle: The Butcher's Block

According to rumour, Butcher salvaged the vehicle from a skirmish with a wannabe racer pack, pulling and pushing it the seven miles back to his garage and taking almost three years to get it working as well as he wanted it to.  Now is seats four, can hit 170 mph on straight level ground and has a back-up electric drive that will run it for several hours but at less than half speed.  Butcher doesn't trust the electric system but if he's anything, he's practical.  According to all reports, the Butcher’s Block has never regenerated.

He uses refined diesel fuel to run the vehicle, either  when he is racing in the Dernier Cri or running information or supplies to different parts of Avalon.

The steel skin is a 1/4“ thick and sheds most small arms, as well as being fireproof and capable of being pounded back into shape if someone manages to dent it.  The steel jaws are powered by hydraulics; there isn’t much they can’t crush, assuming it can fit inside the open mouth.  They also conceal a flamethrower that belches napalm.  Butcher uses it as a last resort because it blocks his vision for a few precious seconds and makes him drive through his own field of fire.  He can lay down an oil slick or, if things are truly desperate, he can drop his entire electric drive system as a makeshift barricade or one shot weapon.

Bio:
My story? Oh eesh, well that might take a while… I suppose I’ll try to keep this as short and sweet as possible. My father, as he always said, named me Mercedes because it would have been the car he owned hadn't I taken root in my mother so quickly. Incidentally, my little brother's name is Bentley - but that’s neither here nor there.

To help give you a better understanding I’ll start out with a bit of family background story time. While I grew up in one of the most beautiful provinces Avalon had to offer, it was also once one of the most criminally influenced. Endcliff was, and still is, the capital and home for the Carnella syndicate and harbors over 20 known Carnella clans within its borders and the surrounding area. The Earhart family, my family that is ;) , had deep roots among the Carnella and held several of the clans beneath their thumb once. I know this because my father is ridiculously proud of his heritage. -eye roll.- Regardless, while the Carnella’s hands still aren’t quite clean, they are more of a conglomerate corporation consisting of multiple subsidiaries - the clans - and a board of directors these days.

As such, my young life consisted of a variety of dangerous politics, of which I had little say or sway in. I was not treated unlike many of the women born into the Carnella, and unlike my brothers, whom would be groomed to one day run the family business, I was taught that my own contribution consisted of little more than growing in beauty and grace. To them, it was important that I eventually secure a powerful husband - A horrible little slime-ball of a brat from Dominion Inc. at that - and bear him powerful sons. Gross...

Unfortunately for them, I, Mercedes Earhart, was a natural born rebel. They thought they were producing a beautiful young lady – a wonderful bargaining chip – but I didn’t see myself in the same light. Early on I had to learn to play my cards carefully – present my family with the vision of everything they wanted me to be. That way they wouldn’t feel like they had to keep a close eye on me. You could only imagine their surprise, and complete lack of delight, when they discovered me among the ‘abhorrent riffraff’ actively sabotaging their industry.

Anyways, it didn’t take them long to realize that this wasn’t just a first time occurrence. A little bit of investigating, a couple thousand dollars later and they suddenly realized their little princess wasn’t quite as perfect as they thought… To put it simply, I’d been hanging out with what they considered ‘swill’ for years now. So I was ultimately given an ultimatum. Either I became the cultured corporate-princess bride they had been grooming me all my life to become or lose everything I ever had. Sadly, in my eyes the two were not mutually exclusive. If I chose the latter I knew I would lose my entire family, but if I chose the first, not only would I be sacrificing my principles, but any dream of freedom and independence I had ever had. So I made the only choice I really could make.

So... naturally my parents kicked me out, cut off my funds, and forced the entire family to turn their backs on me. Yeah… And it didn’t exactly stop there either. I became a social outcast within my own class, painted out to be some harlot that was brainwashed into betraying her family. Whatever, fine. - but do you know what I did first? Pierced my eyebrow, got a couple of tattoos and dyed my hair fluorescent fucking pink. Why? Because fuck them. If they’re not holding my balls hostage by the pocketbook anymore then I don’t have to follow their stupid rules either, right?

But... I probably should have thought a little longer on that Where’s Waldo Tattoo…

Ahem, anyways, It didn’t really take me long to realize what they had actually done to me. No, I’m not talking about the funds and abandonment and all that - that’s a whole different bag of fun. I’m talking about the way they raised me. The way they sheltered me. The way they censored the world and hid reality from me like mom hid her vibrator from dad. All these years they weren’t just grooming me to be a lady, they were grooming me to be completely dependent on them. They wanted to be my drug and my dealer all at once. It was a control thing, and I was quickly discovering just how tough the world was when you were off the leash. I had no real marketable skills... Paying bills was a whole new concept to me. So was living without a tab - Thanks for blacklisting me, Dad! I mean, I hung out with ‘peasants’ before, but I really had no idea just how freaking tough they had it!

Nothing like hoping out of the frying pan and into the fire, huh…? Now I'm on one of my homie's pit crews. Guess I got that exciting life I was dreaming of!

Miss Shayla
Player name: Rel Mayer
Character Name: Miss Shayla
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality:

Miss Shayla is cool and collected at most times. She's the type of woman that was born into the world of luxury and had pleasantly stayed there for a while. She enjoys the spotlight on her, people listening to her instructions, and doesn't mind doing what it takes to get people and cars to submit to her wrath so she can win a race. She's known for mental mind games with her racers, and also playing dirty. People can always guarantee that there will be a gruesome mess if Miss Shayla really wants to win the race.

She's a crowd favorite, even if she doesn't quite win all of the races. People seem to be drawn toward her attitude, regal look, and sometimes punishing demeanor. She's more popular with the younger crowd, because the older crowd knows there is something lurking under there. Something not quite right with Miss Shayla, like she's hiding something behind her entitled attitude. But, they usually look aside because she has that old fashioned feel to her, combined with calm eyes that always feel like they're ten steps ahead of people. Yet somehow, always, under her thumb.

The secret known to very, very few is that she's from Endcliff City.

Bio:

Miss Shayla grew up in Endcliff City. Her childhood was perfect and she had no reason to want for anything in her entire life. Technology gave her everything she could ever need or aspire to want, and she learned skills with the finest education. The woman went through very few hardships, and was pleasantly spoiled most of her life. She liked having control of things like her schedule. What she wore. At a young age, she had quite an interest for only wearing the colors black. She said it made her feel like one of those 'cool cats' from the old movies. Fashion was readily available.

A lot of people wonder why she would resort herself to participating in races, but she liked the thrill. Even as a child people thought that something was off with her. She wasn't afraid to play a mental game that would cause a young kid to continually slap themselves into tears when she was a child. Or manipulating small minded children of her youth to kiss the ground that her poised feet walked on. As an adult, she realized that the true power came from how people were willing to respect you. This was when Shayla realized she loved being worshiped.

The perfect avenue was the races. To be famous, like one of the racers trying to become who she was, and to risk their lives. Be all over the television. It was perfect, plus she could see a blood mess along the way. It was odd for a woman who looked out for control in so many things -- suddenly became addicted to the thrill. She's not the best, but she'll bloody damn try her hardest. She had to hide her face with a large hat that casts a shadow on half from people like her parents or others recognizing her, but it's worth it to hide her pretty face.

She cares little for anything else that goes on the outside, but she's learned to accept people who get accepted to live among her class. She doesn't waste her thoughts with politics and social. No one knows her secret, but a few close friends in Endcliff who wouldn't dare to say. However, with events on the horizon... she may be forced to reckon with it.

Vehicle:

Black Beauty

Usually there are guns hoisted on the top of the car that she can use. A very important ashtray for her cigarettes while she smokes.

On/Off - Character: Missy is primarily dominant with a preference toward submissive women. She's known to take a few men to bed, but rarely does she not like being the one in control in sexual and social situations. Also, read O&O in the signature for specifics.

Hello everyone, the first race in our wild and crazy, smash-tacular killapalooza, has ended!
So how about some highlights for those at home, huh?

All of our racers were in great form on the abandoned airfield today, and if there wasn't enough scrap metal laying around the track, there is now!
The race started with a bang as all the competitors began wrecking the fodder cars right out of the gate! Both Sam and the Butcher left quite a trail of wreckage behind them, not that you were able to see much of the course once Cherry Bomb, Emery Dillion, started covering it in her smoke bombs!

Mischief, Danika, and Miss Shayla came out the door ready to impress with their wild  and breathtaking control of the road! But as always, it was the showboating that attracted the attention of more bloodthirsty drivers...

The real action started when the Butcher set his sight on the Cherry Bomb! There was another cloud of smoke and another taste of her namesake cherry bombs. But it wasn't long before the Butcher's Block was wrapping its jaws around Emery's signature bike, but not before the Cherry Bomb filled his gullet with an explosive appetizer!!

But that wasn't the only action on the track, as Mischief and Miss Shayla set their eyes on each other and a wild game of chicken! But Cherry Bomb reared her explosive head again, as some of her wild bombs rolled right in the middle of their head on collision! Leaving the Mischief’s ATV doing a barrel roll into Shayla and her muscle car.

It was a wild and crazy first race, and it's only the first of many to come! If you want to be apart of this, it's never too late. Fill out a CS and send it in to me! You could join the racers as they relax and celebrate their most recent race, and get ready for the next incredible event of the Dernier Cri!!

I am interested in putting a face claim on Boyd Holbrook and should be making a driver in the next day or two.  Looks like a lot of fun.

Thinking of using a modified Terradyne Gurhka as his ride as well.

Not sure if this was asked or not, but is there any sort of organized crime elements in the Paradise Falls?

So as far as organized crime goes, I expect Paradise Falls would be rife with crime of all kinds. But when it comes to a gang, syndicate, or mob like presence, the thing to keep in mind is that the biggest criminal organization in Avalon in Providence Corp, in that they are so powerful anything they do is legal, or at least is once they make it legal. Compared to them any other criminal organization is going to be like the "49th street locos" compared to the Illuminati.

What I'm getting at is while they may cause trouble for those in Paradise, anything they are able to do would be beneath the notice of Providence or even Endcliff City.
So, since Providence controls the Dernier Cri, any Paradise Falls crime ring would have no ability to effect the races.

Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense.  And also fits nicely into where my head is at for my character design. Thank you!
