Ok, so I'm looking to start up a game centered around a pirate ship, it's crew, their captives, and their misadventures/raids/sexy times/etc. That they experience. Ideally this game will be full of action, fighting, drinking, and sex (both consensual and non-consensual).

Should enough interest be shown I'd be open to having more than one pirate ship/crew take place in the story but I'll probably need the help of a co-gm (taking on the role of the captain of the other vessel) if that happens. That having been said I'm looking to capture a mix of realism, popular conception, and some (small) amounts of fantasy with this setting. Basically think along the lines of Pirates of the Caribbean being rated R/X/NC-17 with slightly lest fantastical elements. If this idea interests you I invite you to say so. In order to get started I'll probably need the following as far as players. Also, I'll be allowing female pirates and we can assume that while not as common as male ones, they are still not exceedingly rare in our setting.

Captain Maximilian Mondego Played By Urbanzorro:The man in charge of the crew.

1st Mate Tyree Barrington Played By Juggtacular: The second in command of the crew. Has command of the ship when the Captain is not aboard, and is normally charged with leading other members of the crew. This one needs to be filled

Master At Arms(Open) :The crew-member in charge of instilling discipline and order aboard ship. I'll need someone to fill this role as well.

Quarter Master Nathan William Jackson Played By Holmes: The crewman/woman charged with steering the ship during most situations.

Boatswain(Open): The deck chief charged with making sure all the deck hands do their jobs correctly.

Doctor Adela Elizabeth Davenport: Played By xSnorkleRainbow

Lookout/Cartographer  Ying Played By Pipaluk

Navigator Leiha Played By CurvyKitten

Doctor's Apprentice Annette Lane Played By Deathnote

Captive of the Crew(Open) Someone taken by the crew during a raid or about to be taken during the game's opening. We'll need at least one of these but hopefully more.

Captive of the Crew(Open): Someone taken by the crew during a raid or about to be taken during the game's opening. We'll need at least one of these but hopefully more.

Captive of the Crew(Open): Someone taken by the crew during a raid or about to be taken during the game's opening. We'll need at least one of these but hopefully more.

It should be noted that the above list does not represent the limit for how many people can play, but is just a list of the different possible roles. For instance while we can only have one Captain, 1st Mate, etc. We can always have more than three captives or more than two assorted crew members/officers. And here is our character sheet.

Here's Some Info on the World Our Characters Will Live in.

The World

Our game will take place in a slightly romanticized version of the golden age of piracy.  The majority of the aspects of our game’s reality are the exact same as the actual historical time period.  This section will hopefully help give everyone a good idea of some of the differences and of the basic feel of the game.

Important Forces on The Seas

While nowhere near the only groups in existence, these are by far the most influential when it comes to power on the seas. As such while they need not be obeyed, every good pirate should at least have a measure of respect for the danger they can bring to one who becomes a thorn in their side.  In our world these nations, while not currently in open war, are constantly at one another’s throats and attempting to obtain dominance over each other.  As such, ‘skirmishes’, between vessels of each nation are relatively common place. In short there’s a lot more military vessels and naval battles taking place on the seas then there were in the real world.

The British Empire : Widely agreed as upon as having the strongest navy in the world (after the defeat of the Spanish armada in the 16th century). Great Britain is a true force to be reckoned with. They have a reputation for fiercely protecting any ships in government service. In combat they tend to make use of conventional formations and the use of long range cannon fire to cripple enemy ships often before their targets can even fire back.

France While they do not boast as large a navy as the English, the French have taken to making extensive use of privateers.  Essentially pirates with the official backing of the French government these forces are known to utterly disregard many of the conventions of ‘civilized’ naval warfare and do anything it takes to achieve their victory.

Spain Spain has a vested interest in the waters off the coast of South America and within the Caribbean. The massive numbers of ships laden with gold and silver from their colonial holdings also mean that their waters can always be expected to have a strong military presence. In combat they tend to focus on aggressive tactics, focusing on pushing towards the enemy at full speed where their ship's generally larger size(and thus larger number of cannons) can make the most difference.

Science & Reason

'We are learning more and more of the world every day my friend. At this rate I fear there may be scant few mysteries for our children to wonder over.'  - A barroom discussion between a doctor and a sailor

For the most part science has made the same progress in the game’s world as it has in the real world. Since our game takes place during the 1700s, the technology level is on par with this time.

Weapons

Flintlock pistols and rifles, are the pinnacle of firearm technology. A good sword is still very useful in battle, especially after the first shots have been fired and those with guns must reload.  In addition explosives, such as the crude grenades of the time era, do exist. BUT they are quite unstable and can prove just as dangerous to the user as to their intended targets.

An important thing to note about guns of this period is, due to the way a flintlock pistol works, getting your weapon wet is a good way to make it unfireable until it has been dried. This means that during heavy rains pistols and rifles will be extremely difficult to use, if usable at all.

The Charted Seas
Most of the world’s waters have now been charted. Even though there are still some areas that have not been mapped, they are few in number and growing fewer every year.

Known Species
With each new discovery of an island mankind’s knowledge of the species he shares his world with grows. This continuous discovery of new species has given rise to rumors of other things, such as mermaids, lizard men, and other such fantastical creatures. As such there has been no real definitive evidence of such being existing. Though rumors of mermen and mermaids being native to the seas of America have been growing in number for many years.

Magic & Mystery

Not everything is in those books of yours, some things defy explaining-A barroom conversation between a doctor and a sailor.

Magic
Many people still believe that there is some magic in the world. While things such as wizards and spells that create walls of fire have been proven to be nothing but fantasy, the idea of curses, witch doctoring, and other such acts which call upon the power of the unknown are still considered to be real.

Ghosts
While no one knows exactly what lies beyond this world, nearly every person living in these times does believe that there is something. This means that the idea of ghosts and spirits is widely regarded as having a basis in reality. Especially amongst sailors.

Ships of the Sea

Ship Classes

Since it would be far too complicated and in depth to list every possible class of ship that could be sailing the seas during this time period(and trust me I tried O.O), I’m instead going to post up a list of broad ‘classes’ and every ship in our game will fall into one of these classes. This will ideally help everyone have the same concepts for the relative size of ships in the game. This class system is meant to be simple and easy to use rather than 100% historically accurate. So please keep that in mind.
Military Classes
These classes of ship are purposefully built for warfare on the high seas
Man-Of-War . The largest sized and smallest numbered class of ships. They are the prestige ships of any nation’s navy. As the largest class of warship, men-of-war boast at least three gun decks, this gives them extreme levels of firepower. They also have very large crews, making them difficult for smaller ships to successfully board. This means that, more often than not, they are easily a match for any ship in the water. Their only drawback is that their large size tends to make them less maneuverable and slightly slower than smaller classes of shipping.
Ship of The Line: While not as large as Men-of-War, Ships of The Line are much more numerous and tend to make up the backbone of a nation’s navy. They most often have two gun decks, though occasionally they can be up-gunned to support three gun decks. While still designed to primarily focus on firepower and armor, Ships of The Line are slightly faster than Men-of-War. A well-orchestrated Line of Battle consisting of Ships of The Line is a difficult force to defeat or outrun.
Frigate Designed to offer an optimal balance of speed, durability, and firepower Frigates are only slightly smaller than Ships of The Line. They can carry between one and two gun decks, though carrying two gun decks often comes at the sacrifice of some of the armor found on a Ship of The Line. This means that they can often match a Ship of The Line in either firepower or armor, but not both.  The Frigate’s true strength is shown in its primary role as a commerce raider and escort ship since their speed insures that very few if any ships they engage, whether they be merchant ships or retreating military vessels, can actually make good an escape.
Sloop-of-War The smallest class of warships, sloops-of-war are designed for speed above all  else. With only one gun deck and light armor sloops take on the role of dedicated skirmishers within naval engagements. Using their speed to approach enemy ships, fire off a single volley, and then pull out of range before doing it all again. They have also been known to be used alongside frigates when pursuing merchant ships and damaged vessels attempting to escape a battle.
Merchant/Non-Military Classes
These are ship classes that are not intended for use naval combat. Most such ships are still armed and can defend themselves but they are not as effective as warship designs.
Galleon A class of large merchant ships, many of these vessels were originally military ships that have become obsolete and unsuited for military service. They can support a single gun deck but are generally slower and less well armored then ships of a similar size.  They can transport passengers but are more often used to carry large amounts of goods.
Merchant Man These are smaller merchant ships, they rarely have gun decks at all, they can transport both passengers and cargo with equal ease.

The Vendetta

The Vendetta is a heavily modified Frigate class ship. Before she entered the service of Max and his band of pirates she was a commerce raider. Designed and equipped to be fast enough to run down enemy merchant ships and sink them if need be.  In order to better fit her new lifestyle, The Vendetta has been fitted with an additional gun deck, bringing her total to two gun decks. She has also been stripped of some of her armor in order to further increase her speed. While her rigging has been reworked to require a smaller crew than she was originally intended for, all of these things combine to create a ship that is ideally suited for running down and preying upon weaker ships while her maneuverability and firepower means that in the hands of a skilled crew and captain she can theoretically hold her own against any class as large as a ship of the line, but she is extremely outmatched against a man-of-war.
Important Areas of The Vendetta

Thanks to Rahzilla for the diagram of the ship's interior
These are the areas of the ship where player interactions are most likely to take place. Other places may be used but these will most likely be the primary ones
The Deck This is the upper level of the ship, it includes the main deck, the poop deck, and the quarter deck. It can also be seen and heard from the rigging and vise versa.
The Rigging The areas above the deck, within the ropes and platforms of the ship’s masts. It can be seen and heard from The Deck and vise versa
The Galley The kitchen and main dining area of the ship this is where most crew members would take their meals.
The Medical Quarters A fully stocked (for the standards of the time) medical room. It also boasts and attached cabin for the ship's doctor to make their home in.
The Brig The ship's prison. It consists of a single large cell for holding more than one person as well as two smaller cells for holding between one and two people. There is also a small interrogation room attached to the brig.
The Hold The area of the ship used to store goods and cargo.
The Gun Decks The areas of the ship devoted to the storing of cannon and ammunition for said cannons. When not in combat the cannons are lashed in place and the gun decks are normally quite empty, with the exception of those stationed on watch over the gun decks.
The Lower Decks The lower areas of the ship, these are the Orlop deck and the Bilge. They are normally dark, damp, and not the cheeriest places to be.
Captains Quarters The captain's rooms within the ship they are within the aftcastle of the ship and take of a good portion of said area.
Officers' Quarters These are the personal quarters of individuals aboard the ship who have earned the rights to private rooms. Such as the 1st Mate, the Master-At-Arms, and other higher ranking members of the crew.
Crew Quarters: The area of the ship meant to house the lower ranked members of the crew. It is normally crowded with bunks, crew members, and personal lockers.

Not sure how open to this idea you are, but I might be interested in playing a captive of the crew who is a nurse/doctor. I'm thinking based on the time, that perhaps she was a nurse, but picked up a lot of skills from the doctor she assisted. I'm mostly interested for a scene that popped into my mind, and I thought the character would be fun to play:

After some battle, the captive nurse is stitching up a big, burly pirate who is threatening/harassing her. With a slight smile, she sticks him with the needle a little roughly, and points out that, "it's unwise to threaten the person trying to piece you back together."

It obviously needs to be fleshed out more, but I think playing a captive that becomes the de-facto doctor for the crew would be fun. The Hippocratic Oath and what-not.

I want to make a captive that's a shark man. He can be useful for assisting in taking out sea monsters like giant krakens or serpents (or even other ships).  :-)

I think a shark man may be a bit too far into the realm of fantasy than I'm wanting to take this one. I'm seeing things like actual curses, ghosts, and maybe mermaids of some kind(done similarly to the mermaids in pirates of the carabean, in that they can walk on land but still need water/air/etc) as being about as far as I'd want the game to go from  reality.

Would you have any interest in a male merchant type that was captured?  Obviously he'd have little military value, though would have very decent knowledge of where best to unload certain goods.  Plus, having been the captain of even a modest merchant vessel, there would be reason to expect a worthwhile ransom.

Sounds like someone we could fit in. He could even be the captain of the first ship we hit in game. Which is how I intend to start the game out.

A good pirate story can't be beat. Quick note on the positions, tho - the coxswain or helmsman is the one who steers the ship. The quartermaster is the one who is in charge of stores, provisions, and sharing out the booty. He's really the 2nd in command to the captain.

This is true, though honestly on pirate ships the ranking was (from what I've read) even more complicated than that given that they were very democratic in most things. That having been said it's one of the areas where I chose a ranking system that was easier to relate to given pop culture, rather than a historically accurate one. So for the sake of our game we will be sticking with the ranks as established in the opening post.

Quartermasters decided how much the captain got paid, and made a lot of important logistical decisions, but I don't think they had proper rank.

I've created my character page. I think my character might get introduced to the story along with the merchant captive. I put in the position how she came aboard. She's a doctors apprentice who was travelling on the merchant's ship to continue her studies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Annette Lane
by Pipaluk
Age 24
Gender Female
Orientation Strait; doesn't know anything else.
Appearance Details: No tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, etc. Annette is clean in that department.
Position Annette is a doctor's apprentice who was aboard a small merchant ship travelling for France where she was to continue her training. The ship was boarded by pirates where she was taken captive.
Personality Annette is shy, but strong willed. She keeps her thoughts to herself for the most part and only speaks when she believes it necessary. She is proud and thinks she's just as smart as anyone, but she'd never directly admit it; she'd merely think it to herself when other people have differing opinions.
She doesn't have any real sexual experience. She's never really had the opportunity and it's expected that women remain “proper.” That doesn't stop her from being curious, but in a distant sort of way. She must maintain the aura of propriety, but inside, she secretly desires to explore her sexuality.
Biography Annette grew up in a rather poor home, her little sister was often sick and Annette was fascinated with the doctor's work. As a young girl, she would help the doctor out whenever he was around. Eventually, she began to follow him to other houses and help him wherever he went. He found that the young girl had capacity for learning and though there weren't many women in the field, he funded her schooling and helped set up an apprenticeship.
Talents & Skills: Annette is well educated in the classics and anatomy. She is a doctor's apprentice and can do almost anything in the medical field. She also isn't afraid of trying new/untested techniques.
Weapons/Equipment Only her wit.
Character's Ons: She'll say nothing for appearance sake, but she really doesn't know; and likely is turned on by quite a bit.
Character's Offs: She'll say everything for appearance sake, but she is really curious and doesn't know.
Player's Ons: Teasing/Humiliation; One thing that I think would be really fun for this character is a scene where one or two of the pirate's force her out of her comfort zone and force her to admit she wants to try something sexual; despite her attempts and maintaining “proper.
Player's Offs: Anything is fair game? See my o/o's page for more: https://elliquiy.com/forums/onsoffs.php?u=45464

Adela Elizabeth Davenport
by xSnorkleRainbow
Age: 24 Years.
Gender: Female.
Orientation: Heterosexual.
Appearance Details: Adela has an ugly, long scar on her lower abdomen from a badly preformed cesarean. She appears very delicate, standing at only 5'2" with a slender frame.
Position: Crew Doctor - Dealing with crew and captives alike.

Personality: Adela is calm, tender and caring; what one would expect of a Doctor, though maybe not a doctor aboard a Pirate ship. Despite being curious, she isn't intrusive or reckless. She remains calm under pressure most of the time and always completes her tasks to the best of her ability. Whenever she is stressed, hurt or upset she isn't one to seek out companionship; Adela is the type to bottle up her real emotions and sometimes that can make her hard to get to know. She can be quite maternal and this makes her a good listener if anybody has problems they want to share. When it comes to relationships and friendships, Adela can be somewhat guarded when it comes to strangers, men in particular. That being said, she knows deep down that not all men are like the ones who have previously hurt her, but she is still very cautious. Ultimately she wants to run away from her old life but this leaves her feeling very lonely and out of control.

Biography: Adela was born to a British family in a small harbor town over looking the beautiful sea; it's Harbor was the towns main source of new trade. Her father and mother owned a small clinic on the sea front and their clientele often included stray soldiers and occasional pirates, as well as many other citizens of the town who needed medical care. She doesn't remember a time when she wasn't in the family clinic. In fact, she was often roped into helping out from an extremely young age. It was safe to assume that she would follow in her parents footsteps. Adela didn't feel that she had much of a say in the matter; it was something she'd grown up doing and it was the obvious choice to help out and eventually take over.

As she grew older, Adela started to do more and more at the clinic, until she was there most of the time and could even handle shifts by herself. The clinic's clientele wasn't without its fair share of troublemakers; they didn't turn anybody in need away. One night, Adela was alone on a late shift; her parents were out for an anniversary dinner and they left her in charge of the clinic. It was late and things were slow, she was considering closing up early when two drunken British soldiers stumbled through her doors. One was bleeding from his shoulder and the other was laughing and joking about how it all happened. As usual, she cleaned the man up and dressed his wounds before sending him and his friend on their way. Only they refused to leave. No amount of alcohol excused what they did next. It was the worst experience of her life; they violated her, raped her inside her own clinic, practically her home, after over powering her. They were so drunk, the breathes against her face threatened to intoxicate her as well as they hunched over her. The girl was only nineteen years old at the time. What was worse? She conceived that night. Adela wasn't aware of it right away, but it became apparent that she was pregnant in the following months. She had the worst case of morning sickness she'd ever seen out of all the pregnant women she'd helped in the clinic. Adela carried the baby almost to full term. Upon the arrival of her due date there were complications and she had to have an emergency cesarean, which was preformed in some half burnt out building by a man who claimed to be a complete professional. It was traumatic to say the least, even more so when the baby was pulled from her unmoving. After the man patched her up, horribly I might add, she was left there with her stillborn child in a puddle of blood and in complete agony. It was a miracle she survived the birth. Adela never stepped a foot inside after her childbirth; She didn't know what to do with herself for months. Adela never told her parents; not telling her father was the biggest regret of her life. Adela's father passed away almost a year later of an illness that had spread rapidly, seemingly out of nowhere, throughout the town and her mother closed down the family clinic. When she decided to be brave and tell her mother of the ordeal she went through, things continued downhill. Her mother was disgusted with her, called her horrible names and treated her like scum.

After having put up with her mothers verbal and mental abuse for weeks, Adela found herself pining for a life away from the small harbor town she used to love. She found herself seeking out a placement on a Pirate ship; she could get away from her town and be out at sea, never having to deal with the pain she'd experienced ever again. She had never thought about adventure, never needed it, but the prospect of the open sea as well as doing what she loved, helping people, was something she would later seek out.

Talents & Skills: Adela is a highly skilled doctor and is well versed in biology and the human anatomy. She has been training for her position all her life and is therefore experienced with most techniques and such. She is also one heck of a masseuse.
Weapons/Equipment: Adela isn't well versed with weaponry, but she does keep a small dagger concealed on her person most of the time. It's quite an old thing; she'd picked it up before setting sail and becoming a member of the crew. It's nothing special. (She would possibly be interested in learning how to defend herself.)

Character's Ons: Romance, Passionate Partners, Seduction, Teasing, Biting, Scratching, Foreplay, People who know what they want, Water Scenes.
Character's Offs: Non-Con (not adverse to it happening to her in the game), Extreme Bondage, Anal, Bathroom Play, Cannibalism, Pregnancy, Needle Play, Weak willed partners, Timid Characters.
Player's Ons: I'd like to see Adela eventually open up and fall in love with someone aboard the ship (be them captive or crew.) That being said, I'm not against her being involved in non-con and other such relationships.
Player's Offs: [ Please look at my My O/O's! for more info. ]

Pipaluk

I had originally set up my character to be the de facto doctor for the crew after being captive, but I think having another doctor in place would be fun. Your character looks interesting and I can see some fun plots developing.

In particular, the personality I want my character to have is sort of a silent haughty type. She looks with contempt on others and thinks of herself as better. She would view your character as a lesser doctor. More like a medic, than her academic track simply because she is the doctor for a pirate crew. Obviously real doctors like Annette plans to be work in city hospitals. Medics work in the army and at sea. And only the lowest of the low must work as the doctor for a pirate crew. At least that's how she'd immediately view your character.

Eventually, once my character gets over herself, perhaps they'd be close friends. Let me know what you think.

I thought you might, so I was actually going to ask until I saw that your character was an apprentice. Maybe after MC tends to yours and finds out more about her, she could talk the Captain into letting her be apart of the crew under her care. That way, they could eventually work together and become friends (:

Here's our captain.

Maximilian Mondego aka "Lucky Max"
by Urbanzorro
Age 32
Gender Male
Orientation Heteroflexible (He is willing to have his way with just about any person who is feminine enough to spark his interests)
Appearance Details: Max possesses a small scar on his right shoulder, the remnants of a shrapnel wound long forgotten.
Position Captain
Personality As a result of his upbringing and military experiences Maximilian is normally a quite man, he tends to speak with a calm authority towards nearly everyone he meets. He rarely every seems to have doubts about any course of action he is taking. Those who have not known him long most often receive the impression that he is aloof and detached from his emotions. But those who know him well understand that this is simply the image he wishes to project, he has a violent temper when pushed to his limits and has been known to hold vendettas against those he feels have wronged or insulted him.
Biography Maximilian was born the son of a relatively low ranking noble family. As such he wanted for very little if anything while growing into a man. His education consisted of philosophy, literature, mathematics, and every other skill that a nobleman was expected to possess. He was brought up in the Mondego tradition, with the idea that his loyalty was, and always should be, first and foremost to his family.

By the time Maximilian had reached the age of 14 war had once again come to Europe and, as was expected by his family's tradition of service to the crown, Maximilian joined the military. His branch of choice being the navy. Throughout the war Maximilian proved himself an excellent sailor and eventually showed a strong aptitude for both tactical and strategic planning when it came to naval warfare. So much so that at war's end Maximilian had been given command of a small ship which was to be the first stepping stone to greater glories.

But all this came to an end with the advent of peace, the navy was slowly but surely downsized. And eventually Max's commission was 'forgiven' and his term of service to the crown was considered at an end. It was around this same time that the Mondego family suffered a great tragedy. In a well planned political maneuver another family managed to bring the Mondegos to shame and acquire the vast majority of their estate. With no other option left to him, Max's father took the "Gentleman's Escape" one night in the reading room of the family's house. Max's grief stricken mother followed shortly their after.

With no one remaining and nothing left to him but vast amounts of anger and rage Maximilian gathered what little funds he could, made his way to the nearest port city, and 'acquired' a ship. He has spent the last four years of his life as a lawless pirate on the seas. Living by no other code than his own, taking what he wants from whomever he wants at any time he so desires. In that time he has managed to acquire quite the reputation as a skilled pirate.
