Kay.  Due to lack of edit in response, I'm sorry, Ruby, but I'm going to have to drop you.  I can't have players that don't care to work with the GM slowing my game down and making it die.

With this, there is now a spare spot.  Box, you are welcome to post a character here for approval.

QuoteMirralee "Lee" Sandoval

Age: 24

Height: 152.4 cm (5'7")
Weight: 58.1 kg (~128 lbs)

Physical Description:
Lee is an attractive woman of Indian descent.  She is fit and has an outward confidence.  Her straight black hair is usually worn in a pony tail and her dark eyes seem to take in everything.  She will generally dress in grey or brown pants, a tank top or a fitted long sleeve shirt and a pair of sturdy boots.  Mirralee will always have a sidearm and if on a mission she will likely carry a jian as well as an assorment of firearms.

Short Bio:
Born on one of the outter worlds, which one she does't rightly remember, Mirralee was orphaned at the age of 8.  Years later she would learn that her parents had joined the resistance and were killed when an alliance cruiser opened up on their small freighter.  After her parents death, she was taken in by her aging uncle, a smuggler and gun runner.  She lived and grew up aboard his ship, The Devil's Tale.  Early on she learned the ins and outs of flying from the wayward old man, but it wasn't until Jarick came aboard that she truly came to life.  Lee was 14 when Jarick joined the ragtag crew.

Jarick was a mercenary, plan and simple, but to Lee he was a god and she followed him around like a puppy.  He didn't take kindly to the girl following him about initially, but eventually he learned to accept it and put her to work.  The crew would whisper about the uses a man like Jarick would have for a young girl in his cabin as Jarick taught her to field strip and clean a weapon.  They would cast accusing glances when the pair returned from two days of range practice planetside.  All in all there were many suspicions about the their relationship, but nothing to substantiate any claims of inproprietey.  In the five years Jarick spent with the crew of the Devils' Tale, he gave Mirralee a thorough education in firearms, basic explosives, simple tracking and even sword fighting.  The last time Lee saw her mentor he was being placed under arrest by the Feds on Bellerophon, she never learned the charges and has not heard from him since.

Lee left her Uncle's ship at 22 and has since attempted to hire herself out as a weapons specialist.  As it turns out, folk generally laugh in the face of a young woman who wants to be paid for her martial skills, so she has fallen back on her piloting knowlegde to make ends meet.  She has had a fair string of luck at that and has recently hired on with the Desolate Hope.

Personality
Mirralee keeps to herself most of the time.  She hasn't spent a lot of time learning about people, preferring instead to learn about ways to kill them.  Conversations with her are generally a little strained, but if you get to know her she can be friendly, even a little silly sometimes.  There is an innocence hidden deep within her.  On a bad day or in a stressful situation she will often clam up.  She can be impulssive, but in combat she is decisive and competant. At the end of the day, her isolation makes her feel lonely, but she has had enough family torn away from her that she has a hard time believing that anyone will be around for very long.

Approved, Endiemyon.

Writing up a character sheet naow!

Name: Jenavie 'Jin' Fenton

Age: 28

Height: 5'9
Weight: 140lbs
Picture:

Brief History: She was born, she grew, the companion's guild became her life. She was one of the smoothest, caring, and loving companions there is. She was also a diligent worker. For a long time, Jin did nothing but work and have fun, amassing money and just generally enjoying life. When she was nineteen, she fell in love, and as all relationships with companions go... it exploded. It exploded spectacularly, even. Shortly after that, she had become a bit bitter. She began to gamble, and lose, especially due to her bad luck. Thankfully her gifted tongue and mastery of languages had been there to bail her out. So she started moving... a lot. It was always the same story, really. She would settle down, she'd get unhappy, the gambling, stealing, and cheating would start. Then she would eventually lose, and escape into a crowd, disappearing in it. So, she decided to join a crew, and spend a lot less time around these types of situations while she tried to figure out why she can't get over her 'one true love', and why she did the things she did. So, after her yearly check up on Ariel, she spread the word, and was pointed to the Desolate Hope.

Personality: She's prideful, bitter, cunning, coy, and smooth. All at once. Her words flow like silk when they need to calm, and stab like daggers when she needs to incite anger. She's amazing at pretending to be other people, and even better at disappearing into crowds of people. Jin can get into anywhere, whether it be with her silver tongue or her dexterous fingers.

Skills: Martial Arts, Music, Languages, Pickpocketing/Stealing, Losing money, Sex.
Position: Registered Companion

Other Facts:
-Jin likes to be dressed well a lot of the time, except in absolute private.
-Jin loves and hates the guild, as she blames it on ruining her one relationship and making others impossible.
-She likes to drink. A lot.
-Has nightmares.
-Secretly loves romance, but will openly down - play its significance.
-Secretly not as bad as she seems.
-Honest to a fault with friends.
-Dishonest to a fault with marks.
-She needs glasses to read.
-Loves gambling/cards/bets.
-Has extremely bad luck.
-Cheats at cards/gambling.
-One of the most talented pickpocket/thieves(Hasn't been caught yet!)
-Enjoys art, origami, and beautiful things.

A companion and a thief, does she steal from her clients?  That could get interesting...

Box

Not generally! Though, sometimes her lines of work merge a bit.

Currently in the middle of trying to work up the character...and do three other things at once.  It might be a couple of hours before I can get even this simplified profile down.

Hey Box, can you post Jin over in the character thread?  I'm sure you were going to, just a reminder in case you forgot.

ReijiTabibito

Okay.  At long freaking last.

Name: John Lawhorn
Age: 44
Height & Weight: 5'9" & 155 lbs
Picture: http://chriseccleston.com/wp-content/uploads/eccles.png

Brief History: Born on Shadow, Lawhorn was barely a teenager when the Unification War broke out.  All he wanted to do was join up and fight for the right for people to choose their own path in life.  And he managed to do it...just in time for him to be deployed to Hera, for the Battle of Serenity Valley.  In the grand scheme of of the war, Lawhorn was a soldier for all of about fifteen minutes...but he remembers the sacrifices made by the sons of the families that lived near him, how Shadow was destroyed by Alliance bombing, and the men next to him that died in the name of freedom.  After the war ended, Lawhorn went home...but nothing lived on Shadow anymore, and his family had moved elsewhere. Heading back to Hera, Lawhorn offered up his skills as a soldier to anyone that would hire him.

It's been over twenty-five years since he started traveling the 'Verse, and he's seen a lot of ships and a lot of jobs come and go.  The raw skills he had as a young Browncoat have been honed, and his mind filled with stories and experiences that make him one of the most veteran hands of the 'Verse.  He's claimed that he's probably forgotten more about the ways of the world than most people have ever learned.

But Lawhorn remembers his people.  Always.

Personality: Now in his mid-40s, having seen the Unification War (and its loss for the people he knew and cared for), as well as over two decades of Alliance rule, Lawhorn is a very tired and wearied individual.  He approaches almost everything with at least a trace amount of cynicism, having learned to expect the worst from any and everyone unless there's something in it for them.

Skills: Military training, honed by 2 decades of experience.  Extensive familiarity with the 'Verse and its ways.  (He's been traveling for 20 years, after all)

Position: First Officer

Other Facts:
- He was a Pathfinder as a Browncoat, receiving training as a scout and tracker in addition to his basic military skills.

ReijiTabibito

Thanks.  Given the composition of the crew, I decided that it needed two things - an older guy (a Book), and someone who's seen a lot of the world, and can usually remember something about it.

For those Transformers fans out there, he's a Kup.

~squee~  Very nice, Reiji.  Okay, done being a fan girl, I swear.  >.>

drezdock

@Reiji. Hey! Byrons 42... just cuz he's sheltered and acts like a schoolboy around women doesn't mean nothing... oh... wait a minute... ;-p

~quiet, soft squee~  Otay. :D  On other notes, I do like the actor you picked.  Reiji.  He's a favourite of mine.

ReijiTabibito

He's a favorite of mine, too.  His tenure on Who was just not long enough!

Haloriel

Oh, agreed.  I liked him better than Tennant.  Though I tend to get glared at when I say that. :D  Really, its because I think Tennant would have been more fun if he'd been allowed his natural accent!

ReijiTabibito

I liked Eccleston over Tennant, though Tennant is a favorite, mainly because Eccleston was a different kind of Doctor to me.  It wasn't all about him and how awesome he was and how he was going to save the day this time, which was definitely more Tennant and now Smith.  Eccleston's Doctor was much more an enabler, someone that inspired regular people to heroics (like Captain Jack!).

Pretty in Pink

*glares at Hal*  Tennant-traitor.  :P

Although I have to admit I did THOROUGHLY appreciate Eccleston's version of the Doctor.

I liked Eccleston because he seemed to bring a dark side to the character. He had kind of an I've been everywhere and done everything but I still have to keep coming back here and cleaning up after you humans because I don't know how to stop! kind of vide.

I didn't even recognize him in that pic, I had to go back and look at it again after ya'll were talking about him! ;-p
