10 Year High School Reunion (Interest Check)

Welcome Back, Class of 2008!

It's that time of year, again. The Class of 2008 is due for their 10 year high school reunion! It's a time to either commiserate or reminisce about both the good times and the bad. What were you known for in high school? Have you lost touch with some of your fellow students? Do you want to reconnect, try to find a spark with someone, or simply brag about your accomplishments and schmooze? Will you be attending alone, or are you going to be joined by your spouse or romantic partner? Maybe there was something you always wanted to tell someone in your class, but never had the chance to. Maybe you're being dragged there against your will and better judgement because somehow, others have convinced you that you need to participate.

No matter your reason for attending, we're glad to see that you're interested in joining us for our 10 Year Reunion. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since graduation, isn't it? Well, we have plenty in store for an unforgettable night. First, there will be dinner and dancing at the Grand Ballroom in the Hilton just a few miles away from Westwood High. Go Wildcats! You may remember that location from Senior Prom, if you went. Dinner includes dessert and an open bar. Pace yourself! After dinner, you're more than welcome to return to Westwood High for a trip down memory lane. If you are staying at the Hilton, feel free to coordinate with your classmates, should you wish to plan something among yourselves.

We're not done making memories yet, and we hope to see you there!



OOC Information:

This game will not be long-lasting. It will take place during the course of the reunion, which at most will take up two full days (the weekend). In this game, we will explore as much as the players wish; how much can change in 10 years, how powerful prejudices can be and how long they can last, whether or not one can truly outgrow their high school reputations, etc. Will there be romantic and sexual elements? If the players wish it, then yes. Will there be a History thread so that specific scenes can be written out? If the players would like that, then yes. This is a collaborative group game. It is a largely open, free-form game, despite being somewhat short. And, unless convinced otherwise, I'd prefer for this game to fall under the Light category.

I was thinking that too. Wondering if there is any real point in putting a cap on characters. I suppose, just so that it doesn't get out of hand. But I don't see why someone can't juggle three at a time. Besides, it presents the opportunity to be able to portray multiple different tropes!

Interesting...

Could play the head cheerleader, who right after graduation married her sweetheart the quarterback. But both being young and dumb, they ended up divorcing a year later. Now she's a single mom (the quarterback's kid, but he doesn't know it), putting herself through her last year of college to get a degree in computer programming so she can make a better life for her and her daughter.

Definitely leaning towards the quiet, mousy girl who was always doodling in her notebooks...who grew up to be a successful commercial artist. And gorgeous.

This has caught my interest tentatively, thinking about a former A\V club nerd who spent the last decade working on his physical being though he fears he is still that same shy, awkward highschooler he once was.  Now a fledgling independent film maker, he tells himself he is coming to his reunion to discreetly gather footage for a potential documentary but, deep down, this is likely a final hurdle for becoming the man he wants to be.

As others have said- this seems interesting. I like the premise and it looks like it can be executed very well. I have a character I`d like to use for it (that I`d repurpose of course), are you open to someone who`s not created specifically for this? I do think he could fit well.
