Joseph had booked his room online two weeks ago. He felt reinvigorated at the idea of going back to Caravanserai. Maybe he would make new friends and maybe he would reunite with old friends. What mattered was the possibilities. He envisioned his suite, then the bar where he would make a second residence. He looked forward especially to Caravanserai’s cigarettes, having not quite enjoyed a smoke the same way after going home.

Really, he just looked forward to being at Caravanserai in general. He wouldn’t admit it, but Caravanserai was the best time of his life. Living a luxurious playboy life agreed with him more than he realized. Maybe he would settle down some time soon, but for right now, he was not looking to be tied down by anyone or anything. He would lean against the rail, looking out to the sea. The flight was a long 10 hours and he was already looking forward to being on terra firma again.

For the first time since the opening of her clinic, Haruka had the time to go on vacation, and that's because she was able to hire a capable assistant in time. She had taken the week off and took upon one of the clients' recommendations to visit Caravanserai. Since aboard the ferry she hadn't walked around much and simply just sat in her spot, tapping away at her phone. Getting bored of it, she decided to look around.

Haruka walked around the deck of the ferry, heels clicking loudly against the steel floor. She smiled and nodded at the other guests before leaning against a railing outside, looking towards the horizon. She looked to her sides before spotting a man wearing a Black button down, giving him a nod and a smile.

Joseph had been off in space, waiting for the ferry to come to a stop. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something blue. Turning so that his back was to the rail, that’s when he saw the woman clearly. Something about her oozed sex appeal, but Joseph would do his best to stay calm, not wanting to presume anything untoward. The way she dressed made that difficult, but he still composed himself.

“Nice day out, ain’t it?” He simply asked, seeing if things would progress from there. “First time at Caravanserai?” He continued to speak, looking for a way to progress the conversation beyond niceties. His eyes would catch at her heels, they were quite tall. He wondered what her secrets were, how to coax them out of her. She didn’t look familiar, so his question was most likely already answered.

"Yes, it's quite nice out today." She said with a continued smile and nod. "It is. I got recommended this vacation spot by a client of mine." She finished before walking over towards him. Her walk was elegant and refined yet had A somewhat sexy, and slutty sway to it. "Dr. Haruka Aoi." She slightly bowed to him before holding out her hands towards the man. "But you can call me Haruka or Dr. Aoi, whichever makes you feel more comfortable." She said with a chuckle.

"I take it that you're a regular here?"

Her strut, for lack of a better word, definitely confirmed his belief in her sex appeal. He would take deep breaths, trying to calm his nerves. “I was a guest at the desert resort. Figured I’d see what the new place had to offer.” He said as he flashed a smile. “So…Doctor, eh? What do you specialize in, Haruka?” He was genuinely curious about her profession, wondering if her job was as sexy as she seemed to be.

Charlie closed her eyes behind the darkened glass of her shades and sighed as the warm sea breeze sent her hair dancing around her head. With unbelievably turquoise toned waters in all directions this trip was already shaping up to be everything she'd hoped for and more. In a way, it was all going a little too well so far but she refused to let herself fall into the tempting trap of suspicion and cynicism. This holiday was going to be about relaxation and discovery and bolstering all those little parts of herself that had been dented and bruised lately.

The ferry wasn't too busy and she'd already spent some time watching the people milling about on the deck, trying to work out who might be fellow guests and who might work or live on the island where the resort was based. It was a fun little game that she enjoyed from the security of her sunglasses. There was a fair amount of flesh on show, although it was the weather for it, but she didn't feel out of place with her diaphanous beach dress. She was pretty much covered up but the fabric danced around enough in the wind on deck to wrap around the curves of her figure every now and then.

Turning her attention back to the water and the island that they were headed towards, Charlie rested her forearms on the railing and watched the waves for a while longer.

"Oh? A desert resort hm? I'd love to hear more about that sometime." She said with a smile. "I'm a urologist. Andrology. Been a passion for me ever since my father died of cancer." She told the man, giving him the same story that she tells everyone else, regardless of whether it's true or not. "What about you?"

“Interesting choice of profession, I have to say.” He wasn’t going to try and say something that sounded sexy but might come off as stupid about her work, especially for such a noble reason. “A veritable paradise smack dab in the middle of the Moroccan Sahara. The dry heat was the only thing that wasn’t enjoyable.” He laughed, starting to turn on Ol Reliable, that Southern accent that had worked many charms.

“Do you listen to any Top 40 radio? If it’s been a hit in the last twenty years, I might have worked on it. I’m a session player and engineer on Music Row in Nashville. I’ve worked with many artists spanning multiple genres. It’s been a long and winding road.” He said as he leaned against the railing, giving Haruka another scan before looking out at the various people on the ferry and then turning his attention back to her.

"You're not the first to tell me that, and probably not the last." She chuckled. "Oh, that sounds interesting, although probably not that great for my skin." She smiled at his Southern accent, which was far thicker in comparison to her Japanese accent, which was merely a slight twang.

"Hm, Top 40? I do, a few of my clients are on there. Of course, I can't reveal who they are, as it is confidential." She said with another chuckle. She had crossed her legs to lean heavily onto the railing at this point. As he looked about the rest of the ship, she did the same as well before turning her attention back towards him. "Have you ever thought of becoming a leading man yourself?" She asked before catching glimpse of the woman in the black beach dress and giving her a nod and smile, although Haruka would look like an idiot if the woman in black didn't return the nod.

“I mean, I’ve played Nashville’s bar circuit as well, but beyond that, I’m content producing other people’s records. Well, I was, anyway. Hasn’t quite been the same since I left Caravanserai the first time around. Ever since I came back, things haven’t been the same. The job has been less fun, food hasn’t had as much flavor, cigarettes haven’t been as refreshing.” Admitting his vice was a bit embarrassing, but he figured she would find out sooner rather than later.

Joseph would follow her eyes up to the woman in the black dress. Yet another new face. He may have to talk to her another time. Right now, he was utterly captivated by Dr. Haruka Aoi. He wondered if the sex appeal was some kind of façade, but also thought that she genuinely was some kind of femme fatale.

"Ah, well it looks like it might be time for a new line of work." She said with a chuckle. "Well, I would help, but I'm not a psychiatrist or anything like that."

Her sex appeal was not the facade, in fact, her professionalism was. Beneath her air of professionalism, was something much...'darker' and what Joseph saw here, was just a small glimpse of her true self.

"Oh, by the way, I don't think I ever caught your name?"

“I’ve thought about retiring and living the luxurious playboy lifestyle I lived in Caravanserai again. I’ve got the means to do it, I just haven’t made up my mind yet. The only thing negative that comes with that though is boredom. Lots of boredom in that lifestyle, but boredom is a luxury I can afford.” He chuckled nonchalantly.

“The name’s Edwards. Joseph Edwards. Easy to remember in any situation.” He would again chuckle, wondering what direction he could steer the conversation now. He found himself interested in her quite a bit. Maybe things could take an interesting turn, depending on how the conversation went.

Soft hands rested against the ferry's railing as Becky balanced herself against it. She let the sea breeze wash over her body, strong enough to make even her thick curls wave a little. Eyes closed. Inhale deep.  It smelled like salt and fruit and sunshine. She couldn't help but wish she was already dressed to go swimming.

Becky Washington was no stranger to ocean air, but this smelled so different, and frankly a lot better, than the Gulf of Mexico she was used to. No traces of oil spills or algae blooms or all the other nonsense that poor water had to deal with. Here in this remote area she detected only the most lovely of things. Wonderful, an excellent start. She opened her eyes and glanced about at her fellow ferry goers.

She smiled as she recognized almost right away the towering form of Joseph Edwards. It was hard to miss him even in a crowd. She'd forgotten how big he was! He seemed very into the conversation he was having a very pretty woman Becky didn't recognize. She gave him a wave and a smile, not wanting to interrupt, but not wanting to act like she didn't see him either. They could always catch up later. Becky wasn't in a hurry. She was on vacation after all.

She didn't see anyone else in the crowd right away that she recognized from her last stay. Pity. Maybe they were already there. Maybe they'd show up later. Becky had never been one for keeping up with folks long distance, and even the great friend's she'd made she had only sporadic contact with since she left Caravanserai in the Sahara so long ago. Her eyes fell on the blonde next to her who was leaning over the railing admiring the ocean the same way Becky had.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" She said with her easy going southern accent casually sauntering across her words. "I'm Becky." She extended a hand. "So nice to meet you!"

"Well, nice to formally meet you, Joseph." She says as she reaches into her back pocket and pulls out a business card, bowing slightly again and handing it towards Joseph with both hands. "I do this to all men I meet, please accept my business card."

The business card was written in an incredibly professional manner.

Aoi Urology Clinic

It said, front and center, in an extremely posh-looking font. Like those business cards, you see from high-end CEOs or executives.

Dr. Haruka Aoi
XXXX@WhateverEmailYouWant.com
(382) 563-4273
Los Angeles, California

The back was her personal information as well as the information to the clinic. The number looked like a normal number at first, although for people who still pay attention to the letterings on their phones' number pad, those numbers might've actually meant something more.

After she had handed her business card over, she gave the woman wearing the orange/pinkish dress a quick nod and smile.

The deck of the ferry was filling up with island goers. It was a veritable social obstacle course, which Everett did his best to navigate as he headed towards a less breezy corner - a book half-cracked open in his hands. Giving easy smiles to the people that he passed, his long fingers fumbled with the resort brochure that he had been using as a bookmark.

Why hadn't he brought his tablet? Oh, yeah, right. Vacation. Checking his watch again for Bluetooth-connected updates that would never come, he tried to relax. That was the whole point of his trip, right? At least that is what his boss had told him when he pushed him out the office door.

Eyeing his reservation and the amenities of the hotel, he tried to stop his brain from working out the various scheduling combinations that would maximize the value of his all-inclusive package. Too late. With a shake of his head, Everett slipped the book in his back pocket and gripped at the ferry railing.

Relax. Socialize. Have fun.

That was his goal here. He eyed the rest of the people on the ferry and envied the easy stance of many of them who seemed excited about this new adventure.

People watching was fun, right? Turning to lean his back against the railing, Everett crossed his arms and looked around attempting to pick up some pointers.

As Haruka handed him the card, Joseph would examine it, lingering on the phone number for a little while. He wondered if she had one of those gimmick phone numbers where the numbers spelled something out. If she did, he certainly was struggling to figure out what it might have been. He would take out his wallet and put the card inside, wanting to hold on to it, he may want to make an appointment after all.

Looking over again, he saw Miss Becky and her very voluptuous shape. One of his only regrets from his last stay at Caravanserai was not getting to say goodbye. He gave her a wave in return, before turning back to Haruka. “So, do you ever let your hair down, Dr. Aoi?” He said in his flirtatious drawl, trying to draw her in even further.

When she responded in the same tone, something in him perked up. He didn’t think he would get very far with her using the tone of voice he had, but it seemed that he had gotten further than initially expected. Maybe her inherent sexuality wasn’t the façade after all. Maybe she was a maneater and he was the one being lured into a trap. “Various activities, eh? And, pray tell, what other activities does the good doctor do in her spare time?” He asked, maintaining the course as the ferry closed in on the dock.

“Maybe I’ll have to book an appointment after all.” He said as she turned to walk away. He would momentarily be caught in her strut, before shaking himself out of it. She spotted the nod and smile from the distractingly dressed woman stood further along the deck and returned it instinctively. The lady in question was chatting with a man who she presumed she either knew or had plans to know. The observation making Charlie grin a little.

"It's beautiful isn't it?"

The warm toned voice came from a lot closer than Charlie was expecting and her surprise showed on her features as she turned around to face the speaker.

"Y-yes, it is," she agreed with a laugh at her own shock at being engaged in conversation.

"I'm Charlie, pleasure to meet you Becky," she added while shaking the offered hand and easing her sunglasses up and onto the top of her hair, the shades pushing blonde hair back from her face so she could see the beautiful face of the woman before her more clearly.

"This all looks too beautiful to be real, you know? Like we've stepped into a Disney movie or a National Geographic show or something." Wincing at how her accent sounded a thousand times more British than it usually did when heard after Becky's American twang she looked back out over the sea.

"Have you visited the resort before?" She didn't add that this was her first time. She was quietly confident her words and manner relayed that fact pretty well already.

Becky gave Charlie a warm, friendly smile at her introduction. She kept her attention focused on the woman, listening with a friendly attention as she spoke.

"I know exactly what you mean." She agreed. "Everything is just so...." She whirled a hand about, as if trying to churn the word out of the air, as she looked out at the sea then laughed giving up, "Look I'm not a poet, that's all the words I got." She chuckled, obviously well at ease with being down to earth and plain in her language. And if she was bothered at all by Charlie's pronounced British accent the southern girl didn't show it. She had been expecting to meet people from all over the world on this trip after all!

"I've never been here." She answered the question. "But I did spend about three of the best months of my life at their hotel in the Sahara and if this one is even half as good." She grinned, inhaling the fresh air once again and sighing happily, her words trailing off at the thought of how wonderful this stay would be. "And they didn't even have an ocean there, we had to ride in on a camel. This is already nicer." She grinned, turning her attention back to Charlie.

But something behind Charlie caught her eye. A man standing behind her was acting rather peculiar.

Becky's eyes trailed away from Charlotte to glance at the man on the far side of her, also leaning against the rail. His cute face and cozy build caught her eye initially, but it was his odd mannerisms that kept drawing Becky's gaze back. She couldn't help but notice that he was not relaxed, but kept doing what he saw others do in an effort to appear relaxed. Was he...was he just mimicking a relaxed pose and hoping it worked? Did he...did he not understand relaxing? A rather puzzled look on her face she raised her voice loud enough that he could hear her, or at least realize she was getting his attention.

"Hi!" She yelled, bending over the railing herself a little and waving to get his attention. "I'm Becky, this is Charlie!" She smiled at the other woman, hoping she didn't mind her pulling this nervous little man into the conversation. Hopefully the other woman didn't mind being introduced like this!

Name: Elizabeth Staunton

Wearing: Jeans, long sleeve button up as pictured, leather case for a decently large camera with an attached section for a sketch pad and pencils. Using her 5'5 walking staff of a silvery wood. Tennis shoes.
Location: Prow of the ship.
Tagging: N/A, open.

The young woman emerged from the structure of the ferry, striding towards the front of the ship where it sliced through the stunning water. Well, less strode and more limped, since her left leg clearly gave her difficulties. Between the staff, taller than she was, the smooth water, and a hand on the rail, the slender redhead made it to her goal at the front of the boat without more than a stumble or two.  Those few who knew her wouldn't have been surprised by the choice of location, as it was both sheltered and away from the open areas where random people could converse with her. It gave her space to both stare all admiringly at the stunning scenery and dwell on her own thoughts. Her original stay at the first Caravanserai had been... Complicated, but overall for the best. Life changing, in more ways than one.

So there she stood, pale as ever, red hair tossing behind her when the breeze caught it. Elizabeth looked pretty much the same as she always had, almost unchanged... Though there were the hints of smile lines starting to form around her distant eyes.  There was a distinct possibility that even her shirt was the same as 5 years ago, from another life-changing trip. The art equipment and staff were certainly the exact same ones, any lingering desert dust had long since fallen away from even the tightest of crannies.

Distracted by the quest for the desired spot, Elizabeth hadn't even looked around, not considering that other passengers might know her... That if she had gotten the invitation, others might as well... Names and faces who very well might want to see her.

"Phew." Haruka thought to herself as the woman in black returned her nod and smile, saving herself from looking like an idiot.

She returned back to her seat inside of the Ferry and tapped away on her phone, waiting for the Ferry to dock. She grimaced and sighed heavily a few times throughout the affair before placing it down to look around the room and at the crowd that has settled near the rail.

“Good morning, passengers!” A cheerful male voice came through the speakers, audible throughout the entire ferry. “We’d like to welcome you aboard the Caravanserai Express. You are in for a short but scenic ride with us today. We should be docking at the resort in no less than thirty minutes. We encourage you to test out your sea legs by walking around the main deck of the ferry. You never know what these waters might hold, so keep ahold of your cameras. Bathrooms are located at the back of the ferry should you require them. In addition, we have complimentary drinks if you’re feeling parched and snacks if you’re feeling hungry. Just catch the attention of one of the attendants, and they’ll take care of you. That’s all I have for you good folks, for now. Going from the chilly airplane to the sunny outdoors, where it felt like the sun was trying to bake her skin, wasn’t the most pleasant experience. Reese hurried onto the ferry, making her way to one of the window seats as she fanned herself to try and cool down. A few faces stood out to her when she glanced around at the other passengers. She’d seen a lot of faces while working at Caravanserai. Some stood out more than others, for a variety of reasons. She didn’t quite feel up to approaching anyone,; so for now, she remained in her seat. A single earbud remained in her ear, playing soft music. She left the other out in case they received further instructions from the ferry crew...or if someone tried to talk to her.

‘This is so weird,’ she thought as the boat departed the dock and cut through the gentle waves. Being on the other side of the Caravanserai experience. She wondered if some of her old friends transferred to the new location. An island atmosphere beats a desert one any day.

After about 10 minutes of travel, Reese got the urge to stretch her legs. She stretched out her arms before rising from her seat and made her way to the railing.

“Hey,” she said to the nearby redhead. “Pretty gorgeous, isn't it?!” She nodded towards the shimmering water.

“Three months? Wow, that sounds such an amazing thing to get to do,” Charlie replied with genuine jealousy in her voice. The idea of taking that much time for herself seemed beyond ridiculous but she’d worked with enough people with the money to regularly fund such a lifestyle to know that it did happen fairly regularly. Now that she was in a position to spend some of her hard-earned money on herself and with nothing but time on her hands, perhaps she’d end up spending more time at the resort than the few weeks she’d initially booked.

“Not sure I’d have coped with the heat in the desert, even if the camel rides do sound kind of fun,” she laughed before realising that Becky’s attention had shifted to something or someone behind her.

The sudden wave and smile followed by the introduction of the two of them made her grin awkwardly and turn on the spot to face the man Becky was talking to.

“Hello.” Charlie waved towards the unfamiliar man, feeling strangely relieved that she’d bumped into someone who was far more comfortable in these sorts of situations than she was these days.

Time was she’d have been the one introducing herself to strangers without so much as a second thought. Hopefully some time away from things would do the trick and help that part of herself come back.

In the meantime, she’d be happy to follow the lead of those around her and see who ended up crossing her path. This was meant to be an adventure after all.

“We were just saying how gorgeous this all is,” she added, trying to lure the stranger into conversation, “don’t you agree?”

The announcement did not cause a turning of her head, and if there was a slight jump of startlement, well that could easily be a symptom of being on a moving boat. The snacks were intriguing, and she couldn't help wondering if they were all standardized fair, or if the larder included, to her, exotic treats that would be extremely familiar to the locals. Not everything she had tried at the original Caravanserai had been to her tastes, but new favorites had definitely been discovered. It wasn't really worth the effort to find an attendant, not when there were such wonderful views to fully occupy her attention..

The voice however, was intriguing enough to get her to turn, a slightly complicated process of three phases, adjusting the staff enough to brace upon as she maneuvered. Elizabeth made it seem natural enough, after all it had been a necessity for over two decades.

"Oh, hello." She smiled at the perky woman, unable to avoid noticing the dual meanings of perky... Seemed like her new companion wasn't wearing a bra, something the redhead definitely noticed and was interested by. In fact, the blonde checked most of the redhead's boxes... A little older, a little taller, athletic, a fun smile and stunning eyes, a sense of adventure about her. So her smile of enjoyment about being on another adventure, another chance of life changing excitement, was multiplied by definite hints of attraction. "Absolutely!" She said, a little more reserved than the other woman, but still very much happy to be there. "There are so many things I'm looking forward to on this trip! I'm sure I'll get some absolutely stunning photographs. I might even try to go diving... Scuba sounds like it might be a little much, but one of my friends was telling me about a variation where you don't even need a tank, just a mask that's connected to a hose that provides air from the boat."

Her own blue eyes squinted slightly, as she leaned on the staff and examined the other woman's face a little closer. Pretty sure I haven't drawn her before, but she looks familiar... "Hrmm... Are you from the original Caravanserai? The one in the desert? Maybe..... Events coordinator? I seem to remember you." Elizabeth obviously had a great eye for faces, though she was making an educated guess about the other woman's position... Assuming she was remembering right and the blonde was in fact both at the hotel at the same time, and an employee. The artist's voice softened, dreamy, as she looked at the water. "I didn't get to stay at Caravanserai as long as I wanted, but who would ever want to leave a place like that? It really made a lasting change on my life..."

Everett had been lost in thought, counting. Taking inventory was a necessary habit in his job - of files, servers, errors, emails. So even in paradise, his natural inclination was to take stock of his surroundings. The number of people in relation to the number of life vests he had seen on a safety plack on the wall near the washroom. The ratio of couples to those who seemed to be traveling alone (of which there were many) to the hotel capacity listings he had seen on the brochure. How full was the hotel and what would be the distribution of guests on each floor? There was no guarantee how many tourists were already at the resort, but it was a type of probabitliy that his mind naturally tried to work out. For a moment he had remembered that his techy watch did have a built-in calculator - however limited, but then someone waved and caught his attention.

A lovely someone with wavy black hair standing next to another equally striking blond woman. They certainly weren't speaking to him? That seemed less than likely.

Both ladies wore dresses that fit the casual but stunning nature of such a trip. Everett suddenly felt off the mark in his standard jeans and teeshirt. It wasn't until the lady who was introduced as Charlie started to speak (in a very fetching British accent that Everett enjoyed listening to) that he was deemed incorrect in his first assumption. They were talking to him.

"Oh, hey there - Becky, Charlie", Everett quickly added. Realizing he was slouching somewhat against the railing, he stood - stretching and rolling his shoulders as he did. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Everett." He started to slip into business mode and extended his hand but then pulled his arm back. This was a much more casual setting than he was used to. So he just tilted his fingers up in a small, awkward wave.

Now on to Charlie's question. "The boat? Well, it is sturdy and has a style to it - I guess you would have to... Oh." A soft flush crept over his cheeks. Of course, he hadn't really taken in much of the scenery beyond the rails. It seemed quite silly now. A quick look over his shoulder and he saw the island coming into view.  The clear blue water sloshed against the side of the boat as the resort buildings were visible against the backdrop of the beautiful island.

"Yes, I can't say I have been to any place more breathtaking." Everett smiled back to them both, feeling safe that he hadn't embarrassed himself too badly.

Reese returned the female stranger’s smile with her usual enthusiasm. Teeth on full display due to the broadness of her smile. In truth, she was glad that the woman was receptive to some lighthearted conversation. Some people preferred to be left alone, especially when traveling. She noticed how the woman’s gaze drifted from her face down to her chest. It happened so quickly that she might’ve missed it if a sudden noise drew her attention elsewhere.

Confused, she glanced down, wondering if she’d spilled something on her white top. She had such bad luck when wearing white. No matter how hard she tried, stains found their way onto the fabric. To her surprise, it was still in pristine condition.

“Were you just checking out my tits?” She asked bluntly rather than overthink the matter. A shyer person might have crossed their arms, but Reese maintained her relaxed pose. “Yeah, this is my first vacation in a while, so I plan to live my best life.” She nodded her head as the female stranger described her plans. “I don’t have any solid plans. I’m just going to take it day by day.” Her day-to-day life was planned down to the minute so she preferred to do the opposite during her vacation.

Reese hesitated for a second. Did she want people to know that she used to work at Caravanserai? The last thing she wanted was to be pestered with questions about the new one, especially since she knew jackshit about it outside of what anyone could find on the website. Lying wasn’t her forte though.

“I worked there a while back before moving on.” She put added emphasis on the last bit. “It was fun. They had excellent employee freebies and discounts.” She shrugged her shoulders and turned to lean against the railing. “Paradise becomes boring after a while. You miss the chaos of the real world.”

"It really was." Becky agreed with Charlie, a big smile on her face. Three months at a wonderful resort away from it all had been the best thing she'd ever done in her life, and she wasn't at all worried about admitting it. Yes, she'd been very lucky to have that chance, no that didn't mean she felt any guilt at all about taking it. Not that Charlie had insinuated she should feel that way, but Becky had heard it enough over the years to almost think that thought reflexively when it came up. "I hope our time here is just as great!"

"And it wasn't as bad as you'd think really." Becky said whimsically, giving one ample reason to think the glasses she was looking back through were very rose-tinted. "It got nice and cool as the sun went down." She let the comment about the camels go. The camels had been one of Becky's least favorite parts of it! To each their own!

She then watched Everett, who she smiled at sweetly as he introduced himself, speak and it was just as fascinating as she thought it would be. Sturdy? He was worried about how sturdy the boat was? Becky couldn't help but keep the amused smile off of her face as the man seemed to only actually think about how pretty it all was when it was pointed out to him. Her hunch had been right this boy needed professional assistance relaxing. Her eyes glanced to Charlie wondering if the beautiful blonde woman was up for the task. Well, there would be all sorts of fun things to figure out on this trip wouldn't there be?

Becky waved down a waiter with the complimentary drinks and took a pink lemonade, handing him a large bill in tip as he served the little group.

As she did though, something caught the corner of Becky's eye. A flash of red hair on a short woman. Could it be? Becky felt the butterflies in her stomach as she turned and . . . no, whoever it was it was either a trick of the light or they were lost in the crowd now. Becky smiled a little sadly to herself and turned back to the group by the time she'd turned around the smile was warm and genuine and her eyes were back to sparkling as she sipped her drink.

"To our time in paradise." She raised her drink to the others.

As the man who introduced himself as Everett stumbled through a reply about the boat before realising what she’d actually been talking about, Charlie felt herself feel a pang of compassion for him. His response was simply rather adorable and clearly a genuine one, not one done for the purpose of garnering their attention.

“Me either,” she agreed, hoping to bolster his confidence into continuing the conversation. If nothing else, he had a rather charming smile when it crept out.

She plucked something colourful and fruity, but clearly alcoholic going by the scent that hit her nose, from the tray and raised it in a toast along with Becky.

“To time in Paradise,” she smiled warmly at both of her new acquaintances before taking a generous mouthful, which was followed by a sharp intake of breath as the alcohol prickled her throat. “Bloody hell,” she gasped throatily before laughing at herself, “they know what they’re doing behind the bar if nothing else!”

“So, Everett, where abouts are you coming here from? You too, Becky, if you don’t mind me asking of course,” she added, not wanting to seem pushy. “I think my accent probably gives me away rather a lot.” She chuckled before taking another, smaller, sip of her cocktail.

The woman's smile was both wider and more genuine than she was used to, people in her town typically weren't quite so vibrantly open in their displays. Elizabeth felt her own smile widening in response, until the quick question knocked her completely off guard, the smile slipping to a much more bemused expression. People from her part of the world absolutely were not that direct about such matters! Sexual matters were usually tiptoed around with all the grace and delicacy of a long-tailed cat dancing through a room of rocking chairs in a high wind. Pretty much the only person Elizabeth knew of who would react in such a way was Becky, a memory conjured from the short time they had spent together at the other Caravanserai.

Brushing a strand of red hair from her even redder face, the short woman nodded, expression somewhere between shock, embarrassment, deer in the headlights at being caught out and especially called out, and an unsurety about what to do now. "Ah, well, uhm, yes, I was actually." She stammered. Some skills had been gained in the intervening five years, but at the bottom, she was still Elizabeth the introvert from a small town. Still... The other woman didn't seem offended and she certainly wasn't pulling away or covering up. Probably a good sign. "Well, like you said, pretty gorgeous.." The artist tilted her still blushing head towards the water, a direction that just coincidentally happened to include Reese, though she wasn't certain if she'd ever known the other woman's name. Even that little amount of flirting pretty much exhausted her reserves of bravery for the day, but it almost certainly would recover if the other woman flirted back. At least I managed something that wasn't just sinking into an embarrassed puddle... 5 years ago Elizabeth would be so proud of me right now. I think.

It was easy to nod and flow with the change of topic to the much safer and comfortable idea of vacations. She had to chuckle softly. "Ahh, I always over plan vacations. I went to do everything, and see everything. Then I try to photograph everything like six times over because the lighting changes everything even if you're talking the difference between dawn and dusk. I feel the need to explore... I think it comes from growing up in a small town." Her hand tightened on the staff... She wasn't about to mention that one of the big reasons she was always going places was just to prove that she could, that her bad leg and reliance on a walking stick would never stop her.  Confessing the myriad details about how hard it was to regain any mobility at all absolutely wasn't a conversation for casual company starting a vacation. "But at the same time I certainly enjoy relaxing by the pool, or even better yet the beach." Her smile was definitely back, enthusiasm once again filling her face. If the conversation kept going well, maybe if there was a sign or two of reciprocated interest from her new companion, possibly Elizabeth might be bold enough to suggest scheduling some things together... But she would see.

The redhead nodded her agreement and acknowledgment, picking up on the hint the other resort wasn't to be the focus of their conversation. "I can only imagine, I know how hard everybody worked to make it such a wonderful experience." She had to giggle, leaning in a little bit. "Surely you had to have some interesting experiences with chaotic guests, right? I wouldn't want to interact with spoiled people too often." Though it could be argued that was a large part of her current job description, mingling with the people who could afford to pay her for art. "If you don't mind me asking, what do you do out in the real world? I'm an artist, which I know many people would argue isn't the real world in of itself, but it can be moderately chaotic at times."

Over the last year Kat had been in a constant state of travel. She took a bus sometimes, flew others, rented and drove herself. She even took a train from Denver to Kansas City. She somewhat considered herself a veteran traveler, yet as she stepped onto the ferry it'd count as her first boat ride. She'd count it as a new adventure, and was in fact looking forward too it. The crew had taken most of her luggage before she boarded but she elected to keep her guitar with her. Maybe a little over protective but it was a gift and Kat didn't want to give it to anyone who wouldn't treasure it as she did. It'd been hard enough trusting it to the plane

So there she was touring the boat like a straight tourist, hauling her guitar around with her, avoiding carefully bumping into everyone. The captain encouraged everyone to get their sea legs and Kat wondered if that was really a thing. Just about every movie that had boats said something similar but how different could it be?

Once the boat got moving she'd find out for herself. It was almost like walking on a turbulent plane. Kat didn't elect to keep wandering long after that and instead made her way out onto the deck to finding a spot where she could settle down and...catch her sea legs. Turning her gaze out to the shimmering sea. She had little doubt the view would be beautiful, and the captain hinted at surprises aside from the obvious. That meant dolphins right? Of whales? Had to mean one of the two. She hadn't ever seen either outside of YouTube videos and movies and that was exciting.

Yet more than just the natural world beauty around her Kat found she really enjoyed the fresh air. Well as fresh as the taste of salt on it could be. But she's spent the majority of her time in big cities. That had grown so big you could see the smog in the distance coloring the landscape in the distance. She'd take in a nice deep breath and exhale slowly, with a bright smile. It'd be nice to get away for a little while and really relax.

Though as soon as she thought it, she remembered she was never really on vacation and she'd soon take out her phone and take a selfie with the ocean as a backdrop.

"Day one away begins, I miss all of you already 💔

She wrote with the caption before putting her phone away once more and turning her attention back outwards. Reminding herself that she needed to not let the brand be the focus of the trip. She was taking a break. She'd be getting back in touch with the real Katrielle, and that she'd need to try and let her persona fall to the wayside. It'd probably be a couple of days before she truly relaxed enough to be on vacation, but she was off to a good start.

Oh, thank god, alcohol.

As Becky flagged the waitress over, Everett mumbled a soft thanks as he selected something tall, full, and unearthly blue. It had swirls of yellow and a pale green foam that made me think of the beach that they were slowly coming closer towards. He took a sip and let the rush of liquid courage do its thing. He wasn't a big drinker but he also didn't generally drop himself into new social situations either.

"Yes," he coughed a bit at the sting of what he thought was a spiced rum. "To paradise and the bartender." He raised his glass before taking another sip - vowing to slow down after but with no real expectation to hold up to that prayer.

It took a few more seconds for enough of the alcohol to reach his bloodstream before his shoulders relaxed and he thought to answer Charlie's question. "Oh, me? I have lived all over the U.S. -Boston, L.A., a few stints in Nevada and Arizona. The life of a military kid. But I currently work in Seattle." He tugged at the sleeves of his shirt, exposing more of his forearms as if to comment on the great shift in temperature in terms of what he was used to.

"You have a delightful accent." He paused, pinking up a bit when the words slipped out. "Uh, what part of Britain are you from?" He lost his attempt at moderation and sipped on his drink as he listened to Becky and Charlie answer.

Becky grinned as both of the others reacted to the strength of their drinks. She'd picked the non-alcoholic one for a reason. As much as she'd appreciated them last time she was at a Caravanserai, she wasn't looking to forget this afternoon just yet.

Becky smiled at Charlie's question. "Oh just a lil' half horse town in Mississippi ain't no one ever heard of, specially the folks that're from there." She leaned into her accent as she proudly announced her obscure heritage and sipped her pink lemonade. "Don't worry, most folks from America don't know where Mississippi is either." Her accent audibly relaxed after her deep sip of the cool, delicious liquid. "I spend most my time in New Orleans these days." She listened as the others spoke of where they came from.

She listened as Charlie said he'd been all over America and conspicuously left anywhere in the south off of list of destinations. "All over America, huh? Sounds like you missed all the good parts." Becky said with a 'but that's none of my business' tone as she sipped her lemonade again, a smile playing about her lips as she mentally congratulated herself for surpassing her normal joke quota for the year.

Charlie continued to sip her drink as Everett and Becky answered her question, listening carefully as they revealed their respective hometowns. It seemed she was going to be holidaying with a well-travelled bunch of individuals but then, it wasn’t likely they’d be cutting through the waters of the south Pacific en route to an island resort if they weren’t.

“I have to admit, that the States is somewhere I’ve never visited,” Charlie replied, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “My job has meant I’ve seen a fair chunk of the world but never that side of ‘the pond’. One day hopefully.” She added with a slightly wistful sigh that was far louder than she’d intended it to be.

Her smile grew a little bashful as Everett complimented her on her accent and she toyed with the straw in her glass for a moment while she fought against blushing, a task made all the more challenging by the faint buzz from the alcohol in her system.

“I was born and raised in Yorkshire,” she explained before adding a little more information out of habit, “it’s in the north of England, sort of in the middle between Scotland and London. It’s a gorgeous part of the world but then, I’m slightly biased.” She winked playfully before making the mental note to probably not have a second cocktail if she was already starting to feel this ‘relaxed’.

“I seem to spend most of my time in and around London these days with my job but I do escape to the country whenever I can.” Another sip and another glance at the two faces before her. This experience was continuing to be a pleasant surprise. If the company so far was anything to go by she could easily see herself falling into the ‘holiday’ frame of mind.

“I work in the sports industry,” Charlie admitted, “it’s pretty interesting and has given me plenty of opportunities to do things I couldn’t have done otherwise. What do you two do?” She leant back against the railing, feeling more comfortable by the moment.

Apollo King, TechKing of ATL.  He was more than that, but since the HQ was in Atlanta, that was where he lived and all but hailed from, but the business was global now and he was at the helm.  His sister talked him into coming on board…he owed her big time.  Between the two of them they made their tech a household name and he actually had more free time to be able to do things like this, his charities and actually have a chance for a private life which he still didn’t have.  He and his ex, parted ways not in anger but he wasn’t one to be second and he wasn’t one to stand in the way of her dreams so he helped to launch her and kept an eye on her but her pursuits were in a different direction.

He realized his life was totally different now.  He was much less self-absorbed, yeah he was a bit more guarded but he wasn’t expecting to run into anyone, thinking that they all had lives they would much better enjoy than to come to a desert paradise again.  Yet here he was on a boat instead and the scene made him stand up and take notice.

He was at the back of the boat right now as others were gathering.  He had only a whiskey sour as he sat where he was.  He saw her and shock his head looking at Becky… ‘It should be damned illegal to get that fine as you get older!’ He found himself kicking himself for now spending more time with her the last time, but then she had her hands full.  Didn’t mean he didn’t want too.  He found she was quite the debutante in Mississippi she made a name for herself and her various charities that he donated too anonymously.  Last thing he wanted her to think was that he was stalking her even though they left on more than pleasant terms.  It wasn’t like him to reach out…he wasn’t going to do that or he might have asked for a date only to get turned down.  Or at least that was the image he saw then.  He shook his head and simply enjoy the view where he was.

He chuckled as he looked at Joseph.  He would remember him anywhere, the man was a bit more lucky than him back at Cara.  But he could play a mean guitar, he was honestly kinda disappointed that they never did a set together back then, but given the man’s skills he wasn’t sure he wanted to be out classed!  Besides the ladies always liked the guitar player over the piano player, probably cause the guitar could be carried anywhere and who could carry a piano.

The Asian woman with him he didn’t know, nor did he know the woman with Becky either.  But… Elizabeth?  He would recognize that cane anywhere.  He smirked at seeing his sister/slash business partner.  He was so proud of her and her art.  She made his desire to invest in her such an easy decision and they called and spoke once a month and he tried to have lunch with her at least twice a month…tried.  Sometimes their schedules meshed and other times.  He was sure he was happy to see her here too.  He was very surprised with the familiar and new faces but this was a paradise…for a reason!  He found himself looking forward to it even though he hung in the back.  That guy right there looked familiar even though he didn’t remember his name.  ‘Ev…it would come to me,' he never forgot a face!

Reese experienced a brief surge of regret when she noticed how her new acquaintance’s face burned with discomfort after hearing her question. However, the emotion didn’t last long. Being shy wasn’t her forte. She preferred to be straightforward with people since beating around the bush often led to avoidable frustration.

To the woman’s credit, she didn’t pretend as if she hadn’t been staring at her boobs or caused a scene by feigning outrage. That’d be a horrible way for both of them to begin their vacations. Instead, she answered her question in earnest.

“Thank you for the appreciation,” Reese said with an amused laugh. “I would compliment yours, but they’re a bit hard to make out underneath all those layers. I hope you don’t plan to remain bundled up for the whole trip. The sun is meant to be enjoyed.”

She sighed contentedly and leaned against the railing, propping her elbows against it as she stared out at the sun-speckled waters. The redhead’s excitement for all of the activities she’d partake in over the next few days made Reese scream with delight. Though she didn’t share the woman’s zeal for super-stuffing one’s vacation, she appreciated the enthusiasm. Her interest piqued all the more when she revealed her penchant for photography.

“Are you a photographer?” She then noticed the case, which presumably contained a camera. “That’s pretty cool. Is it something you do for money or just as a hobby? I might love to get some pictures taken on the beach if it interests you. I imagine yours would be better than the ones taken with my shitty phone camera and a selfie stick.”

Reese crinkled her nose as she thought about the various interactions she had while working at Caravanserai. In truth, though there were some real entitled assholes, none of them compared to her ex-husband, who she, unfortunately, worked with on a daily basis.

“Meh.” She shrugged her shoulders. “There were definitely a few agents of chaos, but most people weren’t intentionally assholes. Sometimes, it’s just easy to forget yourself when you’re out of your usual box.” Her smile returned when asked about her new line of work. “Before Cara, I considered myself a bit of a vagabond. Never staying long anywhere. But after I left, I got into the fitness lifestyle. One thing led to another, and now I train people. Help them maintain or get into shape.”

Then, out of the corner of her eye, Reese noticed the profile of someone that she’d seen in magazines.

“Holy shit,” she whispered underneath her breath. “Is that...is that Katrielle?” Normally, she controlled her inner fangirl as she knew some famous people loathed to be fawned over when out and about in public, but she truly adored the woman’s music. Unable to contain herself, she waved at the gorgeous brunette. “I can take that photo for you if you’d like.” That seemed like the best conversation starter. “Sorry to interrupt. I’m Reese, and this is…” She paused, hoping the redhead would offer her name since she hadn’t got the chance to ask her for it.

Elizabeth would have been deeply and genuinely baffled if anyone had started a scene over such a simple question... She had looked, got caught, wondered just how observant the blonde was, and answered the directly asked question honestly. It seemed entirely fair, since the other woman had asked calmly, not made a big deal out of anything. Drama was far too much work, entirely lacking anything resembling a reasonable payoff. Grinning a slightly lopsided, still moderately shy smile, the redhead slid her left leg back a little bit, walking staff held tightly in her matching hand, and lowered herself down slightly in a playful curtsy. "You're most welcome!" There was just a little bit of lip caught between teeth, just the inside edge of one corner nibbled on as she pondered how to reply. Someone like Becky would probably offer to show them off immediately, followed by a request for shared drinks and then more private adventures. Elizabeth just wasn't that forward, never had been... It was so darn hard, agonizingly difficult sometimes, to tell if another woman was genuinely flirting or just being complimentary! Straight girls were the absolute worst about it, saying all sorts of things to make perfectly sweet and innocent women loving women types all confused in the head and flustered and overthinking the smallest details. Of course, if she was straight she'd check the one missing box for the recipe of my attraction... Not being at all interested in reciprocating romantic feelings.

And the question of bundling up was and of itself complicated. A tiny glance towards her left leg, the one that didn't seem to move correctly, the motion shorter even than the glance at Reese's chest, almost a mere tightening of her lips and eyes, reflected some very complicated feelings about not being bundled up. But that was neither here nor there, nor was the fact that she'd swum in jeans and a t-shirt far more often than bikinis or even one pieces. An attempt was made to resume the happy, welcoming and perhaps even inviting smile... And in truth, her body issues were nothing new, and not something to drag her down for long. "I certainly packed some lovely dresses, including some suitable for romantic dinners, if it happens that any of the ladies would be interested in such a thing." The dresses all happened to be floor-length, in an absolutely shocking coincidence. Elizabeth was reasonably proud of that sentence, despite likely being a run-on, but she felt it conveyed quite a lot of good information quite efficiently. Flirting awkward style for the win. If the gorgeous blonde was interested in seeing more, that was absolutely a good sign, right?

She couldn't help giggling, wrinkling her nose slightly and lifting a pale hand. "If only the sun loved me back! I think it gets offended when I slather on the 100 SPF sunscreen and just redoubles its efforts to turn me into a lobster. I miscalculated and left my hat in the luggage, alas. "

There was no hesitation or reluctance in her voice and movements as she tucked the staff into the crook of her arm, deftly and fluidly pulling her gear in front of her, fingers quickly sliding open the zippers. "Oh yes, I love photography! I take way too many pictures, everywhere I go." Unabashedly and just as happy as if she was talking about her children or A Pet's achievements, Elizabeth showed off her camera, a serious looking tool in Canon EOS series. It wasn't the absolute cutting edge now, but definitely was a couple of years ago. The compartment containing two decently sized lenses indicated she had more photography skills than most. Wrapping her slender hand through the strap, the redhead lifted the camera to her eye and took several quick photographs of the area and the crowd on the boat, though she avoided sticking the camera directly at Reese. "Mm. Yes, I do it for a living, though my landscapes don't sell particularly well yet. The drawings are really what I'm known for, by the handful of people who know me at all."

Her grin was amused, tone  light. It didn't bother her that she sold much less of her photographs... After all, she had the one job best suited for her. "Makes sense though, there's an awful lot of landscape photography and it's not the hugest market. And I tend to shoot in the same general style as Peter Lik, so I have some really tough competition." Laughing, she tossed her head. "Just for the fun of it I'm actually going to mimic some of his Tahiti shots, just to prove to myself I can do it better!" Shaking her head slightly but still smiling with a true passion, Elizabeth toned it down just a notch. "So yes, I am a professional, and I would happily set up some photoshoots for you, no charge.
I left the Official Portrait Camera at home, but I can make do with what I've got, especially if you want a lot of scenery in the shot."

The slender woman nodded polite agreement... in truth she couldn't really picture changing herself just because she was on vacation, but Elizabeth was self-aware enough to know she carried her own box with her wherever she happened to be. A regular old adventuresome turtle, I am. Yep.

"The fitness lifestyle?" A gentle query, only tinged with a little bit of confusion. Despite having an instagram, Twitter, Facebook page, professional website and even a subreddit, Elizabeth was very much not an Online person, unaware of things such as influencers. "That sounds like a good job, I appreciate people who give back to others, make people's lives better."

There was even more bafflement as Reese got all excited about... Something. A Katrielle? Was that a fancy bird of some sort? It hadn't been in any of the guidebooks... But the confusion cleared up on her new friend waved at another attractive woman. Holy shit, is she really wearing leather in the tropics? I'm not the only crazy in jeans and sleeves, but those pants have to be sticky as heck. Still, the younger woman definitely had a cool look, and the exquisitely designed and protectively guarded guitar case indicated another artist passionate enough to bring either her work or hobby on vacation. After tucking her beloved camera back in its own secure case, giving a cheerful smile, Elizabeth leaned on her staff as she held out her hand, shaking first with the newcomer and then the blonde, assuming they both wanted that kind of touching. "Hello, hello. I'm Elizabeth Staunton."

Katrielle could sometimes be oblivious to the world around her. Caught in a moment, or her head. In this case, it was being on a boat and taking a selfie, which was probably pretty low on the grand scale of things to be oblivious about. So when she lowered her arm and turned her head to see a blonde woman waving at her, she felt a brief wave of panic. How long had that chick been trying to get her attention? Geez, she hoped she wasn't turning into one of those tourists types that fell off cliffs so observed in their attempt to make a nice selfie. As she turned her attention to the stranger, she offered to take the picture for her. Which meant either Kat had glanced over at the right time or...It was a super fan who didn't mind. Either way, it didn't seem like she needed to worry about reading the headline Kat Hale blows off fans.

Flashing a brilliant smile, Kat put her phone in her pocket and gathered her guitar, because she wasn't about to leave it unattended even if it was just thirty feet away. She'd make her way over the woman that had beckoned her. Kat's own brown eyes quickly assess the scene, darting between both Resse and Elizabeth. It'd be very easy to let herself get distracted with the looking. Both women were eyecatching.

The blonde who would soon introduce herself as Reese had lovely strands of sunkissed hair and dazzling blue eyes that drew Kat right in. Her outfit looked a great deal more comfortable than Kat's own, which was probably the right choice. No doubt Kat would be dying of the heat before too long, but she had wanted to look the part at least as she arrived.

The Redhead who would introduce herself as Elizabeth Staunton had delicate features and was just as lovely, and Kat's eyes couldn't help but be drawn to her lips. She had dressed just a touch conservatively, but that put Kat in pretty good company. Of course, the difference was that it looked like the Redhead could probably take off some layers without giving everyone an up-close idea of what she had on underneath.

Kat wouldn't be able to keep from doing a quick once over as she drew closer. Kat Stopped just a little short of arm's length away. Just enough to make a handshake easy and a hug awkward. And extend her hand, she did, offering it first to Reese, who had called her over but would offer it once more to Elizabeth when Reese had released it.

"My name is Katrielle Hale," she said. "Though you can call me Kat." She said though she suspected either one or both of them already knew that. She wasn't quite used to being a known celebrity yet, and always reverted to her basic small-town manners. Worse came to worse, it never hurt to be civil, and she figured if she acted like everyone ought just to know her at a glance, she might as well announce herself as Queen Ego.

"I wouldn't mind some help at all, though..." She'd pause, giving a thoughtful look as she let her eyes move up and down Reese one more time as if sizing her up. "Would you like to be in it with me?" She asked, taking the gamble that Reese was a fan and not someone who just wanted to be helpful.

"Of course, you're welcome to be in it too if you want," Kat said. "Do you go by Elizabeth?" She asked tilting her head curiously, wanting to call her new acquaintance whatever felt comfortable to her.

"We could probably find someone else who'd take our picture, or...If you don't mind getting in close, we could all share a selfie?" She asked. Hoping to god that she didn't sound so self-important that they ought to be honored that she'd think of it. Kat just knew that fans she encountered often liked to share a picture, and maybe offering it first would make their first meeting just a touch more memorable. Hoping that as she jumped the gun, that she had guessed right, and if she had, the suggestion wasn't as awkward for them as it felt to her.

The drink was a pleasant soothing warmth that somehow didn't battle with the heat of the sun as they moved closer to the island. Everett kept the straw close to his lips as he listened to Becky. There was something hypnotic about the way she spoke. New Orleans had always seemed like a faraway world to him, having never been. Now there was a hint of extra magic to it knowing that she lived there.

"All over America, huh? Sounds like you missed all the good parts."

Everett paled. His face turned into something between a cringe and a wince - the same look one might have if they realized they had accidentally kicked a puppy. Crap!
"OH! Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean." He frowned and started to step back, as he back bumped into the railing. "You're right. I haven't. I mean I had been across the coast..and... I... um, yeah."

Thankfully, Charlie had more to say that covered up some of his sputtering. He listened to her say where she lived and while it all sounded fascinating, his brain was still rebooting from his social faux pas.

Both ladies, really, seemed to come from places much more interesting than his rainy corner of Seattle where he mostly went from one tall grey building to another. That, of course, had been part of the reason for his trip/exile - to break out of his uncomfortable comfort zone. He certainly wasn't doing a great job of it so far.

Everett tried to hide inside his rapidly emptying glass as he looked between the two ladies. "Oh, I work in IT. Spend most of my time working on computers. So... yeah, explains why I suck with people." He blushed as his eyes went to Becky again.

Was the ferry docked yet? He might just have to chance it and swim the rest of the way.

Becky smiled at Charlie as she talked about where she'd been and where she might be. "Well remind me to give you my number when we're back in range of service so you can come stay with me if you ever need a place in New Orleans." Yup, southern hospitality was a thing. Even when one was on the other side of the world.

She listened as Charlie spoke, mouthing the word 'Yorkshire' after Charlie said it. It sounded so fancy with her accent! Yorkshire! And the way she described it. "Oh it sounds magical." Becky said a bit whimsically. "Closest I've ever been was the other Cara," she paused with a smile, a hand gently resting on Charlie's for a moment, "That's what us regulars call it," she said with a grin, her hand lifting as gently and casually as it had arrived, "I'd love to see it." She paused again, remembering why she never had. "Might be a little cold for me though..." Ah yes, deserts, tropical islands, the south, that was where Becky thrived.

Her eyes focused and twinkled as she saw the way Charlie played with her glass at Everett's compliment. Hmmmmm! She glanced back and forth between the two of them. Yes indeed she could see this happening.

But at the words 'sports industry' Becky winced a little, and first look of unhappiness crossed her face. It was a knee jerk reaction, one that she quickly stifled, but if anyone was paying attention they would catch it. She acted like it hadn't happened.

"Oh I run a little charity type place that helps southern girls catch their dreams." Becky said breezily. "Figured I got lucky so I might as well try to be the type of woman I wish there had been more of out there when I was growing up." She smiled rather brightly, obviously happy and proud of what she did.

But as Everett spoke it became clear Becky Washington, although she wasn't the type to say so about herself, might be a woman of many talents but keeping a straight face was not one of them.

As Everett started falling apart after her dig about where he'd been she burst out laughing at how befuddled the poor man looked. Her laugh was sweet-natured, warm-hearted, and infectious with sheer joy. "Oh sweetie." She said, setting her glass down she stepped back and around Charlie so that she was standing between them, slightly back from the railing. She put a hand gently on his arm, yup, just as tense as she thought it would be and let it squeeze him gently and reassuring. "I was just giving you a hard time."

She leaned into Charlie a little, her other hand just as casually and lightly brushing up against her arm as before, so that she was touching both of them at once, as if this could somehow bring their energy together as she stage-whispered to him, "Don't cute guys just get cuter when they get so nervous?"

She was very interested in the reaction this got, both from Everett and from Charlie.

"Ha, you are prepared for anything. A model scout," Reese said with a short laugh. She packed various outfits for vacation, but none of them were specifically geared towards romantic pursuits. "Much more than me. Anyway, I hope you get the chance to wear them and that the lucky lady appreciates your efforts."

She grimaced in quiet sympathy when the redhead mentioned her struggles if she basked in the sunlight too long. Reese was quite blessed in that regard. She often glowed after a day spent outdoors. Rather than make a big deal out of it, she instead allowed their conversation to switch to the topic of photography naturally. Her companion didn't seem to mind; if anything, she seemed pretty eager to discuss it at length.

"I don't think such a thing is possible," Reese teased upon hearing the notion of taking too many pictures. "Quantity means greater variety."

Her attitude towards pictures had changed a great deal from her youthful days. Picture day, back then, had been regarded with stomach-wrenching dread. She often loathed the instant her mother reached for a camera because it meant they'd spend the next several minutes poising for the perfect one.

"That's pretty amazing." Her compliment resonated with honesty because she admired people who followed their passions, especially artistic ones, rather than force themselves to work a more conventional office job. "Are you a freelance artist, or do you work for a company?" Unfortunately, Reese didn't know enough about photography to recognize the name drop, so she just nodded at the redhead's emulation plans. A bit of her excitement returned, though, when she agreed to take some pictures for her. "Absolutely not. You are extremely kind to want to waive the cost for me, but I insist on paying you for your time." Her head tilted to the side a little upon hearing the confused tone. She wasn't sure what had been unclear about her statement. "Personal trainer," she clarified with a gentle smile. "People pay me to make them sweat and feel sore."

She might've elaborated more about her job if not for becoming distracted by the presence of one of her favorite musicians. Her face turned a rosy hue when Kat not only acknowledged them but also decided to join them as well. Reese's heart felt like it might climb out of her chest and flop onto the deck. But, somehow, she managed not to shake Kat's hand off when she extended it to her. When she shook Elizabeth's hand, she flashed her a disbelieving look that said 'can you believe this?' but missed the fact that her new acquaintance was blissfully unaware that she was in the presence of a star.

A mixture of jubilation and shock crossed her features at the offer to join the photo. Only after a second of hesitation did she squeak out a reply. "I'd love to!" Upon hearing the idea of finding someone to take a picture for them, Reese spotted a lone female. "Miss?" She called out. "Miss, do you mind taking this picture for us?"

Haruka stared at the ocean as the Ferry neared itself to the docks of Caravanserai. She was so focused on staring that she hadn't realized that her legs had gone numb from the way she sat, crossed-legged. Her eyes were empty like she was stuck in a trance.

Haruka looked up as Reese's voice broke her out of her trance-like state. "Of course." She replied with a very slight Japanese accent, standing up from her seat, but wobbling a bit, to pat herself down.

"How did you guys want to take it?" Haruka asked, looking between the three of them, before tilting her head to the side and looking at Katrielle with the 'You look like someone famous' or 'You look like someone a client of mine had mentioned before' face. Although, Haruka didn't push it any further and decided to remain 'professional' and polite about it.

Is... Is that a scout who is also a model, or the ideal scout? Uh, probably that latter one. Not that it likely matters, that sounded super unflirty.Oh well. "Why, thank you. Plan for success, right? I'm pretty optimistic, what could be more romantic, mountains, waterfalls, all the amazing colors of the ocean, playing with the colors of the sunset, then building a little fire as the stars come out...it will be amazing!" Despite all the various issues in her life, Elizabeth was in fact a romantic, hopeful to finally find a long term partner to brighten up her life. The first trip to Caravanserai paradise had really launched her life and career out of a rut... Now the only thing she felt was lacking was someone to journey with her.

The redhead grinned, with a little shrug of her shoulders. She enjoyed Reese's sense of humor, and her general vibe... But the straight girl vibes were coming strong now. Dunno why she thought complements to my chest wouldn't be misinterpreted, but straight girl logic was incomprehensible. "It can! But my camera can take twenty pictures a second, I don't have to worry about running out of film, and that adds up a lot, fast. That's before you consider things like filters, light settings, all the million tweaks possible. I've probably got two hundred pictures to sort through just from the shoot you watched me do. Definitely means that I have a lot more opportunities to get something good, that a great shot isn't ruined by shaking or bird poop or something. Sitting down at the computer to sort through five thousand pictures is, uh, not my favorite. On giant works, I try to get an assistant just to cut out the worst ones, narrow my decisions down.

Sometimes it's fun to do it old fashioned, as if each photograph is expensive, and needs to almost be worthy of a gallery by itself. Really helps refine the goal behind each individual image, the story being told with the camera." As enthusiastic as she was about her photography magic, it could be hard to believe that it wasn't her main skill.

Wiggling her hand a little, the artist made a slight face. "Bit of both. I sort of have a patron, Apollo. He's invested a lot in my career, got me my first show.... Bought me the show, if I'm being fully honest. But that definitely droves me to do my best to not let him down. Aside from that partnership, I'm freelance." Her smile widened at the compliment, acknowledgement of her work always felt good. Self doubt was the first curse of any artist, though minor compared to the agony of actually exhibiting work for other people to judge with their wallets.

She couldn't help but let out the tiniest sigh... It would have just been so much easier if the blonde had accepted the admittedly flirty offer for the photo shoot... People were often stunned by the prices asked by artists, not aware of just how much work and design went into each and every photograph. "Mm. Ok. Are you wanting a commercial license or just for personal use? If you're wanting to use some of the shots for your business, that's fine, just a different contract and a different set up, different goal." The poor photographer seemed a little uncomfortable discussing the business side of her art, but it had to be done.

"Ahh.." she said softly, looking into the past for a minute, then favoring Reese with a soft smile. "That's really good. After, ah, my injury, my physical therapist was absolutely a lifesaver..." Perhaps not exactly the same thing, but close enough.

Elizabeth showed absolutely zero reaction to the introduction of the musician, clearly having not the faintest idea who she was. Her blue eyes, so close to the color of the ocean under foot, did light up a little at the name, if not for the normal reason. "Katrielle? That's a very unique name, I really like it." Her Mona Lisa smile indicated that she had noticed the attention paid to her lips, but was inviting enough to hint that the possibility of kisses were available if things went well.

The redhead probably wouldn't have inserted herself into the selfie if not invited... She much preferred being on the other side of the lens, but being photographed was part of her job description, and something she was getting much more used to. Being surrounded by beautiful ladies on a pleasant boat trip through gorgeous scenery was definitely a wonderful feeling. So she shuffled towards the front, used to being either in the front row of all photos or between the taller people, due to almost always being the shortest person in the room. "Hello Kat."

The smile increased a little more, pleased that the lovely younger woman was asking personal questions. "Yes, I usually go by Elizabeth. I don't mind if friends and family come up with nicknames, as long as it isn't Liz. That's one I've never liked."

“New Orleans, that must be such a vibrant place to live!” Charlie replied with genuine enthusiasm. “I might just have to take you up on that offer,” she added with a playful chuckle, “if I ever make it over to that part of the world. Having someone to point me in the right direction would be amazing.”

Charlie had decided that Becky was a woman of surprises. Her explanation about her job was nothing less than inspiring and she was about to say so when Becky turned her attention to the somewhat stammering Everett.

Charlie’s eyes widened at Becky’s question about cute guys getting cuter, a shocked but amused smile bowing her lips. She could laugh it off or offer Everett what would hopefully be seen as encouragement to relax and not worry quite so much.

“Well, while I would have to say that it’s not something I feel I have wealth of experience about, I think I’d have to agree with you.” She said, her eyes flitting to Everett’s face with a friendly expression on her own. “Although there’s really no need to be, nervous I mean.” She corrected with a wince at her own fumble. “Please do continue to be as cute as you like.”

Maybe no more cocktails for the time being. She thought as she drained the last of her drink, hoping she hadn’t completely fallen into the stereotype of the bumbling British type.

Elliot opened his mouth. Yep, he was stunned speechless and words just ran from his tongue.

Between Becky's touch on his arm and Charlie's agreement that he was cute, he was starting to turn ten shades of red. The cute comment - his brain was stuck in a loop as it debated whether it was a good thing. Being called cute by such lovely ladies had to be a compliment, right? It meant they noticed him! But it wasn't quite the description that most men would like to be seen as - tall, dark, and handsome. Wasn't that how the saying goes? So it was bad, but in a good way. And if it was good, how could it be bad?

Everett finished off his drink in one big gulp and finally muttered. "Man... it's warm, eh?" He realized how silly it was to say that while wearing long sleeves but it came out of his mouth anyway. There was a moment where he thought to take off his shirt - but that may further attract more banter about his appearance.

So he just stood there, sweating - tongue-tied and in (somewhat frightened) awe of the ladies currently holding his attention.

"Yes, yes, it definitely is," Charlie agreed with Everett's comment about the temperature, wishing she hadn't finished her drink so she'd have something to sip to back up her words. She could see for herself the flush that had filtered onto his cheeks and she was fairly sure it was only partly due to the sun shining down incessantly upon them. She felt bad that her eagerness to make new acquaintances might have put him in a position of discomfort. She almost wondered if she should excuse herself using the need for another drink as her reasoning but she didn't really want another one and she didn't want Becky or Everett to think she wasn't enjoying getting to know them, because she was.  "Thankfully there's that sea breeze to stop us all melting entirely."

"I don't know about you two but I'm looking forward to dry land and the chance to change out of these clothes so I can find the pool! Or the beach." She added as something of an afterthought, leaning over the railing slightly to try and gauge how much longer they had on the boat. The island was growing ever larger up ahead and she was sure the Captain had given them some indication about the length of the crossing, although time had become slightly 'fluid' since she'd started talking with Becky and Everett.

Lyron

Name: Brad Warren
Date | Time: July 1st, 2025
Wearing: A powder blue shirt and yellow Bermuda shorts, sunglasses
Location: Ferry
Tagging: Charlie, Becky, Everett, Open

Bradley Warren was a simple man with simple desires. He wasn't one to turn up his nose at day drinking. He just decided that a pink lemonade hit the spot. Between that and his getup, he felt like a variety pack of marshmallow Peeps. Secondary motive.

His ride above deck started with him people-watching the people-watcher from a chair. Why? Well, why not? Compared to most of the tourists, the man's attire didn't exactly fit for a trip to an island getaway. His solitude drew attention among those who were with friends or were chit-chatting with strangers. A workaholic who had an epiphany? A newly divorced man? He was handsome. Maybe he had gotten lucky one night. But definitely a workaholic. Most would be glittery-eyed at the ocean if they weren't busy puking their guts out. Overall, the man wavered between uncertainty and disinterest.

Until a pair of ladies beckoned him into their circle. Becky. Charlie. For an eavesdropper, the yell carried well enough on the salty breeze. Becky seemed to be the social butterfly. Brad could just make out Charlie's British accent.

The waters had appeared calm, but apparently the man hadn't learned how to swim. He clung to his alcoholic drink like a lifebuoy.

Brad stood. His free hand removed his sunglasses from his face and clipped them to the collar of his shirt. Thus began his Baywatch amble. The sinking really took off when Becky leaned teasingly and made a remark. The man got sweaty and red-faced like a marathon runner. It sounded as though the British woman was trying to smooth over the situation, but Brad had already prepared a remark and chose to move forward with it. The Baywatch slow-mo was no joke.

"Have you ladies been giving this poor man a hard time?" His voice normally didn't carry inflections well. Sometimes, Brad envisioned himself as an old detective weathered by years on the job with retirement on the horizon, just a couple of decades early and instead because he contended with celebrities for a living. Still, the words vibrated his chest with enough warmth and humor not to go misconstrued, and a smile touched his lips. His attention flicked to the man. Ice clinked as he tipped his glass. "Who would've thunk it that life vests would be needed for this trip. I think I saw some hanging around here somewhere." He took a quick sip of his lemonade. "Did I overhear that the pool or the beach was first on the agenda? Based on what the captain said a bit ago, it sounds as though we're getting close to shore. I'm deciding between a nap or some real food myself."

'Ew, this up and down, up and down, up and down. Why didn't anyone tell me?'

Had anyone turned toward the tatted-up woman leaning against the ferry's railing, they would have immediately noted the distinct lack of color and rivulets of sweat seeping across her brow. She hated travel by water but the agent she'd used to arrange this vacation had sworn she'd love arriving at the island by boat. Why had she listened to that inane woman? She flippin' knew better, right? Three and half decades spent alive on this planet and she STILL couldn't say no when someone became insistent.

'Dumb ass!'

Eventually, conversations began to register as something other people were having. One slim hand gripped the railing for dear life as she wobbled upright and turned slowly to see who was close by. Immediately, her dark gaze landed on a conglomeration of people, male and female, all exceedingly attractive in their own ways. Two guys, one of them built like he bench pressed trucks on his off days, the other long and lean and both "conventionally" handsome. The women were built along model lines, toned forms, long hair, innocent smiles. Did anyone come on vacation and look horrid, ever?

She gave a slight smile as a passing server handed her a glass of pink lemonade. The scent pricked at her nostrils and invited sipping so, she did just that. Somehow, the very tartness soothed her roiling belly enough that she could let go of the railing. Setting herself for a stroll by swiping one elegant hand over her flustered features, Tee wandered closer to the foursome and waited until there was a lull in the conversation.

"Excuse me," her husky contralto intruded lightly, "Does anyone know how much longer my stomach is going to have to withstand this torment?"

Reese's excitement was pretty easy to discern. That was a good thing. It let Kat know to make sure the experience was positive, even if it was just for Reese. Though Kat might protest that she would never get used to people being excited about herself. The truth was she was becoming reasonably adept at putting her surprise aside and trying to step into the role that she perceived a rockstar would. More than that, Kat felt it was important to reward such a reaction like Reese's. The truth was seeing it and knowing it was the hard work Katrielle put into the career that made all of it worthwhile for her.

Elizabeth had been more reserved than her friend. Or acquaintance? Kat had quickly tried to discern the expectations of both women, and Elizabeth was the harder of the two to read. She might have been simply playing it cool. A lot of people didn't want to get too much into a celebrities face. But it was far more likely that Kat was just obscure fact famous. Just like one person in a group might know a random fact or topic they were excited about. Katrielle was famous enough to be recognized by a person in a group. Emphasis on a person.

As she discerned the lovely redhead, she wouldn't miss Elizabeth was doing the same back to her. That she had caught her checking her out, and she made sure to note that her attention wasn't unwelcome. Kat made sure to keep that in mind for later. Though just as soon she made the observation Elizabeth commented on Katrielle's unique name. Which probably meant she hadn't heard it before, which probably told that if she did know Kat's music, it was as that random catchy song on the radio.

"Thank you," Katrielle said at the compliment of her name. "My parents wanted my name to be unique after naming my older brother Scott hehe." She explained with a laugh.

"Alright, Elizabeth, it is then," Kat added when Elizabeth told Kat her preference. Maybe if fate had it, they'd see more of each other on the island. Kat would get familiar enough to start using a nickname naturally, but it was no big deal to use her full name in the meantime.

After taking Kat's hand in their introduction, Reese exclaimed her approval to share the picture with Kat after just a moment of hesitation. She had an excellent eye. She had picked Kat out of a ship filled with people and recognized her, and with only a moment, caught sight of another lone passenger that she could enlist to take the picture.

"You got a good eye for people." Kat complimented Reese. "If they have scavenger hunts can I be on your team?" She said playfully with a warm smile.

Turning her eyes over to her third-to-be acquaintance in as many minutes, Kat had to admit there was a ton of lovely women on the ship. The third woman was just as beautiful as the two in front of her. Kat always found accents attractive regardless of their origin. Kat came from a small town whose residents were terrified of anything slightly out of the norm, and Katrielle had yet to outgrow that small-town girl dreaming of the bigger world altogether. Kat made note that she wasn't the only one on unsteady legs on the boat.

If Reese had known exactly who she was and a friend and Elizabeth had no clue who she was. Haruka's roaming eyes were the middle ground. There was a degree of recognition. Kat guessed she had seen a video or an interview in passing, maybe saw her face in a magazine, but the truth was Kat's voice was more famous than her face was, so Haruka's reaction was the most common...That was a lie; Elizabeth's was the most common.

"Well," Kat said to Haruka's question with a pause. "We can take the picture on my phone, and then either assuming our new friend is fine with it," She said, referring to Haruka's willingness and patience. "She could use whatever camera you two would like a picture on. Or I could text you both the first picture." She asked, tilting her head, asking their preference.

It'd be giving Reese and Elizabeth her actual number, but Kat didn't get the impression they'd blow it up, or worse, share it. Hell, maybe by the end of her stay, they'd be friends and have her number anyway. Maybe that was naïve, but both had made positive impressions on her, and maybe having a person or two to coordinate events around would prove to make the vacation all the more fun.

"Don't let me invade your bubble. You guys can get as close as you're comfortable with, and if I need to back up, let me know." Kat said in a cheerful voice. Letting both of them get as close as they liked or needed to while trying not to make either of them feel entrapped. Once Elizabeth and Reese had figured out where they wanted to be. Kat would lift her right hand and make the rock devil horns hand gesture with a smile and wait for Haruka to take their picture(s).

Becky kept one hand on Charlie's and the other on Everett's and slowly moved them towards each other as they spoke.

"Absolutely." She beamed to Charlie, making a mental note to get her information ready to send to the woman once they had signals. To Everett's words she could do nothing but maintain a bright smile as she struggled mightily not to burst out with giggles.

My work here is done. Becky thought smugly to herself, letting go of their hands in a soft, subtle way that they might not even realize at first she'd left them touching each other's hands.

She was just about to make a smooth getaway when she got called out by a pleasant voice that she, upon turning to it saw was attached to another rather pleasant man to look at. "What? Lil' ol' me?" She responded with as sugary sweet voice and a flutter of her eyelashes, her free hand motioning to her chest in manner that might seem like she was about to do declare something. "Beach is first on my agenda, sugar." She said, her eyes sparkling at the thought of this well built man with his shirt off at exactly that location. "Y'all should meet us there!"

Her attention was once again stolen though as a voice that sounded as though it was mid-lurch caused her turn, and the sugar and spice smile on her face turned into a look of concern as she instinctively stepped closer to Tiana and put her free hand out, wrapping it around the woman's waist and holding her to help steady the woman. She looked as green around the gills as Becky had ever seen! Must be from somewhere inland and never been on a boat before.

"Woah easy girl I got you." Becky said soothingly. "Take a breath sweetie you look too good to go ruining it." As she held her though and she took her in she became aware of how rather absurd it was for a woman built like her to be supporting a woman built like this. The woman looked like she could bench press Becky, which was no mean feat! "Not to mention ripped, damn I thought I'd gotten in good shape for this, what are you just stopping by on your way to the Olympics?" She hoped her providing a steady, if somewhat soft, form to lean against and a stream of compliments and friendliness might help the woman ease her unease a bit.

Meanwhile, her eyes found a moment to flash back to Charlie and Everett and see how they'd responded to Becky sneakily putting their hands together.

Apollo? Reese’s forehead creased as she pondered on the name. Nothing sparked to mind. You’d think she’d remember with a name like that. Rather than grow frustrated about her lapse of memory, she simply pinned the mention for later research if she remembered. Caravanserai had a habit of distracting people from their original intentions.

“That’s pretty cool of him,” she said, admiration shining from her eyes. “It’s rare these days for someone to take you under their wing.”

She was curious why he decided to sponsor her career but didn’t voice that question for fear of it being too personal. Who knows? Maybe Elizabeth would share more about her sponsor after they hung out more.

Reese noticed the subtle shift in Elizabeth’s demeanor after she mentioned paying for the photoshoot. Immediately, a wave of guilt assailed her as upsetting the woman hadn’t been her intention. She’d been trying to be courteous and appreciative. As a person in an unconventional profession, she knew all too well how some people didn’t respect the level of dedication she put into her craft. They sought to negotiate her prices or claim that her job wasn’t, in fact, work.

Now, if the prices were sky high, she’d need more than the redhead’s word that they were worth that amount of money. However, she thought that obstacle was a big deal seeing how most people had examples of their work online.

“Business and personal intermingle a lot for me, so perhaps it’s best to say the former.” She kept a smile plastered on her face even though she was reconsidering the photoshoot altogether. “Maybe this isn’t the best place to discuss the particulars. Let’s chat about it another time.”

Thankfully, any awkwardness was avoided by the presence of a superstar. At least on Reese’s end. Katrielle seemed so awesome and down-to-earth. Her chill manner made Reese love her all the more. She’d read articles about the musician being wonderful to her fans, but it was different to experience it firsthand.

Reese somehow managed to hear Elizabeth’s nicknames comment despite being bedazzled by their celebrity company. “You know,” she chuckled, “You’re not the first Elizabeth to say that. For whatever reason, Liz and Beth aren’t anybody’s favorites.”

Her boldness paid off, and the slender Asian woman approached them with intent to take their picture. Fabulous! She nodded at the mention of taking the picture with a phone, ready to take out hers, but then Kat volunteered her own. She stared with wide-eyed surprise at the musician as if she’d lost her mind.

“Are you sure?” She asked, speaking before thinking about it. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “I mean, of course. It’s your phone.”

Maybe it was a burner phone? Must be. She wouldn’t just give her actual number to strangers.

Reese stood beside Kat and flashed a million-dollar smile at the young woman who agreed to take their picture. A few snaps later, the picture-taking session was complete. She scooted over to grant the women some space but remained by the railing of the ferry.

"Thank you," she said to the young lady who took their pictures. Faint concern crossed her face, however, when she noticed a young woman not having a great time. "Ooh. Feel so bad for her. Hopefully, this ferry ride isn't too long. I stared at enough water on the plane ride over."

Elizabeth Ecsed

Name: Elizabeth Staunton

The redhead nodded cheerfully, grinning all mischievously. "Oh, he's a royal pain in my posterior, but he's a truly great guy. Single, too!" She gave Reese a exaggerated wink, breaking into giggles. "Seriously though, a great catch, if you run into him and are interested in that sort of thing." It was pretty clear that she could care less about that entire side of humanity, but she had been serious about the Apollo details. "We've been friends for a really long time... One of my few friends, in fact." It didn't bother her mentioning that, she was aware her life had been an odd one.

Rubbing at her neck, the artist nodded. "Yeah, that's probably a good plan. I am quite happy to do the shoot, just let me know." Stupid money, messing up everything... Reese has meant well, but negotiating a business deal was a delicate art Elizabeth wasn't great at. They had similar views about the misconception many people had about art  and how much it should cost... Everything was just annoyingly difficult deciding what to charge for who and what. Then there were the people who requested a basic package then demanded the world for a cheap price. Such a mess. Easiest not to deal with it all now.

Katrielle's joke wasn't the funniest, but definitely enough for a giggle and smile. "I'm an only child, for various reasons. Do you have a lot of siblings?"

Good luck flirting with Reese, lovely Katrielle. Wouldn't put too much effort into it if I were you. But she kept such thoughts off her face, not entirely willing to write off the attraction to Reese, but not clinging to any vague hopes. There were plenty of women, surely one would be enthusiastic about exploring the possibility of romance with a lovely redhead artist. "Oh, uh, a text works." Gracefully leaning back, she slipped a business card out of her case, the motion clearly practiced to be done smoothly, then passed to Kat. The front had all the usual contact information, name, email, online presence, super imposed over a sunrise peeking above a foggy lake, a vaguely haunting picture she had taken. On the back was a very nearly photo realistic drawing of the artist herself, looking all pensive and creative, somehow just radiating the Muses inspiration and her powers to conjure art. The woman was clearly immensely talented, only the colors being slightly hyper realistic and little tiny pencil marks revealing the fact that it was other than a photograph.

"Mm, Beth is a different name in my mind, and all the kids at school called me limpy Liz the lez." Far too much information, delivered in a quite emotionless tone, dismissed with a shrug. On some level she knew making people uncomfortable wasn't the best, but at the same time...   It was pretty fair warning that she could be a little prickly and awkward. Reese's most interesting face seemed to be about Kat's phone... Which seemed quite normal to the redhead. Unusual.

Her smile was less brilliant than the other two ladies, much more professional. Being in photos wasn't her favorite, but it was nice to be included. After the task was done, the other woman thanked, the redhead looked up at the instigator of the group selfie. Could it still be called a selfie for multiple people? "So Katrielle." Yes, she remembered she was authorized to shorten it to Kat, but enjoyed playing with the much cooler name, rolling it around on her tongue and turning it almost into a sentence by itself. "That's a guitar case, right? I really like the artwork, tres cool. What kind do you play?"

Wearing: Casual white tank top, blousy denim maxi skirt, white sun hat, non-slip chunky sandals.
Location: Ferry
Tagging: Becky, Tiana, Open

Nona was skipping back and forth between scenery and people watching as she moved quietly along the deck of the ferry, snapping more than her share of gorgeous pics of the scenery and just getting a feel for the other passengers headed towards vacations of their own.  She might have felt a little underdressed compared to some but that was her casual style, and she had several outfits packed for that day or night that called for glamming it up good and proper.

The hat was her one specifically purchased for this trip accessory, and it did a mediocre job of keeping the sun and her long hair out of her eyes, the ocean breeze taking its fair share of blame for the latter to be sure.  It was relaxing, right, that was why she was here, to decompress, to think about things in the best way possible, by not thinking about them at all.  Still, you could take the healer out of her office and the clinic, but she still was who she was and seeing one woman looking ready to either drop with dizziness or toss her last meal overboard with a sweaty, washed out look that truly did not fit the Olympian goddess she seemed to be, Nona headed her way, hand already reaching into the bag that hung from her right shoulder as she saw another woman get their first to render aid.

Gawking at a pair of unmatchable beauties, each remarkable to say the very least, in their own physically gawk-worthy way, was not on the menu of things Nona intended for that day, or really any day ever, but she managed to break her eyes away from the mix of curves, a mix between the two of taut and lush curves, arcs and just plain wow-ness, and heard the woman who had come to the rescue using her voice, the touch and steadying of her hand and arm around the under the weather force of nature, and drawing the seasick beauty close to rest, find some equilibrium and comfort that was offered with a graceful, easy charm that was sincerity laced in a way that one neither heard nor felt nearly often enough.

“Hey…Hi there, looks like you have known better moments, and will soon, we just have to get you there first, huh?” Nona spoke to both women, greeting each and speaking to the woman who was sweating that cold, wicked sweat no one ever wanted to feel.  Her hand was offered, not empty or simply in greeting, but a trio of small, soft and loosely wrapped treats of some sort lay in her palm.

“If you can, these might help, and they won’t hurt at the very least.  Homeopathic, natural, it will distract and settle your tummy a bit while your rescuer distracts and settles the rest, if you want to try one,” Nona offered, taking one with her free hand, unwrapping it and popping the soft ginger and peppermint chew into her own mouth, the flavors surprisingly compatible and not as overwhelming on the tongue as one might expect, “I can never fully figure out if Chimes is the brand, the name of the candy itself or both, but the kind of stuff that has worked for thousands of years, and tasty too.”

She had an extra little bottle of water she had tucked into her bag as well, one of those eight ounce ones that were a full cup, but in bottle form looked inexplicably smaller than that.  Nona offered the tasty remedy and a smile for both, her voice easy and soothing, not drawing any more attention to the twosome she joined for a moment, even as the ferry swooped up and slid down a long and lazy swell that it swept atop and past.

"Woah easy girl I got you. Take a breath sweetie you look too good to go ruining it."

A divine angel sent from the heavens above suddenly encircled Tee's waist, her voice a low, slow, seductive coo of sound that immediately made the stunt woman want to lay down. How the hell did she manage that? Tee blinked rapidly and forced her dark gaze onto the woman who'd swooped into steady her and allowed a small dimpled grin to touch the corners of full lips.

"Mamita, you looked in the mirror recently??" Because truth to power, the gods were playing NO JOKES when they built her. Of course, it didn't sound quite as self-assured as Tee had wanted. Still, words were given to the air and that was good, right? The woman continued her commentary and somehow managed to bring a flush to unusually pale cheeks but Tee gave it back, anyway. "Most of the girls in the Olympics can't do what I can do..." She paused. "Or if they can, they don't brag about it." Her grin was interrupted by a particularly vile wave and the arrival of yet another hottie.

“Hey…Hi there, looks like you have known better moments, and will soon, we just have to get you there first, huh?”

Tee swiveled slightly, bringing the beauty with the booty along for the conversation. Dark eyes flicked over the taller woman before a shaky grin attempted to find a home on the poor sea sick woman's lips. "At this point, I am willing to try anything." Luckily, the woman had some "anything" on hand. Tee grabbed a piece of candy and popped it into her mouth before releasing a little chuckle. "Tastes like ginger root tea flavored with mint." She paused as a wash of some unknowable emotion flowed over her features and left a patina of sadness behind. "My mother used to make it for me when my tummy was upset."

Another wave sent her stumbling slightly but the inexplicable rise of nausea did not follow. "Oh. I might make it after all! Anyway, I'm Tiana  but call me Tee. No idea who this beautiful do-gooder is but I am pleased ta meetcha both."

“Hrmm, so that is what is mixed in with the sugary goodness,” Nona winked playfully at Tee and her friend, “My mum too, and ironically she used it in tea, Tee, but kind of hard to carry that around unless you have a Saint Bernard to attach the cask to, but I couldn’t get one into my carry on luggage,” she replied with a soft lilt of laughter in her voice, glad that Tee seemed to be responding well, especially to her first rescuer's attentions, and smiled at them both, sweeping some errant strands of her long mane out of her face as the sea breeze didn’t cooperate in that moment or any other moment to be truthful.

“I’m Nona, very glad to meet you both.  I know some amazing hangover remedies too, just in case that comes in handy while anyone is here,” Nona offered, worried for a moment that it made her sound like a party girl, rather than a lady who didn’t mind a great party, but didn’t crave or live for them.  She really didn’t know what to expect, the place was recommended by a friend, but they were the sort who kept details to a minimum to not ruin the trip with expectations or opinions of another, but it was obviously a great place just based on the bright and sunny smile of the person who recommended it as she told Nona of it.

“Either of you been here before?  My imagination is running wild, but that is kind of normal for me anyway.  Wouldn’t mind a couple of suggestions…about things to do and places to see I mean,” Nona added the last bit after a short pause, whether for effect to allow interpretation or just her way of speaking to two stunning ladies she just met, even she didn’t know why it came out that way.

"To do? Um, hmm." For a moment, Everett had gotten lost in the conversation. He was thoroughly embarrassed but there was something about the attention that had warmed the center of his chest.

"The pool sounds nice. I...." A side effect was that he had completely forgotten the specific itinerary he had charted out in his brain beforehand. He was tempted to pull out the brochure he had stuffed in his back pocket, but currently, he had one hand on his drink. And the other hand... well.

Everett started to share down, when another voice detailed his train of thought.

"Have you ladies been giving this poor man a hard time?"

The man speaking was certainly something. Just slightly taller than Everett, he had much more on him in the way of muscle and swagger. Goodness, everyone he had seen so far on the way to the resort had been amazing to look at. It was hard to be even more embarrassed or out of his element, but the way he shifted on his feet gave a clear indication of his body doing its damndest to try.

"Err, I'm fine, thanks. They are ... we are just talking." He had known it was a joke but felt it important to respond anyway, as if to give Charlie the idea that he was offended by her 'cute' comment.

His stomach growled at the mention of food. Surely he had eaten before he boarded the ferry that morning but perhaps it was the energy burned to sustain the rosy stain on his cheeks or just his desire to help metabolize the contents of his now empty glass, but Everett was hungry.

Once again, he thought of his brochure - when were the eateries open at the resort again? Reaching back to grab at it, it was then he remembered his 'free' hand and finally saw that his fingers had been brushing up against the soft skin of Charlie's hand for a while.

Blush in overdrive. "Oh... crap, I mean, excuse me. Sorry." He raised his hand to run through his hair, a guilty look forming on his face even though he couldn't suppress a sheepish grin. As it came together that this was all Becky's doing, his eyes found hers across the boat deck. She was trouble for sure. Between she, Charlie, and this new man - Everett felt like he might need some saving after all.

Haruka took Kat's phone and snapped a couple of pictures, allowing the three women to pose as she got into the stereotypical Asian picture-taking postures. "That was great! Keep it up!" Haruka said as if they were in a professional photoshoot.

"Alright," She handed the phone back to Kat. "Let me know what you guys think! And I can use the bigger camera if you want as well. I don't think I can capture pictures as well as you with that type of camera, but I can certainly try my best." Haruka said with a smile towards the shyer-looking woman.

"I don't think I caught your names, but I'm Haruka, Haruka Aoi. Urologist." She told them, plugging her business in whenever she could, although it made little sense in this current case since she never takes in women as clients. Becky found herself being dragged away from one threesome and into another, she managed a happy wave and a "See you two later!" With a grin at Charlie and Everett and a  "Nice to meet you Brad!" As he attempts to keep in a supportive position of the precariously balanced Tiana meant she was now a bit further away and in a mingle group with those two ladies instead.

She kept her position with one arm about Tiana's waist, being a support and a friendly presence, her other hand brushed some of Tiana's long hair back and gave it a few soothing strokes, treating Tiana a bit like she was mix of her patient and her cat. "Hang in there girl, we're almost there." She said with a positive smile as the ladies talked tea. She was rather intrigued at what exactly it was Tiana could do that Olympians couldn't, but she figured that might be a question for later. Tiana seemed like the type of woman who could do whatever she wanted. Becky sure as heck wouldn't be the one to get in her way!

"I'm Becky." She offered at an opportune moment. "I've been to the one in the Sahara," she said, smile irrepressible as she thought of those memories. "It was A-MA-ZING!" Becky emphasized the word as much as one human being ever could emphasize one word. Her eyes widened, her free hand spread wide as if she was showing off an entire vision of joy, her hips wiggled a bit as if in memory of a non-stop party, bumping up a bit against Tiana in the process provoking an instant, "Oh sorry!" (not because being hip bumped by Becky was at all unpleasant, but rather that jostling a woman having problems with her sea legs might be dicey!) and then was instantly smiling again. "Really, best money I ever spent in my life. If this place is even half as good...Mmmmmm!" She closed her eyes and sighed happily for a moment, still holding Tiana up as if she needed to or the woman might fall over.

"Nice to meet y'all." She said with a grin as she suddenly opened her eyes. "Maybe we can find the bar later and then the next morning see if those hangover cures work." She laughed playfully at Nona. She'd have laughed again if she knew Nona was worried about being seen as a party girl. That was exactly the sort Becky was hoping to run into here!

Charlie couldn’t help but laugh as someone unfamiliar suggested life jackets might be needed before long. The analogy probably wasn’t too far from the truth given how Everett seemed to shrink ever so slightly as their group increased, even if only by one or two.

She hadn’t noticed the change in pressure against her hand or the way hers kept drifting to the one nearest to it until she saw one of Everett’s almost panicked glances downwards and realised what Becky had done before she’d skipped away with the gorgeous, if slightly seasick, woman who’d arrived on the scene.

His fumbled apology about his hand only serving to endear him further. He really did seem to be out of his element and the arrival of the taller guy had only seemed to emphasise that fact.

“It’s quite alright, really,” Charlie assured Everett as she pushed some of her own hair back behind her ear with the hand that had just been brushing alongside his, her eyes glancing down at the deck for a second or two as she tried to regain some semblance of control over herself.

“I’m Charlie,” she offered her hand to the newest, broad-shouldered arrival with a smile and a glance upwards to meet his eyes, which required her chin to lift a fraction higher than it did to talk to Everett. “Pleasure to meet you…?” She tailed off hoping he’d fill in the blank for her and, if nothing else, buy Everett a moment or two longer to compost himself. Or excuse himself, if he felt he really had to. Although if he did, she’d already decided to try and seek him out at the resort to apologise properly if she’d made him feel awkward in anyway.

“And I have to admit, now that you mention it, a nap doesn’t sound half bad. Perhaps I’ll kill two birds with one stone, as it were, and have a nap by the water.” She grinned.

The idea of being still for a while was a welcome one. Even if the flight had required her to be fairly sedentary for hours on end, she’d not been able to fully relax since she’d left the UK. The lure of a sandy beach, a cool drink and a comfortable place to lie down was one she knew she’d not be able to resist if faced with it. An air conditioned bedroom was one thing, a nap with the gentle sound of the waves upon the shore was quite another.

Becky was a wiley one. Brad had been watching the trio on his way over. He noticed what she was doing. It was entertaining to see that the other two hadn't picked up on her antics. A small smile sprouted on his lips, and humor glinted in his eyes as he stared between the fluttering eyelashes and the hand placed upon the woman's chest. Surely his expressions were subtle enough for the other two. He decided to do his part and play along. Already he had managed to prolong the man's obliviousness by butting in, so he also would pretend to be unaware of the digits that connected Charlie and the man.

The man who decided to regard his remark seriously. Wasn't he as precious as a child in his Sunday best on Easter morn'? Damn. Becky's southern accent was infiltrating his internal monologue. He smiled. "Oh. Good. My CPR certification is a few years out of date. It wouldn't have been a pretty sight." It wasn't entirely true. Saying he stayed current would only welcome trouble, surely.

It almost already happened. Brad piggy-backed on the comments Charlie made before he had interrupted. A new woman appeared shortly after, clearly unwell, but tight. There were hard abs under that dress. She could probably give him a few pointers. As it turned out, before he could respond to Becky's invitation, her services had been rendered here and were needed elsewhere. The pair of ladies wandered off with a third joining them. "Nice meeting you," he bounced back to Becky.

Events between the other two had unfolded while his head was turned. His eyebrows raised slightly as he caught up. He had half heard the exchange, but their new...disconnect and the rejuvenated blush on the man's face would have clued him in all the same. It took about a minute or two. Not bad.

Charlie introduced herself and prompted for his name. "Brad. The pleasure's all mine." He tucked in the hand with his drink and extended the other out to his side. The bow didn't go very far, like an inch or two or three. Any more involved enthusiasm that he couldn't afford. An older ape had to conserve his energy. When the blonde gave her addendum to her plans, he smiled. "You're a bad influence, Charlie. It's clever." He raised his glass. "Nothing beats an ocean lullaby under the sun, or so I imagine. You'll be asleep like a newborn."

He turned toward the other man. Hopefully he had a moment to compose himself. As tempting as it would be to keep the man as a tomato, Brad would have to bite his tongue on any teasing remarks for now, or else he really might have to bust out the CPR. "I didn't catch your name, sir." He held out his free hand. If his offer would be accepted, he'd follow through with a gentle squeeze. "No holding out on us now. What are your plans?"

It made perfect sense to Kat that Elizabeth had a preference for what she liked to be called, and how certain names just rubbed people wrong. She'd had a friend back in high school named Randy, whom everyone called Randal and he hated it. There hadn't been any specific reason for it, beyond it wasn't his name, and had Elizabeth left it at that Kat wouldn't have had a single thought about. It was easy to pay people respect and call them by their preferred titles after all.

Despite herself though, Kat's eyes widened in surprise when Elizabeth shared what must have been personal and probably painful memories of her past with her and Reese. Kat had expected from her reserved nature that Elizabeth might take some warming up before sharing but...That theory got tossed overboard. Kat went from knowing her name, to knowing her limp wasn't just a temporary injury, she was a lesbian, and that she had been open with her Sexuality since school. None of which was bad, it was just more than she expected. Kat's surprise subsided quickly.

"You knew some assholes in school." Kat said with a light frown, taking the information in stride. "Kids are like small town residents, gotta involve themselves in everyone's business.." She said, offering a bit of personal information back.  Or trying too anyway.

Happily if the moment had been destined to be awkward, Reese's timely interception of Haruka provided a distraction and their attention could turn to getting the offered picture.

"Ooh yeah, you guys seem pretty chill.." Kat said, making sure to leave any doubt out of her voice as she did so.

Was Kat sure it was a good idea to give the other two women her phone number? Well there was degrees of sure. Though any doubt was kept off her features she did wonder if maybe she was still being a little to liberal with that kind of thing. Layla King who was her bassist preached getting a burner phone. But Kat didn't want the hassle of carrying around two phones and managing them. Trying to keep track of who was in what, and she felt like if she started she'd start looking at people down her nose. Like ew you're a burner, that felt scummy. She operated on vibes, and she had good ones with Reese and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth gave Katrielle a business card with her information on it that was pretty artistic. One side being what she guessed was a snapped picture, showing Elizabeth did have a good eye for such things, and the back part.

"This is a pretty cool design." Katrielle praised her lightly before she lined up for the pictures. Kat was very used to being in groups and fans so it as they paused the picture might have been the most comfortable she had felt.

"Yes thank you." Kat said, taking her phone back from Haruka.

"So just give me your number and I'll text it too you, and then if you want to hang out sometime at the hotel you know how to reach me." Kat said the last part with a wink, turning her attention briefly to Reese.

Then, Haruka introduced herself as a urologist. Which was...A doctor of...Something to do with health. She'd make a mental note to google it when she could do so without drawing suspicion.

"Nice to meet you Haruka." she said pleasantly. I'm Katrielle Hale...Rockstar" she introduced herself with the same respect Haruka had just shown her. "Have you been a urologist long?" She asked.

Elizabeth inquired about Kat's guitar next and she turned her attention back to the redhead with a smile, happy someone appreciated the case. While the guitar itself had been a gift with...A lot of strings attached. The case she had treated herself too. It was also a gift of sorts but only in the sense of the time the artist put into it.

"Thanks!" she said her features lighting up as she spoke. "Yeah i got a cherry red fender jaguar inside. I write the songs for my band and you never know when inspiration might strike." She explained in a nonchalant tone. "A very dear friend of mine is a artist and when I said I wish i had a more impressive case, she offered to take some time to paint it for me." She said, stepping to the side and letting Elizabeth and her other current companions to see it.

"I adore it, it's my favorite gift." She explained gazing down it, clearly showing a deep fondness for it. She almost treasured the case more than the instrument inside. Though she of course took good care of both.

Tee listened as the other ladies chatted, her stomach slowly coming back to some semblance of normalcy. She hated being so sensitive and it was annoying to look weak in front of people she considered attractive. Still, she did try to put herself out there and even went so far as to move a bit away from Becky and her exuberance. After all, constraint did not seem to be what that young lady was about!

"Shoot, they had one of these in the desert? I am sorry I missed it!" Tee was far more comfortable with sand as far as the eye could see! With a shrug, she offered up a bit of information about herself and her lack of knowledge. "This is my first real vacation since I retired from the MMA and took up directing stunts and choreographing fights for the pictures. I am hoping like hell someone can lead me around and tell me what to do!" She paused for a moment and tossed wind-blown curls away from her eyes. "I think it's been about ten years since the last time I took a break."

Turning slightly, she smiled at the curvaceous angel that had originally come to her rescue. "Did they have activities and such when you went to the last one?" A grin graced her features as she shifted to take in the candy provider with the sweet smile. "Nona and I need to be prepared!!"

Becky and Tiana were both like goddesses to Nona, each in their own way, and they had her in a giddy mood just meeting them as the first people whose names she learned on this far more glamorous than usual vacation for her,

“I think the bar will definitely be a place to find and celebrate at this evening, but is it the bar, or one of many?” Nona asked, showing perhaps that her knowledge of expensive resorts and cruise ships and the like was far more from reading and hearing about them than experiencing them in her own life.

“MMA?” Nona said aloud, not loudly, but not just in her mind, and suddenly the incredibly fit and powerful figure that Tiana possessed came into both understanding and awe, “Is it okay to ask for stories from your career, or is that verboten?  Just want to make sure I know the ground rules before the first time we have a drink together, I am pretty loose lipped once I get a buzz on…and same for you, lady luscious, I want to hear all about the oasis in the dessert and the watering hole there too,” Nona said, hoping she didn’t come across as too much of a hick.  She was very middle class, had a good job, did some interesting things, even more interesting parentage, but these two made her feel a little plain Jane, not in a mean way or anything.  Luckily Nona was not the insecure sort and things like that passed in and out of her mind and feelings pretty quickly.

“Don’t you two start getting me all up in taking care of you mode, because I will do that and not think twice.  I know someone I worked with that used to take the most amazing cruises by working medical staff on the cruise ships, got paid to be on a cruise…I mean, she worked then too, but the fringe benefits were fantastic.”

Nona shared her smile in turn with each of the ladies and then looked out towards the dock they would be arriving on, now all the more excited and the good kind of nervous about what this adventure would be like and eager to get it officially started.

"Hm, Rockstar...very interesting," Haruka replied to Katrielle before answering her question. "I've been a urologist for nearly a decade now, more if you count when I decided what to study." She said before going onto a long tangent about her life, as she always does. "My father passed from penile cancer when I was still a freshman in High School and that haunted and stuck with me to this day, which is why I take it very seriously." It was the same story as ever, the one she had always told to everyone she met, even to those that didn't want to hear it, she said it anyways. To this day, no one knows or has ever confirmed whether the story was true or not, but who's to say she was lying? Why would someone lie about their father dying from penile cancer? This should be the noblest of causes to go into urology is it not?

Haruka says before reaching into her pocket and pulling out another business card and handing it to Katrielle and the girls. It was the same business card from before, well almost the same. It only had her email on it and the number was absent.

Becky nodded and smiled eagerly at the mention of a Cara in the desert.

The MMA? Becky wracked her brain. MMA? Was that the publishing house in New England? She just decided to nod and smile. But the rest of it she understand. "You're a stuntwoman?" She blinked, obviously super impressed. She put her hands up in mocking submission, "You'll let me know first if you're mad at me, right?" She laughed playfully, then the laughter died just a little as Becky waited for an answer seemingly seriously, then burst out laughing again. She couldn't help it. She was off to Caravanserai! Everything made her happy!

Visions of leading this gorgeous and ripped woman about had Becky a bit tongue tied, as she tried to make a light hearted comment about it but stopped herself before she could put her foot in her mouth. Thankfully she was saved by the conversation continuing to questions of activities.

"Oh all the time." She said eagerly. "There were camel rides, astronomy nights, dance parties at the bar, we went and explored some ruins once," She ticked things off on her fingers. "And of course the restaurant and bars. Mmmmm." She closed her eyes, savoring the memories. "It was per-fect!"

She shrugged at the question of whether it was one bar or many. "Figure there's a bunch of them." She said sipping her pink lemonade. What would it matter, it wasn't like finding drinks would be heard no matter what the situation was. Damn, all this talk of bars was making her want to start drinking some thing alcoholic.

Whatever she was about to say next, perhaps a subtle attempt at figuring out what this MMA thing they both seemed to know of, was cut off as Nona called her lady luscious. Becky couldn't help but beam. She stood up a little straighter, not that she was slouching mind you, and brushed a shoulder off and made a show of tossing her hair back. "Lady luscious, huh?" She repeated with a very proud smile, mocking her own vanity. "Oh I like you." She put a hand over Nona's and squeezed.

She was rather comfortable being pretty close to both these ladies now, not that she'd been uncomfortable before, but now she felt like this was definitely a trio that could meet up later and have some fun together!

Elizabeth's comments about Apollo earned an amused laugh from Reese, especially about him being single. She wasn't the least bit surprised by his lack of attachment. No doubt he was playing the field and enjoying the bachelor lifestyle. Nothing wrong with that as marriage was overrated as far as she was concerned. Her view of it had been eroded by her ex-husband, who threw everything they built away for a single night of pleasure.

Her acquaintance received no further questions from her about him as Reese wasn't interested in learning more about the man through a secondary source, at least for romantic pursuits. The last time someone set her up on a blind date, she ended up paying the bill after her date exploded at an overwhelmed waitress for getting his order wrong.

The person who set her up with him called him a nice guy.

"I believe in quality over quantity when it comes to friends," Reese said with a shrug. Elizabeth's selectiveness when it came to her inner circle didn't strike her as strange. If anything, it was wise. "And it sounds like you have one worth a dozen."

Reese took a hot minute to get over her fascination after Katrielle joined their conversation; becoming less blinded by being in the presence of a literal star allowed her to appreciate the conversation occurring around her.

It was so weird yet wonderful to witness a person you admired from a distance be, well, normal.

She stopped being a quiet observer of the ongoing conversation when Elizabeth revealed the painful reason behind her disdain for the nickname Liz. Reese offered her a sympathetic look as it sounded like she had a rough go of it during her school years.

"Thank God for those years being behind us." But, of course, being an adult didn't exempt them from uncomfortable run-ins with idiots, but it happened less often in Reese's experience. She then added her struggles with her name to hopefully make Elizabeth feel less alone in her painful reminiscence. "My name earned some bullshit too, especially the 'There's no wrong way to eat a Reese's' one from the candy commercial."

Pictures were taken, and Reese silently cheered at the fact that she'd gotten such an unexpected memento from one of her favorite singers. When Haruka returned the phone to Kat, she scooted a little closer to the singer and peered down at the screen. The photo looked perfect. Hell, even if something were wrong with it, she wouldn't have said anything as she was just grateful for the picture at all.

"Pleasure to meet you, Haruka. I'm Reese." Rather than introduce the other ladies present, she allowed them to do so themselves.

Then, with a single statement, it became abundantly clear that Elizabeth was clueless about Katrielle's musical prowess. Reese exercised restraint not to whip out her phone and play a Youtube video to enlighten the other woman's ears. Elizabeth then inquired about the guitar case, and Reese could've kissed her in thanks as it resulted in Kat sharing some background on how it came to be so intricately designed.

She opened her mouth to comment, but Haruka beat her to the chase as she shared more about how she'd entered the urologist field. Reese found it more challenging to think of a positive spin for her father dying of cancer like how she'd done with Elizabeth's name comment.

That's good for you? Ugh, no. That didn't sound very good.

So Reese chose to say nothing in the end, directing her gaze towards the waves as if she spotted something within their depths.

When Haruka shared her business cards with them, as Elizabeth had done earlier, she remembered the need to share her phone number with Katrielle. Otherwise, she'd never received her picture! So she waited for another pause in their conversation before she rattled off her phone number to the singer.

"Oooh!" She exclaimed and turned more fully to stare out at the stretching waters. A hand lifted to shield her eyes. "Is that land I see?"

Elizabeth Ecsed

Name: Elizabeth Staunton

Wearing: Jeans, long sleeve button up as pictured, leather case for a decently large camera with an attached section for a sketch pad and pencils. Using her 5'5 walking staff of a silvery wood. Tennis shoes.

Harukas offer to use the bigger camera, though clearly well intended, was met with the kind of polite smile given by mothers to strangers who suggested juggling children or letting them swim with sharks or play with fire. Nobody was playing with her expensive fancy baby but her, absolutely especially not on a moving boat. But the redhead was definitely caught off guard by the woman's declaration of her job, visibly startled and uncertain. "Uh, isn't that a pee doctor of some sort?" She blurted, then had the grace to look decently embarrassed, hands shifting on her walking staff. The story caused a little blush for whatever Elizabeth reasons, her attention more focused over the woman's shoulder and actually looking at her. She didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about taking the card, but gingerly gripped it between two fingers as an attempt to internally apologize for any gaffes made so far.

Reese's comments about friend quantity being the most relevant thing earned the blond an approving nod. "He is,he is." There was a brief pause as the other woman's revelation about her nickname problems sank in.. a small smile tugging at Elizabeth's lips.. "Okay so I'm unable to resist. What's your preferred way of eating a Reese's, or is that too much like cannibalism or frustrating due to the memories?" Perhaps not the most sensitive of potential questions, but Elizabeth's mouth did tend to run away with her brain occasionally.

But most of her attention was focused on Katrielle, who seemed to share the highest level of the right kind of interest. The artist had goals for her trip, and it seemed less likely that Reese and or Haruka we're in the running. Not that she would hide from them or avoid conversations if it came up, but three extra people were pushing the limits of the introvert's social skills, making a natural channel for Elizabeth's communication. "Mmm, yeah. And Savannah itself has a lot of small town attitudes as well. "

The compliment to her card got a smile that was 70% shy, 20% pleased, and only 10% embarrassed as she rubbed at an ear. "Thank you. I feel a little awkward about having my face on my card, but my manager insisted. Seems to work out so far.."

The lovely brunettes declaration of her job got a small giggle from Elizabeth... For some reason the redhead thought it was humor, despite the fact that the other Caravanserai had contained several musicians. Truly she wasn't thinking super straight that day. But her eyes widened slightly as the musician continued, it sinking in a little that she might not have been exaggerating, and actually was literally a rockstar. "That's cool." She agreed, despite still having absolutely no clue who the woman was or what she did.

Tucking the staff momentarily into her armpit, Elizabeth held up both hands, laughing softly. "Woah, ok, you out past my knowledge after the word red. I guess what I was trying to ask this if you played electric or... Uh, wood? You can see the limits of my musical knowledge.." Her smile was amused at herself, not minding that she had no clue about the discussion she started. The look Katrielle gave to the case caused Elizabeth to reach up a hand to lightly curl a strand of her red hair around a finger, suddenly warmed by the other woman's look of affection, what it seemed to reveal about her personality. "I can tell she did a really good job, and put a lot of work into it. What's her name, there's a chance I might know her. The art community isn't super huge. What does the person under the tree represent to you?" Elizabeth paused, wrinkling her nose at herself. "Ahh, sorry if I'm being nosey. I'm just curious about everything."

Shading her eyes, there was a nod of agreement. "Looks like land indeed. Seems like it's almost time to venture on to our home away from home for a while."

"Well, rising rockstar, but that doesn't sound as good." Kat said when Haruka commented about her being a rockstar. For Kat, being a genuine rockstar came with fame and recognition, and she certainly wasn't a household name just yet. "We're not headlining stadiums just yet. But if you listen to rock you might recognize my band more than me. I'm the lead vocalist of Wicked Rhythm." She said, offering both a potential second means of recognizing her, but also a way out where Haruka and or Elizabeth didn't need to feel like they should.

The trip was proving to be a more educational experience than Katrielle might have expected. She had learned a few intimate details from her new acquaintances. To Kat, it revealed a fairly strong strength of character able to comment on negative experiences casually. In their place, Kat wasn't sure she'd have been so candid. Though it was probably a distinction of the memory, the past could arguably have either been buried for Elizabeth or been a source of power for Haruka. Kat's? Well, her present was far more empowering than the reason she had gone on her hiatus.

Elizabeth made the mistake that Kat had managed to bite her tongue before blurting out herself. Elizabeth landed closer and actually might have been basically right on the money. Though, now she didn't need to google it. Yet, when Haruka went into further detail about why she took on the profession, it did create a kind of awkward shift. What do you say to that without being an asshole?

"I see" Kat said with a pause, quickly glancing to the other two women offering just a brief opportunity to say something that broke the uncomfortable pause but it seemed Kat wasn't the only one taken back.

"Well, I think it's admirable to turn a source of pain into something positive." Kat said, removing any source of uncertainty or discomfort in her voice. It still felt to the rockstar that she had made a wild assumption, and if Haruka disagreed with her, it'd be Kat with the egg on her face, but Kat had let her compulsion to not leave it quiet get the better of her.

She took the business card from Haruka with a smile and slipped it into her jacket. "Thanks, lots of people in my profession like to party, so I'll keep you in mind when it catches up to them.."

She could have kissed Elizabeth for changing the topic away from Haruka's father. Kat fell silent, nor adding onto it. She turned her attention to Reese for the answer. She would have never made the connection herself, but now she was curious if Elizabeth was the first to ask Reese that question.

"It's a electric guitar." Kat answered, to let Elizabeth have some idea. "Don't stress the finer details; most just know it's a guitar.," she said, keeping her kind and patient

As the conversation switched to the art on her guitar case cover, the natural questions came up. Who was the artist? the artwork have meaning to Katrielle? The truth was the art had real deep meaning to young singer. Perhaps Reese who was clearly the one in the group that was a fan and may have followed her career knew she suddenly went on a hiatus just as the band had started to get hot five years earlier. The official statement was that Kat had burned out, which was technically true but it was also true the whole situation was a great deal more complicated.

"The artist is a exquisitepainter named Trelisa Perrualt." Kat said, with a fond smile. "She's french born but has lived in Seattle Washington for ooh...Must be about fifteen years now, she kept the accent though." she explained giving a few more details that might ring a bell. Trelisa's works were popular she had her own gala in the city so it was easily possible if Elizabeth followed the art world she might know of Trelisa.

She feel silent for a moment, Kat knew exactly what it represented but was deciding how much she wanted to express. "I see it depicting a girl's heart trapped in winter. Where once the tree she rests against was once vibrant and filled with lush green and singing birds. It is now withered and ugly. The birds flying up above her represent her desire to break free and escape the winter. But she has no wings in which to fly and so she sits under the once lush tree praying for spring to come again." Katrielle explained her view of the painting on her guitar case.

For a moment, Kat's eyes gained a far away look as if she was seeing something long past. Though the moment passed quickly and she turned her eyes back to Elizabeth. "Happily winter passes." She said with a fast smile. Her tale hinted at something deeper, but what or why she saw that reflected was her secret to keep. At least for now, who knew maybe Elizabeth could get the story out of her.

The conversation switched paces again as Reese spotted land in the distance and Kat turned with the others to glance out towards it. It was a distance away for certain but it was there. Kat imagined what it must have been like for sailors on boats for weeks, lost as sea to finally see the same thing Kat saw now. For herself, Kat would secretly be relieved to be back on land. Not having to move around had helped, but she had not sprouted sea legs, it seemed.

"Home away from home?" Kat asked. "So does that mean you've been here before?" Kat asked Elizabeth though her eyes turned to the other two women as well. It was Kat's first stay, but if it wasn't the others, maybe they knew some good spots to look out for? It was never a bad idea to lean on veteran experience even if the experience was just how to vacation properly.
