What is Destiny?

What is Destiny?
Mine us so Foggy
Unclear
Darkening my soul
Like a midnight tear

They say every one as one
but am I that Unique?
I feel like I don't belong here
In this world that I wander
A loner
A Chronicler
Listening to tales of stories old
Yet I can't seem to make my own

I hide behind a golden mask
but are the others that blind
to see that it is not the true me
That I'm truly hiding inside
But you were some how different
You saw right threw me
You saw behind my golden mask
And knew I was different
always different
but you did not run from me

You stood by me
A friend so true
You took my sacrifice
Although it was my duty to take
You said it was not
That I was the one that was blind
My destiny was all clear
I shed a single tear
A midnight tear
As I cried by your side

As I watched you settle there
And your life slips away
I can not say good bye
I feel something awake
A pure and enduring light
Yet my soul is tore to win the fight
You let me out
You set me free
And yet I must walk alone

My duty is clear
A unity is made
I'll just walk away
I'll just keep on walking
Down my foggy road
I guess that's just life
My destiny still unknown.

The Lone Wolf

Alone for life,
As the long days go by,
The beauty of the long wolf
Is always in site.
In the light,

Of the great, silver, full moon,
You hear the cry,
Of the lone wolf.

Alone for life,
As the nights go by,
The beauty of the lone wolf,
Is always in site.

Alone at night,
You see the truth,
She runs and hunts alone.
Her sorrow and fillings,
Unknown by all,

As she cries to the full dawn moon,
And the to the mighty spheres.
She alone can hear,
On the cliff out over the blue, green seas,

The morning wind blows.
The midnight waves crash
On the snow-white shore below.
And she alone can hear
The song of the earth.

The lone wolf
Is a mysterious as the
Twilight itself.

But as I said,
It is so clear,
That her pack is always near.

She is not alone,
After all.

I dedicate this poem to my grandmother who was the one that got me into writing.
Thanks for given me a life, I'll never forget u.

A Woman's Spirit

I punch
I kick
I cry
I scream

But nothing I do can justify what you did to me.

My hands
My feet
See how they bleed,
Blessing the ground like rain.
But I know they will heal.

But what you did to me
The sword you swore to me
Now sheathe it's self with in my breast
As I hit my knees and wait for death
I wish to draw my last breath

The sword made of trust and love
To guard our souls as they were one
Now used to slay this one.

I refuse
I refuse to die by the words of a man,
I will get up
And move on
Although this wound will not heal
It will not cripple me
I will move on

Even though I might
now
Travel alone
I will never be slane by the words of a man.
Never
This one
Will bow her head
Never
Not this one
Not even in death.

The Virus

The virus hit us like a black wind.
We did not know the plague had come.
We had no warning
The Fog it gave off was red as blood.
It moved over the land like a storm.
With rain like oil.
And Ice like needles
Now "it" has come
and it is out for blood
our blood
It's fiends hunt us
There is no where in our old cities to run.
No were to hide.
Our only hope is to find the village they promised us.
But we have to play by their rules to find it.
How dare they play with our live like that?
We will bet the odds
We will find our new home
We will live on
We are the children of the new age.

Never Again

Drifter
Wanderer
Loner

I never call one place my home,
I will travel my world on my own.
No one by my side,
No one to watch my back.
But I all ways fill a root I lack.

What is this that calls me back.
A song
A lullaby
A hymn
a melody
Sing out a legend unseen.

I look back,
Must not turn back.
To do so admit defeat,
Not to a man
I will not run to his arms again.

I'm a Warrior
A solider
I do not need the arms of him,
To say he is my equal.

This crest engraved upon my back
Tells me we're not the same
He'll never

Then again.

Not Here

Just because your not near,
Does not mean your not here,
For every minute of every hour,
Every hour of every day,
Every day of every year.
In my heart your always near.

Kendra

Hello OE,

Thank you so much for posting up your poetry for us all to read, it is always a daunting thing to do. Poetry after all in my opinion is very personal and such a deep part of the writer. I always feel as if I am opening myself up for ridicule every time I post one of my own up and it took me a long time to find the courage to do so. So I commend you heartily for taking the brave step.

I have enjoyed them.
They are poignant, sad and heartfelt. They give a sense of empowerment and hope.
I really liked the one you dedicated to your grandmother.

I apologise that I don't go in depth with how each verse moved me or dissect how certain lines are written.
It used to annoy me greatly doing so while at school because I always just loved reading poetry as I read a novel.
I like what I see and I say as such and nothing more, sorry my comments are not more constructive for you.  :-\

I do look forward to reading more though

*hugs*
