Hmm, Demons cannot create 'Material Body' in the Materium that lasts outside a crafted summoning circle, but if he has a 'host' to possess, someone who's soul has been drained to pretty much zero even while he's still alive, yeah the character might have some magic established to jump to that host, but the death of the host means being kicked back in the Hell. Pretty much like being in a bad car crash without a seatbelt, you go flying through the windshield.

As for the difference, Mortals can summon a demon if they come across the know-how, but probably end up losing their soul fast, or back away.

Summoner is no longer -that- afraid as far as I see it, they're the ones that are getting greedy, take risks, might even lure others to summoning fiends.. and possibly betray them for power.

For example, Lady Death's father betrayed her, in her character description. Perhaps he handed her over for some temporal power in mortal world, but it worked out for Lady Death. For a while.

Looked fine to me Vergil, I had my original doubts, and would prefer not having centuries old Demons but it seems that people would rather play older demons so nog toing to push it to be an absolute rule.

Just hoping that there wont be someone trying to boss around all the other demons, unless they 'earn it' somehow in RP to elevate themselves to that state.

Demons are assumed old as the Earth itself in most circles, so what we consider old and what you might consider old are most likely two different things here.  It's not a bad thing by any means, just old for a demon as I see it is anything past 2000 years or something lol.

Anyway, I don't see it being a problem myself, but I can understand you're hesitation.  I'm looking forward to this myself lol.

Blargh. Sorry, I really apologize. Went through the effort of making a char and everything, but I'm going to have to pass. Again...very sorry!

This looks like fun.  I've got two ideas I might pursue (perhaps both with the same character).  The first would be a female summoner that asks for the power to suggest things to other women, and force them to follow (or at least want to follow) her suggestions.  She'd use her newfound power to effectively kidnap girls and having her way with them.  Of course, such a power isn't cheap, and every time she suggests something she gives up a little more of her soul to the demon (with more powerful suggestions costing more of her soul).  For this, I'm fine with whoever playing her victims, either myself or the GM playing them as NPCs, or doing this to another player.

The other idea I have is another female summoner (could be the same one as above, could be someone else) that wants to become a demon.  Of course, doing so would require much more than just her own soul, so she's doing what she can to capture and sacrifice innocent souls to her demonic patron.

Let me know what you think.

Could be interesting concept to see in use, going to be starting this game sometime today, hope to see your creation(s) sometime soon.

Curious to behold what will become with things in motion then.

Would that be a yes, my character could be a human that becomes a demon?

If so I'd be glad to corrupt your person until you do lol.  You better be willing to pay three souls in advance though.   >:)

Mortal Becoming a Demon... I can see it happening if the mortal already truly showed themselves to be revelling in a particular kind of 'Sin'. It would probably mean 'pushing the envelope' pretty far and paying a hefty price in souls.

I kind of see it as 'Regular Demons' able to make someone into 'Lesser Demon' and 'Demon Nobles' able to make someone 'Regular Demon', whether its a lesser demon promotion in power (which might also occur naturally in Hell).

But I think if he paid some 6 souls (as a suggestion, and might mean playing a couple of humans as NPCs briefly for this purpose. I dislike the notion since it leads to no real 'souls played in Hell' though) then the Demon might turn the mortal into a lesser Demon with those souls power, and after that it would be seeking the Demon Prince out to be granted power to become a true Demon. Perhaps RPing out the mortal's eagerness amusing the Prince enough to grant him that, but also 'indebting' the mortal to the prince, meaning he'd have to steal some more Souls for the Prince. Could be handled on the side as NPC souls, but would mean the character would be 'run ragged' for a while.

Given the sheer amount of souls drained to make a lesser demon even, though, I'd hope to rule that most of those were 'burned out' entirely by the demon-making, draining them fully in order for it to be able to work, possibly leaving the Demon that made him a lesser demon with 1-2 souls on the wall, so as to not let 1 Demon suddenly jump in power over all others. Likewise, might have the Demon Prince's undivided attention after that, and the bad thing about that is having the Demon Prince's undivided attention..

Just thoughts, don't want to make it impossible and I feel I am constricting a lot, too much probably, trying to keep the game as I see it but I hope you read the written part and think of the intent rather than the exact detail. Its supposed to be hard, not impossible, meaning there'd be curious RP in it which is not a bad thing at all.

Though I need to ask if I'm being a bit too annoying with the attempts to keep the Demons from claiming a lot of souls with very little work when the concept is that there's actually a 'shortage of damned souls' to the point that Demons have waged war elsewhere just to grasp -1- ? Then again, other denizens of Hell don't much dare to go tempt mortals themselves, given the threat of 'Angels'.

I'd say that it makes sense, and I think you've kind of solved your own problems there.  If the souls are completely drained and useless after the transformation, then there's no need to worry about too many souls showing up (they're already gone), as well as the problem of "souls played in Hell".  The NPCs to be sacrificed would be very minor characters.

It's more of a long term thing (for me as the player, not the character); at the start my PC would only be interested in capturing people for her own amusement and letting them go after she's had her fun.  Only later would she be tempted enough to try to become a demoness.

Vergil1989

We need several people to play both demons and humans for this little RP run by a new member to E.  Let us all do our part to give this fellow the royal welcome.

I am grateful for the assistance and I hope to see people enjoy themselves playing both the Demons and Mortals. The idea of a little evil in all of us, and ability to do something dark comes up time to time. In this game, both Demons and Mortals are in a rare circumstance. There is real power to be had, and the smart or desperate may rise up higher and higher.

Is it the demon that gains the soul essence from the one that calls upon it, or is it the mortal that acquires a wish that might otherwise well lay beyond their means, that benefits more? Its both symbiotic, and parasitic at the same time. Both sides gain benefits, but neither is doing out of the kindness of their hearts, in fact, both of them are no doubt seeking to gain more in exchange for less.

In a world where Angels fear to roam, in a land where a sorcerous word can bring forth riches and revenge, pleasure and pain, what mortal is moral enough to stand up forever? If offered an easy way out, a temptation to use power beyond your own means, would you not seek it? Surely you are smarter, know where your limits lay, and make use of the dark force while keeping away from letting it corrupt you entirely, keeping away from the utter damnation, even if by a hair's width only ?

Or perhaps you willingly take the last step, call upon the dark gods, and bring forth something that should not be, damn all else but yourself and your wish, when you know how to command power that others could only dream about, do you really want to waste a thought on those who have to fall for your ambition?

Likewise, while the demons of the New Hell have a twisted kingdom of their own, waiting for the arrival of new souls calling upon them for the summons, the wishes, they are unlikely to spend all their time in just hiding, waiting. If anything, they are likely scheming, or taking amusement in bringing a mortal down. Whether pushing an already corrupt over the last line or leashing the soul of a virtuous person with a contract, the power of the one that controls the souls grows.

Within the darkness sits a Demon Prince, a demon nobility keeping this section of Hell sealed away from the 'old guard', the 'big boys' that would trample on the younger demons and take the souls they want. In this section of Hell, now protected by a Demon Prince, the young demons have an unique opportunity. They may raise their power and perhaps become the Lords of Hell in time.

Its truely better to Rule in Hell than to Serve in Heaven, or so say the fallen.. and its even better when a damned soul is the one doing the work... but in their life, they may have been the model of a century, the millionaire lottery winner, the infamous thug with the luck of a damned god, or so much more.

Heheheh. I apologise, I get a bit tempted to write a little strange things at times, but I hope it gets a person intrigued enough to check the rest of things posted up, and to check our threads.

Hiya there, Winter!

I'm thinking I'll be joining this game after all.  We already discussed my possible character concept, and I think I'll be going with that.  A mortal sorcerer who's quite experienced demonologist and a general go-to guy and broker for other folks interested in demon summonings.  I'll post up a character soon in that thread.

Good to have you along, LF.

Looking forward to seeing your summoner when ready, as we discussed he's most likely going to want to work with others, mortals that might be far less experienced.

Also, I suggest you give a word to Vergil at some point, considering the discussion we had about possibly knowing a few demon's personal rites.

Still looking forward to seeing more people too.

Hey everyone! I had read through this thread once before, and thought about joining in but it seemed a tad demon heavy, so I had passed over it. I have an idea floating around in my head for a demoness of pride. I'm at work now posting from my phone, but if you'll have me I can swing back by and drop off a more detailed profile later. :)

Vergil1989

Well, I don't know about Wintercat, but I'd be happy to have you aboard, and I'm sure he will too.  From my understanding, you could do both a demon and a human since we need both quite desperately at the moment lol.  Anyway, be happy to have you regardless Kineas.

We are always looking for a few good (wo)men (and a more than a few bad ones as well). The game is starting up, and waiting to see what might come up in a dark fantasy, with the people calling for demons for their wishes, and demons answering the call for the power that comes with the possession of mortal souls.

Located at Non-Con-Exotic-Freeform, the game is intended for exploring out a bit of the dark sides of both humans and demons, having a bit of fun together and playing around with fiction.
