The Avengers [Added a few more canon characters & OC spots still open!]

This would be based off of the Avengers movie and not from the comics since I haven't read those. Essentially I'm thinking of bringing together the Avengers for another world disaster-like scenario, kind of like what Avengers 2 will probably be about. It would revolve around a new danger that threatens the safety of the world and S.H.I.E.L.D. has to bring back the Avengers to help protect it like they did the last time. But unlike last time when it was Loki who was the cause, this time it has nothing to do with Loki and they actually need his help for this upcoming battle. This group rp will deal more with action, adventure, plot and story but will have some sex involved. But sex will not be the main focus, it will just be a 'side-effect' and there will be m/m and m/f depending on who plays who. I'm open for ideas about what you might want to do for the villain etc... and right now this will be an interest check to see what we can all come up with and who would like to play who. I'll set up the thread later on once we get everyone a character and we have a general outline of a story.

You can choose 1 canon character and 1 OC character to play, unless you have permission from me to add more and you would need to pm me to discuss that since I don't want one person playing multiple canon characters.

Okay, so we need a THOR and a HULK before we can get started. Nick Fury and Selvig aren't too important so we can get started without them if no one wants to take the roles. Note: I am not familiar with the comics for Avengers, I've only seen the Marvel movies, so please let me know who these villain characters are if you're interested in including them in the game! ^^

I did look up 'Thantos' and it appears his name is spelled THANOS and I don't mind having him be the new villain in the game, if you guys want him to be! The only question is, who will play him then? If he's an already established character, do we want someone to play him? If so, should we have some OCs with him as well on the evil side? Let me know your thoughts here. What do you guys think about Thanos, Skrull or HYDRA uprising thoughts? Any particular interest in any of those in particular or can be combine them perhaps? Let me know what is going through your minds!

Once we decide on a basic plot of how things are going to go, I'll set up the OOC thread and the IC thread. I'm going to include a few separate threads when we start, such as S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, the Outside World, Realms, Asgard and Rooms. S.H.I.E.L.D. will basically have all posts that take place within that organization, the Outside World will encompass all posts that take place on earth, Realms will have the posts that don't take place on earth for example Jotunheim etc..., Asgard will have the posts that take place on Asgard and Rooms will have the posts where private things happen such as sex. This way we can keep the threads neat and uncluttered. Do we want a posting order too or just go spontaneously?

Jadaria usually only responds to Jade, but occasionally will accept nicknames given to her by others. She is a tall individual with long, straight black hair and electric blue eyes. Even for a warrior, she is very analytical of situations and enjoys observing as much as she does fighting. Her fighting style is often described as elegant, a mix between fighting and acrobatic dancing. While she is skilled in the art of weilding weapons such as spears and scythes, she prefers a set of long blades that run the lenght of her forearm. This is because of her love of hand to hand combat. Nothing thrills her more than to get up close to an enemy and watch the look in their eyes as they watch her coming but can't stop her. This love of hers usually gets her into to trouble, for nobody is perfect and she is young. Jade has a habit of underestimating her opponents when she doesn't stop and observe first.

((I haven't really thought of a reason why she would have gone to Earth from Asgard... Any ideas?  And I'm sorry it's not a real skeleton, I'm just trying to get my thoughts down.))

I changed a few things in the main post but nothing too major, so you don't have to change anything if you don't want to. I just added a few things and made it all simpler. Miss Marvel has helped the Avengers out on a few occasions, though she was never an "official" member of the team. :)

And I still vote Thanos(good catch on that, I can be bad with spelling names), especially since he basically tries to destroy the whole universe, not just earth, which in turn can pull more that the main avengers into the story, and that means the whole Avengers rp can grow as needed. Just saying. :D

I actually had an idea for a multi-stage hierarchy that the Avengers could deal with. Let me know if you guys like it.

Basically, Thanos will be running the show from behind the scenes like he was in the first movie, but towards the climax of the story, makes his reveal. The main enemies in the story would be the Skrull and Taskmaster. I think Taskmaster would be the perfect follow-up to Loki since he is essentially a mercenary to whoever hires him, and has all the skills of the core members of the Marvel Universe. A great villain to force out the Avengers' A game, not to mention a reason for them to include more members. Then with the inclusion of the Skrull, we could cause some paranoia in the team, and give them a greater conflict beyond just Taskmaster. A foe that can take on any form they so choose and in the case of Super Skrull, have the powers to back up those forms? A true challenge for the team.

And then Thanos to just add icing to the proverbial cake. The ultimate foe for the "ultimate" team. And yes, I had to make that joke. The idea is Thanos hired Taskmaster to turn The Avengers' attention away from the real enemy. And since Thanos is pretty much the ultimate egotistical villain, he'd gloat about how he tricked them when he finally does reveal himself.

That's just my thoughts. Let me know what you all think.

We could always keep the chitauri, as they are the ultimate universe version of the skrulls and some of the ones that "collapsed" at the end of the movie could have shapeshifted to stay alive and already be in prime spots, sort of a "secret invasion" already there but don't reveal them until after Taskmaster or some such.

Will SHIELD only be for the United States and there heroes? I mitt actually be better at government officials than heroes,  though a fee of them have certainnmutations meant for a last resort. Such as the Latverians getting uppity again.

I've been trying to think of that, but for some reason I am drawing a blank... Maybe she is apart of some personal gaurd for the royal family? Specifically for Thor, maybe? Assigned to protect him by his father after that last attack from Loki... If anyone has a cooler idea I'm all ears. Lols. :P

Yes, I was thinking SHIELD is only for the US and their heroes since that's the way it was in the movies. Sure you can play a government official if you want or one of the villains, just let me know what you want to do! But we do need someone to play the Hulk so hopefully you can keep him. *laughs*

Taskmaster is a mercenary with Photographic Muscle Memory that gives him the ability to perfectly mimic anyone's abilities that he sees, such as the perfect aim of Hawkeye or the shield skills of Cap.

A recent find, and I wanna post it to the group to get opinions, but which armor should I have Tony use? The Mark VI from Iron Man 2-most of Avengers, the Mark VII from the end of The Avengers, or the unknown armor from Iron Man 3.

The Mark VI is the one with the triangle, right? I'm a little rusty with the names of his armors... If that's the one I'm talking about then Mark VI has my vote... I prefer the triangle and it has more red than the picture you posted of the Iron Man 3... Too much gold if you ask me. :P

Not enough red in the IM3 armor.  Honestly I love the hell out of the original suit, but the Mk IV gets my vote out of all the listed ones.  Mostly because I dont remember enough of the Mk VII.

Mark VI is the triangle chestpiece, yes. And the Mark VII is like the previous armors, but it can form around him on the go without the need of a production line like set up. The main difference between the Mark VI and the Mark VII is the upgrades in flight and maneuverability, offensive and defensive systems, and the ability to suit up on the go.

The new suit is really gold, I agree, but it's kinda growing on me. I kinda like how it's a bit of a throwback to the original gold armor while still being new. Also, I really like the new faceplate design with the larger ovular eyes.

A lot of people are speculating that the IM3 armor could be either Extremis or Bleeding Edge armor in which case, both are infinitely better than the Mark VII armor in every single way.
However, if you're not comfortable with the Extremis or Bleeding Edge stories and armor designs, I would go with the Mark VII because it's still a pretty damn good suit.

I'm assuming it's the Extremis due to the fact that Iron Man 3's plot is effectively the Extremis storyline. So yeah, Extremis armor makes sense.

I may be able to help. Depends if you are wanting OCs or someone from the various canons. If OCs I can offer a variety of antagonists who may or may not see themselves as villains.

I say yes to The Wasp, but that's just me. Also, can I play triple duty as Henery "Hank" Pym? I freaking love Ant Man! Not the ultimate version though. He's a huge dick. Normal version is cool though.

My idea of Ant-Man is a combination of his Ant-Man and Goliath personas, using both shrinking and growing in unison. It makes him a bit more versatile and more of an asset to the team. Also, no wife-beating. That's just wrong.

Pretty much. They took the one time that I remember the main universe Hank hitting his wife and turned it into a rather regular occurrence, ending their marriage and banning him from the team. Black Widow was a total bitch and leaked a video of her husband and herself getting it on (her husband at the time was Tony Stark) and murdered Hawkeye's family. Tony is just a dick in general, and Cap goaded Hulk into killing his nemesis by eating the poor bastard.

The Ultimates are a group of dicks. Simple as that. However, they gave us Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, so it's not all bad. >.>

They destroyed the long history of a man who accepted all races within his WWII team merely so they could have a black person target than bringing back his black teammate or creating a new one.  I'd prefer if Mr. Jackson played the head of some rival group.

One thing to keep in mind, the stuff that went on in the comics isn't what is going to go on here. This game is based off of the characters/personalities of the Avengers portrayed in the MOVIES and the focus will be on the Avengers that the MOVIES showed. However, I don't mind a few characters that used to be Avengers from the comics as long as they are not the main focus. I want to see more revolving around the ones that we've seen from the movies: Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Loki, Phil Coulson, Erik Selvig, Nick Fury, Jane Foster, Odin Allfather, Heimdall, Darcy Lewis, Pepper Potts etc... so I would prefer if we stuck with them.

But I don't mind a lot of people playing OCs because we do need them as well, especially ordinary people and original villains that work under the main villains who I think will be Thanos, Skrull, Taskmaster etc... so we need people to play ordinary people OCs and villain OCs.

@AribethAmkiir - I don't know who the Wasp is and am not familiar with her since she wasn't in any of the movies and since this is a movie-based game I kind of don't really want canon characters that I'm not familiar with in the game. But if you want to play a canon character, do any of the roles still open on the front page interest you? Or would you be interested in playing an OC ordinary person or an OC villain? If not, then I suppose you can play Wasp but you'd have to figure out how Wasp interacts with the Avengers because I'd rather they not really know about her in this game...or possibly have heard of her but haven't met her..

@Occident - That would be great if you want to play an OC that's a villain or an ordinary person, we need both!

I know he's not on the list... but I'd be interested in playing Deadpool as a mild-villain/antagonist. He tends to pop up all over the Marvel universe, so it would be easy to fit him in.

Since he's a mercenary perhaps he could be the primary villain, and after he gets defeated/captured the avengers find out who was paying him to hunt them down? Since it seems like everyone is waiting for villains to show up.

I guess he'd be a temporary villain that leads up to the actual main villain. I don't know, just a thought.

Well I think it's been decided that Skrull and Taskmaster are the main villains at the moment with Thanos working behind the scenes throughout it all. But I do like your idea about Deadpool being the primary villain at the moment and then have the Avengers find out who was paying him to hunt them down. I see it as Deadpool being hired by Skrull or Taskmaster so that works out. I think 1SAZ is temporarily playing Taskmaster or Skrull until we find someone to play them. ^^

Sweet! Ive been itching to play wade wilson/deadpool. The x-men origins wolverine movie got wade wilson perfect but totally flopped with deadpool by merging all the weapon x mutants. The only thing deadpool has for powers is wolverines crazy regeneration.
