An Anita Blake Universe Group Game

We are looking for were-creatures for our Anita Blake Universe group game.  There will be some links in one of the next two posts for the people to get acquainted with not only the game, but the Anita Blake Universe. As for characters we need, there are three varieties currently:  Werewolves, weretigers, and werehyenas.  You can be either male or female, we're not going to be picky.  What we do ask is for literacy and a bit of experience in roleplay as a whole.  Below is the plot so far.  If you have questions feel free, or click on the links for the different threads and take a good read.

The Story so far...

Varian Mengsk has been given the massive responsibility of the pack after killing the previous Ulfric in a vengeful rage. The pack is scattered and broken, a pathetic shadow of what it used to be before the previous Ulfric sold out to the previous master of the city. Just when it seems the pack is unifying and healing old wounds, Varian goes missing after being ambushed by the tiger streak.

The Tigers of Las Vegas are the largest and strongest streak on the east side of the world. Despite their power, there is turbulence when the master less tigers are summoned by a new master who has freshly arrived in Las Vegas and seeking to make them his creatures to call. The proud tigers find themselves with a decision, join the ranks of the new Master  vampire, Dartimus, who seeks to take control of Vegas or possibly make an enemy of them.

Amelia was a master vampire under the former Master of the city who had set in motion the eventual usurping of the previous Master. When he came up missing, leaving a master less city, she was naturally the next to come into command until a new master was sent to Vegas by the council himself. She now has to decided to fall in line with him or continue her plans to take over the city for herself once and for all.

From the shadows a new faction is on the rise, the rare werehyenas. Their intentions are unknown but it only adds another factor of the supernatural politics going on under the mortal noses in the city of sin.

General Information About All Lycanthrope's

    * Though they have the ability to shift to their animal form whenever they wish, the moon's call makes/forces the Infected variety of lycanthrope's to shift . Inherited form are  not forced to shift when the moon is full.
    * If the lycanthrope is new or young, or it is too close to the full moon, the scent of fresh blood can cause them to shift to their animal form.
    * After shifting, they are hungry and must eat.
    * Humans are infected by coming into blood contact with other lycanthropes in animal form, by getting a bad vaccine or are born with it (inherited form). They might also be cursed with it.
    * Silver burns them, and injuries made with silver and fire heal very slowly. Silver bullets can kill them.
    * Injuries made by other more dominant were's also heal slowly.
    * They cannot get infections, though severe blood loss can be an issue. All wounds will eventually heal.
    * They will stop balding after being turned, but will not regrow lost hair.
    * They have great healing abilities, amazing speed and strength as well as heightened senses.
    * If they lose a limb, it will grow back with the next animal shift as long as the wound remains fresh.
    * Alphas are the leaders of the respective groups. They are typically stronger and often have abilities and powers that the others do not.
    * The head of their group, if they are strong enough, can shield the weaker members from a vampire's call, as well as their animal counterparts.
    * Some lycanthropes are better at hiding what they are than others. Typically this is the stronger members.
    * When a low-powered were shifts form from human to beast to human again in a short space of time (under 2 hours) they crash, taking many hours (12) to re-charge as it takes a lot of energy to shift back early. While they are recovering, they cannot be woken up.
    * Were's usually stay in their beast form for 8-10 hours before they collapse back into their human selves.


Alpha were's

Some shapeshifter's reach "alpha" or "master" status, a power level similar to that of a master vampire. Alpha shapeshifter's may display some of the following traits:

    * An ability to resist transforming.
    * The ability to partially shapeshift, for example shifting hands into claws, or even "cosmetic" shapeshifting - shifting bones or flesh simply to alter appearance.
    * The ability to force other shapeshifter's to change form, or to prevent them from doing so.
    * Some shapeshifter's, such as Richard can share their power with others by allowing them to feed on the shapeshifter's blood.
    * The ability to heal others, by a variety of means. (For example, Raina was able to heal through physical contact, usually ending in sex, but the healing happened before intercourse).



Wolf Info:

These are mostly unique lycanthropic based powers of the werewolves that have been described in the books.

    * Partial shifting of body, such as only hands to claws - only the strongest alphas can do this
    * Ability to 'share power' with/through their blood - a rare gift
    * Ability to control the shifting of others - not common
    * Ability to heal - a rare gift, its often linked with sex
    * Ability to change forms in a more rapid time-frame - some strong alphas can return to human form quickly after assuming the animal shape. This often comes at an energy cost, though.



Tiger Info:

* To calm an inner Tiger: With hands on either side of the victims face
stare into the others eyes and then kiss them,  breathing your power
into them. Not your beast but your power. It will cause the tiger to
calm or push it back into place. (skin trade pg 283-284)

* Tigers are bound by oaths and vows if they make them. Because they are
such noble and virtuous/honorable creatures.

    * Tiger lycanthropy is one of the harder-to-catch forms.
    * It's also one of the few that runs in families and can be inherited as well as caught.
    * The tigers tend to keep that a close family secret.
    * They try to force new tigers to marry into the clan to keep everyone related.
    * First they try to lure them in, and If they wouldn't be lured, they've been known to abduct.
    * Most of them home school their kids.
    * Very isolationist. They all keep to themselves. Solitary.
    * Their culture is also divided about pure-bloods, inherited lycanthropy, and attacks.
    * Being given tiger lycanthropy is seen as a reward for a job well done.
    * They think it's a sin to give it to someone you don't value.
    * There are only four clans of tigers in the United States.


Also all were's have extremely acute senses even in human form.

As well as were's who stay in animal form too long or too often.. they will start to gain animal traits.. like eyes or fangs..

Updated Plot Stuff
Currently there are several different plot twist attempts going on.  We have a meeting between the Tigers and the Vampire Master that can call them to him.  The Streak has shown up at the Bloody Fortune, a vampire business, to meet their acting Queen, Gigi.  Its become a mess of vampire politics.

We could also do humans with witch like talents or Regional Preternatural Investigators for our plots sake. Shifters are always a plus but if you aren't "animal" inclined.. humans with gifts are needed as well!
