Battle of the Books - OOC thread

I can't wait to see what HBO does with the story.  If the series follows the books at all, it's just going to get more awesome.

I'm doing good. Vacation time is coming up soon and we're still deciding on where to go. As the purse strings are tight we're considering Wales, we've got accommodation ready and waiting for us (free always a good thing) and there's tons to do there. We'll be on the coast - diving and surfing (or failing miserably at the latter >.< )

we're taking lessons at the moment which honestly don't seem to be helping much at all lol but all still fun
We're debating whether or not to head into Cardiff to watch Wales play England as well but we had only planned on staying for 7 days, the rugby game would push us in to 9 as we're going by ferry. So might have to rethink that part.
I won't get excited until we've made the bookings  ::)

I had to Google a couple of the character choices myself, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are a little difficult to guess.  In some cases, guessing roles in the game might be easier.  :D

Someone reminded me of a party game I played in high school.  The names of fictional characters were printed on pieces of paper and pinned to the guests backs.  Each guest had to figure out by the way people talked to them who they were supposed to be.

wicked cool, we did one where you'd stick the paper to a persons forehead but it was only a guessing game would have preferred to do it that way.

I think waiting until everyone has voted is a good idea for the first round.  That way, no matter what happens the rest of the game, it gives everyone some data on which to base their decisions, no matter how trivial or inconsequential.

Otherwise, from now on we'll have a seven-day voting cycle -- that is, voting ends either when the time is up or when everyone has voted.  Once we have fewer people, I'll probably adjust it down to five or six days, unless that starts causing problems.

In the meantime, feel free to mingle and try to guess characters if you like.  :)

She was dead, of course, by the start of the story but she made no less of an impact for that.

For those of you that didn't see the post regarding the early reveal of my character, I was Luna Lovegood (though I don't feel I did her justice, bleh) from Harry Potter. (though, in hindsight, Hermione would have been a better choice, considering we're in a library. Ah, well.)

Here's the play by play, which, short as it is, is still fascinating:

Day one:
Marguerite, a Protagonist, is lynched.

Night one:
The Antagonists target FoamWeber, a Protagonist.
The Detective investigates Imogen, an Antagonist.
The Matchmaker makes FoamWeber and Kyrsa the Lovers.
The Guardian protects himself.

Day two:
Imogen, an Antagonist, is lynched.

Night two:
The Antagonist targets Remiel, the Guardian.
The Detective investigates That Girl Analise, the Matchmaker.
The Guardian protects himself.
The Alchemist targets Beguile's Mistress, an Antagonist.

I've never seen that particular situation with the Cupid role, and probably never will again.  When I realized what had happened, I spent several seconds blinking at the screen in amazement.  Heh.  But all the good luck was with the Protagonists, and all the bad with the Antagonists, so not a very long game, unfortunately.  Still, I'm glad you all enjoyed it, and I'm sure the next one will be longer.  :)
