Evening all,

So freshly approved and looking through everything, and I have to admit, I'm a little 'pleasantly' overwhelmed. So many topics, so many places to look, so many possible things to do.

Most of my recent-ish online writing has been high fantasy, mostly custom worlds or based off Pern. I was also on a mu* for a while that was based of the Anita Blake books. In the real world I've done a lot of Shadowrun and DnD, and wouldn't have a problem with either of those. I also have a bit of a Star Wars thing, even though I've never RPd it anywhere...

I would love to find something that has a bit of comfort level for me to start with, so while I'm looking through the many, many, many posts here, feel free to point me at your thread if you think it would be a good fit.

I tend to write 3-5 paragraphs a post, but it varies based on what I have to work with and what is going on. Posts that necessitate 'shorter' actions are doable as well.  I don't mind combat or social interaction, and my perfect game would include both, with a really good story being developed as it is written. Sex as a part of character development happens, but I don't typically go for sex for simply writing sex. When it's included I typically play a hetero-ish male with a good bit of flexibility.

Ideally I would like to find 1-3 threads to start with, and develop characters for each and see where they go. Depending on flow, things may change like anyone else. Most weeks I will probably have 4-5 days that I can do a couple of postings, and the others will be a day by day basis (work, gf, etc...)

I hope you find what you are looking for. I have heard a lot about the Anita Blake series but I have yet read one of the books myself. I would have a urban fantasy game for you that has vampires, shapeshifters (wolf and other animal), witches, hunters and all that jazz in a setting that is not defined by time or space. Drifters allows you to explore the long life of your character through time, to play certain events that happened centuries ago or just yesterday. So basically, time and the whole planet is available for you to play.  There is a city, the Underground, where all those who have a little something more than the average human can meet and talk shop. The game is small, with only three players, and so it shouldn't be overwhelming for one of your first games here.

As far as the Anita Blake books themselves, I never read them. I found the Mu* on accident, and found a lot of stuff out in game. I hear they start out pretty good, then basically become softcore porn for the rest.
