As for Zarlathil, she looks alright. Though I'm going to have to suggest you take a different flaw. I'm going to have too much fun with Corruptible.

Yeah seriously, "I'll give you a copper if you-" Could become like, a catchphrase.

I just went with traditional stuff for my flaws. Having a bad will save as a druid is kind of hard.

Dracorion

Heheh, fortunately Syra's Will save is her highest, so you'd have to stack a few more modifiers than just offering copper.

I'm inclined to keep it, 'cause it fits Syra's naiveté and ignorance.

kckolbe

Yeah, I actually took a fort save flaw for my character because I didn't want it to be too high.

Illusionary gold is better than real copper. If you don't make the save to disbelieve.

eBadger

Hmm...I'd give you a gold piece to wear this collar, but the kitty seems to be hogging it.  Knew I should have gotten two!

Dracorion

:P

Normally I'd try to go for low Will save to go with the Corruptible flaw, but in a game like this a high Will save seems prudent so as to try to regulate abuse. Otherwise poor Syra'd get pulled every which way by everyone.

Prince Truhan

My character is still a work in progress (especially since last night I lost what I had put down in the character sheet and have to start over) but just so everyone knows. He is a Strongheart Halfling, Wizard specialized in transmutation level 4 Master Specialist level 2.

Oh, and with themed spell chains

indarkestknight

Okay, both builds I've been tinkering with are done - mechanically. Working on writing their backstories up, though I'm having a hard time with names and appearances. Should I post them up, or shall I wait until I've got more done?

kckolbe

So, really weird concept here, but this seems like the kind of game to try it.  Are there any players thinking of playing a female ranged fighter or caster that would like to have a loyal centaur companion?  He could either be a ranged fighter, melee combatant (if you want your char close to the fray), or a level 1 cleric.

As a perk, I would be willing to give up some of my char's money to the companion in question.

SHEET I: Garrett Flynn, the Rogue

Once upon a time, there was a thief named Garrett. He was not malicious, but he was selfish and greedy and proud. He always worked alone, never relying on anyone else, and, like so many others before him, he thought he would never be caught. But that was not to last forever. Apprehended by a mysterious man named Galeth Flynn, Garrett was offered a choice: to work with Galeth as his partner or a cold, unforgiving cell.

To Garrett's surprise, not only was Galeth Flynn a thief himself, but he was a better thief than Garrett. Yet Galeth targeted the corrupt, the decadent, those who abused their wealth and power to prey on the innocent, or who made their fortunes by exploiting the innocent. They ran confidence schemes and pulled heists; together, the partners rained ruin upon they who had caused so much suffering. And in time, he began to understand. In time, when Galeth showed Garrett those they helped, it began to dawn on him. In time, he realized that he was happier now, felt better about his work than he ever had when he stole only for himself. He found that he was better working in concert with someone than he ever had been on his own, that he was able to accomplish so much more.

The final piece fell into place the day Galeth told Garrett that once, Galeth too had been selfish and greedy, a lone wolf, a cad, until a thief had taken him under his wing. That thief's name was Flynn, and Galeth had taken it on as his own surname. Garrett, having come to see Galeth as a father figure, did the same.

Though Galeth has since retired, Garrett continues his mentor's work. He has yet to adjust to working alone again, and a part of him misses that sense of partnership. While someday he hopes to take in a thief as Galeth did for him, he feels he isn't ready yet.

Garrett holds no illusion that order and justice are the same thing, and there is little that raises his ire more than those who shield their injustices behind the law. To those who show genuine repentance, however, he is merciful, owing to the mistakes in his not-so-distant past, and he is lenient and patient in his attempts to guide others along the same path he himself has tread. He is careful and deliberate in his attempts to do the right thing, and, in many ways, he has become as unshakeable as a paladin in his dedication to doing good, though he has absolutely no qualms about using extra-legal means to achieve his ends.

Orientation: Garrett's life hasn't included a great deal of romance. While nominally heterosexual, he might be attracted to futanari, or "traps" (especially effeminate males that might be mistaken for females). He's never met either, so he's never entertained the thought.

SHEET II: Dornal Aerasumé, the Scout

They say that some are born heroes. That may be. Dornal Aerasumé was not.

Dornal was never given to grand ambitions. His greatest joy was free-running, recklessly running through alleys and streets, scaling towers and soaring over rooftops. He was content with that carefree lot in life; while he would never change the world, or history, while he would never amount to anything of importance, he was happy.

But when war erupted with a neighboring nation, something unexpected happened. Dornal's best friend, Aumar, who had run alongside him since childhood, enlisted. Knowing Aumar was more patriotic than skilled, Dornal reluctantly enlisted, with the sole intent of keeping his friend alive.

To their surprise, despite their lack of experience in combat, the pair became fine scouts over the following years, and when a truce was finally called, they both returned home alive. Still, Dornal had been changed by his experiences in the military, and the freerunning that had once brought him so much joy no longer buoyed his soul. He found himself unable to quiet his own restlessness, struggling to adjust to civilian life. Recently, he's begun to spend his nights as a vigilante, clearing criminals from his neighborhood, and though the rush of danger helps abate his restlessness most nights, the respite is brief, and he remains unhappy with his life.

Centaur takes up all 6 levels we have, if you were being one. *would know, loves centaurs*

I may have misread, but was under the impression that the last hit die can be subbed for a character class.  I am also looking at playing an Ogre, since SteelZephyr mentioned having plenty of size modification spells handy, and variety is fun.  Basically, I just want to have a few concepts ready and somewhat set up so the group has options (since we don't know who will make the cut).

That's more on entries that only have 1 hit die, like kobolds and such.

kckolbe

Gotcha.  So if I played an Ogre or a Centaur, it would just be as a fighter or fighter/mount.

Centaur idea is interesting; we need some more female players though, I think only 1 so far?

As to your concepts, IDK, the rogue sounds more interesting (he has a couple clear goals) but a ranger would be nice.  He just needs more than restlessness to drive him, I think.  Maybe some tragedy (while he was away at war and couldn't be there) to inspire his vigilantism?

I believe we have 2, one's a pixie, and the other was the first one posted iirc.

kckolbe

That is correct.  Since the centaur won't be a caster of any kind, he could carry a medium sized male (currently has a light load of 306).

We have a female dragon borne, and a female shifter, both druids, made so far.
I don't believe the pixie is finished yet, and may end up being one of the last characters finished since the player is gone this entire weekend.

Granted, I think the pixie will be the only one actually played by a female unless Siereis finishes that Paladin she said would be done 3 days ago.

kckolbe

ooh, a paladin would be an appropriate fit to ride a centaur.

Umm... methinks you forgot to factor in the fact he's a quadruped. Strength of 21? Light load is 459 actually.

kckolbe

Oh wow.  I see what you mean now.  Yeah, rider weight will not be an issue.

Yeah but centaurs don't usually allow themselves to be barded and ridden... but it's your character, perhaps there's a reason.

kckolbe

Yeah, I was planning on a very different upbringing for this one (with a touch of conditioning), which is why I was going to go cleric as opposed to ranger/druid, but it seems he will start off classless.  But yeah, he will allow himself to serve as a mount in a warped view of teamwork.
