I get kicked out of threads

So anytime I reply to a thread I don't get redirected to the thread I just posted in but to the Directory in the order above it.
Is it supposed to do that and if so,
just

Though it may require approval.

Why is it the default? We had people ask the opposite question when it was the other way. >_>

Yeah, it looks like I need approval to change that setting.
