I mostly look forward to his future planning. :)

Why does Sunrise keep giving us non-UC gundam? It is fun guessing who the char proxy is but besides that it is just a big circle jerk.

The plot itself is also super dumb. If you had the resources to terraform, colonize, and then ship resources back to Earth from Mars, you could have had just terraformed Earth and saved everyone a huge hassle. They also terraformed Mars wrong. Mars doesn't have a rotating iron core to generate a magnetic shield from cosmic rays, as no amount of terraforming can fix that. The only way to have colonies on mars without everyone dying from radiation poisoning is to bury the colonies deep underground.  Perhaps these Ahab reactors can help some of this.

*Shakes Yugi* It's soooo good! I love that they brought in Mari Okada who can actually write... so we don't get another Seed.

I didn't mind Seed, but Seed Destiny was mediocre. The series I hate the most is G-Reco.

I've discovered Sound! Euphonium on crunchyroll. It's actually the first band themed Anime I've seen and it's bringing me back to some serious memories of Middle School band. I was 2nd Chair Trumpet, but that was many years ago. It's typical Japanese Anime though, the band has 60 members and 50 of them are girls. It was really weird seeing girls playing anything other than Flute and Clarinet, since in my experience that's all they ever played. We had a single female Saxophone in Middle School, and I can't really remember my High School band.

Also in my usual viewing fashion, I didn't get around to watching Sword Art Online until after all the initial hype ran its course, and I absolutely loved it.

Has anyone been watching Dragonball Super? I initially wanted to hold off until the dub, but since Funimation still hasn't seemed to have gotten the license to get started, I've been watching it on and off subtitled. I've had really mixed feelings about the series so far, since I still don't see the point in retelling the stories of Battle of the Gods or Resurrection of F. I actually skipped through the majority of Battle of the Gods, and really only watched Goku's fight with Beerus. I didn't think the fight was as good as the fight in the movie, but it was entertaining enough. I'm really still just waiting for them to actually start doing something original with this series though. :/

Yeah....its been out since July but a lot of people are probably not watching it because its taking so long to retell both BotG and RoF. Hopefully once they get started on showing this new story following the movies things will pick up.

Okay, I need some advice here. I'm into Anime on a smaller scale and enjoy watching some of the recommendations from my friends. A close friend of mine once recommended Fate/Zero. I finished the two seasons available on Netflix and absolutely LOVED the show. Recently, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works was released on Netflix. I literally just finished the season and found myself incredibly bored. The intensity. The suspense. The thrilling moments. All of it seemed gone during this season.

Here is where I need advice. Only one season exists on Netflix (haven't looked up if others have been released or if it's still being made). With this in mind, I was wondering if anybody else had read the mangas or seen the other seasons and recommended the continual watching/reading of the story. I was so bored during the second season that I ended up listening to music after a few episodes while working on a play that I'm writing. I paid enough attention to get the gist of the story, and looked up what all I missed. Reading about the season was five times more enjoyable than actually watching it.

Did anybody else watch it? If so, your thoughts?

You could try to give Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya a go, it's in the Fate world, with tie-ins to the other Fate series, and a direct like to both Stay Night and Zero.

I loved the original Fate/Stay Night, found the Anime of Unlimited Blade Works immensely boring <.< and only read Zero

So I'm 46, and grew up in the Air Force, having friends from Japan who got me into anime very early--they owned toys from series I didn't recognize until later.  My first phase was watching Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, and Battleship Yamato.  Later in junior high I started watching Macross and religiously kept up with all three U.S. series, and bought videotapes of Tank Police and Gunbuster.  Third phase was a buddy and I becoming fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop.  Fourth phase was passing it on and watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with my son three times through the entire series, then Attack on Titan.

Once we got Netflix, we started watching Bleach, which he's already finished, but I'm disappointed they don't have Hellsing--something I've wanted to see for a while.  He's gotten into Black Butler, but I'm trying to decide on something new to watch.  Sword Art Online looks to be a big thing...though I don't know if it would be my kind of thing.

I used to collect the U.S. versions of Oh My Goddess! and Pineapple Army.  I've always been a big fan of Masamune Shirow, and I mean to see everything having to do with Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Full Metal Alchemist is always one of the first things that comes to mind, when I think of something I'd recommend to an anime fan. I'd recommend FMA: Brotherhood over the original Full Metal Alchemist anime though, as it follows the actual plot of the manga and is overall far less depressing.

You should check out Ghost in the Shell Arise if you haven't already.

Just re-watched Jin-Roh The Wolf Brigade... Love it so much! Also finally got my version of Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl.

Honestly I say watch them both as they both cover things... FMA will cover things that Brotherhood glosses over.

I actually did start to watch it until I figured out it was a series... I sold off the disc's and can find it up to date on kissanime along with Dragonball Super. Will pick it up when I am able to buy it. Though my dentures come first!

Anyone been seeing the changes that Dragonball Super has been making to the Resurrection of F storyline? I gotta say, after sitting through their Battle of the Gods adaptation I was worried it was just gonna be almost a carbon copy with a few minor changes here and there like with that story, but I'm genuinely surprised and kinda pleased to see them taking so many liberties with the plot this time. I don't even really care if it's not that much better or worse than the movie when all is said and done, I just want it to be different, and it looks like I'm getting my wish. (Thanks Shenron!)

Okay I'm giving Steins;Gate another shot. People keep telling me it's amazing if you power through the slow start. I watched the first couple of episodes once and was pretty bored, but I guess I'll power through.

FMA Brotherhood is a telling of the story from the full metal alchemist manga. There are a few additional characters, and the plot goes in another direction, but the ending is the same between the two versions. All in all FMA Brotherhood is the same but different from the original FMA.

Expect good fight scenes, good animation, and some really heartfelt moments between brotehrs. All in all it's a fun time highly recommend.

I have to put a vouch out there for FMA: Brotherhood. Personally, I think it's a bit better than FMA because the animation is smoother and the story is much more streamlined, but that does mean that you get punched in the proverbial 'feels' that much sooner.

And throwing my own recommendations into the fray, Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story) is a great unexpected love story sort of deal that I can not recommend highly enough. It's really refreshing and a lot of fun.

Also Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma is like food porn and action/comedy had an amazing shonen-style baby. I went in doubtful, but it ended up being one of my favorites of this year.
