So here's what I'm thinking.

Captain of the Royal Guard and her second in command go on a mission to find a kidnapped lady of the court.

They're close friends, right? And there's a bunch of romantic tension, but they avoid it by acting like brothers-in-arms and playing up their close friendship.

Then they find the princess or lady or whatever, and she's real pretty-like and courtly, and she falls for the second-in-command fella. Then there's a bunch of jealousy and the trip back is kinda tense.

But then it all works out in the end, happy story.

I'd play both ladies, as I'm more comfortable with them. Could be a low-key fantasy sort of setting if you want, but I don't want either of the royal guardsmen to have magicky stuff. Just regular being awesome at swordsmanship junk.

I normally write between three and four paragraphs after the intro, which could be even longer. I would like to rp with someone who also has that length to their posts. I mean, obviously it'd vary depending on how much their is to play. But at least make a coherent post, right? A bunch of sentences won't make up for shoddy prose. Love!

Um. I guess it could also be under the mature board if I get accepted, but for now it'll stay pg13. <3

Nice story you have there. I would like to RP with you. Just start the play and I will jump in if you agree.

May i join? I am open to whatever role you need and i would like to rp! :P I can do the larger posts. Especially if i have a larger post too reply to! Lemme know. :)

I could give it another shot. ^_^ But lets try some more character development before we jump into it. Considering our characters already know each other, I should probably know a bit about who you're playing, and you can ask questions about who I'm playing. Makes it less generic, y'know? And if they have uber depressing separate histories, we could always play off of that.

Tell me about who you plan on playing, please. <3

Chara Background!

Garnier Milsec was a large man. He stood 7 feet 2 inches tall. His muscles were honed by his training in the royal guard and by his life of struggle. His Black armour, which consisted of a breast and back plate, upper arm and lower arm outside plates and shin guards, all showed signs of battle. He had a small scar running from his Left ear to the corner of his mouth where he hadn't been quick enough dodging in a fight.

Garnier's life had always been a struggle. as a child he was a street urchin in one of the small villages around the castle. He lived his life by beating up the other people who tried to fight him, he stole his food and he ran from the authorities. One day he had been caught for stealing an apple. The then captain of the guard was an od man who had lost his son in a skirmish with bandits in the rcent past, and he saw something in the boy that reminded him of his son. The captain of the guard took him in and began to rain him in how to live a civiized life. He taught Garnier the way of the Royal guard and raised him into a formidable fighting machine. In time the old man died and was replaced by a woman. Garnier served her as he had his stepfather, faithfully and strongly. Over time his loyalty got him a second in command position. It was at this time that he began to notice his commanding offer in ways that he had not before. But he kept these feelings to himself. He didn't know if he could bear he thought that she might not feel the same way. so He never mentioned it. But he swore to himsef that he would protect her with his life. And he would let nothing stop her from aspiring toward her dreams.

thas what i'm thinking for my chara. it is very small and spur of the moment. I figured you might could come up with something similar and then we might critique each others chara till we ar both staisfied we have decent charas to start this wonderfu adventure. :)
\Feel free to ask questions and tell me what you think might need to be changed. I tried not to God-mod your chara, though i did stick her in their as capitan of the guard, since you sid that in the story idea. :P Lemme know.

Wow. Seven feet two inches? That's... incredibly tall. Unrealistically tall, even. You sure you wanna go with that height?

Joan Denire stands at five foot eleven inches. She isn't terribly thin, but what thickness she has to her is almost pure muscle. She does not look sickly by any means, but she is also not at all overweight. Her hair is curly and brown, and she finds that it often gets in the way during her work. So she wears it braided tightly in the back, giving her a frighteningly severe look. Her eyes are green, but not strikingly so. She has a long, deep scar running from the bottom of her ribs up her side and along her left breast. It stops just short of her collarbone, curving with her. She is twenty six years old.

Joan's life had never been terribly difficult. Her father had been in the royal army, and she followed after him as soon as she was of age. Unfortunately, her mother died giving birth to her youngest brother, who also joined the army as soon as he was able. Her father died several years ago in a skirmish towards the southern border. After that, Joan began to personally assist the general, helping to lead the nation's army to victory against their enemies. After the death of the captain of the guard, Joan was relieved from field duty as a soldier, and promoted to his rank.

She considers life as a royal guardsman dull compared to what she used to go through- what her brother still goes through. After a while, she even began to feel as though she'd stolen the job from one Garnier Milsec, who had seemed a shoe-in before her arrival. But the two became friends after a bit of squabbling here and there, and she found him to be quite worthy of her respect as a soldier. After speaking with the king, she managed to promote him to her second-in-command.

Joan had never really noticed men before. She entered the army at a young age, and since then has avoided close ties with most people. Friendships were easy for her to disconnect from. However, after a while, she began to more than respect Garnier. Frustrated and incapable of understanding basic human emotion, she keeps her feelings under wraps. Not for fear of rejection, but for fear of getting too attached.

My original idea was to have her as daughter of the ex-captain, 'cause that's normally how I figure it. But since you wrote what you did, I figured I could edit my backstory a bit.

Sorry. didn't mean to make you lose your original story line. I will change it up. And your right. 7 foot two is un realistic. Bad typo. I meant 6' 2' :) Lemme give this another go.

Garnier Milsec stands about 6' 2" tall. His 28 year old body shows the wear and stress of over 10 years of battle and stress. His hair is thick and and brown but short. it hangs just a little past his ears. His bright green eyes were not cold, but they held little mirth. He was stockier than most men, partially due to his height, but more because his training had made his muscles chiseled and firm. to look at him from a distance would imply the tales of old, the stern faced warrior, ravaged by time and war.

The truth was, his visage was cut by more than just his battles. Life in the guard was much less intense than his life previously had been. He had aged faster than he should have living the streets until he had been recruited for the guard. Before them he had been little Better than a thief and a bandit. Garnier's Parents were very poor people. When he was 4 they had been killed in an bandit raid crossing from one village to another. The band of raiders had taken him him and taught him their kills and trade. His life there was hard. He was constantly at battle with the others after a certain age and always in battle with the escort guards of the royalty and sundry they attacked on the road. He never forgot the values of his parents, but he saw no other way to survive.

But, as it is said, his life, however justified, caught up to him. When he was nineteen he was caught attacking one of the royal caravans of goods. He was offered a choice. Rare in those days as it was in these days now. He could join the royal guard and pay off his debt by assisting in the capture of his comrades, or he could rot in prison. He found out later that the decision had been requested by an old man who had know his father and was well like by the king. He had found his way out. His royal guard training, coupled with his Bandit training, proved to be a lethal combination to his new foes. He had the advantage of knowing their tactics and being able to counter them. Slowly but surely he began to work his way up through the ranks. Eventually he made it to the post of second in command of the entire Royal guard. After this it was his underlings that did most of the fighting. He missed the days where he was able to get out there and fight. It had been his life since he was very young and it was the only thing he knew.

On the other hand, his new rank allowed him to get to know his commander a little better. He knew of Joan Denire, he had even seen her giving speeches to her troops and accompanied her on several missions as he had climbed the ranks. She was twenty four when he became her second in command. Now after two years he had come to know her facial expressions, her moods, her like and dislikes. He had come to love her. But he never acted on it. She had always seemed out of his grasp. She was the daughter of the previous captain of the guard and royal blood flowed in her veins. He was no more than the scum of bandits that had been given a second chance. So he sat back and watched. He wished but made no advancements. She had never given him any cause to believes she saw him as anything more than her second in command. But he had made a vow to himself anyway that he would do what he could to keep her out of harms way. that he would help her, even if it was in the background, make her dreams come true.

It was at this point, two years after having gained the second in command, that his old company, the Gilded Serpents kidnapped a lady of the court. When information reached the castle, Joan and Garnier were chosen to free the captured lady. And it was on this mission that he was about to embark.

I dig it. That's actually hella perfect. You didn't have to change the story any, but I think this one is better anyway.

My story'll pretty much stay the same, except the started off in the guard with  her dad, then went off in the army with her uncle, then went back to the guard with her dad, and took his position when he died. 'S pretty basic, so I don't figure there's any need to rewrite the whole thing. Unless you want me too. (I just recently woke up. Forgive my laziness.)

But yeah. I really like the Gilded Serpents bein' the ones stealin' ladybits.

Where do you want the thread to start? Them receiving the assignment, them just heading out, them being on the road for a while, or them being real close-like to the camp?

I figure sticking to realism. As the capitain of the guard you should recive the assignment then com find me im my quarters at the barracks. We st off from there. I will get an idea of the world from your description of the journey up to the point i start posting. Feel free to work ahead of my responses. That way i have more to play. If you only play to the first thing you say to me then the posts can end up short very fast on boh side. I will accpet going on the mission with you. And assume i am walking by your side.! :)
Dont forget to link me to the storyboard. or at least tell me the name of the thread. :)
