Question we going with the long lived or short lived Tieflings/Aasimar

Vergil1989

I figured they'd be long lived for the most part.  Just makes sense to me since they are part demon to varying degrees.

One thing I forgot to ask in all this, are we playing an actual system or can I just willy nilly tear someones head from their shoulders without having to roll?

Callie Del Noire

And another question..how are we doing the spells/ Ball park a level and work from there?

It says in the title 'Freeform'.  Meaning no system.  Little monster groups and such you can cut down with abandon, but I don't want anyone to walk all over the minions that are thrown at the group.  Upper class minions and 'bosses' however, are to be a team effort.  NO ONE will be oneshotting the big bads, no matter how badass they are, especially since you're starting at 'level one' for all intents and purposes.

IMPORTANT UPDATE as of October 6th 2016 in A/A page

Big Honk

Ah, I'm a terribly slow writer! And also terribly out of form! And everyone is posting ahead of me, and also I'm European so it's 02:30! So here is my very, very WIP sheet. I will of course fill out the sheet come tomorrow, but I feel like I had to get something out before the doors close, and hell everyone else seems to have posted WIPs so it seems to not be a social faux pas? Anyway, here we go.

Name: Matthew Cartwright
Age: 33
Gender: Male

Appearance:  Matthew stands at a modest 5'7, with a broad build that's usually draped in an unflattering hoodie and sweatpants. Brown hair, brown eyes, round expression. Has a scratchy beard with a few early grey specs in its brown; it's the kind of growth trimmed only to keep societal standards. Though having broad shoulders and chest, it's clear he hasn't exercised them properly in years. Wears white sneakers, curiously spotless. Appears as someone who's been dragged out of their basement to join society. He seems to have done so, reluctantly.

Personality: Simply, a cynical and paranoid bastard. Though once a bold young artist, his ego in vast disproportion to his portfolio, defeat after defeat has resulted in a state where he believes that the world isn’t ready for him, and, somewhere in the back of his mind, that it’s the reverse. He treats people he doesn’t know with distrust - particularly the successful - but has a soft spot for youths, wishing to inform them about the “truth” of things before they’re faced with harsh “reality.” Being a manchild might be a factor in this, though. However, to these people, and to the other people he sees as equals, he is fiercely loyal - especially if they choose to reward him, be it monetarily or with praise.

Despite the setbacks in his life, he’s still a driven person, which these days is frankly more to his detriment. His self-destructive tendencies are put in full motion inside the world of roleplay, where he enjoys more than anything playing the part of those he feels has scorned him. Cruel, manipulative, scumbag characters are his MO, and are frankly a pain in the ass to play with. His deep knowledge and understanding of DnD’s systems and kinks are his saving grace as a roleplay partner, and makes him useful in the combat against any nitpicky GMs.
Hobbies:  Roleplay, Drawing, Pulpy Grimdark Novels, Taekwondo (defunct), Shitposting.
Skills:
Cooking: Having come from a family of good eaters, and good wealth, Matthew knows how to cook up a damn good meal. Comes with the downside of being a fairly picky eater.

Background: Matthew Cartwright came from an upper middle class family that said he could do anything. Independence has been the cornerstone of his beliefs and living ever since a young child, his affluent parents having crawled from modest beginnings through perseverance and, something which their coddling of Matthew meant he could never have, self-insight.

Name: Faydove Asira
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Alignment:  Lawful Good
Race: Halfling

Racial Traits:
Ability Score Racial Traits: Halflings are nimble and strong-willed, but their small stature makes them weaker than other races. They gain +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, and –2 Strength.
Size: Halflings are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their CMB and CMD, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Base Speed (Slow Speed): Base speed of 20ft.
Languages: Halflings begin play speaking Common and Halfling.
Craven: While most halflings are fearless, some are skittish, making them particularly alert. 1+ bonus to Initiative Rolls and Attack Rolls while flanking. They take a –2 penalty on saves against fear effects and gain no benefit from morale bonuses on such saves. When affected by a fear effect, their base speed increases by 10 feet and they gain a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class.
Ingratiating: Halflings often survive at the whims of larger, more aggressive races. Because of this, they go out of their way to make themselves more useful, or at least entertaining, to larger folk. Halflings with this racial trait gain a +2 bonus on skill checks for a single Perform skill of their choice, and Perform is always a class skill for them. They also gain a +2 bonus on Craft and Profession checks. This racial trait replaces keen senses and sure-footed.

(I've never tried linking before so no idea how this works)
Class:  http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric
Deities worshipped:  Sarenrae, the Goddess of Healing and Light. She was the deity of her former masters, though mostly only in name - a vestige left from before the time of heroes.
Appearance:
Personality: Faydove is gentle in all that she does. She treads so quietly you'll never hear her approach, and speaks in a softly articulated speech that turns only to make itself clear. Her movements are deliberate in the sense of how one might hold the reigns of a horse, with careful efficiency, and so is the choice of her words. But more hidden than any of the former is her sense of humour, the kind cast with a knowing smile as someone discovers something amiss - like a loaf of bread hollowed out, like a carved up mattress, like a hand in a bag. (I'm just kidding about that last thing. I think.)
Hobbies:
Skills:
Background: A life of slavery was Faydove's reality before she was born. Her family had been slavebound for many generations, for some atrocity by a forgotten relative - a crime that could only be repaid over several lifetimes of servitude. It was a simple life. Sow and harvest crops, tend to the house, look after yourself. Be courteous, but not imposing. Always available, but invisible when not needed. Don't question, don't speak out of line, don't do what isn't asked of you - unless it's what was wanted of you. Perhaps it wasn't the simplest life after all, but Faydove was born into a family of centuries of experience - they knew how to work, and work well, and the masters were generous in return.

The Asira family was a father and two mothers, a sister and two brothers. The love triangle was naturally tense, but Faydove and her siblings bonded together over their misfortune, and a common father who seemed far too large a personality for that of a slave. He'd tell outrageous stories about the forefather who'd cast them into their lot, every tale more gruesome than the last

What she did was perhaps a selfless act, but she never once thought of herself as a hero. After all, how can a slave be a hero?

You're off to a good start for sure Honk, and yeah, you're fine posting an WIP character sheet, so no worries there.  ;D  No one will be waving around pitchforks and flaming torches at ya lol.  Anyway, just finish up when you can and I'm sure you'll be fine.  You DO raise an interesting topic though, that of slavery.  I had considered it, I just hadn't given it a lot of thought yet, so thank you for that.  ;D

IMPORTANT UPDATE as of October 6th 2016 in A/A page

Callie Del Noire

Name: Kyle Phillips Jr.
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Appearance: 6'4", with dark hair and hazel/green eyes. Tends to dress casual, eschewing ties and leaving his collar open. Prefers jeans and button up shirts  when he can, along with his grandfather's silver rodeo buckle. He has a running back's build but his more recent injuries prevent him from continuing to work out and it's starting to soften and typically keeps his bad arm in a sling and carries a cane.

Personality:Normally outgoing and cheerful, Kyle is prone to what he calls 'Black Dog' moods of extreme frustration and anger and can be quite
destructive and aggressive in the. He has an extensive circle of friend's online, most of them tied to his time in the navy, playing baseball or gaming online. He tends to secrets about his problems and downplays his injuries and absolute hates being pandered to over them.

Hobbies:  Writing, miniature painting, online MMOs, studying online for a degree in English.

Skills:  Expressive writer, already published many short stories; drawing/drafting (difficult to do now), some skills at mechanical design and mechanics and training in bomb assembly/disassembly (EOD), small arms training and some close quarters combat training. (Which is near useless with his injuries)

Background: Kyle Phillips Jr. was the chosen one from age seven till well into high school. He was an amazing springer and had a fast ball that was gaining more 'mph' with each year. Dad loved him best. He got the good stuff, and his sister and little brother were second tier in dad's eyes. He liked it. He was going to be the Phillips who would go to the olympics, play in the majors and come home to bring everyone up in the family.

That dream ended when he was 15 and an angry player on the opposing team took a bat to him after the game. His collar bone healed but the 90 mph slider never came back and it took most of his high school years for the physical therapy to get his knee back up to spec. Though never good enough for sports again, he got waived in his junior year for the Navy. Eleven months of working out for the SEAL fitness test, to be an EOD specialist like his grandfather, who had been the one of the few folks to stand by him after the assault along with his sister, Alicia. His dad had given up on him after finding out his boy wasn't superstar material. Matthew, happy to be the 'star' of the family, eagerly stepped into the role; while he realized he'd been just as bad as his dad at ignoring the important things. Family.

Gramps and Alica attended his graduation, dad was too busy running Matthew to a pitching camp to see the 'ex-jock' graduate 10th in his class and get an award for writing. Or to see him off to boot camp. Or be there to see him be accepted into EOD training straight out of Ordinance school. Dozens of little things. He was making sure to NOT do that to his sister, Matthew having pretty much blew off any attempts at reconciliation through most of Kyle's high school years and first deployment.

He finished training and was doing well as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Tech; life was moving up as he met Jake, the first person he really felt for in any meaningful way. They were 'liberty buddies' and coworkers on the flight deck of the USS John C. Stennis. Till the day the accident happened. The day someone signaled the wrong signal and an E-2 on full power turned on them while they were working. Jake saw it and tried to shove him clear of the air blast, he almost made it. Kyle landed hard on a rack of missiles and every thing went black.

When he woke up there were three things he had to accept as reality: Jake was dead, hitting the side of the carrier's command level or 'island', killed instantly in the impact. He was terribly crippled with nerve damage to his left arm and his leg hip was crushed. His career in the Navy was done. Nineteen months of surgery and therapy later, he was mustered out with the rest of his service reenlistment bonus (SRB), medical retirement with 80% of 1st Class Petty Officer retirement pay for the rest of his life.

He went home, to try and make one last try with his father and brother, but ended up driving away in disgust as it was clear that his father was destroying Matthew in an attempt to measure up to the same impossible standard as he had started to with Kyle. Matthew refused to accept that when Kyle told him, calling him jealous that he was willing to do what it took. The argument that finished his relationship with his brother and father was inflammatory and final; he moved in with his sister in San Francisco where his sister had settled in after he'd paid her through college and wrote a lot of very well received short stories and one really good novel.

Racial Traits:  Prehensile Tail, Vestigal Wings
Link for ClassWizard, Evocation School; Admixture Subschool
Deities worshipped: Cayden Cailen
Appearance: Red skin, with tattoos over her arms and torso, with rings set in both her ears and on her curled horns. Her eyes are black with bright yellow irises that burn intensely when she is angry and long black hair she keeps in a braid.
Personality: Playful, a bit flirtatious and an apparent party girl who 'dabbles' in magic to hide her past as a student in the Academe; focused and serious when working or researching things. Intensely protective of her mother's family and kin.
Hobbies:  Writing articles for the Pathfinder Society, crafting scrolls and mixing drinks.
Skills:  Magic, specifically evocation and elemental magics; calligraphy and the study of magic, history, local events and history; languages (she speaks over a dozen)
Background:  Born of a nobleman and his local varisian merchant wife, Rhea was a child of privilege. Her grandfather spotted her gift for magic early on and taught her small magics and how to control her gifts. She had an excellent future in had, an engagement to a powerful noble family a scholarship at the most prestiguous magical school in the region. The puberty hit, and it wasn't like most folks as in addition to developing curves a bosom and such, she grew vestigial wings, a tail and horns with skin the color of dried blood during her third year at the school.

Needless to say, the revelation of her father's family having 'taint' made for difficult times, her grandfather went home to 'ease' things over with the other family. Their 'response' was to send his thigh bone back to the family, polished smooth and strengthened. She took it and left that night, disappearing into the city till she found a gypsy that recognized the one item her mother had left her before dying, an ancient scarf that belonged to her mother's family for a long time. With it and the gypsy's guidance, she found the merchant clan her mother had left behind to marry her father. The family took her in, despite her demonic appearance, and her grandmother taught her the secrets of magic that their family knew, including tattooing hidden spells on her body so that she always had a spellbook on hand written on the runes in the hidden tongue of her mother's people.

For decades she stayed with the family, tending to their needs and assisting her aunts and then her nieces in guiding the family but recently she's developed a bit of wanderlust and is wandering the lands looking for adventure before returning home to her kin with gifts for the children and coin for the family coffers.
