[EX] -- Interest check GURPS 4E Arena Game

Just an interest check at this point, to see if anyone is interested in playing in a GURPS 4th Edition Arena Combat RPG.  It would focus on the combat on a blow-by-blow basis, with characters being young arena fighters starting out in their careers.  It would be in Extreme due to gore, and nonconsensual situations wouldn't be out of the question either.  There would of course be roleplay between matches and of course player-vs-player combat.

Tentatively planning to allow rules in GURPS Martial Arts and Magic to be used as it is a fantasy setting.  Requiring players to at least have GURPS Lite (though this is free from Steve Jackson Games) and thinking between 80-100 base points for starting PCs.  Starting characters would not be able to have cinematic or supernatural type powers (except for magic or those a fantasy race gets) but could possibly acquire them through spending earned XP.

Hmm ... does the idea of the Arena format turn folks off, or the use of GURPS 4E?

The easiest way to learn GURPS, if you are interested, is to download the free GURPS lite rules here.

If interested in the game, you could make a capable-enough character just using those rules.

Good to hear, though would like one or two others at least since this is primarily a competitive, Player vs. player setup.
