(NC System Big Groups Insane Musings) Spelljammer: The White Throne

In an endless rainbow ocean of flamible Phlostigon float infinite crystal spheres, each one containg a star and it's associated worlds.

One of these is spheres is known as Aumnatar Space. 

The center of the system is great, fiery Aumnatar, named for a sun god who blesses law abiding empires.


Beyond it is the small red and green world of Nile, a desert with a great life giving river spiraling down from the northern ice cap, past the equator, to the southern ocean.  Here two empires--the lineage of gilgeam and the lineage of Horus--vie for supremecy for themselves and their pantheons. 

Further out, but still warm and bright is a ring of rich air containing a billion vast trees and floating astroid gardens called the Ring Wood.  Home to many elves and sylvan beings as well as prosperous humans, this ring faces a horible plague as Moander the Rotting God of Conformity seeks to infect it all into one vast avatar. 

The third world is Chaunteah, a diverse and wholesome world named for the EArthmother, who so loved her people that she remade herself goddess of the harvest.  It's moon, Selune, a benevolent nation ruled by goodly priest-queens will soon suffer a terible conquest by the very Baneites whose grandparents they sheletered. 

The fourth world is Nornan, a desolate and mysterious stony world riddled with mile deep canyons.  It's most beautiful moon, Eclipse, is large and sylvan on one side, but it's orbit is such that one hemisphere is forever either facing away from Aumnatar or in it's shadow.  The light side of this world is a great elven stronghold, base of the elven imperial fleet.  But they face constant threats from the drow bellow, who fear not the surface when half the world is in constant eclipse. 

Where once the beuatiful planet of Emerald was home too vast Saurial nations, now a great and jagged ring of haunted and monster infested meteors rings the sun.  Not a century ago, this green land, rich in gems, was shredded by a terible concert of horific psionic artifacts that they might easier harvest the gems within. 

The fifth world, Mist, is a great ocean shrouuded in constant fog.  Many moons orbit it, Oren the Gianthome, green Avalon, and the two great dwarven capitols of Balur and Bromir.  Once, Bromir was the druegar throne world.  After their criminal Gaiacide of the Saurial's home, a great unified army broke their power and siezed their home.  This is a dangerous system, for the mists writhing the planet all too often rise up to the moons around them bringing with them pale winged monsters of all descritpions called Mist Wraiths. 

Further out is a volcanic world known as Ember.  This large planet has a dozen inhabited moons, one a harsh patriatchal desert world. 

The seventh world is Cretacia, a fair jungle planet despite her distance from Aunatar.  One of it's continets is ruled by suarian Raptors who work to keep the mamalian Rin from rising to a strength suficient to challenge them.  Another is a more civilized and diverse continent known for domestication of dinosaurs. 

The eight world is The Ring of Frost, a great, chill astroid belt inhabited by kindori riding vikings and nerf-herding xitchil among others.

This is the story of fall of Selune to treacherous Baneites whom they gave refuge in their darkest hour.  It will fall to Princess Virale and her companions to escape the conquest of their home.  in exile, they must complete the assebly of an artifact and seek out allies powerful enough to help them retake their home. 


But if the princess fails, will she suffer her mother's fate, ravished by a noble of the new White Throne Empire and kept as a slave bride and tool in their rise to power? 

The game uses Dungeons and DRagons Second edition, the Spelljammer Campaing Setting, and the Faiths of Faerun trilogy. 

I'd be overjoyed to help good writers with minimal rules familairity with their charecters.

What sort of concepts are you looking for? Would something like an imperial fleet captain be viable? Are kits and materials from the various complete book of X usable? Is this more a starting character sort of thing?

Hey there Kol.  I'm still working out the exact specifications of charecter generation.  There will be a bit of experience, somewhere along the lines of 4-6. 

Concepts have to somehow get the characters onto the princesses ship, but given that the elven imperial fleet are at the very least allies of Selune--possibly with a marriage into the royal line depending on what I work out with the princess's player--an elven officer in the party is entirely appropriate. 

I encourage the Complete series, including complete space farer's handbook and SLIGHTLY less strict interpretation of the complete book of humanoids.  (Especaily Voadkyn, Firbolg, sprites, etc.)  I'm not using most of the Skills and Powers, but am using the Skills and Powers reinterperation of Psionics.  Also, instances of the alternate specialist wizards from Skills and Powers are encouraged.

Charecters should be either the princess's liege girls or senior staff of the ship that she escapes on.

Atrbutes: 
--Roll 5d6, keep the most desirable 3. 
--Do this 6 times. 
--If you have no 18, make the second highest number 18.
--You may subtract from your lowest 2 stats to raise others. 
--Add 3 to the stats in any combination, not to exceed 18.
--If you still don't have the required stats for your class/kit, raise them to the absolute minimum.   

For hit points, reroll ones.
