The year is 2025, and the world's oceans have generally been regarded as a peaceful place, even if war threatened one part of it the seas, there would still be safe waters on another. Most of the world depended on the trade routes of the sea. Massive Cargo, Container, and Tanker ships ferrying goods, resources, and commerce from ports all over the world. However, if those lines were cut off, most of the modern world would suffer. The economies of all nations were all some how linked by the oceans. It was a known fact, but many chose not to see this potential weakness. A weakness that a mysterious enemy of Humanity would exploit.

For the past three months all known shipping routes used by cargo ships have been under constant siege, entire ships left as burning wrecks floating in the ocean or sinking beneath the waves. No survivors had ever been Recovered from the wrecks, whatever was attacking the ships was being very thorough, and using weapons which burned gaping holes in the ships, sometimes straight through to the other side. Needless to say, every country soon began suspecting the others of some kind of new weapon testing and attempting to disrupt world trade for unknown reasons. It wasn't until the enemy made themselves known that the world realized it was an old foe once believed to be gone. The Abyssal fleet has returned, and with them, they brought weapons beyond Man's understanding.

The year is now 2028, and Man has been losing a battle against their old foe. The advance weapons the Abyssal Fleet carried decimated Man's navies, and Air-forces. It looked like the world was on the brink of ruin. Yet, Man had one more card up its sleeve. A mysterious organization stepped forth from the shadows. They called themselves; XCOM. Their Mission had been to protect mankind from threats that descended from the heavens, but even they were blind to the threat from the sea.

XCOM, an organization that answered to no government, made from best, and brightest. They remembered, they were the ones to remind the world of whom defeated the Abyssal fleet in the past. The brave young women whom inherited the fighting spirits of the great warships of past eras. The Fleet Girls. Now the call has gone out to all nations of the world, to send their Ship Girls to Xcom so that together they can fight off the alien/Abyssal fleet alliance and stop the alien invasion.

Though little do they expect, not all enemies come from the stars or beneath the sea.

So this is a Crossover between one of the original Xcom games "Terror From the Deep." and the anime/manga. "Kantai Collection" Not that much knowledge of either group as things will slowly be explained over time though it would be preferred if some info was known about one or the other.

I will be the GM for this rp along with Mac84.

Players can play any Ship type (Battleship, Aircraft Carrier, Destroyer, Cruiser, Submarine.) so long as it does have a Real world Counter part. (Exception: Levi for GM, and Story purposes). Technology limited to WWII-Era to prevent Overpowering/story effect. As technology develops, different weapons becomes available. Human personal roles can be played after Fleet Girl positions are filled.

Open to all Nationalities. (US, Japan, German, England, Etc.)

Name:Classified, but answers to Levi. (Short for Leviathan.)

Class: Multi role: As an artificial Ship girl and first of her kind she is able to both augment her weaponry and crew compartment to be able to carry the artificial minis similar to the ones that pilot carrier girl's planes. Levi is able to both carry minis (Dubbed Aquanauts) into combat and is also able to engage in combat with enemy ships, though not as effectively as she likes to believe.

Allegiance: Solely to X-com.

Personality: She has let the fact of being the first artificially created ship girl go very much to her head. She has developed a strong spoiled streak and rebellious attitude, looking down on the other ship girls and thumbing her nose at them, calling them obsolete due to them using older model Outfits where as hers is made specially for her. Despite her spoiled attitude she still takes her job seriously and swears allegiance to Xcom, almost to the point of obsession at times. Sometimes even a small part of her wished that Xcom would replace the obsolete nations of the world because at the very least XCOM always gets results while the other nations fetter around with politics.


Bio: Originally a pilot for the Raven Interceptor fighter craft used by X-com, Levi was a good pilot who along with several others engaged a small flight of several alien UFOs in the Indian ocean, only to be attacked from below by Abyss ships. The broken and flaming wreck that had once been her fighter crashed into the ocean and she ended up getting spinal damage from that failed mission. After being recovered by a rescue team, her body floating in the ocean, she was taken to an Xcom research facility where they made her an offer after some surgery. The offer was that she could either get an honorable discharge and go home a hero with full benefits (which from Xcom meant she wouldn't have to work another day in her life.) or, she could sign up to risk her life on an experimental procedure to turn her into a ship girl.

The experiment carried with it the risk to paralyze her completely, rendering her like a vegetable for the rest of her life, or completely repairing all the damage done to her spine and turning her into the first artificial ship girl. She didn't even wait for them to finish before she signed on the dotted line with what little strength she had at the moment.

After a full 14 hour surgery the process was a success and she had become a Ship Girl, able to take blows that would vaporize most humans and survive depths and heights that would kill unaugmented people. After a month of intense physical therapy and daily visits to the healing tanks she was ready to go and combat aliens with the new equipment granted to her by xcom.

Personality: Ari is generally quiet, and reserved. Yet she can be very warm, and motherly to those she cares about. A hard worker, and has a strong sense of Duty.

Bio: When XCOM came to her, This young woman was very surprised to find out that she inhertiate the soul of the Naval Battleship, Arizona. She heard of these "Fleet Girls" in history classes, but never dreamed that she was one of them. It was this time that her mother revealed that she was indeed, Arizona's great, great, great grand-Daughter.

At first Arizona didn't want to do it. She wanted a nice quiet life. However, thinking it over. She realizes that she has been given a great gift. A gift she could use to protect those that she cared about. So she agreed to Help XCOM with their fight against the Abyssal Fleet.

Name: Datu Sikatuna (aka Maria De Guzman)

Allegiance: Philippines, U. N. and eventually to XCOM
Personality: Sika tends to be shy and hard at expressing herself toward others.  She is however a very optimistic person, seeing only the good in all things whether situations or people.  She however thinks the Abysmal Fleet is dangerous threat to the world and that she’ll do everything in her power to help in putting a stop to them.
Bio: The Philippine Navy was defunct and all but in name only long before the Abysmal Fleet declared war on humanity’s oceans, but it was through that incident that it would make its own contributions, although minimal but contributions nonetheless, to the world’s survival against the otherworldly menace.  Its own Fleet Girls. 

Maria De Guzman was one of the few candidates that made it to the Philippine’s Fleet Girl Program and was designated as “Datu Sikatuna” - a Cannon-Class Destroyer that was formally known as the U.S.S. Amick that was transferred to the Philippine Navy after World War II.  She goes by the name Sika when not being formal.

Like many Destroyer-Class Fleet Girls, when they transform to their warship avatar forms, Sika carries a smokestack-like backpack.  Flanking at either side of her hips is a miniature replica of an Mk 1 Twin L/60 Bofors 40 mm gun for anti-air targets.  On her right hand she holds an Mk 22 dual purpose gun while strapped on her left arm is a 3xMk 15 torpedo tube launcher.  Finally, on both sides of her lower legs are Mk 6 depth charge projectors each holding four depth charges, to be used against underwater enemies.

Personality: Howe has a quirky personality at best....and a twisted one at worst. She is much as her appearance would suggest rather charming and even "Prince-like" when it comes to social affairs or anything that could effect the reputation of her home country however when she isn't trying to up hold Britain's image she is a rather fun loving and friendly girl with a bit of a trigger finger. Under that though she can also be rather cunning and cynical.

Biography: She didn't have much of a childhood considering that she was known from birth to possess the spirit of HMS Howe and was thus sent to the Royal Naval Academy where she was trained by the Admiralty itself in all matters of tactics, discipline, and dignity. She is among the top of her class and holds her country in the highest esteem. Her opinion of "Fleet Girls" from the united states of America is that they are equals and should be treated with the utmost respect however she is much less kind to "Fleet Girls" of the British colonies believing that they are of a lower class and should respect those who hail from the King Country. Furthermore she has a healthy respect for Japanese and German "Fleet Girls" considering the troubles that they gave the British in the past.

She has come to the XCOM base solely because the Crown ordered her to do so and frankly believes that XCOM should simply shove off because they are just "Some Upstarts with too much time on their hands" According to the First Lord Admiral. The only other reason is that they will receive a pay bonus to send back to her family.

Also if you want more ways for her to insult Xcom they also heavily border on being nothing more than mercenaries since they are actually paid by the countries they save/protect. I like to compare them almost to the French Foreign Legion to give some reference.

Personality: Musashi can come off as Brash, but it is because she very nervous about in inheriting the Title of "Musashi". Deep down, she is a very caring person. (WIP, may Change)

Bio: Musashi was originally named Yuki Shinohara, and grew up in a small coastal Japanese village. She, and her family had no idea that she was the descendant of "The" Musashi. When the Japanese government came, and pretty much ordered Yuki to duty. Not surprisingly she was scared, and reluctant. She was from a quiet family, and she had no dreams of grandeur. She decided to do this cause she knew that she could help protect her friends, and family.

Personality: Kind and caring, she hates the idea of fighting but she can’t stand the sight of others being hurt because of doing nothing when she can do something to help. She views herself more as a protector or guardian more than a fighter or soldier. For her keeping innocents and her allies safe comes first the enemy and mission second. She has no problem with putting herself in harm’s way to protect others with little regards to her own safety.

Bio: Growing up in a church sponsored orphanage REDACTED decided early on that that she was going to work for the betterment of others. She had been planning on either assisting the orphanage or working with a charity. Fate had other plans for her however and it was discovered that she’d inherited the spirit of the Saratoga. She balked at the first mention of going out to fight but the idea of doing nothing when others needed help burned at her and she decided in the end to accept her role as defender of the people even if she hated the idea of fighting.

Personality: A tough girl with a very forward personality. She loves a good fight and can always be found in the thick of things although it can lead her to being reckless. She’s loyal to the team to a fault and will always stand up for them no matter what the situation.  The tough girl side of her however is often undermined by the fact that she’s weak to things such as teasing and is actually rather naïve.

Bio: REDACTED was excited when she discovered that she was a fleetgirl. For the longest time she had been raring to go and bring the fight to enemy. She went willing with the Japanese government and put her full focus into the training to become the best fighter she could be.  She’s ready for the chance to kick some ass with the positive side effect of protecting the world along the way.

Most Japanese subs after I-6 were able to carry air craft but the I-400's were designed to carry more air craft than most. Then again The I-400's were also originally designed strictly for the purpose of gathering information on enemy formations they also stored enough torpedoes to do combat if needed but that was not their primary function.....IF I recall correctly.

Personality: A softly-spoken and quiet girl, but a real sweetheart. She can sometimes pull a big surprise out of nowhere, with the right impetus.

Bio: To most people in her home town, Holly King was a fairly unremarkable girl, though a rather pretty, bookish girl; to others, they point fingers at her behind her back, murmuring about her spacey late teenaged years and sunken bloodshot eyes, speculating she was a druggie.

The truth was much different. What plagued Holly was not narcotics, but nightmares; terrible, vivid nightmares of burning heat and the screaming of tearing steel and dying men. All her parents attempts at getting her counseling failed, until one day, when quite by chance, the truth was revealed.

18 year old Holly King, was reliving a past life, a past life where she was none other than HMS Hood. Those terrible nightmares she had been suffering from were recollections of that fatal day in May 1941, where Hood and Prince of Wales had battled Prinz Eugen and Bismarck.

It took her a long time, but eventually, she was able to finally lay those ghosts of the past to rest. But the cat was out of the bag now, and the reborn HMS Hood was soon serving her country once more.

Personality: Suzu is a normally fairly even tempered kind of girl, but she has a wild streak when she's riled up. She's also fiercely loyal to those around her and wishes to protect them.
Bio: Growing up in the post Abyssal world was not exactly kind for Suzu. Her parents died in a car accident when she was very young. Without any close relatives to take her in she was sent to orphanage to live. Orphanage life wasn't so kind to her either. The matron was mean bitter old woman ironicly named Gertrude the Kind, who treated the kids there with disdain. Suzu in particular seemed to earn her ire more than any of the others largely because she was the granddaughter of a ship girl. After awhile of living there she couldn't take it anymore. After throwing a bowl of food back at the matron she went to bed hungry. It would be the first of many from that point on. The next morning they found Suzu's window wrench open and no Suzu. She had run away and she was only twelve. 

So she spent the whole of the time living on the streets and growing up most times with an empty belly as her only comfort during the long cold nights. Living on the streets taught Suzu to be independent, but it also taught her the value of having others was important. As a newbie growing on the streets she was picked on and bullied for being so little but she stood her ground. After all being ship girl meant you were a fighter. Yet despite the beatings Suzu never caved to them. Then one day after the beatings had stopped someone came up and picked her up and carried her away. When Suzu awoke she was being tended by another girl. She said she would take care of Suzu till she was old enough to stand on her own. She was different than Suzu, she had been born and lived on the streets her whole life. She taught Suzu the ropes on how to live on the streets. She was slightly older than Suzu, but she always said that she would be Suzu's big sister no matter what. It was for awhile a happy time for her. Her new "big sister" Ayano stuck by each other through thick and thin. Suzu learned kindness and compassion from Ayano. However her time was not to last. One evening they were looking for some food and found a good stash. A group of bullies then jumped them for their food. Ayano shoved Suzu into a safety hole before she was caught. There was no mercy for her. They beat her, far more than any other group. It would have been fine but she fought back until one of them pulled a knife and stabbed her several times. After that they ran off with the food. Suzu crawled out of her hidey hole and over to Ayano's broken body. She smiled up at Suzu and asked if she was alright. Susu through tear stained eyes nodded she was. "That's good...I'm glad." she said to her with a soft smile. "Nee-sama are you alright?" she said through tears. "It's...fine. I'm...alright." she said weezing pretty hard by now. Even for as young as she was Suzu could tell that Ayano was not going to be alright. "No you're not! You need help!" she said as Ayano gripped her. "I'm...fine. I know....I'll be fine. Because...my...heavy cruiser...is alright. And that means....much to me." she said. Suzu continued to cry while holding her hand. "I...want...you to...do something...for me?" she said to her. "Anything you name it!" she said. "Be...the...best....ship...you..can....be." she said breath leaving her lips forever. Suzu knew what had happened. She cried oh how she cried. This was the second biggest loss of her life. She had lost her big sister Ayano. She was only sixteen. With her big sister gone Suzu sat and wept for what seemed like hours and then days. It was during one of these fits that her life would change.

She was sitting alone in an alleyway crying once more after a beating she had taken from the thugs when it had begun to rain. The world seemed to agree with her mood. She didn't care much right now, the hurt and the loss of someone so close to her made her feel dead inside. Then all of suddenly the rain stopped falling on her. She could still hear it around her pattering the ground but it wasn't on her. Finally curious enough she looked up and noticed a man was holding an umbrella over her head shielding her from the rain. "Who are you?" she asked wondering what this man wanted from her. "Are you Heavy Cruiser Shizuka "Suzuya" Sumeragi?" he asked her. That seemed to shock her, no one had ever addressed her like that before. She finally wiped her eyes only to realize the man was wearing a white naval uniform. "I...I...am!" she said. He smiled at her nodding his head. "I have been looking for you, Heavy Cruiser Suzuya. I'd like you to join my fleet." he said to her. Suzu's eyes went wide when he said that. She then looked to his shoulders and noticed his rank. He was an ADMIRAL! "We've been looking all over for you." he said to her. "You have? Why? Who!" she said. "I and the fleet girls have been. For many years now actually." he said to her. It was like a dream come true it was. Ayano's words rung true in her ears once more. "Be...the...best....ship...you..can....be". Suzu couldn't believe it. "Will you join my fleet?" he asked her honestly and sincerely. Suzu's vision blurred as she heard those notes in his voice. Fresh tears flowed from her eyes as she leapt up and embraced him. "Yes! Yes! I'll join!" she said to him. As she held him she looked up to see the ran had stopped and just a small break in the clouds occurred showing a shaft of light. "I'll make good on that promise one-sama, kaa-san, tou-sa. I'll make you all proud of me." she thought as she entered the academy itself. So she entered the fleet girl academy and found her dream. That was two years ago. Suzu has proven to be nothing short of a fighter and a survivor.

well for me I've added an image for Howe's battle gear using the "Warship Girls" HMS Prince of Wales though I will note that the weapons pack actually has one turret (Two guns) too many for her class. As for Music I'm still thinking about something that I think would work.
