I've been tossing this idea round for a while. I take great inspiration from anime for this one, and so I imagine that it will feel and look like an anime in roleplaying format, at least to some degree. The premise is rather simple: humans get their hands on a very old form of magic that allows them to bind angels and demons to their will. It would fit nicely into the harem genre, as the human characters would probably bind multiple angels and demons. Those bound would then be used selfishly by many humans, some who see to use them to gain power over others, and some with intentions of global conquest. Others may try to stop them, selfish or not. If you must know which anime series I draw from for this think: Fullmetal Alchemist and Heaven's Lost Property, if those angeloids were summoned and bound by the alchemy in FMA.

So that's the short version. Here's the long version:

On December 22nd, 2015, an anonymous individual posted a short blog on the internet detailing his findings of an ancient form of magic. It was a series of symbols that, when activated properly, supposedly had magical powers that could perform wondrous miracles and could also have devastating effects. Only a handful of people ever saw it though, as a few seconds after it was posted, the entire website disappeared without a trace. Only some of the most basic pieces of the ancient magical text was ever exposed to most, and even a smaller group actually decided to save the information. Smaller yet, was a group who decided to give it a shot.

The magic was used for a lot of things, but most of the information posted on the site before its shut-down was quite a bit about magical summoning circles. These circles, when drawn properly and exposed to the right rituals, would summon and bind a powerful supernatural being--an angel or a demon--to the caster. The power of that being would vary depending on the size of the circle and the symbols drawn into it. The angels are divine warriors of heaven, wielding light magic and all kinds of power born unto them. The demons are dark creatures, and sometimes less human and more animal, wielding magics and powers of fire and darkness. They are at war with each other on another plane of existence, and hate each other to their cores.

When they are summoned and bound, they may not always accept their new masters. Some may despise them. But the magic that binds them keeps them from directly attacking them, and from disobeying them. IT physically pushes and forces them to do as they are told while also toying with their minds, making them slowly more willing to submit. They also lose their supernatural form, their power being degraded and limited by a new mortal body. Only three things can break the bind: If the binder, their master dies. If their new mortal form dies. Or, if their new master whispers into their ears the magical spell intended to free them.

While everyone surely has their own purposes and uses for the bound angels and demons, some have decided to use their supernatural powers in combat, attacking others, or even governments, taking control for themselves. Others intend to wage a holy war against the world with them, zealously killing all who don't join their cause. Some use their bound angels and demons to empower the weak, and defend against these attacks. But unbeknownst to them all, the binding of angels and demons has not gone unnoticed on the supernatural plane. Powerful forces are at work to make an appearance on Earth to end this nonsense and reclaim their stolen soldiers, and to conquer Earth in the process.

The rp would start just as the first angels and demons are being summoned by humans. As you might guess, there are three potential character types: Humans, Angels, and Demons. So I'll throw up a basic character sheet, and if you want to join, fill it out to your heart's content. Multiple characters will be allowed. Some may die off but not as a kink, as a part of the plot and the story! This is not intended to be an Extreme rp, so let's not make it one!

Character Sheet:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Name:
Gender/Sex:
Species: (Angel, Demon, or Human. You'll be able to get more specific in the description)
Master: (You may choose another human character, your own character. "Free" angels and demons will not come until later on. Humans need not fill this section.)
Binds: (List any angels and demons bound to the human, include both your characters and others')
Description: (Please do not overpower your character. The first of the angels and demons will not be that powerful, and humans will not start off knowing how to summon more powerful ones.)

Bookmarked, though I do have some inquiries.

Can the soul binding be form of a 'contract' for certain demons or angels? Such as, when their mission is complete they may return to their own plane to be summoned by a new master; if applicable?  Or at the very least 'stronger' demons/angels may have their own course of rules for mortals wishing to use them?

Also if a demon/angel dies, can they be re-summoned later by another person and/or the same individual?

1st Q: The discovered magic is incredibly powerful in that it doesn't require any deals be made, it just requires a certain degree of knowledge of the summoning and will power of the summoner. Other forms of magic would still exist, though it is much less well-known, or at least much less commonly used. Traditional crossroad deals and such (like the Supernatural universe) can still exist, but I don't want to take the focus away from this primary summoning spell. I want all human characters to start out with one of those until the rp has had a chance to develop a little bit.

There would however be a case of humans summoning angels and demons whose power is way over their heads wanting to bargain, lest that angel or demon's will never completely breaks, and they come after the summoner once the bond is broken. The deal would be to voluntarily release the summoned entity after a certain job is done, and perhaps to even make some form of other payment for their services.

2nd Q: I'm not sure how it should work after the initial bond is broken by death. I don't see why not, but I could think of ways that the angels or demons, or other humans could prevent it from happening.

I will note that Heaven and Hell, or at least some form of them or other afterlives will exist in this. Even if a human character dies, their soul will still go somewhere, and then the tables will be turned and they will be at the mercy of angels and demons in the supernatural planes.

Interested. This kinda reminds me of the Fate series. :o

Haven't seen or heard of it. Can I get a link, possibly for some inspiration? :)

Umm... They summon and bind angels and demons to their will and use them for personal game or sex or whatever.

ame:  Maeve Harrison
Gender/Sex: F
Species: Human
Master: N/A
Binds: None Yet
Description: As her father died when she was three, Maeve lived for years alone with her mother for most of her  life. She always followed the rules. She always made do with what little she had. She always helped at the diner, waiting tables, balancing the books, and whatever else she had to do so that she and her mother could eke off some sort of living. She never stood out, never excelled at anything, never had any close friends - she just did her best and hoped it was enough.

But on December 2, Maeve was looking through the internet, regretting all the things she could not afford to buy her mother for Christmas yet again, when she stumbled across the site. She managed to save what she could of the rituals, somewhat skeptical but not really in a position to refuse this kind of chance. And although she doesn't realize it, now at a point where her life is going to change drastically - perhaps for the better or perhaps for the worse.

Maeve is twenty-five years old. She has brown hair which she wears up and brown eyes. She stands five foot seen and weighs 120 pounds. She has a moderate frame. Maeve tends to be quiet and passive as most people don't pay a lot of attention to her. She has just learned the power of summoning and doesn't really have an understanding to what it means yet.

#16
Name: Ithuriel
Gender/Sex: Male
Species: Angel
Master: Will be added if there's a female human character willing to be Ithuriel's master (or mistress, I suppose).
Binds: N/A
Description: Ithuriel ("discovery of God" or "a great golden crown") is the name of a being mentioned in the writings of the Kabbala and in 16th century conjuring books. He is one of the three Sarim (princes) of the holy sefiroth serving under the ethnarchy of the angel Sephuriron. In particular, he is a Sarim of Geburah, one of the Holy Sephira of the Tree of Life. He is also mentioned in The Greater Key of Solomon as an angel of the first pentacle of Mars. He also works under the authority of Gabriel along with the angels Yekon, Zephon and Abdiel.

He wields either a holy golden sword, or a spear, being able to conjure either at will. Ithuriel's spear has the ability to expose deceit, falsehoods and illusions with the slightest of touches, whilst he himself can manipulate the elements of fire and water. Being skilled at revealing truth, Ithuriel is likewise talented at hiding it, and disguising himself, and taking upon other forms. He was one of the angels commissioned by Gabriel to search for Satan, who had effected his entrance into Paradise, being accompanied by Zephon. His name has turned up in numerous works of literature, including Paradise Lost.

Ithuriel is intelligent, thoughtful, subtle and highly perceptive. At times he is charismatic, dramatic and perhaps flamboyant, and at others, quiet and shy, spending most of his time as he has in heaven. Being one of the lesser known angels, he likewise is not called upon anywhere near as much as the ones like Gabriel, Michael and Uriel. Thus, he does not possess as much experience in the mortal world, having been there only sporadically in different points of history. He tends to be uncomfortable around women, especially mortal ones. Nonetheless, it is something another angel, Anael, has, and often does tease him about. He also possesses a certain degree of arrogance, usually, due to his rank as a Sarim, whilst also being somewhat calculating and ambitious. Nonetheless, he is aware of the bigger picture, and tends to avoid ending up in situations where he is worse off than he began. Accordingly, he was amongst those who remained on the side of Heaven during the Fall. Being associated with Mars, he has a certain taste for battle and war, which is backed up by his skill in such an area. Though when not in battle, Ithuriel can display surprising kindness, considering some other facets of his personality. He bears a grudge against Astaroth. On another note, he may be a closet masochist, as well as something of a tsundere.

Among a few others, he was summoned by Aleister Crowley, serving him as a Holy Guardian Angel. Accordingly, in the infamous black occultist's diaries and texts, he was referred to as 'Ithuriel the Strong'.  Mentioned in multiple sources, like his diaries in Tunisia, 1923, and Crowley's Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli Adumbratio Kabbalæ Ægyptiorum sub figurâ VII.

A interesting question that has just come to mind in my weird little head. Could the humans be halflings. Like half human, half angel/demon?

I would prefer you didn't. It wouldn't be completely strange to think that they could intermingle and breed with each other to produce half-angels and demons, but to have characters start out like that, it leans on the OP side of things.

Name:

Gender/Sex:

Species:

Master:

Binds:
Female. If male, don't expect 'intimacy.'
Description:
Daughter of Beleth(also spelled Bilet, Bileth and Byleth is a mighty and terrible king of Hell, who has eighty-five legions of demons under his command) she takes well after her dearest father. She is a despicable Princess, loathed and feared by her serfs and further despised by other members of nobility within Hell. Just like her father, she carries on a fierce appearance and reputation, battle-born the day she was raised and brought into upbringing within Hell. Appearances alone she is intimidating, she stands at a height of six feet and seven inches, her body is toned with muscle, and her physical strength rivals that of demonic Behemoths within Hell. She is far from the image of a meek Princess or noblewoman as some demonesses share.

Her arsenal is generally her body alone given her high physique and endurance to take a beating and dish one back out tenfold. She is well verse in swordplay, often seen wielding a greatsword within hell in a single hand due to her strength. She has dabbled in the use of magick, although for her it is alone the lines of 'blood magic.' Neesha can summon a demonic entity through sacrifices, mostly from her victims for the blood ritual. The creature itself is just as much as a monstrosity as she, and some often reference them as Hell Worms, modern world sometimes shows them as 'Tremors.'  The latter of which is no where near correct with her summoning as the foul beast is many entities merged into one, a gigantic worm with smaller living specimens upon its Hellish body. Neesha's 'pet; often serves as her personal mount within Hell. It is also believe she may be capable of summoning other specimens through 'blood magic' although she traditionally prefers her Hell Worms.

Her personality is as warped as she really is, it is what makes her despicable. As mentioned before, she is a Princess, and all Princesses must have their way, no? This can be said true is that she always gets what she wants, no matter what. She does not settle for less and is not afraid in making one's life miserable till she is properly satisfied. She is also sadistic, she enjoys torture above all else; but not the child-ish BDSM stuff that some demons do. No, Neesha is the type that will break bones, rip off fingernails, and disfigure a victim over and over again for laughs and giggles. Her ecstasy is seeing others around her in agony and at her mercy.  To put it bluntly, she is just sick, twisted, and psychopathic. Her royal status only intensifies those traits in her malicious persona.

Unfortunately, her soon to be reigned in Hell has been cut short when she was about to be presented a birthday gift of her own legions of demons to command. A botched summoning has brought her to the modern world and due to the lack of know how from her foolish summoner, her body and abilities have been greatly critical of what she was once truly capable of.

I'm going to address both of you now...

You shouldn't be making characters who are rulers or princesses or lords, or anything that has command over armies. It doesn't matter how much they get conveniently weakened before the rp starts, I said that they should be weaker, so that later on, there's room for the more powerful ones to appear. This is supposed to start with humans just starting to understand the basics of the magic and the summoning. They simply shouldn't be able to bind more powerful angels and demons like the ones you want to bring in.
