Wrath of the Dragonkin

The world is wild and barely controlled. Ouside of a handful of large settlements humanity live in small pockets of civilization. One of the settlements is the fortress city of Tarnegar, but although it appears safe from outside threat the real danger of the city lies within.

It is ruled by a tyrant, King Myraz, who has ruled for longer than any of his subjects have lived. His unnatural livespan stems from a dragonkin artefact, stolen a century and a half before from the king of Dragonblight himself, Stormrider. With the power the king wields it seems none can oppose him.

There are a handful intent on stopping Myraz however. Your father believes, if Stormrider could be contacted, that he may aid you in retrieving the artefact and defeating Myraz once and for all. The journey is treacherous but Myraz's men are preparing to move against your father.

The greatest adventure of your life lies ahead, but with miles of hostile country between you and Dragonblight can you live long enough to seek the aid of a race that hates humans?

This is a fantasy world, full of elves, orcs, dragons etc. but your character is human. I have no preference as to whether your character is male or female (only restriction is they have to be related to the character the RP starts with).

not necessarily, they could be friends or one of the slightly more...wild humans who live outside the city

I'm interested and in need of an active role-play. :) So, do you need any specific character right now? Or should I just make a character and randomly pop him/her in?

Well you could be the sister of Jorn (which would make you my character's daughter lol). read the RP (which has the same name as this) and see what you think, you can always post a character outline on here first so I can give you any advice if its needed :)

So, I'd be human yes? And okie, I was kind of hoping you'd say that! ^.^ I'll get right on it! Would I have to look exactly like both of you though, or could I look like their mother? If so, what does their mother look like? (Hair color, complexion, eye color, etc.)  :-) Also, what kind of profession should I be focused on, just the blacksmithing?

maybe a mix of the two. I imagined the mother had long black hair and blue eyes, but its up to you what she looks like. Profession doesn't necessarily have to be blacksmithing related, the only rule is this is the equivalent of the medieval era so the jobs and technology can't be too fancy, if that make sense

Oh okie then! She sounds utterly beautiful, the mother that is. :-) I'll try and post as soon as possible. one more question though, is it ok if she is a bit independent? She would cook and sew clothing of course, but also work with her father from time to time, that sort of thing. Would that be acceptable?

That's fine. considering he's about to send you into a wilderness full of creatures intent on killing you the more independent the better probably lol

I should say not all the creatures want to kill you. There are a few elves and humans who might help you, but there is a point where its all hostile creatures pretty much lol

you may not necessarily have to fight them...but they do make an appearance. Especially Stormrider (basically the king of the dragons. and probably the only person who hates the king MORE than the people in the city do lol)

don't worry sexhaver, I wasn't planning on leaving you behind  :-) been in RP's before where I've been left behind because they got so into the RP that they've forgotten to make sure everyone is following the story properly. besides, one post a day is still a better rate than some of my RPs lol

If he hasn't claimed revenge yet on his own, there must be something blocking him from doing so. Perhaps he still believes the human army to be extremely powerful, and we can feed him the information on the city's defenses that he'll need to plan a surgical strike on the castle where Myraz is living. We just have to hope he doesn't decide to exterminate or enslave every human in Tarnegar while he's at it.

Meanies indeed. I'm guessing that not very many people actually view the non-adult section. Those who are approved would be distracted by numerous more attractive games in the adult sections, and those who are not approved are mostly just killing time for a week to wait until approval or rejection, so there's no reason for them to get involved in a non-adult game. I imagine most of those who are denied would just go away, rather than stick around to rp like I'm doing.

An invisibility cloak? Wow, this thing just got a whole lot easier! If we have to run away from a tough battle, we can run behind some bushes and hide under that cloak. Or Lili can use it to snipe the monsters while they chase Jorn in circles around the tree she's camped in :D

that's a really good picture. I had thought of it as being red but I suppose green is a more logical colour for Dragonsblood lol

Annoys Piri you mean? If so that's fine. Also about magic, would it be fine if in this universe Elves were gifted with Magic, as in they were born with it. Humans could still become magicians but it was rarer in their species?
I ask this because I'd like my elf character (Eris Dresdon) to unable to control his magic very well and have it always go wrong on him. Mainly because his erratic personality doesn't mesh well with the concentration needed to use higher level magic.

No, Piri is about to take her leave from the story, an Elven ranger called Anneke is about to make her entrance (the figure in the treeline mentioned in my most recent post in the RP). I had assumed Elves were either born with magical skills or learnt them from an early age, and in fact that humans were one of the few races with very few with magical skills.
I like the sound of your idea for your character, better than the usual slightly straight-laced, "perfect" elf

Essentially, going North you find humans and a few elves, orcs, trolls...and then between the trolls and the dragons are creatures older and nastier than humans have seen in a long while lol
