Hey everyone,

I'm interested. Just wanted to run the characters I have past everyone to make sure they are okay.

Character 1:

A Member of Drug Cartel in New York, linked with drug cartels from Mexico.

Character 2:

A DEA agent based in New York, investigating Character 1 and finds out that he frequents Ambrosia

Heya,

I think these are both potentially workable however the drug cartel member is going to have to be kept fairly toned down. Don't make him a hitman/murderer. More of a connections-guy, dealer, that sort of thing can work. Also character 2 may be slightly hard to connect - normally with characters investigating others I'd suggest trying to get someone else to write one of them so that there's scope for the two to interact and you're not jsut writing with yourself. That said if you want to do it you are welcome to.

So yeah the drug cartel member won't be a hitman or a murder. He's purely in the business of moving the product.

As for the investigator, the idea behind him was he would interact with characters trying to find out about the cartel member. The story around them would be more of them not ever meeting but the situations that the two characters might put other characters into. So the cartel member paying extra for someone to lie about him to the DEA agent. Or the DEA agent asking questions that put others into awkward situations as I'm assuming they are meant to keep stuff very confidential.

I think the only real struggle is why Maeve wouldn't throw the cartel member out as soon as they caused questions to be asked and why she wouldn't instantly lawyer up in the face of a DEA agent. Any investigation would probably have to be more along the lines of subtlety and carefulness vs. trying to interrogate anyone. I think it could work if it's more just 1-2 escorts who know that he's a cartel member vs. it being wider information known to Ambrosia as a whole or Maeve. Approached that way, though, I think it can work.

Not trying to step on anything and I'm open to seeing how it's handled. There's definitely a way to do it and bring some interesting tension/drama.

Rachel grew up in California in an average household in the San Gabriel Valley.  She was very smart but lacked much stability in her life.  Since her parents were divorced, she lacked a good role model and was never all that good at relationships.  She was good with computers though, and put all of her energy into that.

Rachel was way too young when she became a millionaire.  She hadn't even gotten to Senior year of UCLA when she sold her app to a tech giant for millions.  For a while, it looked like she was going to be the next big tech guru.  The pressure though, was all too much for her.  She suffered failing venture after failing venture never being able to live up to her potential.  These days, she's all but given up, knowing she peaked five years ago and now has nothing to show for it besides the millions of dollars from her first venture.  It hasn't helped that she hasn't had a solid relationship since college either.

After trying pretty much everything else, she's gotten desperate. Somehow it's gotten in her mind that if she can find a way to really relax, she'll finally get her next big idea.  That's why she sought out Ambrosia, seeing the extravagant expense as an investment in her future.  Hopefully she has enough of her left over funds to get inspiration before she goes broke.

Hi,

Not sure what happened here - CS seems halfway complete? Either way CS's need to be sent to me via PM. What's there so far seems workable though so do please feel free to keep working on her.

evilnerf

Yeah, I just wanted to save it halfway through and I figured that was a good way to do it.

Gotcha, makes sense, no problem!

Sounds good - security would be welcome! We have a security manager but I'm sure some staff would be appreciated.

BlueOrange

Indeed, I’d love for MC Rachel (the security manager) to have people to work with, and I’ve been curious about you as a writer too.

The game is launching at the moment, you can find Rachel in the approved characters thread: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=334934.msg15938056#msg15938056

My favorite sexual orientation so far is “Disaster lesbian” :)

The cast is looking genuinely diverse, which is awesome. And I see now that Ambrosia’s HQ is truly a marvelous building. It’s not that we have about 30 holodeck suites…. It’s just that we have about 30 holodeck suites ;)

I think the security function is going to be an interesting writing challenge. On the one hand, we have OOC rules than mean things can’t really go wrong. On the other hand, ICly, Rachel is terrified of all the terrible things that might happen, and is constantly fighting to prevent them.

But it shouldn’t be boring. We’ve got a staff member who definitely values being protected, and a client who is definitely activating the danger sense.

It’s your character, you mischievous writer, you!

Actually, I think you meant my character.  My character was also named Rachel at first because I didn't realize that the name was taken.  She's Julia Candor now.

Do you prefer an escort or a client character? I mean in terms of ratio of the CS you already have?

Depends a bit on gender. I think. We have a reasonable split between escorts, staff and clients.

The CS thread is up here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=334934.0

So you can have a look at the already-approved characters.

There is a short list of things I'd love to see in the first post of this thread but I'd just go with what you'd be most excited to write as a priority.

TheGrandAdmiral

I think I will go with female client, played by Gal Gadot.
