Guh, there's a typhoon over here and it's killing my internet.  I'll probably get my character up by tomorrow if this keeps up.

Probably a good idea considering myself and Rhaeger seem to be going at it a bit over the whole affair lol.  As for the typhoon, hopefully you'll be on tomorrow without anyone getting hurt or anything like that.

And the monk's name I was trying to figure out earlier?  It was Danica Bonaduce.

Wintercat

Lots of posts going on between a few people. Well, still looking forward to the characters. Also, a valid concern was recently brought up if this is sliding from the plots to a glorified opportunity for Dom/sub pairing.

While I believe that naughty roleplay should be given a chance, I also think its upto the players to decide whether they want to pursue that (and possibly make up side-threads at some point for it) or to play out a plot involving the characters.

Characters with conflict within them are already becoming a part of the world and offering hooks to tie in with. Vergil made a vampire with a vengeance in mind for a heroine, which could turn rather bloody too at that.

A character like say, a Holy Inquisitor might be out to truely purge the evil with fire and steel, trying to 'end' monsters rather than gain dominance over them.

I'm considering the option of having monsters 'resurrected' at Dungeon Heart if they actually fell, at least the 'bosses' of monsters, not the NPCs, and perhaps the heroes on the other hand, if brought out of the dungeon by their companions, could be resurrected back in the kingdom above.

That does give the monsters a homefield advantage in the dungeon, but who is to say that it all takes place in the dungeon? Monsters could also become impatient and rise up to roam the countryside, only to face the heroes above at the surface, and on their terms, dangerously.
I've taken the Oath of The Drake. Remind me of it if you think I act against it.

That sounds like a reasonable way to go Wintercat and I totally agree with the idea of taking the fight to the surface should we get that far from time to time.  There's no way I'd sit around on my butt and wait for destruction to fall on my head if I could strike the first blow lol.  Even so, I'm looking forward to see where things go from here as well but I'm probably going to head out here soon since it's 1;40 in the morning just about and I have surgery coming up on the 4th so I'll be gone for most of that day if not the whole day.  I'll be in and out so it won't be anything lasting, just I'll most likely be out of it for the day lol.  Just wanted to let ya know ahead of time though.

Name:  Prince Kassad
Race:  Serpent folk, Cobra type
Class:  Eastern Knight (focus on special moves such as disarms instead of brute force)
Best Ability:  Swordsmanship, acrobatics, with a racial couple of bonuses on charm and dominate spells.
Least Ability: fighting with anything other than swords (specialist), healing, Elemental magics, non magical persuasion.

Gender:  Male
Preference: bi doninant
Ons:  o/o
Offs:  no defication, bloodletting in bed etc, such things are not sexy.

Appearance: A cobra headed humanoid with red scales black markings and orange eyes, Kassad normally wears a magical breastplate made of fine steel, carrying himself with a professional air and royal confidance. as the son, albiet distant, of the Sultan of Katapesh, he wears the symbol of the royal dinasty draped about his neck. Black knee high boots, a frontal tabbard with royal symbol hanging down, gauntlets, and a white scarf along his neck that can be pulled up to prevent sunstroke.
Background:  77th son of the Sultan of Katapesh heir to the empire of Kata, now a tribune of the Grand Raja of the east. Kassad never knew his father's empire when it was a dark land, controlled by sorcerer kings, his grandfather the first sultan, bent knee before the humans of the east and west, saving their crumbling anchent empire from total distruction at the hands of the new generations of heroes.
Katapesh now thrives as a major trading hub between east and west, and the sultan's sons are expected to bring glory to it's name, help the city state carve a new chapter in their history.
or so they are told.
Kassad was chased out of the city by polotical wrangling among his brothers and sisters, prefering the way of tome and sword to politicking and spending days in a drug and sex induced haze. he has much experience in fighting, but little in actual interaction with humans outside the bedroom due to his people's natural domination abilities, thralls do as they are told and don't make for good conversation.
Well educated and well mannered, Kassad tries to put on the face he wants the people of the outside world to see of Katapesh, strong, brave, charming, and a bit exotic. He has never had to barter for anything in his life, and has a hard time wrangling with merchants.
Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...
debate any other aspect of my faith these are the heavenly virtues. this flawed mortal is going to try to adhere to them.

Culture: the ability to carve an intricate and beautiful bowl from the skull of a fallen enemy.
Civilization: the ability to put that psycho in prision for killing people.

Announcement on Game Arrangement: Vergil1989 has agreed to take up the co-dming on the Heroes side of this game, this game is still young and just starting but hopefully it will pick up interested people and become a pleasant playground for devious dungeon denizens and heroes both truly heroic and those just after gold and fame.

Depending on how this goes, it could be us 2 trying to guide this game along, or it could end up being a wider reach requiring more people working together as storytellers for this. For now, we two will try and help out with things.

You, [you], can go ahead and return to enjoying the game then.

Thanks a ton for the spot Wintercat and I'll do my damn best to keep this going with you.  Alright guys and gals, you heard the man, get your profiles up front and center ASAP!  Let's move, move, move, move!  Lol, couldn't resist.  Anyway, anything and everything in the fantastical range is more than acceptable, but if demonic or monstrous please have a good reason why you are a hero rather than working with your darker brethren.  Thanks and good luck to you all.

Well Snake, you're in the wrong thread then since this is for heroes only my friend.  If you mean a hero that's chaotic good or even neutral then it might work, but evil belongs with the rest of us monsters lol.

#35
Name: Quin Yeo
Race:  Human
Class:  Warrior
Best Ability:  Combat specialist, with a personal preference for hand-to-hand combat.
Least Ability:  Healing magic.

Gender:  Male
Preference:  Heterosexual, dominant.
Ons:  Rough play, strong personalities, mild bondage.
Offs:  Males, scat and vore.

Appearance:  Bred and trained since birth to be a fighter, he is nothing short of a tank: a fighting machine.  As far as humans go, he is quite hardy, powerful and agile, and he knows it. He does not describe himself as arrogant, he is simply confident in his abilities.  Quin is not a towering figure of power, he is only human after all.  Broad shouldered and lean, his build is more suited for speed and agility than raw strength.  His eyes, the color of hazel, are alert and clever.

He invests little in to his looks because despite his hedonistic nature, Quin is a simple man.  When he can, he prefers to wear light clothes for more mobility, and he is also usually bare foot.  Because he prefers close range combat, he needs to be agile when facing enemies with dangerous weapons.  His armor is usually very light, and he relies more on spells to protect him.

Background:  Quin comes from a very long line of warriors, all of which were bred for sole purpose of combat.  His father's family line started out as lookouts for a small farming settlement, and as the town grew and prospered, so did the need for proper training.  The family progressed to become a modest but talented and highly skilled group of fighters.  Now the Yeo family are some of the most sought after guards and warriors for hire in the surface world.

Traditionally the Yeo family is dutiful and fight for the side of good, but their fame and prestige have touched a few of the children in the later generations.  Quin is one of these children.  He seems to care little for discipline and is more hedonistic than his ancestors and teachers would like.  Lingering under the dutiful desire to protect others, there is a ghost of sadistic satisfaction when he falls an opponent with his bare hands.  His relatives worry, but apart from his foul mouth and violent habits, he is a skilled warrior and does get the job done, and he does it well.

Quin knows a good deal of protective spells and buffing spells, but his talent for healing is almost non-existent.
While he is coarse, lazy, and described as 'soft-headed' by his frustrated uncles, Quin actually has a very strong valid moral code.  He does indeed feel that he should help and protect those in need, but instead of a requirement of duty, he takes pleasure in it. Quin is driven by the need for self-satisfaction, and that may be his biggest weakness.

Prophets on the surface world are uneasy. There are whispers that the powers of darkness are stirring beneath their feet. Quin, curious and always hungry for new and exciting experiences, is paying close attention to these rumors.

IMPORTANT UPDATE as of October 6th 2016 in A/A page

Rhaegar14

Name: Edgar
Race:  Demon-Descended
Class: Darkslayer
Best Ability: Swordsmanship, Knife Throwing, Endurance, Devil Trigger.
Least Ability: Short-range bursts of speed.

Gender:  Male
Preference: Hetero
Ons: Reference O/O's.
Offs: Reference O/O's.

Appearance: Edgar is tall and slender, with fair skin, white that parts in the middle and goes down just past his ears, and icy blue eyes. He wears a long, green coat over layers of brown leather armor that are absolutely brimming with throwing knives. Slung over his back is a curved bastard sword with a slender but shockingly strong blade.

Edgar can embrace his demonic heritage for brief periods of time, gaining increased power and changing form. When he does, his skin is covered in blue-black scales, his mouth becomes wide and fanged, and his white hair turns into ivory horns jutting out from the sides of his head. His eyes gleam yellow, with no discernible sclera, iris, or pupil. Lastly, his coat and armor become scaly and almost organic, the former able to unfold from his body into bat-like wings.

Background: Edgar is the result of a union between a human and a half-demon. His father had taken his mother against her will, and from the day he was born, Edgar was hated for the unholy act he represented. From an early age, he was bullied and beaten by children older and larger than him, and was forced to learn to fight and take care of himself. He became quite adept at hitting people with a stick and throwing things at them. But then, one day, one of the children came at him with an actual weapon, a hatchet, while two others held him down. That had been the first day that, in a moment of desperation, he realized his heritage. Edgar turned into a demon, and in the span of a few seconds had beaten them all half to death before he went back to normal.

Not even his mother would accept him after that, so as a young teenager Edgar left his home, wandering. He soon found his calling in life, however, when he joined a mercenary company as a laborer for need of coin. He was meant to kill monsters. He derived a certain satisfaction from it, as if he were expressing his self-loathing for what he was. He gained renown during the crusades all those years ago, and now is an accomplished monster hunter, still young and fit from the demonic blood coursing through his veins.

/end shameless DMC-based original character. I may elaborate on this profile a bit later.
Pretty much scrapped my signature because everything in it is hilariously out of date. I might work on fixing that eventually.

Vergil1989

If you had a picture it isn't working, but beyond that it's AWESOME!  Giselle and Edgar would most certainly get along well together probably lol.

We need one more person to have a well rounded crew, but I think I might be able to get an IC up tonight with what we have if everyone's willing.  Will those approved please post their characters up in the character thread that's up already?  Thanks!

Black Howling

Still working on mine. Not use to working full time anymore, so it's taking a bit to get the energy to make the character. Still interested though.

Vergil1989

There's no rush Black Howling, so no worries.  And guys and gals, might I present to you the new Hero domain?  It'll have a similar albeit lighter set up as the dungeon half does in that there's plenty of rooms for a gym, library, and anything else we might need, just like the Dungeon does.  The castle is part of a fortified city is what I'm thinking of, surrounded by a large stone outer guard wall along with the usual castle defenses one would expect.  Murder holes, archer towers, etc etc as well as magical ones to boot that we can set up as we need to.  Anyway, here's the link and I hope you enjoy.  Wintercat, I'd recommend posting all the links on the first page of EVERY thread we have already since I plan to do so myself in due time, that way we have them all either in one place or all of them spread out across the threads.  For example, you'd post every link we have save for this one's own obviously, the OOC would have all of them save for the OOC link itself, etc etc.  Anyway, take it or leave it bud.

IMPORTANT UPDATE as of October 6th 2016 in A/A page

Syene

Name:  Luminita
Race:  Human
Class:  Holy Apostle
Best Ability:  Charisma
Least Ability:  Healing

Gender:  Female
Preference: Luminita presents herself as a holy virgin, but she's just discrete. Preferring male partners she can control and occasionally becoming involved with females, she's not excessively dominant, but neither is she submissive. See Ons and Offs for player preferences.
Ons:  see Ons and Offs
Offs:  bathroom play, permanent mutilation

Appearance:  A petite, blonde beauty in dressed in simple, white robes, Luminita appears every bit the holy leader she is widely believed to be. She eschews anything more expensive than a simple holy symbol and a staff strapped with iron bands. Looking no more than twenty, she has fair skin, bright, beautiful blue eyes and a generous smile. Even beneath her robes, it's clear she has a luscious, beautiful body.

Background:  Ten years ago, a young woman on the cusp of womanhood walked into the home of a minor lord with a dying son, her eyes alight with holy joy, and brought his son back from the brink of death, light shining around her like a halo as she worked. She refused his money, asking  him instead to give it to the local temple and let her speak there. She had a holy mission, she said, a mission to heal the ill and injured. There in that village, the nascent beginnings of a cult grew around her, a cult that revered her as the reincarnation of the lost Apostle Seraphiel. Since then, the girl has turned into a beautiful woman, been declared an Apostle herself, and is now an influential leader.

It's all a lie. When she walked into that village, she was an eighteen year old girl born in the slums of the capital city, a former whore with a talent for minor magic desperate to get out. She poisoned the noble's son, mimicking illness, so that she could be certain of healing him with the antidote as much as her weak magical abilities. Quite a lot of the money that enters the coffers of her holy mission never makes it to the poor. Someday, when she thinks she can't wring any more money from her followers or simply grows bored, she'll disappear. Until then, she's a beloved figure, protected and cosseted by all.

When she heard the rumors of treasure and gold in the dark dungeons beneath the Hero's Gate, she began to speak of truly ridding the world of monsters once and for all. She took her followers there to the city where the gate lay and has began blessing the missions of adventurers delving into the dungeon, encouraging them to offer what they find into her custody to support the holy mission of the church. Given how active a leader she's been, it does mean she has to face the unfortunate risks of delving into the dungeon herself from time to time, though it's a risk she considers worth taking considering the possible rewards...

Ramael

Name:  Kirrilim "The Raven Prince"
Race:   Human
Class:  Rogue/Shaman
Best Ability:  All-rounder
Least Ability:  Raw strength

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gender:  Male
Preference: Kir has a high and mighty view of himself, and outside his land's concubines, he has a strict selection process and sets his bar very high.
Ons:  see Ons and Offs
Offs:  bathroom play, permanent mutilation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Appearance: A cloaked, armoured man with an intimidating metal bird-mask. He appears to move with power yet remains lithe and quick on his feet. Behind his mask is an impressive mane of feathers, that apparantly can be used in some of the Raven Prince's strange rituals.

Weapons: Kir keeps a pair of fist claws (that he calls his "talons") ready at the flick of a wrist. He also has a short, curved sword at his waist, a knife in each boot and a throwing dagger close to his heart. In his pouches there are a few reagents for his shamanistic spells and rituals, if he ever finds himself in a tough spot. He also has a discretion crossbow tucked away should he need it.

Background: Kirrilim became a prince more by force than heritage. There isn't a strict ruling family where he comes from, but several competing families all vying for the same throne with just as much claim as everyone else. Everytime the Royal family is made anew, they restyle the throne in their image. In the case of Kirrilim's family, they have taken on avian-like metaphors.

Kirrilim isn't really the next in line, he's not really the prize heir. He has three older brothers all in line to be King after their father dies or steps down. To this end, Kir is the slightly rebellious of the family, having spent a lot of time with in the dingier ends of the kingdom, with various shady types. It was on one of these unsavoury sojourns that Kir stumbled upon a bandit clan, who upon closer inspection had their own totems of power and suchlike. Braving the stench for a few days longer, Kir found that this family initiated their own brand of magic through shamanism, and Kir wholeheartedly dived into such dealings. At first suspicious, but now delighted that a member of the Royal family (even an unlikely heir) was taking an interest in their lives, the normally savage bandit clan began to teach Kir most of what they knew, finding the young, broody man had an affinity for it.

Kir sees the lower depths as a way of generating a large fortune to bolster his standings in his Royal family. He sees it either as a reserve fund to use if and when one of his brothers ruins the Kingdom, or as a fund to recruit his own personal army from when the time is right.  He's also taking a high interest on any magic items that he finds below.

I think such a hero ought to be appreciated by other heroes, especially as the monsters below will have their 'home field advantage' there anyway, so heroes might very well -need- some help.

At least the monsters that stand out (monster players) can expect the dungeon heart's magic to heal and restore them when they get a chance to relax and rest in their lairs. Perhaps the Heroes home at the surface has some such help too, but down in the dungeons, heroes are vulnerable despite their strengths, so a support-build sounds like it would be good.

Though best see what Vergil thinks too!
