For chatter!  Players who have been removed can still chat here; just remember not to give anything away.

Well, I stalled a little in hopes of getting another player or two, but it looks like we'll go with eleven.  This means that we're very heavy on the special roles, which normally gives the advantage to the innocents, but the relatively high number of villains and the ever-so-slightly less powerful Spy role might help offset that advantage.  Basically, this is an experiment, though hopefully an enjoyable one for all.    ;D

Role PMs will be sent out sometime within the next few hours and then the plotting can commence!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled gif exchange.

Everyone should have a role PM now, and the main thread is open for business.  Enjoy!   ;D

Yeah, no one's dead yet.   Not even mostly dead.  ::)

Feel free to post about the day, mingle, formulate suspicions, etc.  To give everyone more of a chance to join in, I'll use a trick I've used previously and have a random NPC as the first night victim, instead of the usual night round.  Then the next morning will start with the lynch vote, and the following night all the nighttime roles will get their chance.  :)

Never one to break with tradition, he looked for someone who hadn't yet had any votes in hopes of provoking an eleven-way tie.
Just had to say it, didn't you?   :P

Generally, as soon as all votes are in, and I've had a chance to come over and tally them up to post the final results.  :)  Once in a while we'll have someone vanish for a while without voting, in which case I'll give several hours' notice and then end the voting at a particular time, but that's rare, thankfully.

I think everyone's been identified by now, but just to make it official:

Beguile's Mistress - Miracle Max
Dim Hon - Buttercup
Falanor - Fezzik
Geeklet - Vizzini
James Moriarty - Count Rugen (The Six-Fingered Man)
Josietta - The Impressive Clergyman
Kyrsa - The Albino
Leorobin - Prince Humperdinck
Remiel - Inigo Montoya
persephone325 - Westley
That Girl Analise - Florin Peasant

Summary:

Day One - That Girl Analise, a Florin Peasant, is lynched.

Night One - Geeklet (Vizzini the Spy) checks Kyrsa and discovers that she is a Villain.
Falanor (Fezzik the Giant) protects himself.
The Villains target persephone325, aka Westley.  This automatically activates Miracle Max's ability and both Westley and Buttercup are saved.

Day Two - Leorobin, aka Prince Humperdinck, is lynched.

Night Two - Geeklet checks persephone325 and learns that she is an Innocent.
Falanor protects Kyrsa.
The Villains target Beguile's Mistress, aka Miracle Max.
Remiel (Inigo the Spaniard) targets James Moriarty, aka Count Rugen, the Six-Fingered Man.  (;D)

Day Three - Kyrsa, aka The Albino, is lynched and the Innocents win the game.

Now, I knew the game was heavy on the special roles -- this was something of an experiment -- and lots of special roles traditionally makes things harder for the villains.  But looking over the summary it seems more like the villains just had all the bad luck and the innocents had all the good (though more people still would have been better, so if I run this setting again I'll try for fifteen people at least).  Thoughts?  Opinions?  Rantings and ravings?

... >_>

Buttercup, Westly, same thing.

Well, my only comment was that the recap contained far, far too much grinning... *grumble grumble*

I kid!  I love the theme, and think that the roles were good (and the luck, bad...) -- can't wait to join in the next one, and hope that even more people join in!

Geeklet

Either luck or uncanny skill. While I can attribute Leo's lynch on day 2 to luck, on night 2, Morarity's death is what surprised me. I mean, I had a couple suspicions myself (I was debating on investigating him over persephone that night), but I had nothing that would make me go for the kill if I was in that role.

Also, can I just say...

Quote from: Geeklet on August 10, 2013, 01:46:54 PM
Perhaps I am simply overthinking things on that last particular point. I've been known to do that on occasion.

My own subtle little hint as to my role early on in the game... it was every thing I could do not to giggle at myself for saying that.

persephone325

I loved the game. ;D I would happily join again! Oh, yes. I owe Geeklet an in character apology. lol

Persephone approached Geeklet, a solemn look on her face. "I will make good on my word. I do owe you an apology. I am sorry for suspecting you to be one of the villains." She bowed slightly as she spoke. "I hope you can forgive me."

Simple.  I had the spirit of my dead father to guide me.  :)

But seriously,  I knew James was up to no good.  His pattern of voting was exactly what I would do, were I a bad guy.  It was just a 50/50 shot whether he was the Six-Fingered Man or the Albino.

Leorobin, on the other hand, was a complete surprise to me.  Bit of luck there.
