Stand-dom [Seeking Nick Andros, or a male OC]

Notes: Obviously it helps to have read the book at least once. I'm happy to refresh details if it's been a while.
Plots:

On the Diagonal m/f
Playing with: Maggie, or another character to be determined.
Your Character: Nick Andros, personally I think he's one of the most interesting characters in the book.
Notes: I have some ideas for how Nick may avoid death, and possibly be cured of his handicaps for these ones, depending how things go.

Sketch 1: Simple, Maggie (or another character) joins Nick et al while traveling across the country and landing in Colorado.

Sketch 2: Nick meets Maggie, while woolgathering after establishing himself in Boulder, on the Boulder-Longmont Diagonal. He meets her as he's grappling with his own uncomfortable ideas about law and order and how to establish those things in Boulder.

Sketch: The two characters either survive the superflu in the same city and move on, or meet each other on the way to Nebraska or Colorado, following the general course of the book.
