I always get excited when people start system-based fantasy games, but then they always start at level one.  As though the campaign is meant to last long enough for us to see the good stuff.  Am I right?

I'd love to see a fantasy campaign that used some edition of the D&D rules (I suggest this route this because it's relatively common knowledge, and because it's relatively simple to explain to a newcomer), which starts at at least level ten.  Preferably higher.  The PCs would already be movers and shakers.  If people want secondary characters, or some people prefer to be involved at a lower strata of power, a troupe of servants, agents, hangers-on, prisoners, henchmen, cronies, proteges, and hirelings of all sorts could also be included.

My personal preference would be 1E, 2E, or BECMI for simplicity, but 3E is tolerable and 4E does have an intriguing new set of tools in the new DMG...

It's still really sketchy, though.

you can all drop me a line at my AIM/YIM/MSN or pm if you like to tell me what you want to be as far as character stuff goes ^_^ I have all of the D&D 3.5 and 3.0 books so feel free to get creative if you like ^_^

I also have a question if I am to be the gm, which seems to be the general consensus since, so far, nobody has raised a fuss. Do we want a campaign setting? Eberron, ghostwalk, forgotten realms, so on? I don't have all of the campaign settings actually but I do have a good few. Also how zany are we gonna want this adventure? Any sexual encounters? You guys call it I will make it ^_^ Of course once the whole thing starts you guys better be ready for hard core dragon fighting, monster killing, artifact collecting, evil destroying fun and all that good stuff XP Or we could do an evil campaign XP To tell the truth I don't mind what alignment anyone is also. Just know that in the game your alignment may cause trouble if it is looked upon badly.

I have to say I prefer not to have to adapt to a great deal of in-setting canon.  It's time-consuming for me, and unfriendly to those less familiar with the game.  I personally prefer old-school Greyhawk, but I'll deal with about anything so long as there's no expectation of deep familiarity.

Sexual encounters are fun, but I don't think they necessarily need to be over-planned.  They'll happen, one way or another, I am sure.  I'd prefer the game be somewhat morally ambiguous.  Lots of territory gets cut off if we're too clearly the good guys...on the other hand, very nearly every "evil campaign" I've ever seen has crashed and burned.  D&D has a great deal of focus on cooperative tactics, and so it's difficult to play well if the PCs can't rely on each other for some degree of support.

Well I think I got it pretty much thought up.

This game will be in a world of my making and will be a level 15 party. You can use any 3.0 or 3.5 base or prestige class for your character as long as you meet all of the pre-reqs for your prestige class or base class.  will accept any alignment though know that evil people are still frowned upon in game society, for the most part.

Your stat rolls will be made as 5d6, drop lowest dice and reroll ones. If you roll another one on a second roll keep rolling until you don't get a one.

As far as wealth goes your wealth will be x1.5 the normal gold amount for a level 15 character though you can spend no more than a quarter of your wealth on any one item. Also mix up your items. Get backup wondrous items and such. They may not seem very special at first, but you will be surprised what use they may come in.

Finally, and most importantly, this is a "high drama" game. It uses a system I made myself called the "Heroic Advantage System." Normally the general idea in a game is to play it safe but that isn't how this system works. The more dramatic and heroic your actions are the better off you will be in the upcoming game play. If you have the chance to jump from a two hundred foot cliff and land sword first on the Great Wyrm Red Dragon below for an epic one on one battle then please don't play it safe. Rack up the in game bonuses and take the chance. However, remember to stay in character. If you are a barbarian or fighter full of righteousness and boastful desire then of course such a course of action is a brave and noble one. If you are a cleric of pure good maybe you should save your point gaining plans for jumping into the mouth of god himself to destroy the artifact of ultimate evil. Similarly maybe the arcane mage type should save his amazing heroics for summoning the world's undoing or something like that, fending off the horde of charging trolls with a righteous magic spell. And so on. Any character is capable of extreme heroics, especially at this level. I want to see you do them.

Kate, Shadowspale, a pleasure to have you both in the same recruitment thread again.  I'm sure we'll succeed someday.

EDIT:  I'm in the process of constructing a Sorcerer, for reference.
