A gruff looking man clad in mismatched armor steps in to the inn. He looks around the crowded common room and takes an empty place at the bar.

Barkeep, give me a mug of ale and a plate of whatever the cook has made.

As the mug reaches him, the man surveys the room with interest, looking for the contact mentioned in the letter. Seeing nothing that caught his eye he pulled out the letter and read it again.

Ren, come to the Purple Lotus Inn three days before the start of the Festival of Summer Lights. I have work for you.

There was no signature, but he recognized the seal on the letter. It could only be one person.

Must be around here somewhere.

As Reniculous took another gulp of ale, the door opened.
