From what my friend told me he took a look at what American was all about ect..<sorta in a 'A Christmas Carol' retrospective>. I gave up on mainstream comics some time ago. DC I buy vertigo comics occasionally, Marvel I have a few titles but every year they find a way to diminish the pull list.

Right now it's stuff like Atomic Robo and smaller publishers.

And after a little more reading I found out a few things.. the short story was written by the guy who did Superman: Man of Steel's script.

What I found most amusing about this kerfuffle is that Superman was written/co-created by a Jewish Canadian, so the idea of him being a symbol of American patriotism seemed a little... off.
