Or a free form game. up to you guys I just want to have fun and make sure your all having fun ^^. There would be no third party stuff and Yeah PM me with questions!

Ok, So Just for reference we have a slightly crazy skald Gnome, a Drow cleric, a Half-elf Monk, Big boobed Aasimar paladin of shelyn, A hooman slayer. Also there is no more room for others to post into this just waiting for people to finish up character sheets.

Muse

Chulanowa

Could you tell us a little more about what you're looking to run? "a pathfinder game" covered a lot of ground  ;D Do you have a particular module or adventure path in mind? if it's a homebrew thing, can you give some detail?

eBadger

Definitely interested in a pathfinder system game, but yeah - would like some more details, please!

Revelation

mhmm, some detials would definitely help gauge my interest in this.

eternaldarkness

Depending on available content, i'm tentatively interested. In particular, i'm dying to play a warlord or Stalker. bonus points if starting level is something higher than '1', and it has a decent plot.

I was debating between Wrath of the righteous And my home brew game set in magnimar where the finding of a statue could bring an end to the world!

Up to you guys.  On top of that I really dont want to stray into 3rd party materials, sorry.

MasterMischief

I would be interested in exploring Magnimar.

Ah well, I had to try. Best of luck to you.

eBadger

I don't know much about either of those, but I'd suggest a pre-made adventure may be better if you're less experienced in PBP's.  They're much different from tabletop GMing.

Harukajunko

Ok, if it really is a big difference then I can run a Adventure path. so you guys start at Level 1, two regular traits, 1 story trait from Wrath of the righteous and a 20 point buy :O for those needing a calculator for point buy, here you go: http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.html  no hero points so you do Get an extra feat at the beginning. And no 3rd party material. only Paizo.. Anyone needing help or such send me a pm or jump on mumble

eBadger

Is there an intro blurb for this shindig?  I read over it a bit and gathered it's a religious crusade against demons sort of theme, but not much more.

MiraMirror

Not interesting in playing, but you can grab the Player's Guide for free on paizo.com's store. ^^

Yup here is the players guide http://paizo.com/products/btpy919c?Pathfinder-Adventure-Path-Wrath-of-the-Righteous-Players-Guide it is free to download and has campaign stuff.

Aso here is the SRD for all of your info needs for classes and character creating tools. I am allowing most races and classes just drop a line if your wondering about something. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

MasterMischief

Just to be clear, no 3rd party, but you are allowing all Paizo stuff, correct?

Harukajunko

Yeah since without Paizo material is the base stuff, But all paizo is up for grabs. And for this campaign I am allowing Lawful evil and MAYBE Neutral Evil... But talk to m about it first :o

MasterMischief

I am considering the Hybrid Class Slayer.

Harukajunko

Chulanowa

Wrath of the Righteous, y'say! I think I can figure something out for that  ;D

Mysterica

Never really heard of this module but I will happily look in on it and try to decide on a fun sounding concept as soon as I've eaten.

Muse

  How many are you going to take, Haruka?  It's not uncommon on this site for dozens of applicants to jump onto one pathfinder game.  I'd like to know if I'm auditioning, or giving my best for a game I'm in.  ^_^;;

I am thinking about 8 People and its just the people who get to me with their charecters first. BTW please I beg dont just pull an optimized charecter out ;n;. I have had bad experiances where they basicly ruin the game

MiraMirror

I'd highly recommend against 8 people, if you're just running a single group. 4 mythic characters is more than enough to deal with the AP, from my experiences. 8 is just asking for a curbstomp. ^^;

Soma Blacktorque, Last Errant of the Great Machine
Skald 1

Appearance:  Soma is young, but her serious and dour mien lends her gravitas.  Her eyes in particular are haunting, usually the black of charcoal but flaring into a brilliant fire orange when her passions are aroused; not an uncommon occurrence, for both rage and desolation are quick to surface.  A gnome, she is barely over 3' tall, thin and wiry but with strength and stamina that reveal her fey heritage.

In normal dress, Soma tends toward the utilitarian - although she can rarely refuse the small touches of design and material that mark fine craftsmanship.  She denies vehemently, however, that such arise from any sense of vanity.

Background:  Soma's great-great-grand dame, the matriarch of the clan Onilla Blacktorque was a master of the mechanical in a way perhaps unseen for a half millenium before or since.  Her works were not merely gears, but machines that spanned planes and functioned beyond understanding.  In the final months of her life, as her mind began to break apart from her knowledge, enhanced by injections of celestial elixir, she imagined a machine capable of creating the very stuff of divinity.  While she crumbled and broke, Onilla committed the Schematic of the Great Machine to print for her clan to build after her passing.

The Blacktorque clan descended beneath the surface and began to build.  Each master, as they gained understanding of the Machine, felt their mind begin to fracture and eventually slipped into madness.  They could speak only of beauty, light, and the inevitable perfection of the Machine's function.  Under the guidance of the mad, the Blacktorque labored for five centuries, until at last the Machine was approaching completion.

Soma spent her childhood at work, but upon reaching adulthood she joined the Errants; members who would travel abroad to locate parts, information, or specialists not available within the clan.  Soma was collecting materials when disaster struck.  Returning to the Machine, she found her clan slaughtered - not merely killed but torn asunder by demons.  No other errants returned.  At last, lacking any other hope of completing the Machine, Soma opened the Schematic and began to read.

Personality:  Under the blows of tragedy and slow work of the Schematic, Soma has already begun to feel her sanity thinning.  Her rage grows like a force of magic, erupting in the midst of combat as a soul piercing litany of celestial recounting her clan and the Schematic.  Soma realizes the change, as well as the inevitability of madness and destruction, but refuses to abandon her legacy.  Each night she reads another page of the Schematic.

Those around her, unknowing of her troubles, find Soma melancholy or volatile; she is eloquent and driven but indecipherable.  When able to control her emotion, Soma is quiet, reserved, polite and formal.  For her part, Soma holds the lives of those who aid her above all else, save only the Machine itself.  They are, after all, her new clan and though they don't know it, they carry on the prophetic word of Onilla toward Divinity.

Sexuality:  Unknown.  If asked, she notes the superiority of a finely crafted tool to meet one's own needs.  Probably a virgin, technically.

Sheet:  Link

Muse

Well, an adventure path will probably need a little adjustment for eight people, but ti's not hard at all.

Last time I auditioned for this path I brought a paladin.  Since no one has singed up for a cleric yet, I'll send one your way.  :)

eBadger

Yay cleric!

And yes, it's a lot easier to add in a few extra bad guys to adjust for a larger group than to try to keep a game trudging along with only a couple people after you have drop outs.  And the Law of E is that 1/3 to 1/2 the group will vanish after the first month anyhow :P

MiraMirror

If you're just adding in "a few extra bad guys", they need to be really tough then. With a party of 4 mythic characters, you'd be surprised at how much of a stomp it is in the PC's favor, that's all. Like...It's disgusting. That said, I'll be watching from the sidelines anyway. >:3c

Muse, with all due respect, I've DMed it. It *says* it is build for mythic characters, but 9/10 encounters are not built for mythic. There is literally only one encounter that's difficult, and that's because it's slightly overtuned. Everything else is a curbstomp unless you seriously botch up the dice.

MiraMirror

I didn't mean to come off as aggressive, either. Sorry.

I just mean to say that while I have no doubt you'll all have fun with the campaign itself, it turns into a curbstomp pretty quickly, and it's just an issue, in my opinion. I'm not the DM, however, so I have no say in the matter. ^^ I hope you all have fun anyway, as it's still an amazing story.
On's and Offs -  Please read before asking for a story <3

Muse

:)  Well, he did ask us not to optimize our characters.  *shrugs*

I'm not exactly known for that.  I like to have a lot of skills that fit my concept.  She'll eventually have Weapon Finesse, Dervish Dancer, Rapid channel, and exclusive Channel, but that could take a bit!  Especially if I wind up needing a feat to get all the appropriate class skills.

MiraMirror

It's less about optimization, to be honest. It's just mythic in general that's blatantly game-breaking, and they just didn't do a great job of accounting for it, that's all. Nothing to do with the players. ^^

History

Leofwine was raised in Kyonin, but he is not entirely sure where he was born. A woman, most likely his mother, brought him as a young child to a monastery, and asked the monks there to accept the child, for she could not care for it. Being inclined towards good deeds, they were willing to accept this young one into their folds. Thus, the earliest memories Leofwine has is of the monastery, of the monks there, and the daily exercises and training he began when he was still quite young.

He knew little of the outside world, and for the longest of times, he cared little for it. He stayed focused on his own pursuit of self perfection, which did not require him to know of what was occurring in the rest of the world. In time, he did not even care to go out and find his parents, knowing full well that with no real information to go off of, it was pure folly.

One day, however, there was a small fair-well affair for several of the older monks of the monastery. They were leaving to join in a crusade. This sparked curiosity in the young Leofwine, who finally found something to arouse his interest in the world beyond the walls he had become so accustomed to. He decided that, when he was prepared for it, he would leave to join the next crusade.

Time passed. He continued to train, to hone himself. Then, one day, news came about the formation of a new crusade. Leofwine went to the elders of his organization, and asked for their permission to leave. They agreed, and he left on his journey, taking with him what humble offerings the other monks could provide him with.

Code of Conduct

Right View: It is important to reach as great of an understanding of a situation as is possible, when all factors are accounted for. In order to gather such information, one must be willing and able to separate wheat from chaff.
Right Intention: Before undertaking a task, ensure that you have the proper motivations and intent with this action. Correct intent ultimately boils down to the utilitarian ideal of 'the greatest good for the greatest number of people'.
Right Speech: Even when under duress, it is not proper or honorable to tell a lie. Note that if one has been deceived, but is unaware of it, repetition of the deception is not a violation of this portion of the Code; however, with Right View, one should not be deceived.
Right Action: It is not acceptable to merely have Right Intention, but one must also correctly execute the action they have chosen to do. If an innocent suffers from such an action, then reasonable restitution must be given. If a well-intentioned action has far reaching negative repercussions, then one is honor-bound to do everything that one can to stop it, or minimize the damage.
Right Health: To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short. The body, just as the mind and soul, must be nourished with a well balanced diet. To deny ones self sustenance is just as wrong as to over-indulge. In addition, intoxicating substances should, at all costs, be avoided.  It is also right to pursue sexual relations, for chastity would be 'falling short', but one must not indulge wantonness, as that would be 'going beyond'. Additionally, such sexual acts should be done with Right Action and Right Intention.
Right Mind: The mind may be killed in many ways. Emotions of any sort, either a lack or an excess, can be detrimental to the pursuit of Perfect Rightfulness. Therefore, one must resist the temptations of such things as, but not limited to, fear, lust, anger, jealousy, etc.
Right Focus: In the grand scheme of things, one will often be found needing to perform deeds both small and large. In the matters of conflicting orders, or where one has only enough time or resources to devote to a single task, then the task so chosen should, at all times, be that which has been weighed as providing the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people.

Well, having just mainlined the first five episodes of this seasons' Vikings, I'm going to call Barbarian, Shaman, or Skald, I think.

Something to mull over as I pore over the three classes  ;D

Hey, There is a viking fighter class o.o

My character is a skald; multiples are no problem but would synergize very well with a barbarian.

Harukajunko

ok so.. I only have one problem with the characters and I really hate to be this way but uhh.. for touched by divinity I would actually recommend that they are all for one go or to have some different traits >.<. Trust me it will make more sense later down the road why I am asking this.

Snake

I replaced it with Stolen Fury, is that ok?

And as for her pic. basically this, just with a larger bust XD

Harukajunko

sounds good ^^ and got it, bigger boobs :P but yeah it just makes it very confusing later.

Snake

It's ok ^^ I don't mind making changes like that.

Also Variant aasimar have listed physical traits that aren't listed here as they have no in-game effect other than it's cool.

She has Unearthly Beauty, her hair Turns silver in moonlight and clothing billows without wind.  Minor cosmetic stuff that's just nifty :3

Harukajunko

Snake

A figured an ARcher paladin would be different than the normal Aegis (sword and board) one. I think there's also an archetype that enhances it I'll have to check.

Chulanowa

You're looking at divine hunter, for Archetype.

And shit, maybe we'll have to double-up on paladins  :P

Snake

Thanks man. I'll check that out and edit it as necessary or what not.

Dimitri Pecht lived a happy childhood with his parents in a small village on the edge of the Estrovian forest.
His father was a retired gladiator that had settled in and grown fat as an innkeeper.  That happy childhood
was shattered when Dimitri was only thirteen years old.  A demon that had escaped from the Worldwound
disguised itself as a human and took shelter in the inn.  While Dimitri slept, the demon killed his father and
mother and set the inn ablaze.  Dimitri escaped, but sustained burns to his back and bares the scars to
remind him of the night he lost everything to the infernal beasts of the Worldwound.

Dimitri's uncle took him in and raised him the best he could.  Dimitri traveled the Inner Sea with his uncle,
but his eye never strayed far from the north and the gaping hole that had stolen his innocence from him.

Now of age, Dimitri intends to join the crusade against the demons.

Chance Encounter Once per day, if you fail an Acrobatics, Bluff, Disguise, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth check, you may immediately reroll that check as a free action. You must take the second result, even if it is worse.
Inspiring As a standard action, you can speak words of encouragement to grant a +1 morale bonus to an ally within 30 feet who can see and hear you. The ally can use this bonus on any d20 roll of her choice before the start of your next turn. You cannot use this trait to grant a bonus to yourself or to an ally who has already benefited from this trait within the last 24 hours.
Studied target A slayer can study an opponent he can see as a move action. The slayer then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, and a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The DCs of slayer class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. A slayer can only maintain these bonuses against one opponent at a time; these bonuses remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the slayer studies a new target.
Track A slayer adds 1/2 his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.
Weapon Focus +1 bonus on attack rolls with one weapon
World Traveler Select one of the following skills: Diplomacy, Knowledge (local), or Sense Motive (Diplomacy). You gain a +1 trait bonus on checks with that skill, and it is always a class skill for you.

Hrmmm okay, will over them tonight (download is on the comp at home).  Most of them just didn't seem like they'd ever come up is all.

And of course, Soma is definitely, ah, touched

Harukajunko

ok if you can trust the gm I promise every single one of them has their own events.

eBadger

No worries, not distressed by the switch.  I just found a couple of them funny.  My personal fave:

"Once per day when you fail a saving throw against an effect created by a demon that would kill or physically incapacitate you, you can immediately reroll that saving throw as a free action. You must take the second result, even if it is worse."

Because first of all, how many times does this happen that it has to be pretty narrowly defined, and second of all, worse than DEATH?

Chulanowa

Well, when you consider that by Pathfinder cosmology, death is just the first step to eternity... yeah.  >:)

Ixy

Are you completely set on characters for this?  8 players seems a bit many for play-by-post, but I'm always looking for a core group that follows a good story

I think we're missing an arcane caster in the current lineup - unless you count the skald, I guess, but it's just a gnome, so it doesn't count  ::)

Ixy

I think someone's making a wizard... I'll write up a sorcerer and an alchemist just in case

Harukajunko, you may want to modify the first post to let peeps know we're looking for more, what the adventure path is, list the character creation rules and give a tally of what we've got so far.  When recruitment threads reach about this length I think people tend to assume they're full, or they just don't have the patience to read through everything to find out the status.

Chulanowa

Almost... there... Just need to decide on a race. -Flails-

Chulanowa

Gno  ;D

I'm looking at Human, Half-elf / orc, or Tiefling. I was a little tempted by Dhampir, but goddamn they have so many hurdles to jump.

Chulanowa

At the moment I'm looking towards the redemption theme mentioned in the AP, and the various angles that can be approached from.

My main struggle is character image, though. I usually build ideas around images, y'know find something that makes me go oh cool! And thing is, i'm kinda picky about images, i just roll my eyes at like, giant bulky MMO swords and plate armor with high heels andthree foot spikes with skulls on them on the spaulders. Who does that?

eBadger

Ah, yeah, I getcha.  I usually start my characters from an image; I have a couple libraries of them and just look through until one pops out with a personality.  It periodically makes for gnomish skalds or android hunters, but at least potentially fun ones....

If that's your dilemma, though, I'd go with human.  Definitely the easiest to find an image for even if you discount all the wacky fantasy armor types.

DarkNevaeh

I'm finishing up my Human Wizard this weekend.  I think I went with Child of the War or whatever...the one that makes me an orphan.

Snake

Well we have a fair mix at least. :3 Even with my Paladin serving mostly as ranged power.

RubySlippers

Is there room for a Cleric or Druid? Or better a Druid or Cleric ADDING Rogue in at 2nd Level.

Is there room for more? If so, I have a couple ideas if I can get a character/class listing.
08/02 - New A/A Update

Chulanowa

One note - Since it looks like there's going to be a selection, why not hold off on selecting campaign traits until after the characters are chosen? That way, if people go with say, Child of the Crusades, they can decide how they're related to another character with that trait (so there's not, like, a goblin and a half-elf with it... "Cousins!") Decide what deity is speaking to them through Touched by Divinity (Shyalaman plot twist - GOZREH!) that sort of thing.

Second note - Just noticed it was 20 point buy and not 25-point buy. That does narrow some things down at least! Surely takes Dhampir out of the running, damned constitution penalty...

Muse

Ruby, I've applied with a cleric, so a druid might fit better.

Of course, you can never have too many clerics!

I'll probably bring a Fighter based Archer who will eventually go Arcanist then Arcane Archer. If I'm stepping on your toes, Snake, I've got other ideas.

Haruka, if this doesn't work let me know via PM so I'll get it faster. Meanwhile I'll work on building the character.

Name: Arrick
Character Sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=143395

History: Arrick’s birth is shrouded in mystery. All that is known is that one day Queen Telandia Edasseril, appeared at court with an infant held carefully in hand. It was apparent that the child was elven born but was not an elf. The Queen decreed that a home be found for the child and that he was to be raised no differently than any other elven child.

Arrick was accepted into the home of Elanelis Yildale and his wife. He was loved as if he had been born into their home and raised in the same way as any other elf. Despite this, Arrick always knew he was different from everyone else. That became much more apparent when he hit adolescence and his skin tone shifted and he found himself more adroit than other kids his age.

Shortly after he turned 110, he was abducted by Elven cultists who were foolish enough to worship demonkind. He managed to survive the ordeal but it left its mark on him. His sleep was not as peaceful as it had once been and he took to his studies with a hunger that was almost disturbing to his Elders. But nothing about his studies was deemed dangerous so he was allowed to pursue them.

Finally it came time for him to choose a path and he chose the bow as he had a knack for it that seemed almost surreal. His hatred of demonkind led him to the Tanglebriar where he felt that not only could he learn more about demons but also do some good on that front. He’s spent the last decade living near the Tanglebriar hunting and killing everything that sides with Treerazor.

But recently word has come through Kyonin that there has been another call for a crusade to close the Worldwound and his surrogate parents suggested that he go answer the call as he might learn more about the ritual that he survived. Their logic was that Treerazor would be dealt with in time and was currently contained. But his mother, who was a Seer had had visions that the Worldwound would need to be closed and soon or the Golarion was in grave peril.

So he took a year to craft new armor and a new bow before he set out for the Mendevian front. There he plied his trade as a bowyer and an armorsmith in the hopes of helping until he could find a more direct role in dealing with the Worldwound.

Sexuality: While technically a virgin, Arrick is attracted to the female form and while he can find the male form asthetically pleasing, he just does not find any sexual urges towards other males.

Note: Still working on the character history and such but for the record he's an elven born Azata-blooded Aasimar

Chulanowa

Nurya Farhadid
Class: Paladin
Race: Suli-jann
Ethnicity: Kelesh / Kellid
Character sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=141591

Background: Nurya was just one of the many orphans scavenging the crusader camps around Kenabres. She knew the name her parents had given her, but not much beyond that; she liked to think that they were valiant crusaders who had given their lives for the safety of the town at some point, but all the orphans thought that. Young fools and knaves all, they would often dare each other to "sneak out" and prove their mettle. Nurya, already a tall, tough girl by this point, took one of the dares, and under cover of night, slipped out into the wilderness.
What passed next is a blur to Nurya. a hideous... thing rose from the shadows. She felt its claws digging into her shoulders and armpits, intent on tearing her apart. She felt something inside[surge[/i], her own hands wreathed in electricity as she slapped and hit at the monster. There was a shout, then darkness... She awoke in a medic tent back in Kenabres, both arms heavily bandaged, al lthe way to theh nads. An older woman, her dark-skinned face lined with age and worry, held a bowl of water for the child to sip while berating her. For her foolishness, for risking herself and others. Nor not controlling her magic (Nurya learned that her electricity had burned skin off of her own arms, in fact).
And then the woman, the knight Jwahir Daudibissau, asked if the child wanted better chances the next time she foolishly went on a one-girl crusade. Nurya's answer caused a chuckle - "I'd rather not do it alone." And so, for six years, the child squired for Daudibissau, adopting her faith, if not her temperance and mild manner. Much of this training was away from the Worldwound; the Crusader Road that passes through Numeria has no shortage of bandits and pillagers seeking to victimize the pilgrims, after all.
Nurya could never forget that encounter with the thing though. Daudibissau says it was slain, but there are of course, more like it. Nurya has returned to the town of her birth, alone, to pledge her sword to the service of the crusade against the demons of the Worldwound.

Personality: Nurya's genie blood does not flow quietly. She is brash, a little impulsive, and outspoken. She shows little of the temperance one might expect of a Paladin, especially if your example is one of the brooding louts that glower over parapets into the Worldwound all day. Nurya would call herself passionate. And she is. She believes truly in the causes of good and redemption, and her soul sings with hte flow of battle. Kindness is not something she knew growing up; that's been a lesson for her, over these seven years. But she understands no one is perfect, least of all herself.

Muse

Ah.  :)  Paladin of Saranrae and Cleric of Saranrae in the same party?  :)  Awesome.

Just two. Your ranged paladin, and my charge-in-hit-them-in-the-face-with-a-sword paladin.

Question though; how did you get those stats on Masako? We're running 20 point buy and you've got 32 spent there.

Snake

Damn. that's right *ughs* Either I have to rework it or drop the character. That first character, the monk has stats outside of the 20 point buy too.

For some reason, I thought we were doing 32 point.  Hmm.

So Xandric is a Human Universalist Wizard.  Lost his parents in the War (thank you weird path thing) and unless I have siblings to work with due to the War..path...thing, he's going to be picked up by a Master Wizard who will teach him things, teach him his aptitude for the Arcane...and teach him the benefits of various monsters and other things.  Xandric went off one day to pick up some ingredients for his Master.  While out in the near forest, a red dragon came to the nearby village to attack.  Xandric ran back to his Master's house on the outskirts of the village...and found that he was fighting the dragon with his Arcane might.  Xandric was about to help with his meager skill when his Master put a web out, blocking the path.  He didn't want his student hurt.  It was a long fight..and in the fight, Xandric learned the name of this Dragon...this foe who would end up snatching his Master in his claws and flying off with him.  The dragon's name was Zynteer and he was a menace on the land.  As the Dragon flew off with his bounty in his claws and the web dissipated, a ring fell from his Master's hand.  Xandric found where it fell and kept it...a simple silver ring with an inscription in Draconic: 'Acts of Wonder come from the fires of Passion and Ambition.'  Xandric wears it around his neck as a reminder of everything he's lost.  He now travels to practice his skill, get stronger, and one day find and face down the Dragon that took his Master.
