Hello, and welcome to my collection of story ideas. Some are fully formed and ready for characters, others will require some discussion beforehand. In general, my ideas are suited for long-term, plot heavy, moderately paced stories.

About me:

  • Usually dominant

  • Posts every 1-2 days on average

  • Post length varies. Some scenes call for shorter posts, some longer. On average I write 3 paragraphs, though introductions tend to be much longer

  • Fantasy stories/settings preferred

Fantasy-based stories

-1-
A fantasy city has been plagued by a series of murders. They appear to be the work of a cult, as the bodies have all been discovered at the center of a ritual circle traced in the victim's blood. Rumors abound. Some say it's the work of the assassin's guild, others a master vampire and its servants, and still others claim it's a conspiracy headed by the duke of the city.

The latest murder provides some unexpected clues that could lead to solving the case- or to the investigators' deaths.

Roles would need to be discussed, but should be along the lines of royal investigators, city guards, detectives, or even concerned citizens.

"... There is one Creator, who exists everywhere at once for all of these worlds. In the same way, there is only one Dark One, who also exists in all of these worlds at once. If he is freed from the prison the Creator made in one world, he is freed on all. So long as he is kept prisoner in one, he remains imprisoned on all."

-Verin Mathwin, The Dragon Reborn

In an alternate world version of the Wheel of Time setting, two Ta'veren learn of threats to worlds beyond their own. Utilizing portal stones, they travel to these various worlds to prevent acts that could unleash the Dark One upon that world.

The worlds they visit could be those from any series with an overlord or an ancient evil needing to be banished: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, some of the Final Fantasy games, etc.

A fantasy kingdom is at war, and is losing. Invaders stand at the gates of the capitol, their numbers seemingly as endless as the stars. Someone connected to the royal family- a princess, perhaps, or a noble or retainer- is sent from the capitol on a secret errand: to journey to the surrounding lands and return with aid. The story would follow her travels as she attempts to convince others to join her cause, and raise an army that can save her homeland.

Loosely inspired by the movies Seven Samurai and the Magnificent Seven.

-4-
It wasn't a difficult assignment for the thief. Attend a masquerade ball. Slip away from the party, into the cellars beneath the mansion. Find the object, leave without being noticed, and deliver it to an unknown patron.

There was only one catch: the mysterious patron was Leofric Valadon, a wizard and also the owner of the mansion. It was all a setup. He considered the true mission to be too dangerous without testing her first. To ensure her cooperation he made sure to take a lock of her hair, that could be used to cast a powerful curse in the event she betrayed him. But when the mission takes a sinister turn and they are forced to work together, will they be able to trust each other?

Everything has an opposite; and the opposite of the known world is a shadow realm filled with twisted things. They would like nothing more than to cross between worlds and tear to pieces those who live beneath the light of the sun.

Caelthar Arlasari is a master elven swordsman, and has spent most of his life fighting against the shadows that have managed to cross over. The sword he carries is named Dawnbringer, and there is a prophecy that says that, one day, a warrior will use the sword to seal away the evil forever. Everyone believes that is him; everyone that is, but Caelthar himself. Because he knows he is dying.

Stricken by an incurable disease, he believes he will not survive to see the prophecy unfold. To that end he seeks an apprentice to whom he can entrust his secrets of his skills. One day he meets a young woman who desires to become his apprentice. He rejects her at first, but she persists, and he agrees to take her on. He becomes convinced that she is the prophesied warrior, but as events unfold he wonders how much time is left to either of them.

-6- Taken
A human kingdom is at war with dark elves. A wounded dark elf soldier, separated from his unit, flees pursuit across the surface lands. A human girl finds him and decides to help him, giving him shelter and tending to his wounds. When he recovers he disappears, but not before leaving her a pendant that he says will bring her good luck.

Several years pass by, and the war is at an end. A dark elf delegation travels to the human capitol to sign a treaty. The human girl has grown up; and due to some deaths during the war, is now royalty and in the line of succession. The dark elf soldier is included in the delegation, and she recognizes him at once. But what she doesn't know is that he is an assassin, and that his orders are to wipe out the royal family.
