Because you haven't been approved yet.  You need to create a new topic in the Introductions forum, where you'll post your answers to our questionnaire.  Then, after a few days of interacting with the members and staff, a decision on your application will be made.

It is interactive, so be sure to check back on your intro to see the responses.
