The world has come under attack. They came out of nowhere and it happened fast. Before the governments could give out warnings or send out troops, the casualty rate had soared to millions worldwide.  Countries slid into anarchy in mere hours and people who fell behind just disappeared.

Nobody know what they are, where they came from or how to fight them. Some say they are vulnerable to simple things as knifes and guns, others say nothing works against them.

After the initial onslaught, all over the world clusters of survivors begin to appear, trying to fight back and find a way to make earth their home again.

Our group starts off in the Russian capital, Moscow, during and right after the initial attack. One of the Kremlin honour guards, played by me, is the last of the guards and has control of a radio. As she gathers more and more survivors, she realises that the world has changed and that the old rules and laws no longer apply.

As the group scrambles for safety, one night they hear a continuous broadcast on the old radio.

"We have weapons. We have food and shelter. Together, we can fight back and claim back our home. Rodina-Mat' zovyot! The Motherland Calls."

Cryptic for most, my character knows where they have to go and sets off with the group to meet the survivors.




Wow that sounds pretty great but what is it?
It is a semi post apocalyptic survival game. Initially everything will work as it did. Water continues to be pumped through the pipes, electricity will be on, etc, etc. Later on, more and more will shut down, leaving what's left of mankind struggling to survive.

Aww. So no smut then?
This is Elliquiy. Smut and sex is part of the game. Just keep it semi realistic. I will allow BDSM and stuff like that but again, realistic. The chances of you surviving, bound up, naked and led on a leash are slim to none. A man and a woman (or two men or two women) frustrated about the situation having hot steamy sex is completely fine. Dominant and submissive characters are fine but please, this is above all survival.

What am I looking for?
I'd like realistic and normal everyday characters. You can have a skill or two but nothing superman. Ideally I'd get around five to eight dedicated players. I will only allow males to play males and females to play females. There are a few exceptions on this rule.

Why Russia and why Moscow?
Simple. I think Russia is an interesting setting compared to Europe or the US. Firstly because it's going to be very cold (the aliens attacked in winter). Secondly because the infrastructure isn't as good as in the afore mentioned regions, therefore making survival perhaps a bigger challenge. The cars though, are more robust and reliable. Moscow is the most international city in Russia and thus the most realistic place for international characters.

What are those damned aliens?
The aliens are creatures that need a human body as a host. Once they taken over the host, they drain the power if it's male and able to change into whatever form they wish. If it's female, the breed the life out of them in special places to reproduce.

They are not hyper intellectual or strong and can easily be killed by weapons. Their strength lies in numbers and they can blend in large groups because they can have a human appearance. I'm guessing their normal form is large, perhaps tentacled monstrosities. They have the ability to lure prey with pheromones etc.

I do like to stress out that the game is about survival. You won't get caught, unless you specifically want to but we'd have some serious plotting to do when that happens.

So, what else?
Nothing much really. Except for the fact that although it's mostly a free game, I will at times move the game forwards. This is to prevent dragging scenes out for too long.

I'm really interested. The games I've attempted to join so far in which smut is low or secondary never seem to get off the ground, but here's to hoping. Also I'd really like to play a Russian character but I don't know a lick of Russian, and my knowledge of eastern European culture is menial at best so i'm not sure how that would work...

My character will be a guard who's never seen battle for real. She had training but that's it. So yeah, average Jane is perfect.

I think I would like to play something like an Automotive Engineer from the USA, someone that can help the party stay mobile and I'd love to explore the relationship dynamic between survivors of the last super power nations now not so super.

I'm with you there, I wasn't thinking politics per say in a "hurr durr America/Russia is blah" but rather the cultural differences between characters.

Really depends what kind of flavor everyone is looking for, do we want a more Sci Fi game or a Horror theme? The 'Metro' video game series had some interesting monsters, I think they are mutants but we can give them any backstory we want. Also the fungus zombies from 'The Last of Us' were a pretty exciting enemy. We could have "Space Fungus Zombie Aliens" instead. Check them out at your leisure.

I'd largely prefer the horror variety. at least in spirit. To me the most interesting kinds of aliens are one who's physiology and motives are so beyond human understanding that their very existence is terrifying, and... you know... 'alien'. Huge fan of aliens like the thing, and also aliens that are just mindless endlessly multiplying viruses like the necromorphs and the flood. Not a huge fan of hyper intelligent "take over the planet because reasons" sort of aliens, more the cosmic horror type in the sense that either we are but a speck of dust to these creatures and the universe or the sense that intelligence is an evolutionary dead end and we are nothing but meat to these creatures who will inevitably wipe us out due to a quirk of reproduction.

The range of alien creatures from the metro game (originally set in a half-abandoned, stricken Moscow, of course) is impressive and they look very cool and scary...not sure if we would realistically have the weapons needed to fight them on sight though.  ;) But we'll get to discuss a whole set of questions I guess.

I don't mind the big scary horror aliens but they shouldn't be too powerful. There has to be a human way to defeat them.

Same goes for the viruses. There has to be a chance that mankind can survive.

As for a reason and their motives... How about they use humans as a host for their offspring? Females to breed, males to feed on. This immediately gives them a good reason to concentrate their efforts on the big cities. In the countryside, humans would be reasonably safe as the population of aliens would be a lot less. Maybe they even need a human body as a host and once it's spent, they need a new one.

They could be killed by killing the human host and preventing them from getting a new host. Without a host they are very vulnerable and easy to kill.

Their appearance could be anything as the human body is just weak and fleshy.

Short description: Anastasiya is the youngest of five children. She is the apple of her parents eyes, but also a cause of much concern. Unlike her siblings, she is not a very serious child. Her siblings used their upper-middle-class background to carve out a successful path for themselves. For Anastasiya, life is more about having fun. Thus her parents worry about having to support their youngest child for perpetuity, as her academic career so far does not suggest it leading to a good job after graduating. Her modeling career is local and very sporadic, meaning she would not be able to support herself on that should she drop out of school. She is very sexually active but not exclusive with anyone. She had her last real boyfriend at age 19 and has little interest in tying herself down to just one person.

The distance between her and her family means she doesn't see them a lot, something she has learned to live with but not always making it easier. Zoya is friendly and helpful but those colleagues that try to put her down, because she is a woman, will soon learn she can hold her own. She doesn't have a boyfriend, saying that most boys would be scared off by her job but she has some friends with benefits.

There are no real future plans yet. The army is not her passion and she only enlisted because at the time, she felt her country was in need of her services. Her hobbies consist of dancing and drawing.

Occupation:Classic Literature (exchange)student
Residence: Apartment in central Moscow
Short description: Leah was born in Ireland but Her family moved to the English city of Liverpool when she was nine. Her father worked as a fishermen, and her mother as a waitress, leaving her home alone for long periods of time. Most of her youth was spent in borderline poverty so she didn't grow up with many modern amenities that most people take for granted.
As such Leah spent most of her youth away from home, spending her time wandering the streets, “urban exploring” or just bullshiting with her friends in some abandoned parking lot.
[Redacted] WIP...found the works of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky which immediately sparked her love of Russian literature. A few years after she became a Russian exchange student so she could see and experience the country first hand, but now she is stranded there thousands of miles from her family and home with no clear way back.
(Synopsis? Will expand on it more as it comes forth and I get a better feel for the character)
Personality: Very much a tomboy, Leah is adventurous, down-to-earth, but extremely stubborn. She generally level-headed and cool but if you manage to make her mad it’s not something she will soon let go. She also had some problems with authority and finds it extremely unpleasant to take or give orders. While not hugely introverted she isn’t much of a talker, aloof would be the word she isn’t friendly by nature and tends to avoid talking people she doesn’t know.
As of the beginning of the story she has a pack of mint toothpicks she keeps around after she stopped smoking to have something to keep in her hands or mouth, and a large spring assisted pocket knife she keeps on her for self-defense, though it’s mostly just there to make her feel better.

Six months later Daniel finds himself spirited away to Moscow in order to assist the VAZ production team with material selection for the new line of vehicles. 
 
Description and Personality: Daniel is tall standing at 1.9 meters and possesses classic rugged good looks. His hair is black and eyes blue, and his body is well developed from regular gym attendance. Daniel is extremely polite by most standards but never minces his words, always speaking very plainly and does he not tolerate ignorance or useless people. He is well studied, well traveled, and deeply enjoys exploring new cultures while doing his best to leave a positive impression of himself and his country to every person he meets in the world.

She was over in Moscow for a few weeks and staying with her cousin (female) who is married to a Russian when the strange infiltration seemed to begin. After her hosts mysteriously disappeared she packed some provisions, left their flat in the suburbs and got into the city to try to figure out what to do next and see if there was any chance of escaping home to Norway.

Short description: Elin grew up in a large and close-knit family and has spent a good deal of time outdoors on the open range, on mountains and in forests. She is used to being in the open and to trekking and skiing in the wild, but not very used to the harsh winter climate of Russia, much colder than most parts of Norway. She is fairly tough physically if she has to endure things for a while, but also craves affection and now she is suddenly completely on her own in a strange and dangerous city without contact with anyone she knew before.

She liked to be staying in Moscow; her trip there was part vacation and part about gathering some material for a research project she was planning to take on after her law degree. She has some knowledge of Russian as a language and a long-standing interest in Russian culture and literature, but isn't fully fluent or confident about speaking the language all day long. When the strangeness began she was feeling confused and noticed that other people seemed to be growing suspicious too. Things soon got increasingly unpredictable and mysterious, communications faltered sometimes and one day when she returned to her cousin's place in a six-floor apartment building she found the windows broken down, pools of blood in the kitchen and hall, and no sign of neither her cousin nor hubby. With the worst kind of forebodings she gathered together some of her clothes, some food and a few other useful things. A neighbour offered her a car ride into town, and off they went. While Elin received a few brief sms messages from her cousin's phone - some of them sounding everyday, some just like gibberish - she has no idea what may have happened to her relative. In the city, she could see signs of growing chaos and she realized that there would be few chances to find any planes heading for Scandinavia.

Elin is sexually straight, but has had a few intimate encounters with women and found them "interesting" and fun.

Skills: Cooking, some camping and basic survival skills.

Short description: Dani was an only child to young parents who lived hard and left her an orphan at ten.  She was young, but she saw what happened to her parents and vowed never to be like them.  Her grandparents weren't much better, but a great aunt on her father's side took her in and Dani lived with her until that woman passed when Dani was 18.

Tough, resilient, Dani learned that the best way to get ahead was to have an education.  She used the small inheritance from her great aunt to fund her schooling and earned an art degree and a teaching credential.  She was able to keep her great aunt's house and make a decent living teaching art in a private school.  When she was twenty-seven she married the man she thought was the love of her life.  She learned that he didn't have the same ideals when, two months in, she found him screwing her best friend in their brand new bed, in their brand new house, for which she'd had to sell her aunt's house to come up with the down payment.  Betrayed all-around, she walked away from that life and straight to an attorney who, after hearing the story, was happy to help her get out of the mess.  The chance selection of the attorney led Dani to a career change.  She helped to gather information on her soon-to-be ex and realized she really liked the work.  She signed on with the legal office's investigators and was well on her way to earning her own private investigation license when another whim of Fate sent her another way.  The day after her divorce was finalized, Dani was in a convenience store and saw a line of people buying lottery tickets.  The jackpot was huge.  She paid for her soda and bought a ticket and was one of fifteen winners.  With that money, she decided to do some traveling; see the wonders of the world before she got too old to enjoy it.  And, it was while she was visiting the many historic and artistic treasures of Moscow that the Fates once more decided to alter her life plan.

More than anything, Dani has learned how to keep going in the face of adversity.  She never doubts that she is strong, or that she won't be able to accomplish any certain task because she's always managed to do so in the past.    She's a good observer and a good listener; things that made her a good investigator as well as a good artist, seeing more than whats on the surface and able to translate that into her drawings or paintings and able to interpret what she viewed in the field to (mostly) come to the correct conclusions.  Not cocky, she's more assured.  All life's knocks have made her able to remain calm when the shit hits the proverbial fan.

Short description: Rikki grew up in Helsinki, and always wanted to be an airline hostess, ever since she could remember. She had the looks and the confidence and managed to get the grades she needed in school. She learned English, Japanese, Russian and German. When she left school at 18, she applied for a job with Finnair. She did the intense training course and passed with flying colours.

After a year and a half on domestic flights, she was given the option to do the short-haul Helsinki-Moscow run. She is always cheerful when on the job, always helpful and has a lot of patience, especially with irritatingly flirtatious men. The fact that she is gay, and came out to her parents when she was 16, has never interfered with her work. Off the job, she tends to be less gregarious. Time to herself is valuable to her and while she would, eventually, like to find a woman she can settle down with, her ambition at the moment is to get on one of the trans-Atlantic flights. She considers this more important than a permanent relationship, and tends to have a somewhat promiscuous attitude towards other women.

Most of us don't know any Russian, except Dashenka who is a native - I guess it's enough to be interested in the game and the setting. :) Helps if you're a bit fascinated by Russia and its culture, like me, but we're not a band of experts at all...)

There have been a few lines in Russian in the dialogue, but I figure all except Dasha looked those lines up from Google Translate, and overall the dialogue writing is going to be in the Queen's English...

As Luiza said, no Russian is required. You can play an international character, as long as you have a reason to be in Moscow. So a German ambassador in Moscow of sorts would work for me.

As I asked everybody at the start, Please do think of a way to get your character into the group... If you are going to join, you might want to ask around in the OOC or PM's to those who are still 'alone'.

Coming to the Kremlin is not really an option anymore as I think everybody who was planning on going there, has arrived. Meaning we're about to move out :)

Hmm, seven I think, counting in Relikai and Nintentoast who are new to the game and haven't made any IC posts yet. Eight if RedEve is still on board. A guy character would fit in nicely I would say (though I know one or two would dispute that...)  :P

There are currently five women with two guns holding out against the aliens at the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin, and my character about to head into town after discovering something is terribly wrong; she will hook up with the others in the morning, either at the Kremlin or a little after they have left and got out into the city.

Short description: Standing 6 feet tall and broad Jeremiah had always been the popular kid in school and then in college he came from a well off family and as such got most things in life easily. As someone who was in the habit getting things easily he likes to think life is tough for him… but realizes he is better off than most.

Not a nerd but not a Dumb Jock either Jeremiah was somewhere in between, athletic with a good stamina and a gifted Swimmer he has no idea that even then he is not ready for what is to come.

He is in Moscow simply because the place intrigued him and he was taking a small break before he went back to his life. His stay in Moscow was supposed to be 3 weeks. 3 weeks where he would taste the local cuisine and maybe get to know the culture as well.

Actually I think there are three guns. Dasha's character has a rifle and an assault rifle, and mine has a pistol.

And don't forget that my lesbian character counts as male in any sort of distribution analysis.

Occupation: Freelance Photographer and ameture artist.
Residence: Small studio Apartment in France. Cosmos Hotel?

Short description: Luc is a young photographer from Paris and also dabble in painting and sculpting. He is open minded willing to believe that anything possible until proven otherwise. He makes friends easily and looks at every situation with a glass half full attitude. He is a bit of a womanizer, but also tends to wear his heart on his sleeve which usually ends up with one or more broken hearts and shattered dreams. He loves being a photographer as he often gets to take photo's of sexy women and famous people. He is currently in Moscow on a photoshoot with Elin Vestermark (We are still discussing this and so it might change).

Skills  Luc is good with a camera, paintbrush or sculpting tools and has some basic knowledge about computers and electronics. He is also a fairly decent cook.

We are still discussing things via PM, but it looks pretty good so far.

He has already sold the idea to me; Elin was a part-time model in my character sheet so I'm cool with having her meet up with Luc in Moscow (and having already done a session with him there before the aliens strike?). We're working out how to make them hook up on the road through the Moscow night, sometime soon after she leaves the place where she was staying.
