QuoteEnbridge deleted 1,000km² of BC's islands off of its public videos and maps to convince the public its pipeline and oil tanker plan is less dangerous than it really is.

I'm just terribly saddened by the way these companies think they can change facts to gain favor. This is disgusting, it's awful. It's wrong. I don't much have an opinion about the shipping of oil but when this company has already had accidents in the past and now the way they campaign something new is by completely removing the obstacles from the picture the public sees. Ugh. *Rageface*

That pipeline is never getting built. Even if Harper rams it in. First Nation tribes in Northern British Columbia are united in apposing it, and have threatened (and its sure as hell not an idle one) to stop it from being built. They have the law and the fact that no one knows that back country better then the hunters and trappers in the tribes who still work on it. No matter how badly Embridge wants to treat it like one, this isn't a third world nation where anything they do will be under the radar. Embrige is going drown in Red Tape, and civil disobedience.

I don't think they willfully misrepresented the layout of the channel. The graphic looks like the usual PR fluff. Some their other actions seem a bit shady.  Me, I'm all for stopping them.

Energy indepence my ass. How much of our domestic product gets shipped to Japan and Europe?

Enbridge is disgustingly misleading the public. That image needs to be seen.

Now that is a lot of green, but I think in the heads of the PR hacks it was no big deal.  As a Sailor, yeah the is a major difference.  A lot!

Signed and shared.  I looked up the region on Google Maps, and many of those islands are conservancy regions.  We're not just talking danger to the ships, but also danger to rare, if not unique, bioregions.

The FUNNY part is the Big Oil INSISTS that there is not enough demand in the US to keep up production in the US without exporting product.
