Also your spells are metagaming. You are spending the next week or so on a boat as far as you were concerned when you prepared those spells, so why have greensight and campfire wall?

Prepping divine spells require a set prayer time and one hour. So you need to set a clearly define moment of the day to pray, so the odds of that time of day being the same as when you wake up on the beach is highly unlikely.

Also stopping to pray for one hour at the start of the game would be boring as all hell.

It started like any other day. The waters were calm, the air thick with the smells of salt, seaweed, and belied fish. Ah! It was the kinda day to put hairs on yer chest! The crew had finished loading supplies.  It was a relaxin' leave, and everyone had spent it well. Fair Weathers Barnie was predicting a smooth trip out of port - smoother than a lady's bosom, if I recalls it well enough. Everything was righter than rain, or so we thought.

But me thinks I’m getting ahead of myself.  Who am I you ask? Well I was born to my Elf Mother and a bastard of a father.  A Commander in the Navy you know.  I’m sure you’ve run from him at least once with an illustrious life as yours.  Well anyway my father had teachers upon teachers train me, and even my father trained me during the so little free time I had. He made sure I was well educated, and well mannered. Needless to say I wasn’t having any of this willingly and one day, I had spotted two pretty girls. Naturally waving and flirting, I didn’t notice my father walking up behind me. He grabbed me by the shoulder and said something to the affect of "You can flirt when your lessons are over. You have our family name to uphold young man". After he left, I decided I had had enough of this training, and elegance. I went to my room, getting my weak sword and filling a few pouches with gold, and was ready to leave. When I walked out the door my mother ran to me and gave me her favorite sword, and told me " It's yours now. I know how rough it is out there at your age, so you'll need it". I kissed her on the cheek goodbye, and ran. Not looking back. I bought a room on a ship, where it was heading I didn’t know. And would you look at me now? Working security on a transport ship, its different from my usual privateering gigs but bills had to be paid. 

Anyway Where was I? Oh yes and there was I, thinking I was out for a simple escort to the next port when I learned things were not oh-so-right in my corner of this small world. Seems His Majesty's finest was themselves hoodwinked - duped into thinking they were betrayed by yours truly.  No joke. There was some other captain out there, harassing the shipping lanes, and violating protection contracts in my good name. So naturally my father and his goons come to find me.  You’d think he’d figure out I don’t want to pend time in his office “Sorting things out” I’m supporting myself and I won’t be lectured by that crazy coot. I gots me a map. And I gots me my weapons.  I gots me passage on a ship to a neighboring port leaving right under his nose.  So come with me.  New port, new faces, maybe even a new ship.  We’ll see if I can’t take my father’s navy on one of these days.
