So, I'd like to try out the Legend system. I would prefer to find a DM for it, but if that's not possible, I'll run it myself.

Here's the site to find the Legend System: ruleofcool.com

If I do end up running, this'll be the character creation rules:

4th level
3-5 players
16, 14, 14, 12, 10, 10 ability scores
Max Hitpoints for all levels

Homebrew content will be a case by case basis. I suggest making combat oriented characters, as the first adventure at least will have plenty of fighting.

Sounds interesting, count me in :3

ShadowFox89

That's one possible. If we don't find anyone to run it, I'll do so myself.

Don't expect a lot of sex in the first "episode", it's going to be mostly action.

If you have either questions let me know either on here or on AIM. I've never played the system myself, but I've read over the rules.

edit: To clarify, the setting for the game will be Modern with magic being real.

By modern do you mean modern earth with magic?  Or a modern tech level world?

I might be interested in playing; have to look over the rules and such. Is it going to be more story based combat, or more like hack'n'slash/run'n'gun?

The first "episode" is going to be John Woo style run 'n gun. After that, it's whatever the group decides.

Oh, and for location, you'll be in Osaka Japan running an Okonomiyaki shop (google it). Everyone should have known each other for a while. One key detail you'll need to figure out, is the Mystery Box. What is in the Mystery Box? It's locked away deep in the basement of the shop with binding prayer strips to keep it from being moved or opened.

So all characters will be running this little restaurant together?

ShadowFox89

 Yup.

And use these firearms instead of the ones presented in the base Legend book

Bolt-action Rifle – Two-handed Main weapon, range [Extreme], [Repeater 5], move action to reload, 2d6+KOM base damage.
Revolver – One-handed Special weapon, range [Close], [Magnum], [Repeater 7], move action to reload, 1d8+KOM base damage.
Semi-Automatic Rifle – Two-handed Main weapon, range [Long], [Repeater 20], move or swift action to reload, 2d6+KOM base damage.
Semi-Automatic Pistol – One-handed Hold-out weapon, range [Close], [Repeater 15], move or swift action to reload, 1d6+KOM base damage.
Shotgun – Two-handed Main weapon, range [Medium], [Repeater 6], move action to reload, 2d4+KOM base damage, +1d4 within [Close] range.

We're playing Osaka Street Stories then, but with handmade characters instead of the pregens?

Count me in. For All The Spots. ALL THE SPOTS!

Or one, I guess.

ShadowFox89

We are, but I ask that players please do not look at the pdf for it......

Luckily I remember nothing of it anyways.

Gonna make a Dwarven rifleman - worst marksman in the world when he's sober, best in the world when he's sloshed.

Would playing as a monk throw things off, if I don't want to be a gunslinger?

You can play a monk, rogue, ranger, barbarian, paladin, tactician, shaman, sage, vigilante/sentai, necromancer, lich.... Need I go on?

If you would prefer not going through the process of character creation, I can post the pre-gen characters.

Or mix and match the above.

Kimera

I think I will try making a character myself before resorting to pre-gens

ShadowFox89

If anyone needs help, I can help them here or on AIM.

Adding a houserule that, if you character has a non-human base form (dragon, demon, sentient construct, giant, etc), you can change shape once per round as a [free] action. This shape change has no effect on any of your stats or effects towards you, it is purely cosmetic.

Gunbeard Beardgun, dwarven sniper extraordinaire.

I also have a Scottish Dialect Converter and a Drunk Post converter at the ready.

ShadowFox89

Everyone, look at Glyphstone's sheet. That's a good example of a sheet. If you need to know how to put that template up, bug Glyphstone. I've got no clue.

TheGlyphstone

1) Download the Character Sheet PDF from the Legend website.
2) Upload the Character Sheet to the E Wiki.
3) Fill out the Character Sheet.
4) ???
5) Profit.

TheHangedOne

It's not that I need help with coming up with the sheet, the system is easy enough for me to understand (not my first rodeo). I just wanted to know if a melee specialist would throw a gear in the cogs, since you said it was run'n'gun.

A melee specialist would work just as well, there will be a lot of close combat as well as ranged.
