Severus' relationship with James Potter was rocky to say the least while they were in school, but as adults, something happened.  He saw something in the other man he never expected to.  As their relationship developed Severus found himself happy for once.  The night James and Lily were killed Severus thought the pain would kill him.  In fact, the only thing that saved him was knowing Harry would need him one day. 

When the time came Severus once again sacrificed it all for the son of his one true love.  He had to act hostile toward the boy, to keep relations just as frozen as they had been with James at first, no matter how much it killed him inside.  When Harry returned for his sixth year Severus was ordered to resume Occlumency lessons, even though both men knew it would probably do little good.

Severus would have thought Harry had learned his lesson the first time, but apparently not, as the boy finds himself in the Penseive yet again.  Only this time he sees Severus and James in bed together.  History repeats itself, showing Harry a whole new side to the potions master, and leaving Severus to explain everything.  Can Severus have another chance at happiness?
