To some, steampunk is a catchall term, a concept in search of a visual identity. To me, it’s essentially the intersection of technology and romance. – Jake von Slatt

We choose the foolish of the world to astonish the wise.
The weak to embarrass the strong.
Nothing is impossible, we must hope for everything.
You don’t have to understand things for them to be
You just have to believe in the unbelievable...

Songs with children in them need to be linked.

Hey everyone.  I'd like to take a moment to compliment you on your musical tastes and the wide variety of songs found here in this thread.

Also a reminder that no images of anyone under the age of 18 are allowed here on E.  That includes embedded videos.  So please, if the music video you are sharing has kids in it make sure to use [ url] code instead of just pasting the address and letting the video embed.

The first post has been edited to reflect this.

Thank you!

Don't be fooled by the christmas decorations, the program leader's bear costume, the goofiness or the outrageous accent. Miyavi embodies everything wrong and everything right with modern Japanese pop music.

A step further back in time. "Sukiyaki" by Kyu Sakamoto was the first post-ww2 Japanese song that managed to become popular the west, hitting the charts in both Europe and USA.

The time machines ticks one more click back, and gives you the marching song of the Imperial Japanese Army of WW2. Easy listening it isn't.

Click, click, click. Japanese classic music has a haunting beauty and harkens back to the islands' rich cultural heritage. This song is - of course - called "Cherry Blossoms".

Finishing off this little Nippon time travel with what is possibly one of the oldest Japanese music form - taiko drumming. Its roots go back to the 6th century and has had a fairly recent revival.
