Where do you go when you don't want to catch them all? Where do you go when you've seen everything in your region? Where do you go if your love of pokémon and battling has taken you places but you crave more? You go where ace trainers earn their credentials, where rangers learn to protect the things they hold dear, where technicians learn to manage complex pokémon databases and storage systems, where scientists form their first theisis, where historians turn back the clock to see what might loom ahead, and where champions are born..

Located in the picturesque Elzebelt Region and settled just outside Benfield, the region's largest and busiest city, the Poké Trainer's Academy takes the brightest young minds and the most promising of talents and molds them to shape the world of tomorrow for the betterment of man and pokémon alike. Scouts from the PTA roam every region, looking for rising stars that long to be much more than wandering trainers. To qualify, a trainer must be of at least seventeen years of age, posess at minimum six badges from reputable gyms, travel with at least one pokémon with which a bond of trust has formed, and be spoken of highly by at least one reputable source (ie; well-known pokémon professor, gym leader, or other authority). With these guidelines in place, the PTA recruits extremely selectively, yet when they do, the trainers they gather come from all walks of life.

At the PTA students can expect to meet a wide variety of friends, teachers, pokémon, and even rivals!

Rich. Poor. City kid. Country bumpkin. Cool and calculated. Aggressive and wild.

The Poké Trainers Academy has it all!

Students will be roomed with a partner chosen at random. They will then be given an Academy Watch which not only looks stylish and tells the time, but it also reads the student's vitals - and the vitals of his or her roomate! Not only that, but it allows two-way communication between the roomate pairs, faculty, and other friends they add to the system. If a student's partner is in trouble, they'll know it! At the PTA, students don't just learn to study, battle, and research; they also learn how to take care of each other! The Academy emphasizes teamwork and caring for each other above all else.

The Academy's faculty is comprised of experienced professionals in their respective fields. Former gym leaders, published researchers, renowned historians, and top rangers all call the PTA their home away from home and they're all here to teach students to be the best, like no one ever was.

(Except maybe the headmaster, of course! Ah hahaha! -Headmaster Falkmore)

Classes take place in and around the campus using top-notch facilities and training methods that are constantly being updated with every new discovery. The forest and fields surrounding the campus are teeming with wild pokémon for trainers to test their mettle against. Not only that, the PTA also sports impressive battle arenas for one-on-one or team competition! When class is over, students can relax in the academy's various facilities, because the PTA doesn't just work hard - it plays hard! Tennis courts, pools, basketball courts, a fitness center, a cafe, and even a lounge all open day or night! If the Poké Trainers Academy doesn't provide enough excitement, then Benfield is just a bus ride away!

Be on the lookout, trainers, a scout from the PTA might be nearby!

I'm assuming non-legendary Pokemon only but what level of evolution would be acceptable?

MissFire

Yes, no legendaries. As far as evolutions go, use your own judgement here. These aren't new trainers, but not old vets either. A mix would be best. Battles that take place between students that aren't part of the story can be decided by the players however they wish, weather it be purely through RP, through discussion beforehand, or use of the dice bot.

Name: Bridgette LeFeu
Home Region: Kalos
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Lesbian

Student Details
Major: Ace Trainer

Pokemon:
-Athos, Blaziken
-Porthos, Monferno
-Armais, Pignite

Strengths: Bridgette has an exceptionally strong bond with her pokemon. She does not consider them pets or tools to be used, but friends. As she has been training her 'Three Musketeers' exclusively, the trio of pokemon have also grown rather attached to each other and support each other in battle frequently. Bridgette's team is mono-type but plays her strengths extremely well and she often comes up with odd or surprising strategies that put her team's strengths to use. Despite her smoking habit, Bridgette has an excess of energy and is extremely fit. She will fight to protect those she cares about.

Weaknesses: With Bridgette's excess of energy comes a bit of recklessness. She throws herself into situations she is vastly under prepared for with little care for what might happen if she fails. She can often land herself into trouble or put herself in unwinnable situations. Despite her fighting instinct and creative strategy, there are times when she is simply outmatched thanks to her mono-type team. Since Bridgette sees her pokemon as friends, she does not keep them in pokeballs and refuses treatment at pokecenters for them, instead relying on normal medical procedure to treat wounds. While this strengthens her bond with them and makes her pokemon tougher than they might naturally be, old battle injuries can come back to haunt them from time to time.

Look/Appearance: Tall and lanky with an athletic build. She has long hair the color of ash and eyes like deep amber. Her clothing is old and worn, betraying her rather low-class upbringing. She usually wears a white button-up shirt, red pants with suspenders, and clunky brown boots. Her clothing and hair have fire seals affixed to them to prevent burns. Since she often carries around her fire-type pokemon, this has in the past caused her clothing to come aflame. Thankfully the seals prevent this, meaning she will no longer accidentally flash people as her shirt burns up. She has a slightly grubby and unkempt appearance and often smells like smoke.

Student History
Personality:She might very well have some form of ADHD. Bridgette wants to do something, anything. All. The. Time. She hates being cooped up indoors and prefers to be able to roam on her own. Even when she's standing still she's tapping her foot. She is a huge fan of competition and always gives everything one hundred percent. Her attitude is relentlessly positive and energetic. She is almost always smiling and happy, even if she loses a battle.  When she's not battling or taking care of her pokemon she can be found training in martial arts.

Background: Bridgette lost her parents when she was just a baby and was raised instead by her uncle. She started out as a temperamental and reckless child and would often get herself into trouble stealing or committing acts of minor vandalism. That she and her uncle were both desperately poor did not help the situation and Bridgette was sometimes seen in the company of thugs, bullies, and gangsters. Vowing to turn the child around, her uncle, a martial arts instructor by trade, enrolled her in his classes. She took to it like a fish to water and the little Feu found a way to let out all that youthful energy and frustration. She began studying like mad, practicing not only with her uncle, but on her own time as well. She rented (or borrowed or stole) kung-fu movies so that she might watch them and mimic the moves she saw on screen.

Bridgette did not show any interest in pokemon until she turned fifteen. One day she was prowling around her usual back alley haunts when she saw a group of young hooligans berating and abusing a torchic. Imagining herself as some king of Kung Fu Jesus, she lept into the fray to stop the abuse! She found herself soundly overwhelmed and pummeled to the ground. It was not the preferred outcome. The little pokemon, however, was grateful for the noble gesture and the two were inseprable ever since. Athos, as she called him, became Bridgette's best friend. Later came the chimchar Porthos and, finally, Armais, a tepig. Where most trainers would catch a variety of pokemon or expand their team to more than three, Bridgette decided this strange mono-type team of three was good enough. Her 'Three Musketeers'. She has focused exclusively on training them and strengthening their bonds. It's come to a point where the trio of pokemon are fiercely loyal to her and even mime her movements from time-to-time.

Determined to develop a style of martial arts exclusively for pokemon, Bridgette travels from place to place, besting the fiercest trainers she can find. Rather infamous for her consistently upbeat attitude, silly demeanor, kung-fu obsession, and off-the-wall battle strategies, she is something of a known quantity among other trainers. Some (most) consider her to be a joke - but that's just the people that haven't faced her in battle. Those that she's fought know her as a fierce and unpredictable opponent who uses atypical tactics to win, even when hopelessly outmatched. Even when facing defeat she keeps the smile on her face, considering every battle a lesson, win or lose.

Pretty interested in this as well, though I have no idea who I'm going to play and with what pokemon, beyond probably a member of the Bulbasaur line and Lapras. *goes to think about this*

Definatly intrested, very good set up. I am toying with the idea of a brilliant scientist type with some eevees evolved and non who specializes in genetics. So even the researcher types have to have won 6 badges??

Wolfy

MissFire

This is a guided sandbox, yes. And even science-types do need badges.

You do not need a college degree for this.

Just kidding. He would fit into the 'science' category, but you can say he has a focus on entomology. I just don't want to have to world build for every single type, so keeping things in broad categories will be a little easier on me.

Warlock

Working on an archaeologist, should hopefully have something by tomorrow. With a more adventuring, Lara Croft or Indiana Jones, bent. Fairly mixed team with a Kabuto(ps), Mismagious, Gardevoir and Honedge.

Silk

Got a lot of interesting concepts coming up :D while I'm sitting here trying to pick one mid/high range power pokemon xD

MissFire

We're not playing hard and fast by the rules, so just go with teams that you like without worrying too much.

I know I know <3 it's just that concept wise, it doesn't make sense to be able to attain 6+ gym badges with just a Metapod, a pokemons got to have some bite to it to make that happen. :3
