As an ASMR hunter, Audiophiliac and Synesthette, I've definitely become enamored with some of the videos available on youtube. I wanted to know if there was anyone that experiences ASMR or at least Audiophilia, and how. Plus, if anyone else out there has Synesthesia, I'd be interested in chatting about that.

ASMR stands for Auto Sensory Meridian Response and is the name for a family of responses triggered by a myriad of sounds or visuals. The common thread in them is generally that they are generated by another nearby person. Some common triggers are nails tapping/scratching, clicking or crinkling noises, whispering, accents, receiving help, massages or customer service... I know, odd list. There's more information here.

I've always been highly fond of metallic clicking, whirring and grinding (which sort of overlaps with my technophilia and has a lot to do with why I like Iron Man and Transformers movies). ASMR-wise I love crinkling plastics, though they don't ever seem to trigger me that well. Anywho, I thought I'd post some favored videos of mine and see if there was anyone else out there that got the mysterious tingles and twinges in the spine and head that we know and love as ASMR. Listening with headphones is recommended.

PS: if you don't 'get' ASMR this will seem insane to you, lol.

Anyway, this may seem weird, but I must say I do have a lot of -philias and obsessions, many that aren't particularly sexual, so this is the sort of non-RP chatter you can expect from me. Let me know what you think!

LaOnomatopoeia

Years ago, I found out I was diagnosed with Ordinal Linguistic Personification. To this day, though I still have a bit of trouble believing that it's not something that everyone just happens to do on impulse.

I'm also a fan of metallic clicking, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

I'll tell you one of my favorite sounds though happen to be the of pouring liquids (glass clinking especially) and carbonate bubbles.

You would think everyone does it. I was pretty baffled when I realized that was a 'thing' not everyone did. Days don't have personalities to me (just colors textures and vague 'feelings') but numbers and letters do. Anyway, 2 (canary yellow, very upright and civil. Hard like ceramic with a leathery texture) or 3(blue, easygoing and kind, lacks assertiveness, soft and fuzzy yet dense) of the videos in my playlist include hi def fluid pouring and lots of fizzing. Enjoy.
