Dragon Ball: A new World (Recruitment)

Alright, E!  I've made attempts at this in the past via other mediums and I've always come up short on interest and/or activity.  I figured I'd at least ask around here and see what I could get in response.  As the name of the thread suggests this is about Dragonball originally created by Akira Toriyama with a new take.  I'd like to approach this as an alternate universe retelling of the story starting all the way at the beginning.  Perhaps it's not Goku that landed on Earth or the saiyan never hit their head.  Maybe the Red Ribbon Army weren't really the bad guys?  A chance for us to place our own characters and ideas into the mix. 

What I want from you all is to see who's interested and what kind of game you'd want to play.  Freeform or system and if using a system what's your preference?  Want it locked to a small group or have a more open sandbox style of play?  What types of adult play would you all be comfortable with and how smut-focused would you want the RP to be?

Name: Matthew Shaw

Personality: Emotional, headstrong and aloof are all words that would describe Matt fairly well. He's the type to let his emotions get the best of him when pushed and thus act without thinking. That being said it's hard to crack his seemingly care free nature and get him upset. He acts like nothing bothers him even if things do. He takes things seriously but normally acts as if everything is a joke because he understands that people need levity in serious situations or the world around them might seem like its crashing down. The type to never give his troubles to others while constantly taking on the burdens of his friends, Matt is quick to try and make friends and slow to let them go.
History:
At the early age of six, Matt was taken by his uncle from Yunzabit Heights when his parents fell deathly ill from a sickness that modern medicine couldn't cure. His uncle, the famous adventurer Arron Shaw decided to dedicate the rest of his life to finding seven magical spheres called Dragon Balls, rumored to grant a single wish with each use of the orbs. Together he and Matt traveled the world to find the items in question, often turning up short but always finding clues that would no doubt lead them closer and closer to the dragon balls. During his travels, Matt learned street fighting from his grandfather who was a championship winning street fighter in Ireland, quickly mastering the skill so that he wouldn't be a burden in the event of danger. Matt took to fighting like a fish in water and his mastery of the single martial art wasn't enough. Soon he was learning from any master he could in any given area he happened to find himself in during his quest for the mythical Dragon Balls.

By the time Matt had turned five, he and his Uncle had collected six of the seven balls and in order to get the last ball, the two had to compete in a fighting tournament held on a small island off the coast of Japan, the grand prize being the Dragon Ball and a set of clothes that would change at the wearers command. Both Matt and Arron entered the competition and in the end, the two had to fight one another. After a fierce battle, neither one of their prideful mentalities allowing them to simply give up, Matt revealed he had created his own form of Martial Arts that blended all the strengths he had picked up from various masters. Using the Yami Akuma style Matt had driven his Uncle into a corner, one that forced Arron to reveal that he had an ulterior motive to finding the dragon balls. Arron, a member of a group called the Red Ribbon Army unleashed a powerful blast of ki that knocked Matt out of the ring, and went on to steal the Dragon Balls, wishing that he would never age again, gaining immortality in the process.

The Dragon Balls spread around the world again, effectively damning Matt's parents, crushing his hopes and dreams, and teaching Matt that the only person you can really trust is yourself. Left broken, and defeated, Matt continued his quest for the dragon balls so that he could undo the wish his Uncle had made while also studying under other masters in the hope of finding a way to keep Arron from unleashing any sort of true terror on the world if Matt couldn't find the Dragon Balls.

Flan

Name: Flan
Race: Alien (specific species unknown)
Age: 19
Gender: female
Sexuality: pansexual

Personality: Flan is a kind, fairly lax and laid back girl. She keeps a carefree attitude about most things and tends not to give a lot of thought or worry to most issues, preferring to just "go with the flow" as it were. There are two big exceptions to this however, things in which she can become very spirited and intense. The first is food. With her power incentivizing a heavy diet she's developed a love of all kinds of culinary delights, and can be easily motivated to pretty much any task if food is offered as a reward. The second is fighting. Having grown up under a renown martial artist, Flan was instilled with an adoration for combat from an early age, and is always down for a good fight, whether as a participant or a spectator.

History: Flan is the adopted daughter of the "great hero" and martial arts master Rocc E. Rhode. As the story goes, Rocc was facing a mighty dragon that had been terrorizing a local village, and after slaying the beast with his bare hands he discovered the baby Flan sleeping in a "nest" of treasure. It was assumed that she was the hybrid offspring of the dragon and one of the maidens that had been given over to it as a sacrifice, and feeling pity for her Rocc adopted her and took her under his wing, convincing the people that even a monster could be raised into a valiant and disciplined fighter under his teachings. Having grown up under his guidance she would become a strong yet kindhearted young woman, yet another example of Rocc's greatness.

Of course almost all of this story was a lie, as are most tales of the fighter's great deeds. While there had in fact been a dragon, and Rocc had boasted his ability to slay it, he did not in fact defeat it with his bare hands. In fact the moment he came face to face with the hulking monster Rocc was about to flee in fear, but at that exact instant a strange space pod came crashing down to Earth, smashing through the dragon's mountain lair and just so happening to hit the dragon itself, tearing straight through it's body and killing it instantly. Inside the tiny pod was a baby Flan, and with a mixture of worry for how the alien baby would be treated by the public and a selfish desire for fame and fortune, Rocc hid away the alien ship and fabricated the entire tale of defeating the beast himself. Though while the story may have been a lie, it all turned out for the best in the end, with Flan growing up happy and loved by pretty much everyone, rather than feared and experimented on like she might have if people had known she came from beyond the stars.

Techniques:

Caloric Conversion

While all living creatures convert the calories gained from food into energy to fuel themselves, Flan's alien biology makes this process unique in two ways. Firstly the conversion is much more efficient and dramatic than a human's, not only allowing her to use calories to fuel her bodily functions, but also convert it into pure excess ki. Secondly she is able to directly tap into this bodily function at will, meaning she can store up fat in her body and then at will rapidly burn it off for a huge boost in ki and power. Because of this Flan's weight and body shape can vary quite dramatically depending on how much energy she currently has stored up, though she tends to maintain a high calorie diet and keep herself on the larger side so that she always has a reserve of extra energy on hand if needed.

Stone Crushing Combination

A secret technique developed by Flan's father Rocc and passed down to his daughter. Starts with a powerful blow directly to the opponent's crotch, then "follows the rise of inertia" in the foe's body with a flurry of strikes to the chest and finishes with an uppercut to the jaw that sends the opponent flying (note, this only sends the opponent flying when performed by Flan). With this legendary technique Rocc has won several high profile tournaments, the reason for it's effectiveness being quite apparent to most, though he claims that it actually attacks pressure points and "redirects the flow of ki up the body to debilitate the opponent", an excuse that has managed to get around most accusations of blatant cheating. 

Dragon's Breath

Channeling Ki into her belly Flan is able to fire a beam of pure energy from her mouth, the size and power varying based on how many calories she burns to fuel it.

Al "Cool" Hall

Name: Al “Cool” Hall
Race: Coyote Man
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Arrogant and eager to prove himself to others, Al hides a deep insecurity behind a wall of bravado and aggression. While this has led him to making great strides in his training, it also means he has great difficulty in reaching out to others for help, especially if they are his equal or better in regards to skill level. The result is an intense, aloof fighter with a chip on his shoulder.
History: Once nothing more than an orphaned street urchin in Pinap City, it was when the young coyote tried to pick the pocket of the famous Master Buuz that his life changed forever. Master Buuz raised the scared, angry pup instead of turning him over to the authorities, and taught him his own Drunken Fist technique as Al grew older. Yet he never truly got over the fear that came with fending for himself on the streets, and when his master passed away, he felt as though he hadn’t earned the old man’s legacy.

Now having heard of a World Tournament on the horizon, he’s traveled far to prove to himself that he was worth the old master’s time. Maybe then he might find the answers he seeks regarding his parents and who his family is...

Weapons/Equipment: Al’s claws and teeth are as sharp as any knife. He carries a flask or three of strong sake on him at all times.

Buuz Hound: By consuming alcohol, Al can refocus his ki to temporarily make his body stronger, tougher, and more limber at the cost of his reflexes. See below.

Death Howl: Al concentrates his ki before sending out a blast that takes the form of a ghostly coyote to tear into his foe.

Weaknesses: While his tolerance is greater than that of a normal person, too much alcohol burns out his ki, weakening him and effectively turning his own technique against him.

Noodles

Name: Noodles
Race: Gynoid
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality: With a super advanced computer for brain Noodles is a very intelligent girl capable of solving complex problems and equations in fractions of seconds although how body works is still a mystery for her, she should be able to generate blasts, rays and other forms of energy and to read others ki and measure their physical and ki strength if only she knew how to do so. She is also very innocent and friendly and extremely naive and her way of thinking is very simple and straightforward so she she sometimes comes up with solutions she doesn't really how to accomplish and will also be fooled easily.

History: Amberite or Rita as her father called her was the daughter of very intelligent but not so famous scientific in a small town. He was a good man that wanted to help humankind with the advanced technology he was working on, one that would be within anyone's reach but when the red ribbon found out about him they tried to hire him to build an army of androids for them. He refused of course but they wouldn't take a no for an answer and he and Rita knew it, that's when she volunteered to let her father transform her in a gynoid. Unfortunately the red ribbon came first and bombarded his lab killing him and destroying everything of his research while Rita was still on testing phase, she was was far too powerful though to even be scratched by the attack but her memory was completely damaged, effectively making her lose her memory being the first thing she remembers getting out from under the stove with a pot full of noodle soup which she decided to take as a name from then on.

She has super human strength and resistance, albeit she has no discernible ki, but has no training at all as a fighter her current talents being limited just to household chores and cooking. Since her learning program wasn't completed yet not only she isn't aware of her full potential but she doesn't even know how to fully use her current potential either which will lead her to misuse her energy and run out of energy before she is supposed to.

Mind Algorithm

Immunity to hypnosis, confusion, and other mind attacks

Defense Protocol beta phase

Noodles can instantly enter in defense mode in response to any attack rendering her impervious to common attacks, and unlike martial artists she doesn't have to stand in any particular stance. Her speed greatly reduces though, as does her time reaction so she will usually stand still not to reveal this fact.

Explosive Attack Power

Although Noodles has no martial technique and her attacks are direct and straightforward she still holds great destructive power

Par-Fei

Name: Par-Fei
Race: Fox Demon
Age: 8,993
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality: Strong willed and feisty, seductive and treacherous, Par-Fei is very much the model of a "femme fatale". She revels in mischief, whether it be simple pranks or more malicious plots, fueled by the feeling of superiority she gets from fooling or outsmarting others. She is also quite vain, always opting to take the form of the most beautiful, voluptuous woman she can imagine, even when this runs counter intuitive to what her disguise is. The best example being her current priestess disguise, dressing herself up in a very revealing and inappropriate attire despite supposedly being a chaste and pure shrine maiden. Despite all her glaring faults, she's incredibly charismatic and a great liar, allowing her to portray herself as a kind and caring person with unnerving ease.

History: Little is known about Par-Fei's past, though having lived for over eight thousand years she has plenty of experience spreading mischief and wickedness throughout the world. Of course the severity of her acts have always been tempered by the limitations of her power. Being a fox demon her power is measured by the number of tails she possesses, growing an additional one for every thousand years she lives. However while her current power isn't anything to scoff at, it isn't until growing all nine tails that a fox demon can reach their true potential, and only then can she be able to take her schemes to a much grander scale. In the meantime the treacherous canine has been pursuing other methods of increasing her power, as well as laying the ground works for her true plans once she obtains her full strength, whatever they may be. Her current guise is that of a traveling priestess, using her "holy" powers to help the people she encounters in her travels. Of course most misfortunes she helps cure tend to be created by her in the first place, but that's besides the point.

Weapons/Equipment: a variety of sealing tags and prayer beads that allow her to channel "holy" spells
Techniques:

Fox Fire

Utilizing her demonic energy Par-Fei is able to ignite her ki into mythical fire, ranging anywhere in scale from tiny candle-like wisps to sweeping torrents of flame. 

Third Eye Hex Sealing

Par-Fei places a sealing tag on the opponent's body, preventing them from channeling ki or other types of energy to that portion of their body, cutting off ki to their entire body if it is placed on their torso (the center of the body). The effects of the hex can be reversed by simply removing the tag from the afflicted area, so Par-Fei typically tries to employ this technique stealthily, placing the tag on a hard to reach spot of the opponent's body when they're not looking and then attacking before they can fully grasp what's happening.

True Form

While she typically takes the form of a beautiful woman, Par-Fei's true form is that of giant, demonic fox with 8 tails (one of every thousand years she's been alive). Assuming this form allows her to unleash her true power, increasing her raw strength and ki several fold compared to her human form.

Sounds interesting. I could see it becoming some kind of Super Sentai thing almost, where rather than Goku being the primary focus, it's more of a constant team effort than a solo act. Everyone has a skill from a different background that makes them unique from the rest of their peers. Maybe one is a fledgling Saiyan, one is a spawn of Piccolo/some random Namek if we're breaking all continuity, someone who's a cyborg or android, etc. so there's plenty of variety. Or even just someone like Bulma who can use crazy advanced gadgets to fight but doesn't know martial arts or anything and isn't particularly strong.

If I may, I would suggest having the initial backdrop be the World Martial Arts Tournament, a good place for everyone to meet up if they're all going to start out as strangers. Just like at the end of Goku's second tournament where he lost to Tienshinhan, immediately after it, a horrible tragedy strikes and great crisis looms, so after everyone starts to feel some kinship from sparring, they feel motivated to band together to combat the trouble, whatever it may be.

That's a good approach nd not too far from one idea I had.  Starting point, I think, would vary depending on how the game would be run.  Small game vs sandbox and all that.  I do like the group approach in comparison, though.  I got pretty tired of Dragonball being focused entirely on the least interested character in the series and giving absolutely no focus to anyone else.

I would be interested in this as well! As long as things like Saiyans and the Majin and what not could be incorporated in! I like the idea of Goku maybe not having come to earth but at one point Saiyans would have had to!

Seems like a good idea but to me the approach might be a bit to open! We have to establish a time line for this universe and what our version of dragon ball looks like! However that is in the fun to!

Part of the timeline I was leaving open for people's input and votes, actually.  My initial thoughts were to have it based at the start of dragonball simply for the sake of having everything new and fresh.  Everyone's starting at the bottom and through development we get on up to Z and maybe Super levels.  Given that we're writing our own story, though, it could easily take place sooner or later than that.  It could be a new timeline or new universe all together. 

I'm not so picky about the races in general but I'm wary of majin.  That said they are among my favorite races and I even have two different majin characters of my own from past RPs.  The problem comes up with trying to balance them out at lower levels of play.

I would be interested. Mathim's ideas seem pretty solid to me. As far as system/no system goes I normally lean towards no system or very 'system light.' I normally have a preference for playing Saiyan or Cyborg/Android so if those are included it suits me.

I'd be fine with a few saiyans but I don't want over exposure.  So far it looks like only one or two people may be interested in a Saiyan so that all works out for me.  I'm definitely up for including the various types of cyborgs/androids.  My initial thoughts would have been to progress the technology as the RP went from the likes of Eighter and Tao on up to what we see later.  It doesn't have to be that way, though, since we know that the likes of 17/18 could train to get stronger rather than stagnate.  Thoughts or preferences?

If things go as planned the group only starts at low levels.  So, unless you plan on switching later I'd suggest it'd be a character you're comfortable with growing too.  Not a problem for me, though.  I'd love to see Launch get the love she deserves.  Even if I would normally encourage custom over canon characters. 


I really love the interest we're getting here.  I'll hold it out until after the holidays and keep all the discussion going until then.  If anyone has any other ideas or requests or anything like that toss'em out.

True enough.  I love humans.  There's enough crazy Earth based stuff for plenty of variety between werewolves, vampires, the three eyed clan, demi-gods, demons, magicians, martial artists, cyborgs, Psychics, etc.  I know some aren't explicitly 'human' but in the scheme of things in DB-verse they'd all be lumped into the same basic group.

Ah, you beat me to it, I was going to mention demons like Dabura as possibilities. There are also the ogres who work for King Yama. But there are animal people like Oolong, Boss Rabbit, the wolf man, Giran, etc., and since shapeshifting is a thing, that might be someone's specialty.

On the theme of demons/supernatural characters, I was thinking of female fox demon to fill a pseudo-piccolo-esque role, i.e. starts as more of an antagonist before becoming an ally. She takes the form of a beautiful woman, but is able to transform into a giant, multiple tailed fox (which could make for a good counter measure if any of the saiyans want to go great ape and rampage around)

I like the switch up to bring in more magical characters.  It always felt like an aspect that was left alone and unexplored after a few small times in DB.  They only started bringing it back in tiny pieces with Babidi/Bibidi and a few bits in super.  I love the character pictures too.  I was hoping we'd get some magical elements involved and would've even dropped one of my own in there if no one else did.  It even forces the magical sorts to get creative to hide some of their stuff for the tournament so no one calls out "cheating". 

Since not everyone else mentioned it could I get a rough idea on what types of characters everyone might be interested in playing?  Could be more than one idea you have.  Just to kind of get a rough gauge and maybe start some planning out.  Also see if I need to fill in any roles or focus more on DMing or whatever.  If there's any arcs or plots you want to try out or try to introduce let me know here or in PM.

I was sort of leaning towards a typical fighter with a flare for dramatics, using darkness type ki control such as Shikmaru's shadow possession or Hiei's Dragon of the Darkness Flame.

That being said I haven't settled on a face claim and the like. Also are we looking at some sort of light rpg element such as learning new skills through IC training? Possibly starting with two or three low powered attacks or skills that get better as the story goes on?

If it's a small group then a lot of it can be built on trusting each other more than having a system.  Keep a lot of the training and such plot or story based rather than just trying to crunch for new techniques and stuff.  I'd say that it needs to be kept reasonable, though.  No one's starting with a hundred techniques or things like Kaioken, obviously  May even start with things like flight being an oddity like it was early in DB.

I do want to clarify that my earlier post is going to force people to play Earth-based beings.  We know in canon aliens visited Earth before, during, and after Dragonball.  Not just Goku.  If you can get a good backstory then it could work.

I would say add a padding to the image to keep them from getting out of hand big, do we have a limit on where we can be from, equipment and starting techniques?

I might need more help on how to add padding.  Never really dabbled in coding like that.  As far as equipment and starting techniques it should probably remain reasonable. Things you'd expect from DragonBall rather than Z or Super.  I don't want to put a hard limit down because I know some people are going to want to make some of their own techniques and we might have to play it be ear.  I will say that it'd probably be good to keep any space ships temporarily out of commission or in need of refueling/repair if you are a recently arrived alien.  Or confiscated by local authorities.  I can't think of any real restrictions on weapons but throw it out there if you have something questionable or specific in mind.

I like that idea.  To some extent it passes around pseudo-DM roles to other people as needed.  Possibly help with people's personal side stories and all that.

I have no idea how to make a a gynoid to magician transformation work but that's an eerily sexy combo.  Thank you so much for the formatting! 

I've never wanted to fight against Arale in my life but now I do!

Never wanted to fight Arale?  Really?  That's been the dream fight for me for probably two of my characters. 



Seeing how I forgot about including Arale style androids and cyborgs and such I think I might have to rescind my previous apprehension about Majin.  We'd just need to come up with an agreed backstory to explain their existence early in this universe.

Name: Matthew Shaw

Personality: Emotional, headstrong and aloof are all words that would describe Matt fairly well. He's the type to let his emotions get the best of him when pushed and thus act without thinking. That being said it's hard to crack his seemingly care free nature and get him upset. He acts like nothing bothers him even if things do. He takes things seriously but normally acts as if everything is a joke because he understands that people need levity in serious situations or the world around them might seem like its crashing down. The type to never give his troubles to others while constantly taking on the burdens of his friends, Matt is quick to try and make friends and slow to let them go.
History:
At the early age of six, Matt was taken by his uncle from Yunzabit Heights when his parents fell deathly ill from a sickness that modern medicine couldn't cure. His uncle, the famous adventurer Arron Shaw decided to dedicate the rest of his life to finding seven magical spheres called Dragon Balls, rumored to grant a single wish with each use of the orbs. Together he and Matt traveled the world to find the items in question, often turning up short but always finding clues that would no doubt lead them closer and closer to the dragon balls. During his travels, Matt learned street fighting from his grandfather who was a championship winning street fighter in Ireland, quickly mastering the skill so that he wouldn't be a burden in the event of danger. Matt took to fighting like a fish in water and his mastery of the single martial art wasn't enough. Soon he was learning from any master he could in any given area he happened to find himself in during his quest for the mythical Dragon Balls.

By the time Matt had turned five, he and his Uncle had collected six of the seven balls and in order to get the last ball, the two had to compete in a fighting tournament held on a small island off the coast of Japan, the grand prize being the Dragon Ball and a set of clothes that would change at the wearers command. Both Matt and Arron entered the competition and in the end, the two had to fight one another. After a fierce battle, neither one of their prideful mentalities allowing them to simply give up, Matt revealed he had created his own form of Martial Arts that blended all the strengths he had picked up from various masters. Using the Yami Akuma style Matt had driven his Uncle into a corner, one that forced Arron to reveal that he had an ulterior motive to finding the dragon balls. Arron, a member of a group called the Red Ribbon Army unleashed a powerful blast of ki that knocked Matt out of the ring, and went on to steal the Dragon Balls, wishing that he would never age again, gaining immortality in the process.

The Dragon Balls spread around the world again, effectively damning Matt's parents, crushing his hopes and dreams, and teaching Matt that the only person you can really trust is yourself. Left broken, and defeated, Matt continued his quest for the dragon balls so that he could undo the wish his Uncle had made while also studying under other masters in the hope of finding a way to keep Arron from unleashing any sort of true terror on the world if Matt couldn't find the Dragon Balls.

I agree with NC exotic being a good place to put it, as well as being fine with that content wise.

I went ahead and filled out two character sheets. One to be a "main character" and the other to be more secondary/villainous (since my fox girl idea wouldn't necessarily work as a character who sticks around the party all the time, at least until she switches sides down the line). Also in keeping with the dragonball spirit I made all my characters' names dessert puns  :P.

Flan

Name: Flan
Race: Alien (specific species unknown)
Age: 19
Gender: female
Sexuality: pansexual

Personality: Flan is a kind, fairly lax and laid back girl. She keeps a carefree attitude about most things and tends not to give a lot of thought or worry to most issues, preferring to just "go with the flow" as it were. There are two big exceptions to this however, things in which she can become very spirited and intense. The first is food. With her power incentivizing a heavy diet she's developed a love of all kinds of culinary delights, and can be easily motivated to pretty much any task if food is offered as a reward. The second is fighting. Having grown up under a renown martial artist, Flan was instilled with an adoration for combat from an early age, and is always down for a good fight, whether as a participant or a spectator.

History: Flan is the adopted daughter of the "great hero" and martial arts master Rocc E. Rhode. As the story goes, Rocc was facing a mighty dragon that had been terrorizing a local village, and after slaying the beast with his bare hands he discovered the baby Flan sleeping in a "nest" of treasure. It was assumed that she was the hybrid offspring of the dragon and one of the maidens that had been given over to it as a sacrifice, and feeling pity for her Rocc adopted her and took her under his wing, convincing the people that even a monster could be raised into a valiant and disciplined fighter under his teachings. Having grown up under his guidance she would become a strong yet kindhearted young woman, yet another example of Rocc's greatness.

Of course almost all of this story was a lie, as are most tales of the fighter's great deeds. While there had in fact been a dragon, and Rocc had boasted his ability to slay it, he did not in fact defeat it with his bare hands. In fact the moment he came face to face with the hulking monster Rocc was about to flee in fear, but at that exact instant a strange space pod came crashing down to Earth, smashing through the dragon's mountain lair and just so happening to hit the dragon itself, tearing straight through it's body and killing it instantly. Inside the tiny pod was a baby Flan, and with a mixture of worry for how the alien baby would be treated by the public and a selfish desire for fame and fortune, Rocc hid away the alien ship and fabricated the entire tale of defeating the beast himself. Though while the story may have been a lie, it all turned out for the best in the end, with Flan growing up happy and loved by pretty much everyone, rather than feared and experimented on like she might have if people had known she came from beyond the stars.

Techniques:

Caloric Conversion

While all living creatures convert the calories gained from food into energy to fuel themselves, Flan's alien biology makes this process unique in two ways. Firstly the conversion is much more efficient and dramatic than a human's, not only allowing her to use calories to fuel her bodily functions, but also convert it into pure excess ki. Secondly she is able to directly tap into this bodily function at will, meaning she can store up fat in her body and then at will rapidly burn it off for a huge boost in ki and power. Because of this Flan's weight and body shape can vary quite dramatically depending on how much energy she currently has stored up, though she tends to maintain a high calorie diet and keep herself on the larger side so that she always has a reserve of extra energy on hand if needed.

Stone Crushing Combination

A secret technique developed by Flan's father Rocc and passed down to his daughter. Starts with a powerful blow directly to the opponent's crotch, then "follows the rise of inertia" in the foe's body with a flurry of strikes to the chest and finishes with an uppercut to the jaw that sends the opponent flying (note, this only sends the opponent flying when performed by Flan). With this legendary technique Rocc has won several high profile tournaments, the reason for it's effectiveness being quite apparent to most, though he claims that it actually attacks pressure points and "redirects the flow of ki up the body to debilitate the opponent", an excuse that has managed to get around most accusations of blatant cheating. 

Dragon's Breath

Channeling Ki into her belly Flan is able to fire a beam of pure energy from her mouth, the size and power varying based on how many calories she burns to fuel it.

Par-Fei

Race: Fox Demon
Age: 8,993
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality: Strong willed and feisty, seductive and treacherous, Par-Fei is very much the model of a "femme fatale". She revels in mischief, whether it be simple pranks or more malicious plots, fueled by the feeling of superiority she gets from fooling or outsmarting others. She is also quite vain, always opting to take the form of the most beautiful, voluptuous woman she can imagine, even when this runs counter intuitive to what her disguise is. The best example being her current priestess disguise, dressing herself up in a very revealing and inappropriate attire despite supposedly being a chaste and pure shrine maiden. Despite all her glaring faults, she's incredibly charismatic and a great liar, allowing her to portray herself as a kind and caring person with unnerving ease.

History: Little is known about Par-Fei's past, though having lived for over eight thousand years she has plenty of experience spreading mischief and wickedness throughout the world. Of course the severity of her acts have always been tempered by the limitations of her power. Being a fox demon her power is measured by the number of tails she possesses, growing an additional one for every thousand years she lives. However while her current power isn't anything to scoff at, it isn't until growing all nine tails that a fox demon can reach their true potential, and only then can she be able to take her schemes to a much grander scale. In the meantime the treacherous canine has been pursuing other methods of increasing her power, as well as laying the ground works for her true plans once she obtains her full strength, whatever they may be. Her current guise is that of a traveling priestess, using her "holy" powers to help the people she encounters in her travels. Of course most misfortunes she helps cure tend to be created by her in the first place, but that's besides the point.

Techniques:

Fox Fire

Utilizing her demonic energy Par-Fei is able to ignite her ki into mythical fire, ranging anywhere in scale from tiny candle-like wisps to sweeping torrents of flame. 

Third Eye Hex Sealing

Par-Fei places a sealing tag on the opponent's body, preventing them from channeling ki or other types of energy to that portion of their body, cutting off ki to their entire body if it is placed on their torso (the center of the body). The effects of the hex can be reversed by simply removing the tag from the afflicted area, so Par-Fei typically tries to employ this technique stealthily, placing the tag on a hard to reach spot of the opponent's body when they're not looking and then attacking before they can fully grasp what's happening.

True Form

While she typically takes the form of a beautiful woman, Par-Fei's true form is that of giant, demonic fox with 8 tails (one of every thousand years she's been alive). Assuming this form allows her to unleash her true power, increasing her raw strength and ki several fold compared to her human form.

@batman  Just to get a better feeling would you consider Sho something of a prodigy since he's mostly self taught?  Or, at least, very gifted as far as humans go?  I love that image.  I've even used it for one of my Naruto characters.

@pdragon  Great name puns.  I love the different approach to Flan and her backstory.  When it comes to Par-fei is it safe to assume that her transformations are more like Frieza's?  At least, in the sense that the human form is simply an active restriction on her power?

For the side characters, villains, and pseudo-npc sorts or plot related characters I'd be fine with them being on the stronger ends of things.  These would be the villains, the Roshi's, etc.  Fewer restrictions on techniques and gear and backstories.  I think it's safe to place all the normal main players would be somewhere between where Goku initially trained under Roshi to the tournament.

Just an update but work may need to go for a multi-day trip.  Still waiting on an official word right now.  It's not going to alter the plans to get into stuff after the holidays but it may mean I'm slow to respond later today and tomorrow.

Personality: With a super advanced computer for brain Noodles is a very intelligent girl capable of solving complex problems and equations in fractions of seconds although how body works is still a mystery for her, she should be able to generate blasts, rays and other forms of energy and to read others ki and measure their physical and ki strength if only she knew how to do so. She is also very innocent and friendly and extremely naive and her way of thinking is very simple and straightforward so she she sometimes comes up with solutions she doesn't really how to accomplish and will also be fooled easily.

History: Amberite or Rita as her father called her was the daughter of very intelligent but not so famous scientific in a small town. He was a good man that wanted to help humankind with the advanced technology he was working on, one that would be within anyone's reach but when the red ribbon found out about him they tried to hire him to build an army of androids for them. He refused of course but they wouldn't take a no for an answer and he and Rita knew it, that's when she volunteered to let her father transform her in a gynoid. Unfortunately the red ribbon came first and bombarded his lab killing him and destroying everything of his research while Rita was still on testing phase, she was was far too powerful though to even be scratched by the attack but her memory was completely damaged, effectively making her lose her memory being the first thing she remembers getting out from under the stove with a pot full of noodle soup which she decided to take as a name from then on.

She has super human strength and resistance, albeit she has no discernible ki, but has no training at all as a fighter her current talents being limited just to household chores and cooking. Since her learning program wasn't completed yet not only she isn't aware of her full potential but she doesn't even know how to fully use her current potential either which will lead her to misuse her energy and run out of energy before she is supposed to.

Defense Protocol beta phase

Noodles can instantly enter in defense mode in response to any attack rendering her impervious to common attacks, and unlike martial artists she doesn't have to stand in any particular stance. Her speed greatly reduces though, as does her time reaction so she will usually stand still not to reveal this fact.

Explosive Attack Power

Although Noodles has no martial technique and her attacks are direct and straightforward she still holds great destructive power

Also!  Technically, 17 and 18 aren't even truly cyborgs given Toriyama's own description of them.  Every upgrade was biological in nature and their "infinite energy generator" (or wtfever) is actually a lab grown organ.  The only synthetic part on/in them were the bombs that were removed.  The "artificial human" (Jinzōningen) as a term still fits; it just didn't translate into english very well.  That said even Cell is wrong.  Technically means that 17/18 are basically Cell with only human DNA.  That's why they can still age albeit at a greatly reduced speed.  There's no mention of whether they need air or not but they do apparently still need water.  In English a more appropriate term (which I'm not going to enforce at all, btw) would probably be something more akin to super human. 

That said the sky's the limit.  There's a whole shit load of various android/cyborg types to pull from and to mix and match to get our desired effect here.  Even Arale style as long as we all understand that comic relief powers aren't a carte blanche to god-level power and automatic Earth splitting punches.

I like the approach.  I was hoping people would try to do their own thing.  There was enough versatility to kind of do whatever.  That said I'm really shocked no one's picked up a saiyan at all.  I understand the lack of Namekians given the adult nature of this board's content, at least.

My primary source of apprehension came from my experiences in the past with DB RPs.  Where, in those, 95% of the characters involved were Saiyans or some sort of saiyan/???? hybrid.  For a lot of reasons stuff just didn't make a whole lot of sense.  I already planned on at least having one in play here.

Are you thinking an adult(ish) straight off the ship from Vegeta rather than a kid raised on Earth?  I only ask because if the character doesn't know the fate of Vegeta/Sadala then it can remain ambiguous for the time being.

At the moment I'm planning on having her old enough to have had at least one child. Hmmm... Could run it that her son had been sent to a planet, but something went wrong and they lost track of it. With Gine being how she is she went of to try and find her son, and the destruction of Vegeta or Sadala could happen while she's in transit. Gine also sucks at piloting so her pod crash lands on Earth leaving her unknowing of the fate of her homeworld or her husband.

Name: Al “Cool” Hall
Race: Coyote Man
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Arrogant and eager to prove himself to others, Al hides a deep insecurity behind a wall of bravado and aggression. While this has led him to making great strides in his training, it also means he has great difficulty in reaching out to others for help, especially if they are his equal or better in regards to skill level. The result is an intense, aloof fighter with a chip on his shoulder.
History: Once nothing more than an orphaned street urchin in Pinap City, it was when the young coyote tried to pick the pocket of the famous Master Buuz that his life changed forever. Master Buuz raised the scared, angry pup instead of turning him over to the authorities, and taught him his own Drunken Fist technique as Al grew older. Yet he never truly got over the fear that came with fending for himself on the streets, and when his master passed away, he felt as though he hadn’t earned the old man’s legacy.

Now having heard of a World Tournament on the horizon, he’s traveled far to prove to himself that he was worth the old master’s time. Maybe then he might find the answers he seeks regarding his parents and who his family is...

Weapons/Equipment: Al’s claws and teeth are as sharp as any knife. He carries a flask or three of strong sake on him at all times.

I'm getting closer to having a first draft done... Just need techniques and I think I might add some weaknesses and possibly racial abilities if need be. Here's what I have so far:

Name: Gine
Race: Saiyan
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bi
Personality: Unlike other Saiyans, Gine has a gentle and caring personality which makes her unfit for fighting in the Saiyan combat teams. This personality also caused her to have a genuine union of companionship with her mate and another female Saiyan on her combat team; a rare case for Saiyans, who normally do not develop relationships except for breeding purposes.

   However despite her gentle and caring personality Gine is protective of her family and those she considers close friends. Messing with those that she cares about is a good way to bring out the explosive temper that Saiyans show. In addition Gine is fiercely protective of her son, even coming to blows with her mate over sending their son to another planet as an infiltration baby knowing how dangerous it is.

   While unfit for Army life, Gine still loves a good fight though she has a tendency to now satisfy this through sport. Though there are times more common Saiyan traits shine through in the heat of the moment, such as letting an enemy gain an advantage simply for the fun of it or letting her emotions get the better of her, resulting in some rash decisions.

History: Gine was born as a low class Saiyan warrior of the Planet Vegeta. An infiltration baby herself, she was sent to a low level world where she was barely able to take over needing a full moon to complete it. In the end she was picked up by a Saiyan named Onio, and she joined his team with the only other female Saiyan being Rubara.

   During this time her unusual personality started to make life difficult for her and while being part of Onio’s team, Gine seemed to need to be routinely saved from the dangers of the battlefield by Onio as she wasn’t as strong as the others. This lead to Gine developing romantic feelings for Onio, which he eventually returned and they developed a special bond. She also had a bond with Rubara though not as deep as with Onio. Finally figuring that she wasn’t cut out for battle, Gine left Onio’s team and the Army to go work at the Meat Distribution Center with other parts spent keeping with her training. During this time she has Onio’s child, a healthy baby boy she named Cabba.

   Still on Vegeta, she is working one day when Onio came home and they both greet each other with a hug. This only lasts a short time until Gine learns that Cabba has been selected as an infiltration baby. Knowing the slim odds of survival that infiltration babies face this brought forth her anger, and they came to blows. Unfortunately Gine lost and Cabba was sent off in an Attack Ball.

   Life went on until Gine found out that Cabba never reached his destination. After discussing it with Onio, she suited up in a new set of battle armor and set off in an Attack Ball of her own. She was off in pursuit with a pair of missions in her mind. First was to try and find Cabba, if found she was going to drop him off and return home. Second if she couldn’t find her son, Gine was supposed to take over his mission and prepare the target planet for sale.

   However things didn’t go as planned as a freak meteor shower damaged her ship and knocked it off course. Gine crashed landed on a planet named Earth with her Attack Ball ruined. It is now that her search starts…

Weapons/Equipment:
   Saiyan Combat Armor: Like other Saiyans she uses Saiyan Battle Armor for fighting. She had a couple of pairs extra survive her landing.

   Scouter: Gine brought a scouter along with her, however she rarely uses it.

Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Arrogant and eager to prove himself to others, Al hides a deep insecurity behind a wall of bravado and aggression. While this has led him to making great strides in his training, it also means he has great difficulty in reaching out to others for help, especially if they are his equal or better in regards to skill level. The result is an intense, aloof fighter with a chip on his shoulder.
History: Once nothing more than an orphaned street urchin in Pinap City, it was when the young coyote tried to pick the pocket of the famous Master Buuz that his life changed forever. Master Buuz raised the scared, angry pup instead of turning him over to the authorities, and taught him his own Drunken Fist technique as Al grew older. Yet he never truly got over the fear that came with fending for himself on the streets, and when his master passed away, he felt as though he hadn’t earned the old man’s legacy.

Now having heard of a World Tournament on the horizon, he’s traveled far to prove to himself that he was worth the old master’s time. Maybe then he might find the answers he seeks regarding his parents and who his family is...

Weapons/Equipment: Al’s claws and teeth are as sharp as any knife. He carries a flask or three of strong sake on him at all times.

Death Howl: Al concentrates his ki before sending out a blast that takes the form of a ghostly coyote to tear into his foe.

Weaknesses: While his tolerance is greater than that of a normal person, too much alcohol burns out his ki, weakening him and effectively turning his own technique against him.

Not the direction I thought people were going to go with characters but I love it.  Getting back to old school DB.  You're good to go.

I'm getting closer to having a first draft done... Just need techniques and I think I might add some weaknesses and possibly racial abilities if need be. Here's what I have so far:

Gender: Female

Personality: Unlike other Saiyans, Gine has a gentle and caring personality which makes her unfit for fighting in the Saiyan combat teams. This personality also caused her to have a genuine union of companionship with her mate and another female Saiyan on her combat team; a rare case for Saiyans, who normally do not develop relationships except for breeding purposes.

   However despite her gentle and caring personality Gine is protective of her family and those she considers close friends. Messing with those that she cares about is a good way to bring out the explosive temper that Saiyans show. Sharing a few ideas I had for Noodles

Equipment
Noddles carries a backpack that was also invented by her father, although she doesn't remembers this she still cherishes it as her most valuable possession. Unlike the capsules invented by the capsule corp this pack cant reduce its size yet it can transform into any object relatively of the same size like a machine gun, a motorcycle or a stove. For some reason she really doesn't know she instantly knows how to use any object the pack transforms into.

Personality: A bright and clever little demon. Though not malicious, he is quite mischievous. Jamba knows many don't take him very serious due to his size, especially the other demons. A mistake on their part he frequently exploits, for what he lacks in physical might, he makes up for with his speed and magical powers.
A bit of a perv, he has developed a fondness for woman's busts and would love nothing more then to stuff his head between their ample and squishy cushions.

History: Jamba hails from the Demon Realm, a dark place home to some powerful entities like Dabura. Unlike many of those strong specimens, Jamba could be considered one of the lower denizens. Over the years, he had acquired enough magical powers to leave that place, crossing over to this side of the universe.With no big demons to bully him around, he could be his own little master and get everything his little burning heart desires.

There isn't any great plot or scheme why he came to this little planet. He came to earth to visit the ladies ^^

Weapons/Equipment: Fire, lots and lots of fire

Techniques: Jamba with his impressive 2 feet tall stature, has little to no physical might. Instead the little demon relies on his magic in a fight. His flames are warm and fuzzy to anyone he deems a friend, though burn as hot as real fire to anyone else.

- Dark Chant

Most of Jamba's spells fall into this group. Most, but not all of his spells are fire related. The stronger the spell or enchant, the longer the casting takes. The key is finding the right balance during a fight without exposing himself.

- Magic Tail

Jamba can alter the form of his prehensile tail into various useful shapes. One of them being a large hand useful for picking up objects too big for his regular tiny hands. Also 'handy' to please the ladies. (similar to Midna's hair from zelda twilight princess)

Good question.  I am personally fine with the violence. That's what brought me to E in the first place because so many other places got so squeemish with violent actions, violent language, cursing, etc.  The group is getting a bit larger, too.  System may not be a bad idea.  You know of one available?

I'm not sure.  I kind of want other people to weigh in.  It's still a relatively small group where things can be regulated a bit better.  I know not everyone wants to play with a system and I don't want to lose anyone because of that shift.

I was trying to keep it pretty basic to start with but with virtually limitless growth potential.  We'd only be limited by the group's comfort level and the story itself; part of the reason for the smallish group.  In your case I'm not exactly opposed to flight/levitation since it'd likely be magic.  The only reason I bring this up is because it'd be something the ki-based fighters can't exactly jump straight to after watching your character do it once or twice.  That's not to say flight can't be gained pretty soon for everyone else's characters.  It just really has to be justified.

Right on the nose.  You're good enough with those names.  Flight's still attainable but starting with it is going to be tricky.  Tien was something of a special case and IIRC developed it himself.  Everyone else either had natural flight/levitation of some kind on their own, equipment that let them fly, or basically learned it directly or indirectly from the likes of Tien. 

To be fair, though, I imagine it'd come into play somewhat quickly.

History:  Sala entered into history near the Southern Capital when a pair of bandits had cornered a defenseless woman who had the misfortune of travelling alone.  They clearly had ill-intentions towards her, but their plans were turned on their head when a bright pink wolf appeared and growled at them.  They shot at the strange creature, but it simply shrugged off the wounds and leapt towards them both.  To the surprise of the assailants the wolf suddenly expanded into something of a ball and swallowed them both up.  Some struggling continued as the gooey mass enveloped them but eventually they stopped their thrashing as the pink wolf creature seemed to slowly resolidify.  Instead of reverting to the shape of the wolf it instead turned into a humanoid female shape.  Sala, thus born, stood there with vague confusion examining what she'd changed into, glancing for a moment to the frightened woman.  Feeling suddenly excruciatingly ill Sala turned and vomited out a tarry black substance as some of the color drained from her slightly slick flesh.  The woman who Sala had inadvertently saved took her back home with her to help her recovery.  Sala's childlike naivete also found in her new friend some guidance to learn about the world.  She eventually decided to leave to go explore the world a bit more on her own.  Strangely she has no memory of her life before becoming "Sala", nor any knowledge of where she might have come from, though she doesn't seem to particularly mind or care to think on the subject for long.

Techniques: 

• Mini-Candy Beam:  Sala is capable of generating a small beam of magical energy that is able to transmute foods into various kinds of candy.  Preferring candy to regular food, she uses this frequently.  It isn't able to harm or do anything other than tickle living beings (which she finds amusing regardless).
• Regeneration:  Sala is capable of extensive regeneration of her body.  The more extensive the damage the longer it takes and can be particularly draining.  Strangely this is ability is weaker against energy based attacks, such as Ki blasts or direct magical discharges.
• Stretchy:  Sala is extremely flexible and stretchy due to her unique physiology.  She can use this skill in a variety of ways, from absorbing the impact of blows, using springy tension to fire more powerful blows, and even attacking from strange angles or from a greater distance (Gomu Gomu no overload).  This gives her an exceptional resistance to physical harm in addition to her regenerative abilities.

I guess it'd be pretty hard for her learning how to activate a flying system of her own, or even realizing she has one. :P Maybe if we run into Bulma things could get easier after she 'explores' her body. >:)

DB is always a pain when it comes to systems because of the numbers. Especially when you hit the DBZ era and you go from power levels that are hundreds then jump to thousands and millions. Then add in hiding power levels and power ups, just a lot to keep track of. Then you get attacks...

Once you get to a certain point any numbering system you use is entirely arbitrary and used only as a frame of reference to other people's numbers.  A power level of 10 million means nothing except to compare it to another person's 11 million.  I'd like to avoid using my existing system because of how in depth it is.  I'm hoping all of you stay pretty reasonable about everything so we don't need to that.

I'll take a look at what you submit unless you want to discuss it first or PM me about it.  I can't really give a definitive answer until I see exactly what you want to play or how you want to start.

Personality: Unlike other Saiyans, Gine has a gentle and caring personality which makes her unfit for fighting in the Saiyan combat teams. This personality also caused her to have a genuine union of companionship with her mate and another female Saiyan on her combat team; a rare case for Saiyans, who normally do not develop relationships except for breeding purposes.

   However despite her gentle and caring personality Gine is protective of her family and those she considers close friends. Messing with those that she cares about is a good way to bring out the explosive temper that Saiyans show. In addition Gine is fiercely protective of her son, even coming to blows with her mate over sending their son to another planet as an infiltration baby knowing how dangerous it is.

   While unfit for Army life, Gine still loves a good fight though she has a tendency to now satisfy this through sport. Though there are times more common Saiyan traits shine through in the heat of the moment, such as letting an enemy gain an advantage simply for the fun of it or letting her emotions get the better of her, resulting in some rash decisions.

History: Gine was born as a low class Saiyan warrior of the Planet Vegeta. An infiltration baby herself, she was sent to a low level world where she was barely able to take over needing a full moon to complete it. In the end she was picked up by a Saiyan named Onio, and she joined his team with the only other female Saiyan being Rubara.

   During this time her unusual personality started to make life difficult for her and while being part of Onio’s team, Gine seemed to need to be routinely saved from the dangers of the battlefield by Onio as she wasn’t as strong as the others. This lead to Gine developing romantic feelings for Onio, which he eventually returned and they developed a special bond. She also had a bond with Rubara though not as deep as with Onio. Finally figuring that she wasn’t cut out for battle, Gine left Onio’s team and the Army to go work at the Meat Distribution Center with other parts spent keeping with her training. During this time she has Onio’s child, a healthy baby boy she named Cabba.

   Still on Vegeta, she is working one day when Onio came home and they both greet each other with a hug. This only lasts a short time until Gine learns that Cabba has been selected as an infiltration baby. Knowing the slim odds of survival that infiltration babies face this brought forth her anger, and they came to blows. Unfortunately Gine lost and Cabba was sent off in an Attack Ball.

   Life went on until Gine found out that Cabba never reached his destination. After discussing it with Onio, she suited up in a new set of battle armor and set off in an Attack Ball of her own. She was off in pursuit with a pair of missions in her mind. First was to try and find Cabba, if found she was going to drop him off and return home. Second if she couldn’t find her son, Gine was supposed to take over his mission and prepare the target planet for sale.

   However things didn’t go as planned as a freak meteor shower damaged her ship and knocked it off course. Gine crashed landed on a planet named Earth with her Attack Ball ruined. It is now that her search starts…

Weapons/Equipment:
   Saiyan Combat Armor: Like other Saiyans she uses Saiyan Battle Armor for fighting. She had a couple of pairs extra survive her landing.

   Scouter: Gine brought a scouter along with her, however she rarely uses it.

Techniques:

   Double Buster: First, Gine brings both her hands to her sides and charges her ki. Then, she extends her arms forward and fires a golden energy wave at her opponent.

   Power Ball: By combining her ki with the Earth’s atmosphere, Gine is able to create a sphere of condensed Blutz Waves. Gine is able to use this to change into a great ape even without a full moon. However this technique is very tiring and only lasts 90 minutes. This remains to be used as an absolute last resort.

   Healing: Unlike, other Saiyans Gine is able to use her ki to heal other people. This has two forms, one she simply heals other people’s wounds or two she is able to heal wounds and restore an ally’s energy by giving up her own.

   Flight: As a one time member of the Saiyan Army, Gine is able to fly using her ki. However since she is trying to blend in this doesn’t get used much, but she is willing to teach others how.

Saiyan Abilities:

   Enhanced Attributes: Coming from the higher gravity of Planet Vegeta, even a weaker Saiyan like Gine is stronger, faster and more durable then any normal Earthling.

   Enhanced senses: Like all Saiyans Gine has a keen sense of smell. This also extends into enhanced senses of hearing, touch and sight.

   Saiyan Rage: This is a powerful force in the Saiyan physiology; anger kicks their hyper evolutionary abilities into overdrive. This power up allows Gine to handle even more Ki then normal and doubling her abilities. However this rage can only be triggered by a major event, like the death of a family member or best friend.

   Great Ape: Like all Saiyan’s with a tail Gine is able to change into her great ape form by absorbing Blutz Waves. This form increases her abilities 10 fold and allows her to fire ki blasts from her mouth. However being a low class warrior she has no control over this form. Gine will only pull this form out if shit hits the fan and no other options can be found.

Weakness:

   Appetite: Like other Saiyans of note Gine has a ravenous, almost insatiable appetite and can put away vast quantities of food. This is because their energy and nutritional requirements are higher then a normal humans. Her metabolism is also much higher then normal humans, allowing Gine to keep her figure despise the quantities of food eaten. However this is a double edge sword. If she goes to long without food, Gine can become too weak to do anything.

   Zenkai: While their bodies do adapt to most things thrown at it, it does have limits. One, they need to survive the initial impact and two this only works up to a certain point. Near death might get the bigger boost, but is riskier. Also they can’t power up from self inflicted injuries.

   Tails: One of Gine’s biggest weak points, grabbing her tail causes great pain to her and can leave her immobilized and drain of strength. Cutting the tail off while in Great Ape form will revert, Gine back to normal form and leave her weaker. However if lost the tail might grow back if Gine is in extreme danger or it will grow back on it’s own in about 5 years.

   Enhanced Senses: These can be used against Gine as well as they are much more sensitive.

   Healing: This ability only works on other people; Gine can not heal herself with this ability. She also can’t raise the dead.

Personality: A fun loving dude who does not do angry. The only thing Pumpki cares about is fighting and challenging himself. History: Pumpki was a cog in the saiyan Frieza army for several years. He was off world when planet Vegeta was destroyed and given his employment as a planet killer harbored no hard feelings towards him. He would have remained a cog in Frieza machine for the rest of his life if he didn't feel he had reached a wall in hsi quest to experience the greatest fighting masters in the galaxy. He broke ranks and decided he would go find a planet that was chock full of strong fighters. This search eventually led him to earth where he was overjoyed to find "martial artist" and many different kind of techniques and fighting styles. He has since remained on the planet traveling and learnign as much about fighting as possible.

Weapons/Equipment: Wields a staff and has a scouter he still has his tail as well

Techniques:

Primal Rage: Pumpki launched himself at his opponent whooping and hollering and launching devastating close quarters strikes.

Ape Ball: Pumpki summons brilliant red and black energy balls and throws them

I'm going to go ahead and toss out that as the story progresses more options for characters will be available.  Additional characters or replacement characters for people can be a thing.  I say this because of the extra interest in the thread and PM for saiyan characters.  Just because you may not get to play one now doesn't mean the opportunity won't open up later.  I'll be going through the submitted saiyan characters and I'll get back to all of you.  I'm still waiting on a few more, though.

History:

James grew up on earth thinking of himself as a normal human being. He was born with a tail but his mother had it removed so that he would fit in with the other kids in the neighborhood as she had removed her as well. She had wanted nothing more than to find a life away from what she had known. She had been seen as lacking in power and of course had been rejected by the Saiyan society as well as her parents. She traveled the galaxy till she found earth where she settled down and got married. It was through this union with a earth male that she gave birth to James. He knew nothing of his mothers being an alien or that from her he was part of a race of powerful fighters. Because he is a half blooded Saiyan he lacks the drive to train or fight like a full blooded Saiyan would. So he has spent most of his life learning and training to be a mechanic. He for the most part lacks any formal training in the martial arts. Even with a lack of training he finds that he is just naturally stronger and faster than other humans. He doesn't of course really use this to his own advantage. He just moves at a normal pace through life trying to live a good a life as he can.
Weapons/Equipment: A sword from his great grandfather that is little more than a decoration piece on his wall.
Techniques: None as he has no formal training as a fighter.

I'm going to give it until this weekend for people's saiyan bios.  Either submitted here or via PM.  From there I'll make decisions.  If anyone's got any opinions or input on the matter feel free to share it with me.  Including whether people are fine with including all of them.  I think there's still two people that announced interest to me one way or another for playing a Saiyan character that hasn't submitted anything yet.

Yeah, Those are my thoughts.  It's all about managing the ratio in my mind.  I want to try to avoid what happened in the series.  I'm going to do my best to try to help balance characters out, get boosts to those that may need it, etc.  I just don't want another "The goku show" or "the saiyan show".

It's still fundamentally the same thing and presents the same problems.

Well there are other options too, he could have previously met a saiyan before, maybe he befriended them or had an encounter with them and he admires them so much that he wears an artificial tail. Or he could be some sort of ape-human demon/monster/bakemono or even a monkeyman, or better yet a man-monkey (just like there was a man-wolf in the tournament.)

Yes and no. During the jump between the cell saga and the Buu saga, because Gohan had not been training he actually fell behind in terms of power compared to his father and Vegita. Unlike Saiyans, half Saiyan's lack the drive to constantly spend their entire lives training and fighting. So even if a half Saiyan could be said to have more potential strength than a full blooded Saiyan, with out that drive to constantly fighting they may never prove that. Just figured that if I was going to play as a person with no fighting skills starting out I would not be easily killed like a human might. Basically just so that i can be more durable than your average human.

That said and if you're still open to more characters, I was thinking of playing a character that is from the whatever place people go to when they die where King redface guy with the Mahogany desk rules.  In essence, a sort of demon helper person I guess?  They have horns and stuff so I'm assuming they're demons, or some creature from that realm.  (if it wasn't obvious how out of the loop with the universe I am currently).  In essence, though she's a being from that realm so she should technically be powerful, her purpose is to guide one of the other characters and is limited to healing and out of combat utility powers.

Personality: A by-the-books kind of gal, she adheres strictly to the rules that her 'Boss', as she calls him, has set out for her.  Very much a worrywart who alternates between being extremely serious about getting things done though at a harsh pace but then crashing and burning and generally wanting to relax.  Still, if anything at all requires immediate major attention, she'll be sure to get at it right away.  Though she has no problem flaunting her body about (she's considered pretty hot amongst ogres to be sure), she has a strict no touch policy and will get absolutely pissed if someone doesn't comply with this rule.  Course, she also believes in saving herself for her one true love despite it being against the rules (so the ONE rule she will break) though it will probably and undoubtedly end up being someone who doesn't return her affections.

History: First rule about her job: she's not allowed to talk about her job.  In detail, anyway.  The most others can know about her is that she's an Ogre (though she emphasizes that she's not the same kind as the ones humans have seen, she claims they're just ugly cousins) and that she's there to aid a certain hero through his trials.  Apparently, she serves someone who she only refers to as Boss and is always rambling about the rules, though they only become obvious when the situation arises.  Maikaya suddenly appeared out of the blue before [character name] and claimed that she would be by his side to help him through.  However, despite claiming to have powers superior to any mortal, she has yet to demonstrate anything besides a number of otherwise helpful powers, such as healing, locating hidden objects, etc.
Seemingly, one of the big rules doesn't allow her to use her supposedly almighty powers to interject during most kinds of conflicts in any way, primarily she isn't allowed to fight, not even to defend herself.  As a result, she can be quite prone to being a damsel in distress and require rescuing.

Weapons/Equipment: The ogress doesn't fight and typically only has her clothing, whatever random outfit it might be, whether a swimsuit, an office get up, a pair of khakis with a shirt, etc.

Techniques:

-Healing: Maikaya presses her hands against the person she wishes to heal and rapidly mends their wounds, be it cuts, broken bones, just about anything short of death.  However, she apparently has a maximum quota she is allowed to use per day, and refuses to use her powers beyond that limit, regardless of the situation.  Supposedly, the more severe the injuries, the less times she is allowed to use this power per day.

-Locate Object: Maikaya concentrates for a few moments before knowing the general direction and distance to an object in question, regardless of where it maybe be.  She is also able to spot it instantly when within a short distance as it appears to be shining to her eyes only.  She is very particular about what items she is allowed to find using this power.  Apparently, locating a sock is perfectly fine but locating a dead body is not.

-Conjure Object: Maikaya concentrates for a few moments before unleashing a flash and making an object appear before her.  According to what she says, the rules state that her clearance level is only high enough to allow her to conjure something as big as a car, though the larger the object, the more 'magic budget' it takes to conjure, and she says she only has a certain amount per week.  Course, she also stated her powers were technically infinite so...

-Empower: Maikaya touches a person and imbues them with enhanced abilities for a very short period of time.  The power of the spike fluctuates depending on many different factors, and according to her, these include such things as height, weight, brain capacity, where she touches them, etc.

I understand this and I may have to switch up the OP a bit.  I'd hate to lose people over it but I think I may need to forcefully drop the number to just 1.  I was kind of hoping that with the opportunity I gate with secondary characters that someone would've taken that route for a saiyan.

They lack the inherent or genetic drive to fight and get stronger but a properly motivated half breed is definitely a thing.  We also see consistently that the halfbreeds, hybrids, etc have far more growth potential, have all of the perks and absolutely none of the negatives.  In a lot of ways they're worse given the concept of the game.  The interbreeding is also what gave way to the uber saiyans of U6, too.  I can have a more thorough discussion about it when I'm back on my computer.

My dragon ball knoweldge ends at the end of DBZ. I have only watched all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.  At most I know about Super Saiyan 4. I don't know anything about uber Saiyans. My only goto example of half Saiyans are Gohan, Trunks, Gotten an Pan. If I can't be that I could be a human or perhaps an android.

DB (all of it) has failed to give a solid measurement of power levels except maybe at the beginning of DBZ when the tracers were first introduced and then until freezer saga and then Vegeta mentioned something about Gohan being so powerful because Kakaroto had breeded with humans, again there was no evidence of that as it was just Vegeta's conjeture but it has been mentioned several times.

Anyway, I still think that's not the point but whether how many saiyans will be here, if any, I'm fine with there being a few but I'll leave the final decision to our Gooey GM. ;D


Btw loved you oni character Sumara, I was thinking something like that at the beginning (when I mentioned Uranai baba) but I won't be able to play two characters so I stayed with an android. :)  a shame she is straight though. :P

Yeah dragonball had a lot humor so it made sense to incorporate that in, similar to the pervy fire demon.  Just because she's straight though doesn't mean you can't try to violate the no touch policy.  Just be prepared for consequences!

Weapons/Equipment: The ogress doesn't fight and typically only has her clothing, whatever random outfit it might be, whether a swimsuit, an office get up, a pair of khakis with a shirt, etc.

Techniques:

-Healing: Maikaya presses her hands against the person she wishes to heal and rapidly mends their wounds, be it cuts, broken bones, just about anything short of death.  However, she apparently has a maximum quota she is allowed to use per day, and refuses to use her powers beyond that limit, regardless of the situation.  Supposedly, the more severe the injuries, the less times she is allowed to use this power per day.

-Locate Object: Maikaya concentrates for a few moments before knowing the general direction and distance to an object in question, regardless of where it maybe be.  She is also able to spot it instantly when within a short distance as it appears to be shining to her eyes only.  She is very particular about what items she is allowed to find using this power.  Apparently, locating a sock is perfectly fine but locating a dead body is not.

-Conjure Object: Maikaya concentrates for a few moments before unleashing a flash and making an object appear before her.  According to what she says, the rules state that her clearance level is only high enough to allow her to conjure something as big as a car, though the larger the object, the more 'magic budget' it takes to conjure, and she says she only has a certain amount per week.  Course, she also stated her powers were technically infinite so...

-Empower: Maikaya touches a person and imbues them with enhanced abilities for a very short period of time.  The power of the spike fluctuates depending on many different factors, and according to her, these include such things as height, weight, brain capacity, where she touches them, etc.

I love it.  Great idea and she's super sexy. One thing that's partially explored in DB but forgotten in Z and later are the odd portals and gateways around the world to other places.  There's literal 'gods' on Earth guarding places.  It's not too weird to explore those or have that be where your lady or Jamba came through or whatever.  Plenty of options.  Or, if you have any specific ideas or requests to work out you can ask here or PM me. 

My dragon ball knoweldge ends at the end of DBZ. I have only watched all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.  At most I know about Super Saiyan 4. I don't know anything about uber Saiyans. My only goto example of half Saiyans are Gohan, Trunks, Gotten an Pan. If I can't be that I could be a human or perhaps an android.

Understandable.  Well, Super hasn't helped your position as someone trying to play a half saiyan any.  Z wasn't too much better with Gohan, Goten, and Trunks.  All of them by default start super powerful, they all grow super fast, they have insane potential and the possibility of entirely new transformations on whole new levels.  I just think it'd be better reserved for later if the chance opens up to include more characters.

I like allowing a lot of freedom in play and given where the RP is starting we could have enough time for our character's kids to start popping up.  I don't know.

With out any real goals he has been working at the garage for several years not really paying much attention to what's going on in the world around him.

Part of that depends on the other people interested in a saiyan.  Given the responses from other players I'm going to stick to my guns and limit it to just one saiyan in the game until there's more players/characters.  Or, until certain ideas sort of get dealt with (You'll have to wait and see!) in play.  I'll just have to look at the people that way to stick with Saiyans and figure out which one I think fits the game better.

Hi Eve, yeah this is more about the original DB rather than the super powered saiyan focused DBZ, that's also one the reasons to keep it low on saiyans... although we do have a majin in the group :P but the power level is still low and that's just to have more diversity to the group so I think you could still join in with some unusual race.

It's starting in a point in the time frame more in line with the original DB.  It will eventually transition onward changed accordingly with the new cast of characters.  It'll include new arcs and villains and such as we retell the story.

So Bulma shows up in the very first episode and it's through her that Goku learns of the dragon balls.  She's not so much a rival but more a friend and pretty much his first friend.  Yamcha was a big rival of his, as were Tien and Chaotzu though if I remember right, the first time the dragon balls were used in the series was during a fight with Emperor Garlic Jr. where Oolong stops the bad guys from conquering the world by using the wish to get Bulma's panties.

Actually it was Emperor Pilaf, Garlic Jr. didn't turn up til later... I believe the wish that Oolong made was for the world most comfortable pair of women's underwear, but I'm going off of the English dub so might not be entirely accurate. The wish comes back to make an episode of GT really interesting...

She was a team mate more than a rival.  I'm still not sure if I'm bringing in Bulma or going the route of a replacement.  I'm just not sure I could properly play her.

Yeah, Earth is pretty varied in its population in DB-verse.  I know Super kind of changed the definition of such but there were even other gods featured in DB.

Personality: Gen is strong, proud, short-tempered, and aggressive. Despite these tendencies, he's not a bad sort, at least as long as you don't get on his bad side. He fights for and follows his own beliefs, rather than any preconceived notions of right and wrong, which can occasionally make it difficult to know which side he might land on during conflict. He does have a sense of honor though, and will never let a good deed towards him go unrepaid.

History: As a young child, Gen was found wandering lost and alone in the mountains by a married couple on a hike, and taken into their care. He was a rowdy, unruly youngling, but they loved him all the same, and in time Gen grew to love them too. His adoptive father was a capable martial artist, and once Gen was old enough, began teaching him what he knew, in the hopes of giving the boy an outlet for all his energy, and teaching him focus. The lessons were partially successful, as Gen took to martial arts well, quickly learning everything his father had to teach him and more, yet rather than quieting his spirit, it only instilled within him a need to grow stronger, and to prove himself the strongest of all.

So as Gen grew older, he eventually set out on his own in search of ways to test his strength, in the hopes of growing stronger as a result.

I'm not fully decided yet. I was thinking either a Human or an Android, probably male. If I went with the human I'd probably explore a sort of 'mystic' fighter, using Dragonball's early ideas of magic and stuff to pretend he isn't just a puny human punching bag for the Saiyan/Androids/Majins of the world.

Tang, the Mystic Martial Artist

Name: Tang Jean
Race: Human
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: A pretty excitable individual, Tang is driven by his own sense of morality and curiosity; so much so that he was excommunicated from the tutelage of his mentors in the mystical arts for it. With parts of his memory wiped clean in an effort to protect the mystical monastery he grew up in, Tang hungers for a way to improve his powers and is also only just starting to properly experiencing the real world. He’s the sort of person who might seem very hard to approach on first meetings; what with his resting glare and generally quiet demeanour, but breaking through that initial barrier is pretty easy, as he's easily enticed with promises of interesting things; be it interesting people, or stories, or techniques, or even food.

Despite his excitable nature, he is a fairly prideful creature. He thinks of his mystical talents as a rare and wonderful gift, and he partly resents not being able to further expand upon them. So much so that he will almost certainly look for additional ways that some might consider...morally dubious. He also quick to scorn anyone who underestimates his capabilities, or dismisses them too quickly.

History: Abandoned from birth, Tang would have died were he not stumbled upon by the mystics of the great Sanzang monastery. They raised the boy in their little community, and soon found that he was had a knack for learning the mystic arts. Techniques and secrets that took decades for other masters to learn took him weeks, and soon he was considered the next candidate for Grand Master of the monastery. When he was an adult, he was told about the monastery’s hopes for him, and he was thrilled at the prospect of becoming a Grand Master of something so important to him. Sadly, the seat came with a price that Tang refused to pay; impartiality. The Sanzang Monastery had promised to keep out of mortal affairs, and Tang refused to do so. He was too curious about the world, and refused to separate himself from it.

For several years, the residents of the monastery did not acknowledge the truth, hoping that Tang’s mind would change. It did not. At the age of Twenty-Four, Tang made the decision that he couldn’t stay with his adopted family anymore. He needed to grow beyond the confines of the wall, and he agreed to have his memory of the Monastery’s location wiped from his mind, as well as the names and faces of its occupants. It was a heavy price to pay, but Tang paid it willingly, dedicated to the idea that he could do more good for the world by being a part of it.

For two years, Tang has wondered the land, using his mysticism to help make things better. Along the way, he met a few strangers and picked up a few martial arts tricks, but at the moment he simply exists; waiting for a grander purpose to reveal itself.

Weapons/Equipment: Tang doesn’t have much in the way of earthly possessions. The clothes on his back and a small sack of belongings are all that he owns, carrying them constantly as he walks the lands.

Techniques:

Soul Fire: A basic ability that allows Tang to convert Ki into explosive energy. The white-hot Ki is unique in that it passes through inorganic and non-living matter harmlessly, exploding only when it touches living energy or instead just fizzling out. The bigger the blast, the more it drains Tang.

Spirit Summoning: A slightly more paradoxical ability, Tang summons the spirits of the deceased for aide -summoning either the recently dead or those clinging on to the mortal realm instead of passing on, and either imploring them for information or converting them into energy to use for his Soul Fire technique. Particularly strong spirits can resist this conversion technique, meaning it isn’t an efficient charging method, but it’s useful in a pinch.

Infusion: The most potent ability Tang has, Infusion allows Tang to use his Ki to bolster people’s natural abilities. So far the applications are limited by his inexperience, and he’s only able to boost a person’s regenerative abilities, and increase raw strength. There are obviously limitations, as with anything that uses ki. Boosting regenerative abilities will sap stamina by the bucket loads and is not an in-combat technique unless things are dire. Boosting raw strength is also a little unrefined as a technique, and is hard to control. It’s best used for lifting heavy things, or blocking big hits, because using it offensively makes it difficult to hold back.

Basic Martial Arts: Less a defined technique and more a mish-mash of picked up styles, Tang’s two years of wandering has led him to meet a number of people willing to show him basics on how to throw kicks and punches. He’s basically just a skilled practitioner that might place well in a Tenkaichi tournament, but never actually win it.

Strengths

• Mysticism: Because of its rarity in the universe, not every creature has a good defense against some of Tang’s more unique abilities. His Soul Fire technique’s ability to pass through inorganic material is surprisingly useful in taking down foes.
• Supporting Talents: Despite not being the greatest fighter, Tang has a lot of other useful skills. Being able to talk with the recently dead, and being able to heal people is a surprisingly useful talents, and is what has let him roam freely for the last few years.
• Talent for Growth: Tang’s talents for growth are not limited to the Monastery he grew up in. He picks up techniques quicker than most, and has a greater scope for development than most other humans.

Weaknesses

• Only Human: Tang’s body is not designed for the rigours he puts himself through. He might be better than your average human, but Tang can’t stop bullets yet, and he’d die from broken bones or blood loss, just like any other human.
• Weak Martial Artist: Tang’s training as a martial artist is fledgling at best, and he would never beat a martial artist in a 1-on-1 up close. Assuming he can keep his distance and use the Soul Fire technique, he might eek out a win, but when it comes to trading punches he’s at a serious disadvantage.
• The Hunt for more Power: Learning to expand his mystical arts is not going to be easy for Tang. His teachers at the Monastery are forever out of his reach, which leaves few people who would be willing to teach him, and even fewer who could offer him anything worthwhile. Outside of dead-men and demons, he’s basically out of options.
• Poorly Educated: Tang’s education is pretty extensive; if you only need someone who can do basic reading and writing, but can tell you about the mystic cosmos and the many different gods above. He will struggle with certain problems, even if he’s too stubborn to admit it, and don’t get him started on money, or math.

Race: Frieza Clan

Sexuality: Heteroromantic Asexual
Personality: He is a gentleman who respects most of his opponents. Like most of his race his incredibly prideful in the fact that they are one of the most powerful races in the universe. However he can be cocky and plays around with his opponents and testing them before using his full strength. Despite this Glacius isn’t so arrogant as to view himself as invincible, he will openly admit when he feels an individual can challenge his might.

   Even more Glacius has a very caring nature to him wanting to save and protect those weaker then him. This includes standing up for the children, never wanting to give up in fear of destroying the hope of those children. Above all he despises those that would use their power to bully and pick on those weaker then themselves. Glacius has a special hatred of the ruling family of his race aiming to destroy every one of them for the cruelty they have imposed on races weaker then themselves. He is even willing to die to rid the universe of the cruelty that his race can show, if it means another child won’t cry for the lost of his or her parents, and they get to keep their hopes and dreams.

   To those he meets Glacius is polite and appears to be truly happy to meet new people. He is also interested to learn any new ways of fighting and looks forward to getting stronger.

History: The young alien called Glacius was born on the planet of Frieza-034. Growing up on the planet he was feared by the other inhabitants due to the fact that he was part of the race that took over the planet. No matter how much he tried to befriend other people on the planet it was to no avail. Glacius ended up on the outside looking in, watching as the Galactic Frieza Army treated the people like crap and his disgust started to grow.

   Then one day things changed as a child threw a stone at him thinking Glacius was part of the ruling family. He ignores this even if he was slightly affronted, and continues onward. However a member of the Army witnessed the attack and struck the child. This pissed off Glacius and pushed him over the edge, and he took action protecting the child that threw the stone by beating down the members of the Army present. It was after that moment he realized that he must take down the royal family.

   Heading out Glacius stole an attack pod and left his home world to travel and begin his fight against the royal family. It didn’t take long however, before Glacius discovered that he was no match against the leaders of the Frieza Galactic Army. Sure he could take on the soldiers, but the members of the Royal Family? Glacius was out matched, but then he discovered a new bit of information…  It seemed there was a set of orbs on some planet named Earth that could grant any wish. So he set course to this new planet….

   Death Beam: Glacius’ signature technique he raises his right hand and fires a small, thin, very fast and concentrated laser like beam of ki from his fore finger, which barrels down and can pierce through his opponent depending of how powerful Glacius decides to make the beam. This attack is able to be fired quickly with precision accuracy. He is able to use the Death Beam as a barrage style attack as well. The longer the attack is charged the more lethal it can become, but Glacius usually keeps it weak to prevent accidental deaths.

   Glacius Blitz: This is a physical style blitz that starts out with a punch to the face of the opponent. If this connects his hands will close behind the opponents head and pull them down into a knee strike to the jaw. As the opponent falls backwards Glacius will then wrap his tail around the opponents ankle and slam them back and forth into the ground.

Frieza Race Abilities:

   Tails: Like the Saiyans, Glacius’ race has tails, but unlike the Saiyans the tails of the Frieza Race are extendable. They are able to use their tails as a weapon slapping people around, choking and throwing.

   Transformation: Like all members of the Frieza Race, Glacius is also able to use various transformations. However unlike other races who utilize transformations to reach greater powers levels, the Frieza Race utilizes them to suppress their powers as to not use too much energy. They are also used to maintain self-control so they don’t lose control over their powers.

   The first three forms are energy suppressing forms and the fourth form is actually their true form. Beyond that the forms can increase their powers such as their 100% Full Power form which uses stamina way to fast. After that comes Super Evolution form and finally their most powerful form which is the Ultimate Evolution.

   Bio Suits: All members of the Frieza Race are able grow their own clothing and armor from their own body tissue. These clothes and armor can be removed at will or replaced with newly grown clothing. Even wearing artificial clothing like battle armor, members usually have bio suits on underneath.

   Other: All members of the race is able to survive in the vacuum of space, can fly utilizing their own ki and some can even survive horrific injuries like being cut in half. Any damage sustained in their first three forms are usually healed transforming into their true form. All members of the race are also faster then most other races and the more their injured their speed increases.

I think it's less about specific races and more about Powerlevel. GGT has talked about wanting to keep things pre-Z level for now, and to let the Power scale develop over time. I think the Saiyan comments were more to avoid the Super Saiyan bargain sale later on.

Things like Kais and Demons didn't have a set power.  We actually encountered demons in the original DB and some of the kais we met (as well as other celestial races) were pretty pathetic in the grand scheme of things.  We technically already have a demon, too.  Angels are pretty much the only one that's out of the question until we get more information that may let them slip into a  lower powered game.  For races like these I'd want to see something a bit more creative on backgrounds and on their motivations.  If you have a specific side plot or something you want to shoot for we can discuss it separately too to see if we can make it all work out. 

As for the other races I was wary of them for different reasons.  While I could justifiably counter saiyan's zenkais with training (discussion for another time) I did want to avoid the super saiyan bargain sale.  It was also story related as I also wanted to avoid this just becoming a repeat of the Saiyan Show (despite other characters having the skill, power, and potential to compete but written off all together).  Even weakened Majin can be relatively OP on just natural abilities of their own.  I worked it out to kind of regulate the power and abilities of the majin currently accepted.

I don't want you to feel like you're being heavily restricted.  I want to hear your ideas whatever they may be.  We may just be able to make something stick.

Pretty full up on saiyans at the moment.  I agree that the initial transforamtion was awesome, though.  But we can go over majin ideas unless you just want to jump straight to human.

Krillin shaved because he was trying to emulate Roshi.  It came up later that Roshi was naturally bald.  Also, Krillin was raised as a monk.  when he grew hair later it was just him neglecting to shave.

The three-eyed/triclops clan.  We don't know where they're from.  They could be aliens or they could be another Earth-based race.  There's virtually no information given except that they aren't really around anymore and that they have some awesome abilities that Tien can't use.

It's going to be fairly lax from an OOC/RP point of view.  There will still be training missions and quests and all sorts of goodies but I really want to avoid having people write up a hundred points of just their character shadow boxing and learning a new technique.  If you want something special for training or want to grow in any way except a basic story driven push in power let me know.  Otherwise everyone's going to basically steadily growing in a way relative to the events and other players.  Even later on I want to kind of focus on power levels working as a narative tool than something set in stone for you guys

So the idea with the character is, she has been in sleep/stasis for a very long time and doesn't remember her past. All she knows is she was injured and has been healing all these centuries. And she has a very strange annoyance with cats.

Bilt has trouble fathoming emotions, not understanding why humans behave in certain ways that would prove detrimental and non-beneficial. History: Bilt is a result of one secret project facilitated by the Red Ribbon Army, primarily serving as one of many brain units for a supercomputer capable of constructing the experimental Android series. Weapons/Equipment: the weapons and equipment Bilt utilizes can quickly vary on the circumstances he encounters. Currently he is armed with the following...

• Scrap Cannon - a self-made small cannon capable of loading various objects and launching them. The damage the cannon is capable of varies wildly, but is nevertheless still dangerous as an improvised explosive weapon.
• Metal Hands - heavy mechanical hands with two fingers and an opposable digit, Bilt's hands are heavy enough as weapons for close combat and defense. He can also use his hands as a grappling hook to reach for objects up to twenty feet away.
• Manhole Cover - unable to find a proper defensive equipment, Bilt has to make do with a discarded manhole cover as a shield and a makeshift smacking/throwing weapon.

Techniques:

• Adapting Core - the key power to Bilt's abilities is his core body, a very durable unit that is about the size of a human head when fully contracted. When deployed, Bilt produces arms and legs to allow for movement. With the core body, Bilt is capable of reconstructing manufactured mechanical parts and using them as a new body. His power is highly dependent on the materials and parts he manages to collect for constructing his body. If his outer body is badly damaged, Bilt can initiate self-destruct to distract his opponents and then escape. The core is capable of flight, levitating up to 10 feet in the air and propel itself using electromagnetic currents.
