"Welcome, Recruits, to the newest branch of our agency. For many of you, it's your first time inside an agency facility at all. I can only begin to imagine how excited you must be." the man greeted each new recruit from the second floor, looking down into the cubicles over the railing. Each person present had known him by a different name when they first met and he offered them positions, now they collectively only knew him as The Director. "I'm expecting great things from you, as is your country!" he continued. "Those of you who are expecting some form or orientation or training are out of luck, the eleven of you were hand picked for you ability to work things out on your own. Your first mission is going to be an evaluation of those exact qualities. You're going to be participating in a wargame with another agency branch. It will be up to you to chose your own squad among yourself to infiltrate your 'enemy', access their secure network, and copy a list of their current and future operations. Mission details are in the docket on the table in the center of the room. I expect you will have your team leader selected by the next time I see you." And with that, the direction was gone, stepping back into his office, and soon nowhere to be found. The Agents had everything they needed to know, the rest was up to them.

Looking up at The Director on the second floor made Aadie's neck cramp up, but she didn't want to show weakness in front of her new boss.  Even if she was still unclear as to exactly what the chain of command was and their department's role.  Still, everything had been official so far as she could tell.  And the chance to serve was a great honor. 

Once The Director was gone she began rubbing the pinched nerve on the back of her neck, looking curiously at her new coworkers.  She didn't want to seem too eager, but someone had to get things started.  So she headed to the table in the center of the room, flipping through the pages of the mission docket. 

“Hmmm...interesting.  This looks a bit tricky.  Will definitely need some people with technical skills.  I know I don't have the skills to lead a mission like this.  But according to this dossier snippet, you do.  What do you say, Professor Moriarty?”

Looking up already at The Director he made a note of the male. He made a note of everything, words he messed up tones he used and then he watched him go. Until he was no longer in sight he turned and looked at the people around him.

He watched a women walk over to the table, he soon followed after looking too at the mission docket. making a note of his coworkers before he began to speak.

"I'm not so sure young lady, i think Yugi would be best for this, no offence Professor Moriarty." he said as he looked round.
His name was Leroy Crogavitch. He was Russian and also half Irish the two accents clashed from time to time making some people just stare at him when he said things like 30 and 3 his Irish came out fluently and his Russian came out when he said many other things.

By the square of his jaw and the cut of his jib, the way the grey suit fell over his wide shoulders flat and perfect, anyone could see he was an Agency man, through and through.  Nodding with a businesslike but respectful air, he cleared his throat.  "Thank you for that show of confidence.  I myself would like to suggest that Remiel would make a fine choice for Team Leader."

Nodding curtly to the other, younger man, he arched one eyebrow and continued.  "Young man, sure is spelled 'sure,' and, none taken."

He looked at the Director and then turned his attention to the others. He listened to everything the director said. Who would be the best for the job? he thought to himself. He had to figure out who the spies were and fast. After some thought he decided that he was going to test the waters and see what happens.

It makes me happy to hear that someone thinks that I'm capable enough to be team leader but I'm certain that there is a better candidate out there and that candidate is Sasha.

Sasha had to smile when she heard her name tossed into the leadership role ...though in all honesty the poor woman had butterflies fluttering around inside. Oh how she hated being in the spotlight and a little squirming was indeed going on in that poor chair . Giving the young man who had voiced such solid support in her direction a polite nod . A mixed set of emotions clouded the woman's mind for a brief moment ...as other names were tossed out into the room . Seemingly coming down to two high caliber nominations, James Moriarty and that devilish man known as Remiel .

Raising an eyebrow at the salute given by the one ....she decided to speak . " The Professor James Moriarty indeed seems like a sound decision .... " though that name always made her smirk . Something evil in nature about it ...cunning ...maybe he was an Alley Cat in a prior life .

With the votes tallies, the agents came to a consensus. James Moriarty, the esteemed professor, would be be in charge of deciding the team. Naturally, he was open to any suggestions or volunteers. They knew they had 48 hours to discuss among themselves who their pick for the mission would be, but ultimately, the decision was up to the professor, and would be due by September 13. Many of the new recruits were eager to get their feet wet. If only they knew what was in store...

"Ladies, gentlemen," he began, giving each and every person assembled the hairy eyeball, "the mission ahead is dangerous.  It's important we get this right."  He paced the room.  "Let's hear it: who thinks they're up for assignment numero uno?  I want to hear what you all have to offer, and what you think, preferably by oh-two-hundred hours the morning of the assignment.  Elsewise, I'll be forced to choose blindly."

Sasha had moved over and found a nice comfy chair to nestle down into ...as she pulled out laptop and began to set the thing up . Humming quietly to herself ...having all but forgotten what it was the professor had stated. The introductory file she had been given included a brief snip about each of the new  comrades she would be working with on this assignment. Shifting through the papers the woman jotted down a few things on her handy dandy notebook. Even with a computer at her fingertips she still enjoyed the art of manually writing .

Nibbling on the edge of the pencil ...a terrible habit the woman shifted her nose one way and then the other . Some of these people that had been chosen to be on the team she knew nothing about . Raising an eyebrow here and there ....she soon found herself intrigued by a few things . Everyone had a past some a little more sorted than others. When the list of the chosen members for the first assignment was handed to her she smiled and thanked the one bringing the terrible news. For her name was not on the list ....served her right for taking a back seat and not speaking up sooner.

Grumbling a little ...rather annoyed with her own failure to put her best first step forward. One seemingly would need to leave those tendencies of being a social hermit to get any recognition in this group. Least the Professor in her mind had moved boldly and delivered names for the first mission rather quickly. Wondering how he selected them ....random draw out of a hat maybe . Least that would make her feel a little better. No ...No ...a professor would of taken great thought .  Obviously he picked Remiel since he had the second number of votes to be leader ......had to have a pretty lady in the mix and well who didn't enjoy Ryven with his jock strap collection.

Time to pout was over ....as she spoke out into the room ......."  Going to make a fresh pot of coffee ..........anyone need a good warm cup of java ?"  making her way over to the coffee pot .  Grinding some fresh beans ........oh the sweet smell of freshly ground coffee. The smile on her face was genuine " Oh .....and someone made chocolate chip cookies ?   Ummmmmm ummmmmm. .... I am so in love with who ever is responsible for these little delights."

In the end, the mission was nearly universally approved. 9 Accepts, and only one Deny.

With the mission complete, the agents had a few days to spend training, catching up on various personal projects, and generally recover before the director made another appearance, pausing at the guardrail to look over the agents, one by one, before finally breaking the silence. "Congratulations, agents." he began, his tone anything but celebratory. "Your entire team has proven themselves to be skilled operatives. One of you, more than we bargained for." With a wave of his hand a large screen on the wall flickered to life, a map of Europe on display. "You were successful in the task we gave you, the data we requested was brought back, and our other branch was none the wiser. However, it appears our agency wasn't the only one to receive a copy." Various icons began to pop up on the screen, indicating troop movement or the loss of operatives. "Somehow," the director continued, "those same operations, dossiers, and movements fell into enemy hands as well, allowing them to mobilize within the last two nights. It would appear that they had help from the inside. We're beginning you next assignment immediately in response. This will be a damage control operation, details are in your dockets. I expect you to choose your team more carefully this time, we can't afford mistakes like these. And pick a new leader, I don't want to take any chances!" With that, the man was gone, back into his office, orders left on a table below the screen.


Round One Summary
The mission passed approval with 9 votes for approve, and a single deny votes.
The mission was launched, and failed with a single sabotage and 3 success bids.

Josietta figured with Remiel on a team he was bound to be drunk on rum far too often to have done them any good. That pirate was always looking for booty to plunder and drinks to swill. She looked around at those present and nodded toward Sasha. "She'll be as good as any for the job."

My vote is for Josietta.

With the mission failing by one sabotage it was time to vote for a new team leader and figure out who the spies where. "I think Josietta would make a good team leader.

She had an idea about who might be convenient for the second mission, Josietta was a solid agent and her assets would help completing the mission, leading surely to a success. "I have faith in her abilities."

"Clearly, there was someone on James' team--James, myself, Aadreal, and Ryven--that wanted to sabotage the mission.  Although not all of us are spies, obviously at least one of us is.  The prudent move would be to send an entirely new team for the next mission."

He nodded his approval of Josietta as the next team leader.

[Sasha]

Sasha tilted her head when Remiel spoke ....biting the inner lining of her lip. Spies ... failed mission ...someone on that team was playing both sides of the fence. Well now ....if one were doing that casting suspicion on the others would make one look better . Her mind toyed with it all ...maybe a female perspective would be a little keener than the good professor . Or maybe the last team leader was indeed the wrench tossed into the machine to shut down the line . Images of that made her draw in a deep breath ...this game was never more fun , what was more exciting than finding out exactly what hidden skeletons were in her comrades closets so to speak . Hilarious really when the whole world seemed to be coming out of them these days ....one would think it an honor .

" I also believe Josietta might bring a new prospective to things ....she has proven herself most worthy in the past ..."  nodding her head in agreement with what the others in the room had already seemed to be thinking .

She would go along with the majority for now ....though the woman was pleased at least to hear her own name mentioned. Moving back over to her computer ..maybe she ought to just find out a little more about the professor . He seemed likely to have the most interesting dirty little secrets . Uncovering anything would just make her day anyways . Besides ...no need to waste time in idle chit chat ..the coffee pot was brewing and the hazelnut smell filled the room . " Oh and I made another pot of coffee if anyone is interested ...."  one had to attempt those social graces ever now and then . Least that was what she had always been told.

With a landslide of support from her peers, Josietta was the clear choice for the new team leader. It would be up to her to puck the next team of four to cover up the mistakes of the previous mission. As before with the last mission, the agents had nearly 48 hours to discuss among themselves who the best choice would be before the leader's selection was due.

She brushed her blonde hair back and considered who was saying what and who didn't say much at all. The mannerisms of some of those around her struck her as odd and she didn't feel completely on board with their loyalty. When the choice was made for leader, she was honored to be chosen and considered to be a leader even if she wasn't a hundred percent sure she was the best choice of those present. Due to her uncertainly she decide to pick her team members as people she felt would help her lead this into a successful mission. "I would like for Sasha, Sunshine, and Mr Bigglesworth to join me." Standing from her seated position, she smoothed her black pencil skirt and removed her coat from the chair behind her. She was prepared to head out and hopefully fix this issue before it became something even more problematic for them all.

Josietta was already proving to be the leader they felt she could. She wasted no time asserting herself as leader and selecting her team, even deciding to put herself on the line as well. With the team decided, it was time for the agency to once again decide if they approved of the mission.

Well now that was indeed a way to take charge ...as the woman had spoken out the one thing she had been waiting for . Yes her name ..now she could prove herself . Giving a nod of acceptance to the woman she respected as a colleague. The thrill of the adventure ahead made the woman square off her shoulders as she moved to prepare.

Final approval had to be given ...give her time to go over the file on last time . Memorize it ...get into the part she was about to play. It tingled in her veins ...for she was ready to do now once again what she had trained all this time for . Trying to keep down those nagging images of everything that could possibly go wrong . Fear and Adrenaline a very intoxic mix when trying to read over a case file . One never knew if they missed something .

Sasha moved off to examine the information ready to head out when the approval came down from above.

This time around, the agents had no chance to rest once they returned from their mission. The director was already waiting with the rest of the team upon their return. "Well, it seems our branch has managed to redeem itself." He began, pushing out his chair to offer his hand to Josietta. "The mission was a complete success! As we speak enemy forces are diverting to a remote location that they believe we're basing our operations out of, allowing free motion for our other branches. With everyone cleared for ops, we can finally get started on our real mission."

Reaching for the table, the director picked up a folder, laying out a series of photos on the table. "This is a lab our enemy is operating out in East Asia. They've been developing some sort of new age weapons within, and our sources tell us they're dangerously close to a breakthrough. We have a plan for getting a team inside, it first, we're going to need to prepare. We're going to need to secure funds to supply our outfit, as well as an unregistered aircraft for drop off and extraction. It can't be one of ours, my superiors don't want to run the risk of recognition. Luckily, we have a solution."

The director laid out a second series of photos as he continued. "This is one of three farms run by the drug lord Walter White's cartel. It's also the center of their distribution operation. The crop duster hanger, highlighted here, is actually the 'company' vault. It's highly secured, but it's the perfect place to secure both the funds we need and a suitable extraction vehicle, all the while dealing a blow in our ongoing war on drugs. It won't be easy, this is a 5 man job, but I'm confident the right team can pull it off. On that note, as usual, you'll need to select a new team leader, we don't want Josietta taking all the heat every mission. Good luck agents, and Godspeed."

Since Josi's team did so well, I say we pick somebody from her team to lead the next; how about Sunshine?

Josietta nods in agreement with the choice and smiles. "Yes.. Sunshine was a good asset to the team.. I think she will make a fine leader."

Sasha glanced over at the woman they were speaking about ...." Indeed , Sunshine would make an excellent choice ...." nodding in agreement . Feeling the pressure of the situation mounting now . They needed another win ...had to have it . Besides the department would all benefit if they were able to pull this off .

Heading over then to the coffee pot ....she concentrated on making a fresh pot . Grabbing a cream stick ...why not , hell with the diet . It was a small victory and this next one would be even sweeter . The woman's confidence level was improving by the minute.

She grabbed a handful of files and went through the different data numbers and reports. She looked at the random notes and observations made during the previous missions, in no time she had her list of agents made and ready. She verified one last time her choice and exited her office, paper in hand.

"Josietta, Yugi, Sasha and Ryven. Please come with me."

Josi nodded to Sunshine and gathered up her coat, ready to go on the next mission.  She would back their leader in anyway she needed.

Sasha grabbed her cup of coffee up ....good thing she had just filled it up . The file in her hand ....as she swiped another doughnut up ...this one was an apple fritter . Sweet ...Tim Horton's too so every bite would be savored . Maybe on the return she could swing by and pick up an espresso machine . Least that way she could do hard shots of coffee .

It was the thrill of it all though that made that adrenaline flow ... time to prove herself worthy yet again . Following out after Sunshine . Seemingly somewhat pleased about the members of her team .

Bad news agents, with one Sabotage vote, mission 3 has ended in failure.

Furthermore, I recently noticed we're actually down another player as I glanced over the thread, so I'm going to use the 9 player rules for the remainder of the game. The new player list is:

Though it does make me curious as to the idea on what or who is causing us issues." She glanced at Ryven suspiciously as he was the only common link in the two sabotaged missions.

"I believe that Remiel would have better success this time around as team leader. " It was hard to tell which people sabotaged the missions Ryven was a common element but maybe it was just a coincidence that he was on both missions that just happened to fail.

"I agree with Josi, Yugi would be a good leader for this new mission." Sunshine threw to her teammates, her early suspicions had been comforted during the failure of her mission. She hoped this time they can get pass any further attempts of sabotage.

One coincidence does not make a correlation.  I'll vote for Yugi.

I'll vote for Remiel ... and perhaps it is a coincidence Ryven, but I've got my eye on you, sir.

Remiel scratched his head.  He was at a complete loss as to who could be sabotaging the mission and why.  His detailed notes were still far too incomplete, there were too many gaps in the information.   There were a few people he distrusted, but obviously he could not voice his suspicions publicly.

"Yugi, I can't say that I trust you implicitly, but you were not part of James' original, failed mission, and so on the basis of that you have my vote."

"Hmm, well, Yugi appears as likely innocent of sabotage as anyone -- and I do want to see who he would pick to go on the mission..."

Aadie looked around the room, listening to the various opinions.  It was hard to know who to trust.  "Yugi seems trustworthy."

The vote was all but unanimous, and things were looking up for the agents, especially considering the fact that they were so well prepared for their next mission, it would take two votes of sabotage for them to fail. The team had confidence in their new leader, Yugi, who would immediately begin drafting his team of 5 for their mission.

Not knowing who were the ones that were sabotaging the missions he looked at everyone and just chose randomly. Aadreal, Ryven, Josietta, and Remiel would be the best choices for this mission.

Sasha could not believe the last mission had been a failure ....as she sulked about . The mind troubled with various different plans of action that could of been done . Back tracking her own steps ...that she was oblivious to the conversations going on around her . A vote had been called ....yet she no idea to whom she trusted more . It had been settled ..and Yugi was now in charge of the next phase of the game .

Listening to his choices ....she jotted them down on a piece of paper . Part of her wondered if Ryven was collecting more than jock straps these days . They had a leak ...a double agent ...had to be among them but who ....or was it whom . she was putting up walls again , trust no one . In the back of her mind a voice was telling her that would not work .

Coffee ....yes that beautiful dark roasted black liquid ...it would help calm her nerves so she could settle back into helping the team in any way they needed . She needed hard proof to point a finger at anyone and she had no clue as to what had went wrong .

Muttering a little to her cup ....as she sat down at the computer . Hopefully the next mission would be a success as they needed one badly to bring up moral .

Sasha returned back into the room after ....well she made coffee of course . Least she could do for the team mates . Why would she trust anyone else to make the thing loved the most . Well maybe not the most but ...that really couldn't be discussed here . Maybe after things slowed a bit she could do a little traveling to the wrong side of the tracks for a little fun .

" Coffee is ready ....anyone needs a cup , think they brought doughnuts in ...."  waving a hand in the air . No , she really didn't care if anyone else drank coffee. It just really wasn't in her best interest to drink a whole pot today ...least not one that brewed all day long . Someone in this room was playing both sides . Just who it might be was a bit unsettling .

Looking to the door , seemed the team was still there ....would they be granted to go ahead . It was that pins and needles moment .

Poor Josietta quickly found herself  facing overwhelming odds. Before her allies in the HQ even realized what was happening, her comms were suddenly silenced. She had the misfortune of being sent on a mission with not one, not even two, but all four saboteurs. To call the mission a failure was a grand understatement. Not only was the mission never to be started, the so called task force had just made off with some of the agency's most valuable information! Within days, assets were frozen, desks were cleaned out, and the closest thing any remaining agent saw to field work was manning the paper shredders. Within a week, the new Agency branch was gone, nothing left behind but an empty building and a few loose ends to tie...

With 4 Sabotages and 1 success, the spies won their third round, ending the game!
