From the far reaches of the Earth and beyond came the Sentinels of Honor, the most powerful group of heroes the world had ever seen!  They first fought in the Golden Age against the Axis powers in the midst of World War 2, ever evolving and changing.  Some of their numbers are still around today, but most from those days are long gone or retired.  New blood joined, fought... some died but most persevered.  Through the decades the Sentinels of Honor remained strong, but so did the forces of evil.  An armored megalomaniac named the Decimator proved to be a near constant thorn in the sides of the Sentinels from the late 70s to today.  He and many others threatened the safety of our world, but always the Sentinels of Honor were there to stop them.  But you know this story... what you may not know is where the next generation of heroes is trained...

NEBULA HIGH! The world's foremost superhero training academy!  It's secret location, known to very few keeps the students safe from those who would wish them harm.  Normal students go to high school.  Super powered students go to NEBULA HIGH!  Whether they are referred to the school by their super powered parents or the government itself (for those with normal parents), all students find a home away from home for the school year at this prestigious institute.  At Nebula High they will learn all they need to know in order to be among the next generation of super powered defenders of the Earth.. and who knows?  Perhaps a handful will be selected to become the next to join the illustrious Sentinels of Honor!




Students arrive via teleportation disks at the beginning of the school year and live on campus until Summer vacation, when they are permitted to return home.  Occasional field trips to various places on Earth do occur, but under supervision of a senior staff member.  Classes include standard High School academia as well as things such as High Technology and Super Science, Hand to Hand Combat and Magic and Psychic Fortitude.  The school is technically unaffiliated with any government but has liaisons to each major country's Department of Superhuman Affairs (DSA).  As it was originally founded by an American based super team (The Sentinels of Honor), it is a predominantly English speaking school, though technological accommodations can be made for those who don't speak English, whether they be from a foreign country or another planet.

The Principal of the school is none other than former Sentinel, Neutron.  Now retired from fighting crime, he has nonetheless vowed to use his abilities to nurture the next generation of heroes. Don't just go to school... go to NEBULA HIGH!

This will be a largely sandbox-style group game centered around a super powered high school similar to the one seen in the movie Sky High.  Teacher positions are limited but available until otherwise noted.  If you are going to play a student, they must be from 16 years of age to 18 years of age (Sophomore to Senior).  Please fill out the sheet below and submit it to Josietta and myself for approval.

Awww crap.  I'm sorry Rayve, but I just now got back online today and dealt with a PM from another player (which to be fair was sent first) asking to play the high tech teacher.  Had I been on this whole time I could have quickly let everyone know that role had been filled, but I did tell him that he could play that role.  You're still more than welcome to play another teacher role or a student.

Yes, it's going to be pretty lighthearted.  Very sandboxy.

A certain amount of toughness comes with the power of Superstrength (just to support your enhanced musculature), but if you actually want to be bulletproof, you'd need to take it as a separate power.  The degree of toughness and the degree of super strength also depends on whether you take Toughness or Superstrength as your major or minor power.  If you take Strength as your major and Toughness as your minor you'll be bulletproof but not as tough as you are strong... and if you take Toughness as your major and Strength as your minor, you'll be tougher than you are strong.

Alrighty, gave a look through. Never saw Sky High (and have no interest in doing so, no offense) but have a general idea on the tone.

Which is unfortunate as my first thought was a troubled youth whose path could lead towards villainy or at the very least an antihero. The AirStrike character I created (brief origin story linked in my sign) would be a similar,  though more violent sample of what I am thinking.

If that isn't fitting, then I can think of something else. Maybe an alien that is a bit like Blanka or Dhalsim from Street Fighter.

Troubled is ok... though remember that he would still be a teenager, so his path is not set in stone per say.  :-)

If you would rather do an alien, that works as well.  I'm good either way.

I want to make everyone aware of a very important factor in this game: While you may be superpowered.. you aren't SUPER powered. You are a teenager, you don't have control over your gifts completely. You likely don't have half of them developed. Please keep in mind that you are -TEENAGERS-.  This is high school. The only difference is you are gifted with powers that you can use for good or evil later in life. Right now, you are neutral. You are learning. 

Secondly.. This is not going to be a game with a butt ton of combat. -IF- there is combat it will be in a controlled training environment. You will not be off galavanting the world combating evil (or joining it).

Please don't anyone feel overwhelmed with choosing powers or what not. In the end they are flavor. If you choose to be a combatant in a training room with others then that is fine. But don't feel you have to one up the next guy. 

This game is meant to be mostly social.  Which is what Sandbox is.  You play with others, off others, and around others. Its all about making friends, enemies, drama, romance, and maybe a little action :P

There will be parts in this game that are sexual. There will be seperate threads for that. IF at anytime you feel you and your partner need a space for rent, let us know. No matter if its day one, week one or the first hour of meeting. Just let us know. Its about having fun and letting your hair down so to speak.

So no getting stressed out is allowed :P

As always my PM box is open as is Lunars. Now.. we're gonna wait until Friday to get a few more sheets then we'll pop up an IC thread for y'all to get started in.  You don't need to feel pressured to push your sheet forward.. just take your time. There is no deadline on sheets. If you have expressed interest you are noted as such. However we will be cutting off applications once we reach about 10 people. I think we have 2 approved female sheets thus far. If we reach too many of one gender/sexual orientation over the other then we will cut off one side (IE more heterosexual men vs women)  and allow a few more of the other to filter in.

Lunar will be posting up who we have with us so far.

Also to note:  Teachers and students are strictly prohibited from sexual encounters together. This does not mean that teachers can't get busy with other teachers.

It should also be noted that Teachers aren't going to get a ton of RP in where as a student would be in more demand.  Right now we are full up on students after we get the two in that are pending (including Dis'). 

You are more than welcome to make a teacher, however keep that in mind.

Well, the super power training teachers are already spoken for, but you could always play one of the teachers that teaches mundane classes, like Math, History or English.  There's nothing that says those teachers can't have super powers of their own, either.  :-)
