So what can you tell us about the city of Krinol which we'll be starting in? Laws and customs, primary races, politics, all that sort of stuff.

Are we all going to be in various parts of the city when we coincidentally meet up as the result of some thing or another, or should we have arrived as a group beforehand?

huh... I think the only possible relationship Chi and Brand could have is antagonistic. Perhaps his family are some of the wealthy individuals with claims to the lands around her grove, and Chi tried to get him on her side since the academy is closer than wherever they live, only to find out what kind of person he is.

How about if it's people from his city? Perhaps his family would be able to put a stop to it if they tried to but don't care enough to look into the matter.

With Chi's lack of knowledge of how the city works she assumed Brand was in a position to help her, and he just never even tried to learn what was going on.

Videospirit

Well for the most part, the people who took the land from the fey aren't breaking any laws. The nymphs aren't actually citizens of the countries who did it, and don't want to be. And aren't recognized as a nation of their own. Makes it really expensive and awkward for Chi to achieve her goals.

Prince Truhan

Even if they aren't breaking laws doesn't mean they don't make Chi angry (it's your choice how she reacts of course)

Brand won't be intimidated, but with time he could be convinced to help. Maybe she sees him as part of the problem since he isn't doing anything to help her yet.

Videospirit

That was more a dig at the idea that Brand and his family would be compelled to do anything if they just knew of Chi's situation. If his family did not personally own any of the land Chi feels rightfully belongs to the wilds, she probably wouldn't approach him about it though.

Still, having a naked Catgirl waltz up to you and demand, "Are you Brand Wander" could leave an interesting first impression.

Prince Truhan

I got the victorian idea of the city wanting to level the forest because it obscures their view or something.

They can be involved in some way Brand might not know about, and yes, I'm sure she left a powerful impression.

So far Character tie ins:

Nys: A few years past, Chi came across a wounded Raven who'd been attacked by a hawk.  The bird had landed in Chi's grove, and Chi carefully nursed the bird back to health. The nymphs and Chi were pleasantly surprised when the raven Olivia spoke and turned into humanoid form.  When Nys arrived to collect her, he found himself in the feys' debt; and Chi has sought sought his assistance many times in legitimize the fey's claim to the wilds, Chi always seeming to find her way back to Nys. Chi is strangely attracted to Nys, and has been more responsive to him than any of her other lovers to date.

Torryx: Chi's grove is located very close to Torryx's homeland. Chi did not join until after the land had started to recover from the devastation unleashed by the wizard's forces however. Various humanoid races have since moved into much of the lands, and Chi is concerned with restoring these lands to the wilds and that includes Torryx' homeland. Torryx first met her when returning to his homeland after being chased out by his own tribe. The nymph's grove welcomed him like any visitor and Chi came to learn more about him. She taught him a few basic unarmed techniques, hoping to bolster his courage, and since Chi interacts with the remaining Centaurs of Torryx' tribe, struggling for a place of their own in the dwindling wilds, she keeps him informed of their well being whenever she sees him.

Zarlathil Tibur Syra Laanil: Chi met Zarlathil for the first time when she was still a junior Druid of the Nymph's grove. The Nymph's welcome druids of other groves quite often, as a way of sharing knowledge between the various druidic factions. Chi saw the dragonborn as a respected elder, and Syra was like a mentor as well as a friend to her. Chi's grove is a bit... generous in the kinds of "knowledge" it shares however, and Syra was quickly corrupted by the Nymph's enthusiasm and sexual appetite. Despite sleeping together many times during her visits, Chi's relationship with Syra did not really change however, neither druid seeing the acts as more than casual pleasure.

Garret Flynn: Of the many landholders Chi has sought out in her seemingly never-ending quest to restore the fey's land to the wilds, she crossed a particularly corrupt merchant who didn't take kindly to some "animal" telling him what to do. He had Chi locked up in his cellars, for his men to use. When Garret likewise crossed the merchant in some manner, he was thrown into the Cellar with her while they figured out how to dispose of him. Chi quickly made friends with Garret, telling him only about her goal and that she'd been locked up for 2 days, not bothering to mention what humiliations she'd been through during that time. The two of them quickly escaped and worked together to bring down the merchant completely, leaving him penniless and exposing his misdeeds to ruin his reputation. Garret escorting Chi back to her grove, where the Nymphs offered him their hospitality. Chi hasn't spent much time with him since.

Alice: Chi has met Alice when Torryx brought her along on one of his visits, but the two have not had the chance to really get to know each other.

Hart: Chi's choice to go around completely nude earns her a lot of attention, not all of it positive. During one particular incident Hart interceded on her behalf, using his humour and smooth tongue to calm the crowd threatening to drive Chi away from town. Chi sought his assistance in conveying her message to the merchants who'd been refusing to meet with her, than offered to let him stay at her grove anytime he was passing by and left without returning a single one of his romantic advances.

Aio: The masked one visited her grove on his journey to find the drow matron responsible for destroying his little friends. After hearing his tale, Chi told him she had no idea who he was talking about, and directed him to speak to Nys, the only drow she personally knew.

Brand Wander: Being the son of wealthy parents operating in the area near her grove, Chi has sought him out in her quest to free the fey's lands of civilization.

Has only officially heard of the following in passing:
Dornal Aerasume, and Sim Keen-Ear

Well, time to start getting ready for work.  I saved my character and consider him ready.  By the time I get off work the deadline will be up, just three days until we hear the news.

Hmm?  I thought we'd know by tomorrow night?

Consider mine ready too, barring suggestions from other players or the gm.  Just chillin.

My sheet is done as well, and backstory is just a few more character tie ins to take care of.

The suggestions for links with Sim all sound great.

As for adventuring, most of the adventuring Sim has done has been within Krinol itself while on cases and such. Though if need be, she has no problem leaving the city if a case takes her to the immediate out-lying lands around Krinol.

I believe Sim is completed, may add a picture, but it would be a nude.

I want to avoid the cliche "meet in a tavern" if possible, so I'm working along that.

As for local laws, there isn't much outside the standard "Don't kill, steal, or plan to do either of those". As a trading city, they do have certain sections that are more one race than another, and they may have customs that need observing, though they're generally understanding that other races don't have them memorized. There is a law that you need to approve any items you plan on selling, but the fact that a black market exists shows they're not the best at enforcing it. Politics are democratic. Each guild and race has an elected official that meets in a council on a monthly basis, though they convene if something big pops up. Humans are the most prominent race, but pretty much any humanoid can be found there.

But... I spend most of my time in taverns!

Videospirit

Won't go figuring out why Chi is there than until the final cut is made, and Chi might not even make it.

And we can always run into hart when he's fleeing the tavern with the father and brothers of his latest conquest in hot pursuit.

Anon315

Hey, Hart is equal opportunity. He could be found in bed with man, woman, or sheep. Okay he probably wouldn't take the sheep into a bedroom, that'd be icky and messy and raise all sorts of questions. But... he's open to all sorts of experiences! Something may be wrong with his mind.

Well I guess a... jealous adventurer wife could be chasing you I suppose. Sleeping with men probably wouldn't get an entire family out for your blood really though.

Eh, it would when one of the men claims I seduced him and exerted unnatural mental influence.

Well, that'd get an entire mob after you more likely.

Especially if countered with, "You know you liked it."

Damn, time slipped away on me.
I know the entries for characters ends on the 4th, but at any particular time? Like... exactly midnight on the 3rd or some time on the 4th itself?  Sheets are done, but the background I wrote out irked me a little so it needed to be changed. Just wondering if I should carry on to the last minute or if I've already run out of time.
