Looking for men and women for a small group of adventurers. Stats will be simple, I'll roll some up, good and bad, and players may choose which ones they want. They'll be pick and fit, meaning if the last one is a 18 you get to put it anywhere on your stats. Another option is that I will allow characters to "buy" stats, it'll be up to the people playing which way we go.

Character backgrounds are their own, and standard classes are available. I know there are other D&D games going on and all but this is just one I'd like to try.

The characters will start somewhere between level 1 and 3. The idea is that the group is just starting out on an adventure, and after it's complete the characters can go their separate ways or they can go off on the next adventure. It just depends on the people playing.

The group would be about 4 or 5 people and myself as the GM/storyteller.

Things that may happen in these games are never foreseen completely. To make sure this doesn't violate the rules here, we'll be playing under the Extreme category. Better to err on the safe side.

The setting is simple, probably along the Sword Coast, a place many beginners have started out on. Unless someone else has a better idea of where you'd like to start.

Possibly interested as well, although admittedly curious about the content *chuckle*.

Among adult themes and such, one never knows if the Orks you're fighting will kill the pretty elf in the party, or just take her and rape her until she breaks, then let her roam their warband servicing them until they were all satisfied. Or the evil overlord in the castle you were sent to slay has cast a spell and made you all into his loyal slaves, turning you on the town. Sending you to rape, pillage, plunder, and slaughter. It depends on what happens where.

And beyond that there's no telling who will live or die. Who will rise or fall, but it's all dependent on what people do. Hell evil player characters could dominate the party if they have the means to.

Delotha

I'm very interested as well, would love an adult D&D game, been too long. :)

I know that I would like to play a cleric of the group and I'm curious what classes people are interested in playing?

Alright that's what we need for a minimum.

Alright stat time.

I can roll up stats for characters. This would be a first come first serve choice.

Example:

Set 1: 15,10,8,18,12,16
Set 2: 14,9,17,16,14,17

Say blackcatotaku picks set 1, then set 1 is obviously gone.

Option 2 in this case is that all stats start at 10 except 1 which starts at 8.

So, 8,10,10,10,10,10

Then you get 22 points to increase your stats.

Score Cost Score Cost
9: 1pt
10: 2pts
11: 1pt
12: 2pts
13: 3pts
14: 5pts
15: 7pts
16: 9pts
17: 12pts
18: 16pts

The final option is that everyone gets the same numbers but gets to put them anywhere they want.

Stat options for this one are: 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10

Delotha

I would like to play the ranger or the cleric for the party, and since cleric has been claimed, that makes me a ranger.

On the scoring, I have done it in  the top 2 ways and I like them quite a bit. Option 3 would be new to me, besides that information I don't really care which way we do stats.

What exactly are you allowing for books and races and all that fun stuff?

I'm thinking of going drood myself, or maybe rogue as a secondary choice. But I'd like to know what's available first.

Togashi

I am allowing the classes from the common players handbook and DM's Guide. If you have something you'd like to request I'll look it over.

Races, I'm allowing the standard races, found in the player's handbook. Again, if you have something you want me to look at I will.

schnookums

Well hmm...drood or wizard...both have a lot of potential for fun times. Kinda leaning towards drood though.

Togashi

Drood? You mean Druid? Sorry I'm just double checking because I'm exhausted.

Autocad

Please roll up stats for me - in order! - and I'll make a  char based on it :)

Kdyami

Hey all I'm property of the U.S government and as such I may randomly disappear for a day or two.  I apologize in advance but I'll get back to you ASAP

Meliai

If there's still a spot I'd like to throw my hat into the ring! In in for a wizard or rogue, depending on what Schnookums goes for.

[edit] oh and for what it's worth I like the first stat generation method, where you roll up a bunch of arrays and we pick from them. Assuming, that is, that any array that's significantly more or less powerful than the others is thrown out, it would suck to be stuck significantly weaker than everyone else just because you saw that stat choices last. When you say sword coast, you mean the game is placed on Faerun?

Anyways I vote we start 3th level (allows LA races and stuff) and I would favor old fashioned 'roll and that's you get'. So option 1. But do so you roll 2-3 sets to every player and name who has the sets and then player chooses from the three the one which he/she wants.

I myself would roll a thayan illussionist 3th level, aiming to Master Specialist PrC from Complete Mage splatbook and then enter Red Wizard PrC once higher levels.

Togashi

Wow, much better response than I thought I'd get. ^.^

Zaer,
When I say Sword Coast I do mean Faerun. It's a simple place many people who play D&D know. Of course like with anything else if the group decides to leave the coast and go somewhere else, one never knows. Thayan, you mean a red wizard? Bad ass.

Votes:
Starting at Level: 3 has 1 vote.
Does anyone else want to start at 3?

As for how it looks, it looks like most people voting wanting me to roll up stats. For that I'll do it. When I roll them up I'll be adding them to my first post, and then I'll start an OOC in the forums and link everyone.

MrBubbles

Jot me down for Fighter, I'm hopin' to try out being the party tank!

I'll throw a vote in for level 3 as well as you rolling up stats.

I agree with Meliai, I would be fine with having the stats rolled up for us to choose from but as long as they are similar so that way people aren't punished if they aren't able to be online when they are posted for whatever reason.

Togashi I would suggest closing this thread if you want it to play out like a DnD campaign otherwise its going to become a wee bit overwhelming as we already have what 9 players...? I'm all for come one come all but depending on the play style it may become unmanageable if you continue to leave it open. Also I am not at all familiar with the sword coast so maybe having a link to a description of the area?

Also in regards to the question of what level to start off at, do you have a plan as how high we are going to go? Is the game slow growth? If it is slow growth I would prefer to play at a 3rd level, if moderate/accelerated growth I wouldn't mind starting at level 1.

Zaer Darkwail

Yup, a thayan backgrounded wizard (a red wizard's apprentice). Master Specialist is ok with you Togashi?
