Who do you trust?

On the surface, things appear to be another normal day in the nation of Neroda from the perspective of the average person.  However for you, life has been flipped completely upside down. You were recently arrested for a crime you did not commit and ended up spending the night being interrogated by authorities. Unexpectedly, you have just been released; someone unknown to you, paid your bail, and left a strange note requesting your attendance at a local pub. The note gives directions to a private and dimly lit back room in a bar called “The Slaughtered Prince”. If you choose to attend you will find a few others there for the very same reason.

This campaign is a sort of blackmail situation where your characters had some involvement in a crime either by witness or direct action which caused you to befall into disfavor of a very powerful individual, shrouded by mystery. You are being given an opportunity to work off your debt, or risk losing what matters most to you.
________________________________________

Things to consider before signing up for this campaign:
1) This isn’t going to be a sexually driven campaign.  While there will be room for character romances, seduction, and honey pot missions along the way, sex is going to largely remain a secondary aspect of this campaign.
2) Keep in mind this is a subterfuge campaign that will largely be taking place within an urban environment.  That said, I don’t want a party full of Rogues and Rogue archetypes; in fact, I will only be choosing one Rogue class in the party at most.  The best way to secure a spot in this campaign is to be creative with builds, archetypes, and feats in a way that is not only well suited for cloak and dagger stuff, but also unique in a way that intrigues me.  I will always choose an interesting character over a min-maxed character.
4) Roleplay is going to be a huge aspect of this game; diplomacy rolls will only help to engage in a conversation, but dialogue is where the real magic happens.
5) I will be playing a bard character in this campaign, so don’t worry about filling that position.
6) Place ‘porcelain’ somewhere in your character submission so I know you read these guidelines.
7) You can hold off on distributing your skill points, selecting your gear, and other detailed things until you get selected so you don’t spend a ton of time only to have it be for naught.  Please submit a Myth-Weaver or Plothook character concept.
8) Teamwork is very important for this campaign, there will be a number of Ocean's Eleven-esque missions that will need both creative puzzling skills as well as someone to take a proactive leadership role when on said missions.

3-4 Players (that will be selected by me from the list of applicants rather than first-come first-serve)
Pathfinder (anything in the SRD aside from psionics, firearms, and 3rd party stuff)
Setting: Medieval-esque society
Any core race.
Starting Level: 6
Hit Points: Max first die, roll for the following 5 levels (reroll 1s)
Starting Wealth: 16,000gp
25 Point Buy
2 Traits from different categories

The misdeed you committed or witnessed is not what you have been brought in for. However you are not completely innocent. Either through intentional forethought or by inadvertent happenstance, you have tweaked the nose of a powerful, and unknown to you, individual. You can come up with your own misdeed, whether it’s taking something that didn’t belong to you or sleeping with someone you shouldn’t have, or let me come up with one for you. Regardless, a misdeed will have to be submitted with your character sheet.

You can count me as interested; I will figure out what type of character I want to play sometime today or so.

Will you allow a class from the Advanced Class Guide (In it's current form)? I love Swashbucklers and they fit well into urban settings and are well known for getting into trouble just by looking at it.

So just a character concept? Alright then... this young lady was from my Mythweaver's character archive. I've purposefully left off her sheet, as requested... and because she was initially created as a level 21 character for a very specific game. Lol :) Not quite sure if this picture is the one I'll use... some people like their porcelain skinned elves, some like off-colored skin... but for the moment, this will do. ;)

Character Concept: Many elves take their love of nature to the extent of protecting the beasts of the wild from the constantly encrouching machinations of humanity. Their arrows piercing the invader's hearts and the trauma shaking the mind of trespassers into the protected woods of the elves. Sometimes however an elf will turn her attentions not to nature, but to the desires of those they once spurned.

Trappers, Fur Traders and the like are a constant source of luxury and income for the most wealthy of nobles of human kingdoms. From the most tame deer, the most ferocious bear, and even the most exotic of scaled beasts, the hides, skins and furs of the realm's rarest creatures fetches high prices on the open market. But the best profits are made on requests by the most influencial noble families, their desire for the rarest furs, hides and scales for their latest outfits driving their greed every onward.

Shandrisa appeared a hunter of circumstance. Trained by the forest lords in the manner of nature's methods, she had taken to the bow and blade as any other elf in the land would. Over the many years she encountered races not of her own, and while their lives were short lived, she was intrigued by the brief candle-like lives of nearby human cities. Spending time within their walls, usually against the wishes of her lords, she learned of their ways and in return taught a few chosen taverners her ways, even if they could barely remember let alone practice them.

It was weeks later when a noble and his son approached her with a request, to bring them the fur of an elusive white tiger from the nearby kingdom of their enemy. Though she was hesitant, the humans offered her immense sums of money and with her new love of luxury, she could do little but agree. Since that day Shandrisa has worked almost exclusively for non-elves, finding her deeds unacceptable and exile-worthy from her own lords. She has developed a world-wide reputation as being a tracker and trapper of the impossible. Hunter of beasts that supposedly could not be slain. A reputation she had, perhaps, not quite earned... but one she was not above letting slide to help her business.

As the years slipped on, she became more ruthless in her methods to bring in larger and larger bounties. A large beast with valuable fur might take a dozen arrows or more to fall, but a beast no matter the size, might well fall in one or two poisoned, or even magical arrows. To this end, she found herself learning to navigate the underworlds of humanity, finding her elven shape to be an uncommon yet highly prized attraction. With a few words of common said with a certain cooing tone, she could get many humans to do as she asked... though to acquire all of her supplies, sometimes theft itself was required. But little of it mattered... all that came to matter to her was the next hunt... and the next chest of coins.
"I don't mind that most fictional women look like they have F cups at minimum. I do, however, mind that their brains aren't nearly as... 'developed'."

Can you say a little about whether any particular alignments wouldn't work with this setup? I was considering doing a Monk, parkour-ing their way around the city. But if we're going to be engaged in Ocean's 11 type criminal mischief then that would be hard to reconcile. Unless the local government was itself corrupt, I guess.

For the hell of it, here's a swashbuckler's concept. I'll wait until something is decided on this part before moving on to the actual character generation.

On a side note, I cannot use either Mythweavers or Plothook. It has to do with being blind (See that note in the information about me above) and the sites not being accessible enough with all of the unlabeled fields.

Anyway, here she is...

Physical Description: Standing at 5’7, Tari is a leggy woman with an athletic figure that none the less shows off soft, womanly curves. Her mass of thick, dark curly hair frames a heart shaped face that is dominated by large, intelligent dark gray eyes, a full, slightly pouty lower lip and a chin that stops just a shade short of being too stubborn. Her lightly tanned complexion and softly upturned eyes gives her an exotic beauty that seems to match her unconscious grace when she moves. Normally dressed in a cream colored tunic under a dark blue jacket that does nothing to hide the rounded mounds of her C cupped breast,, her leather pants are tucked into high, dark brown turned over boots; a weapons belt hangs low on her rounded hips with a rapier on her right hip and a matching dagger on the left.

Personality: Tari is a fascinating blend of outrageous flirt and bold, even reckless seriousness. If you’re a friend, you’re a friend for life and none other will be as loyal as she will. If you are an enemy… well… no one will be as loyal to the cause of getting even either. If you’re fun, you’ll get a time that you’ll never forget. In spite of her conflicting personality traits, she holds a set of morals and principles that can be absolutely depended on to hold true… exactly what those are may sometimes be in question, but never that she’ll follow them. She has a mischievous streak a league wide and a love of anything the least bit exciting and new… this can range from a new place to a new man (or woman) for a night of wenching and drinking… Hey, women can wench; they just call it something different! When the times call for seriousness, however, her mind is focused on whatever needs to be done and although she may trade witty comments and barbs with the opponent, she never forgets that it’s life and death… and she intends for her and hers to walk away with the life category. Often sweet and funny, she’ll happily sit down with the same “bad guy” for a civil conversation at a tavern simply because it’s the civilized thing to do and good conversation is good conversation… as long as the rules of courtesy are obeyed. Then, the next morning, do her best to best said bad-guy with her blades… unless the point of the fight isn’t to kill each other, but she’ll fight just as hard all the same… If you want to beat her, you’re going to have to work for it!

Background: Tari is the youngest daughter of Baron Phenael Gravante, and admittedly, the apple of his eye. Even though she continues to disobey him and avoid suitor after suitor with some skill, she knows that She would not inherit from the family and must make her own way in the world if she wants to be free.

Tari, following the example of her 4 older brothers, gravitated to the ways of the warrior and her fascination with the blade has led her to no small amount of trouble and, because she is a woman, an unorthodox method of training. When her father’s Man-at-arms refused to teach her, she went out on her own and discovered an old rogue who, for a price that shouldn’t be spoken of in polite company, taught her the ways of light blades and speed, of movement and stealth when many of her opponents will be larger and stronger than she is… to face anger with a sort of glee that is shown in the way that the tongue can taunt and tempt the enemy to act without thought… where her own body might be a lure to act without wisdom… to be bold and wait for the subtle moments. Along with the sword play, she learned much about the underside of the world and while she would never be a thief, she is aware of the professionAnd may know a bit more than she should  about it.

Tari recently had a not overly pleasant encounter with a nobleman’s son, who while in a drunken state, made certain unwelcome and inappropriate physical contacts with her person. In the end, the only way to get rid of him was to threaten him with bodily injury… and the drunken idiot took her up on it. The young man’s unfortunate injury was regrettable, but it was either be raped or be dead and she didn’t care for either result. Besides, she tends to think that men with scars and a little bit of a limp could be sexy... under different conditions.

I'm interested as well.  haven't read it all yet, but know Pathfinder, and wanted to say so BEFORE I took too long.

Edit:  Alright, I've read more.  First off, Porcelain. :)

That being said, I think I like the idea of running an Inquisitor.  Probably something edgy and dark and not so Lawful... so when someone accuses him of offing a bad guy, it's not a very far leap, and he ends up taken in...

Well, darn, didn't notice that Bard was already taken from the very start on the first read. Guess I'll have to think of something else. Is Summoner a viable option for this game? I'm aware that a lot of people dislike or restrict the class.

Makes me wish I hadn't deleted all of my unused character sheets.  I have a perfect character for this!

Mechanically i forget exactly how he was set up but he had been a human alchemist raised by gnomes (there was some racial feature or something for the class that made it work).  He wasn't a full blown tinkerer like gnomes but he did obviously love his trade and was occasionally messing around as a con man.  'cause seriously, you need to make money somehow and alchemy isn't cheap!  He also had a penchant for getting into pissing contests with dwarves (and dwarves specifically) and even dealing with drinking contests that he always lost that kept him locked to the porcelain god for the rest of the night.

Or at least that's the stuff I had in my head.  I never actually got to play the character.  The table i built him for ended up having an alchemist submitted before mine and I didn't want to deal with the redundancy.
Coming soon...

Stupid question time: Plothook / Mythweaver?

Miroque

Colour me intrested..

would it be better if the character is outsider (to the town in question) or well enstablished one ? (having friends, contacts and enemies in town, as they are 6th level so they have been doing stuff before this fateful day)

And next question, how much there is diversity (racial) in the town? Is it 99% humans or something completly different?

The characters don't have to be outsiders, it's whatever you want. There is a lot of flexibility with character creation.

There is also a lot of diversity. It's a large city with all kinds of races living in it.

(Sheet pending because druids have SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many options and I want to do something different, not the Urban Druid with the persuasion stuff or the Urban Druid who takes care of the city park, but instead (there's really no good support for this) an urban druid who treats the underbelly of the city as its own ecology (because it really is!).)

Triji couldn't remember a week that had gone so badly.

It had started out unpleasantly enough when about a sixth of the Dock-quarter veins had started to back up because a smallish jelly-cube had fetched up against one of the more recently installed barred gates and blocked all of the water flow through it, backing things up until they flooded into other outflows. The water would rise until the vein was completely full, at which point there was no current pushing the cube against the grill, and it would mindlessly move away from the metal (which some well-meaning idiot had enchanted with just enough of an electrical shock to discourage things leaning against it but not enough to damage or kill them)...And the water would start flowing and push it back against the grill again. It was a very unhappy cube in its mindless, oozy way.

Triji had gone around the other side and simply attacked the lock on the gate with a rock. It really didn't need locking, and it was just holding up progress in a system that depended on constant flow, anyway. Meanwhile, things were getting backed up and undoubtedly a bunch of animals (and probably some people, too) would end up catching various diseases who otherwise wouldn't have because some damned engineer (and not even a dwarf or a gnome, judging by the look of it) had the bright idea that a grill belonged in the middle of this pipe, and then decided that if there was a gate, it needed a lock.

Of course, when the lock broke, and the gate opened, she had to pretty much run for her life as a few thousand pounds of idiot acidic jelly came at her down the slippery tunnel, propelled rather quickly for the first hundred yards by the pressure of all the water behind it.

And, of course, the first intersection she came to, running for her life with Bonesnap ahead of her, contained the Cellarer team that had figured out two hours too late (it was a tough lock, she had to admit, and she'd seriously considered finding some other tool than a rock) where the backup was. And not just any team of Cellarers, no, they had Chief Inspector Hajek with them.

She didn't like Hajek. He'd tried to have her fined and jailed numerous times for everything from interfering with the Cellarers to vagrancy (she didn't live in the sewers, she just cared for them, because they badly needed someone to do it). She didn't like him, but she didn't hate him enough to kill him, either.

And if she'd thought about it, she wouldn't have imagined he hated her enough to kill her. She hadn't believed he was hateful, just stupid. The Cellarers were constantly re-inventing things under the city, trying to control and direct things which others, hundreds of years before them, had had the wisdom to give up on. They repaired things which shouldn't have been built in the first place (although, she admitted, they also maintained the tunnels which needed it) and constantly tried to build things that ruined the turbulent and sometimes dangerous mess of tunnels and veins which functioned as the city's digestive system. She sometimes got the impression that they thought they could somehow stamp out all the things which lived down there (most of which actually made the sewers healthier and kept them from backing up...the cube would've been a great contributor if it hadn't been stuck against the stupid gate) and run this immense mess of pipes and conduits as if it were somehow pristine, clean, and not its own world with its own residents and its own sense of balance and harmony.

Hajek was one of the people she suspected most of having this outlook. She'd tried reasoning with him once, but he had no grasp whatsoever of the kinds of things living in the sewers as creatures with their own lives, he only saw them as problems that got his (badly trained) Cellarers killed.

Which related rather directly to how he reacted when she bolted into the tunnel intersection with Bonesnap beside her and the multi-ton jelly in apparent hot pursuit (ridiculous, they just went their own way...Gelatinous cubes weren't smart enough to actually give chase once they couldn't smell you, but the backed-up flow of sewage was still pushing it...).

Triji's first reaction to his shrill "Get her!" was to just change course, caroming off his chest and down one of the other pipes. She knew what was down that tunnel, even the loose brick in the flooring ten yards in and the yellow mold growing on the left wall beyond that. The Cellarers would probably burn the mold out on their next monthly patrol, even though it wasn't doing anyone any harm if they just avoided walking into it. Monthly patrol! She went through the whole City's systems about once a week. Even the little tunnels they couldn't get their oversized bodies into. Someone had to keep things running down here.

She realized that the humans hadn't even seen the cube yet; they were down there with their puny little sunrods, lighting things up with wasteful alchemy instead of taking the longer view (figuratively and literally) of finding magics to let them see in the dark. She even yelled "Run!" just in case.

And then Hajek tried to put his spear through Bonesnap's porcelain-scaled hide and the fight was on.

At first, she was just trying to get herself and the albino crocodile away, but then the stupid jelly plowed right into the middle of it all and almost before she knew it, she'd killed Hajek. She didn't mean to. The idiot wasn't even wearing the pitiful leather armor the Cellarer's Guild usually wore down here, just high wading boots.

And, she admitted later to herself, she had panicked. There were people out there (even in the Cellarer's Guild, some of whom she was on very good terms with when their bosses weren't looking) who supported her, and backed her up when she decided to harangue various officials about what people were dumping down their pipes (The sewers under the Alchemysts and Artificers Guild and the pipes under the Magic quarter were just nasty. Once, she was almost eaten by Grues.) but nobody was going to help her out if she were charged with killing a City official.

And besides, the idiots had hurt Bonesnap, and he really didn't take that well. She could've restrained her crocodile, sure. People just didn't realize what a big, loveable ball of scales he really was. He didn't particularly like biting people. Fish, now...Fish he would go out of his way for.

But that was all beside the point once Hejik's head came off, and pushing all the witnesses into the cube where they'd end up dissolved and any crocodile bites wouldn't be noticed seemed like a much better idea than being sentenced to death because the big, dumb human was late and frightened and hurt her crocodile.

She did feel bad about it. She really did. She even had bad dreams about it for five nights. She was almost certain she'd talked to the shorter of the two junior Cellarers a few times before, and he was fairly smart for a human and curious about the things that lived in the sewers in a way that went beyond the usual 'how do I kill it?' mentality.

And she had a nagging, guilty feeling that Hajek had a family. And while they were probably rich, they probably weren't all stupid, and some of them probably loved Hajek, as unlikely as that seemed. Worse, some of them might be depending on him.
Did he have children? She didn't know, and now would be a terrible time to ask. And the other Cellarer's might have families, too, and she really hoped not, but she vaguely remembered having heard that Hajek did...

On the sixth day, there was a note from the Cellarer's Guild posted at one of the intersections where she'd told them they could leave her messages. They were 'requesting her presence' for some hearing or other. She considered not answering, but they did this a few times a year, usually when some noble was curious about rare creatures in the sewers, or someone with a head on their shoulders in the Guild itself wanted her to back them up on some new change to the pipes and systems.

She worried that with Hajek dead, if she didn't show up, someone might connect the dots. So she went.

And tried to act surprised when they arrested her. At least they'd brought a net to deal with Bonesnap, instead of trying to kill him like Hajek had. She almost sagged out of their arms with relief when it turned out to be the same old charges, a running list of damaged locks, damaged gates, damaged filters and screens, paving plugs knocked out, new digging filled in, vandalism, trespassing...She blinked a little as she realized it really was the same old charges, everything she'd been doing under the city for years, including things already dismissed. They were really serious about it this time.

But at least it wasn't about Hajek.

She spent the night pacing her cell, the classic prisoner's occupation. They'd left her a copy of the list of crimes and damages she was charged with. Were they going to fine her for all of that at once? She didn't have that kind of money. Who did have that kind of money? Kings? They were trying to blame her for everything that had gone wrong in the sewers for the last decade, and if they did that no doubt someone would get the bright idea of coming after her for the people who'd been killed by disease and the like, not to mention things that had come up out of the sewers because the Cellarers had stirred them up. Some of those things killed people and ate them. But none of that was her fault! It was their own fault for not leaving things alone and just working around them.

And the money. Gods, the money. Sure, she found things in the sewers sometimes, sure, and sold them, and she found more money than most people would expect, but money she didn't need for the rent of the tiny little storage cellar under the Docks-side warehouse or for the upkeep of her own gear, well, she tended to give that away. There actually was a pension for the orphans of the Cellarers Guild, and even if she thought most of the Guild were idiots it wasn't a child's fault that their parents were idiots. The possible amount of money, she realized, was staggering. What if they locked her up for years? What would happen to Bonesnap? What would happen to the sewers and all the things living in them?

What if they locked her up forever?

By dawn, she'd worked herself into a state of near panic.

Triji was trying very hard not to snivel when they unlocked her door in the morning. At first, she thought it was some kind of trick. Then they made her sign for her things, and shoved her out into the bright morning light with her arms full of gear and a pair of terrified but well-meaning idiots who had Bonesnap on a chain.

It wasn't until she was nearly home that she realized there was a sealed envelope in one of her pouches that wasn't hers. The wax had no stamp on it.

There was a ring folded in with the terse message, and her heart stopped when she recognized it.

It was the seal of the Chief Sewer Inspector; she'd last seen it on Hajek's finger, in the middle of a gelatinous cube.

Someone out there knew.

OOC Notes
I have not yet solidified on a druid build yet. I would like to ask about a couple of special things though, but I believe they are all straightforward.

First, uh, well. She's a sewer druid. So I would really appreciate it if you would make this available, it's a 3.5 variant 0-level cantrip/orison and I don't even mind if you disallow the save effect:

Quote from: from Arcana Evolved, pg. 272HYGIENE
Transmutation
Level: 0 (Simple)
Casting Time: Standard action
Range: Touch
Target: One creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
You clean the subject creature, ridding it of dirt, sweat, contamination, foul odors, and so on. This spell not only makes the subject presentable for fine company, it promotes better health.
For 24 hours after the casting, the subject gains a +1 circumstance bonus on all saves against disease.
Used frequently, this spell can help stave off tooth decay and other such minor maladies, although this has no in-game effect.
Heightened Effects: You can affect one creature per caster level.

I'm pretty sure it's not too powerful for the game, unless the Big Bad Evil Guy is an intelligent smell. ;D

My O/Os. My A/As.
Games I seek:
Savage Worlds of My Little Pony <- Just what it says. Free supplement for SW. (Or any other MLP RP!!! :D)
Eclipse Phase <- Posthuman grit SF, open source, downloadable from their web site. VERY deep worldbuilding.
Cold City <- Espionage meets the Lovecraftian supernatural. Allies in post-war Berlin chasing down the results of secret Nazi experiments
a|state <- Post-apocalyptic sort-of-steampunk, sort-of-high tech roleplay in a massive, decaying, broken-down city-state.

I need to continue working on my character.  I have the basics done, but spending money is always an issue.  Ironically, this guy probably WOULD make a good person to be arrested for murder!

@TheGoat Love the concept!! The closest Druid might be the 'Cave Druid' alernate class [though like a lot of those they delay 'Wild Shape]

She looks fine as is, I am just waiting for the Friday deadline before I figure out which submissions will fit best with this RP.  :-)

Was my character concept acceptable?  Before I go to rebuilding the character sheet for'em?

An alchemist could make a good addition to the team and the concept certainly is interesting; go ahead and submit a partial character sheet.  :-)

Thanks Phaia, yes, Cave is interesting, but has some issues...In any case, I was kind of wanting to avoid playing a caster-specced druid as I did one of those fairly recently.

Zuzime Zetriz
Human Oracle

Look for the sign that reads "Zu's Readings" and try the door beneath the sign. If it is locked, come back another day; if it is unlocked, go ahead and enter the shop. The interior may be dark even if it is bright day outside, and shrouded in mist with blue and purple vapours. Fear not the darkness nor the skeletons standing upright lining the walls: they aren't animated... probably. There is no indication of how much you must pay, but leave your pouch of gold on the table in the middle of the room nonetheless. If it is deemed enough, the fortune-teller will come out from the back of the shop, light a candle, and perform a harrow reading for you. If there is no response to your offer, then sweeten the pot or retrieve your money and leave. Either way, act quickly to resolve the situation before you truly test whether the grinning skeletons looking at you with empty eye sockets are merely there to add decor.

Appearance: Zuzime is a youthful human woman with skin as white and smooth as porcelain, almost unnaturally so. She wears her hair dyed blue at shoulder length, to contrast with her eerie red eyes and pearly white teeth, with black eyeliner and indigo lipstick to make her facial features stand out from her pale face. Her dress is on the formal and elegant side, a dark blue one-piece with a plunging neckline, almost bare back, and a long open slit running down her right leg. High-heeled shoes accentuate her legs and her hips. Her accessories follow the theme of undeath, with a bone ring, skull earrings, and tattoos resembling stitches on her arms, legs and neck and make her head and limbs look as though they had been dismembered and then stitched back onto her body.

Personality: Part performer, part con artist, and part soothsayer (speaker of truth), Zuzime has what it takes to be a successful fortune-teller. She has a highly developed sense of intuition and an uncanny ability to pick out the truth from a web of lies.

Background: When Zuzime was a young girl, her entire family was killed in a fire that consumed the house where she lived. Arson was suspected, but never proven. She never remembered why, but she was outside the house when it burned down, so she was spared from the flames - but not from the screams of the occupants within as they were burnt to death. Their horrible demise prevented them from moving on and their spirits lingered on in this plane, haunting the young girl. Unwilling to part with the last remnants of her deceased parents and siblings, she could never bring herself to banish these spirits even when she later on in life she had the means to do so. The only material possession that survived the deadly blaze was her mother's harrow deck, a curiosity that the practical matron had in turn inherited from her own mother and usually kept locked away in a trunk. The cards did not show the slightest trace of damage from the fire, but they would always smell faintly of smoke ever afterwards.

Left orphaned, Zuzime was brought up in an orphanage, where she was a pariah for the strange happenings that always seemed to occur around her. Plants would sway as though being blown by the wind when the summer air was perfectly still, or faint noises with no explanation would be heard during the dark winter nights. Left alone, she would amuse herself by playing with her harrow deck, unaware at first of the danger in treating such an item so casually. Looking back, she was extremely lucky - or more likely, predestined - to have made it through the first few years without some sort of horrible accident. As she read the cards over and over again, she began to develop an understanding of what they meant, as well as a respect for the power that they held. She also began to develop magic of her own, related to the supernatural and the undead. By the time she raised her first skeleton almost unintentionally from the body of an old cat, she was old enough to know to keep the most outrageous of her powers an absolute secret from everyone for her own safety. An errant spell might be viewed with suspicion; necromancy would trigger an inquisition.

After Zuzime came of age and left the orphanage, she avoided having to sell her body to survive by selling her harrow reading skills instead. She soon learned first-hand how to be an effective fortune-teller and became moderately successful in her profession, enough to be able to rent a small shop to run her personal fortune-telling business from. Necromancy remained a side pursuit for her, and a significant portion of her fortune-telling proceeds went into onyx gems and other materials to carry on with her hobby under cover of night. It wasn't long before she crossed the line into using the corpses of humanoids in her nocturnal activities. Though she did her best to keep her activities a secret, finally she unknowingly stole the body of someone who was related to a powerful individual, who the resources to track down the necromancess who had dared defile their deceased relative's corpse so.

Meta:
Character sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=954114
Future plans: to enter Harrower prestige class at next level (level 7), for that next level of harrow reading professionalism.
Spells known focus on Divination and Necromancy. As befitting a fortune-teller, she also has some minor Illusion magic and good social interaction skills.

Erato

Sorry to keep everyone in suspense. I just want to say thank you to everyone for your interest, I didn't expect such a response. It was difficult choosing but I've assembled what I think will be a well rounded team. They are:

Loki - Kitsune Witch (M)
SheerFantasia - Half-Elf Oracle (M)
Sinestra - Elf Ranger (F)
Blinkin - Human Swashbuckler (F)
Ebb - Halfling Monk (M)
Erato (Myself) - Human Bard (F)

I plan on opening a OOC thread soon. I'll post the link once I do so. Please keep in mind this kind of campaign means character death is possible in the event of poor choices or reckless actions, or even prolonged, unexplained absences in posts.

To those who weren't accepted at this time, I will keep your character sheets should there be an opening.
